I feel like I've just watched the Arabic equivalent to a femenist complaining about Team Fortress 2 being sexist. It's incredibly petty.

How do you mean? :)

Redneck

The Lybians in Back to the Future were there because they were the only "bad" guys at the time who were searching for nuclear material. The movie came out right as tensions between Europe, the US, and Kadafi erupted.

I said this in another thread, but watching who is portrayed as a villian is a good indicator of who a country fears. For years and years the Reds where portrayed as villians because the US feared the Soviets. Now it's the Arabs turn because the US fears terrorist. The number of movies featuring Islamic terrorist has increased since the fall of the USSR because they are the biggest threat to the security of the individual citizen of the United States. It isn't just the US who does this though. I have seen a few Middle Eastern films and they portray the US as the villians because they fear the US. I don't think this is really done out of hate of each other, it just makes good entertainment.

For the record Hollywood doesn't just villify Arabs, and it';s getting annoying how that group especially is crying over their portrayals in movies. African's are portrayed negitivaly in a lot of films, Germans too get the "bad" treatment by Hollywood and cannot seem to shake the Nazi classification. Russians also are always seen as being "bad".
