I've noticed some things getting out of hand in this forum, so I've decided I'm going to crack down after noticing some posts that I, and others have taken as being deliberately offensive. We all know that on Semoitic there has been some amazing interfaith dialogue without resorting to such lows, and I don't believe we should even begin to tolerate them. On a forum like Semiotic there is no place for making fun of someone else's religious beliefs, the God they worship, or anything of that nature. [And to be honest, if you have to resort to things like this then if I were you I'd have a good look at my argument.] Religious intolerance will now, and should have been from the start be on par with saying negative things about someone's race, culture, nationality or sexuality. And just to clarify, if you think this is because Islam was the target of the most recent comment, I'll warn you it's best not to try with another religion. If there are any problems with this, please take it up with me over the PM system. Also - remember that mods/admins can't see everything. If you have seen anything that has offended you anywhere on the forums, please use the report button. That's why we have it. ~Sayf. |
