A Godless life seems sweeter
As some of you may know, one of my mum's friend's is currently dying of cancer. She is in the hospital at the moment, and she doesn't have long left. I just want to know if you guys have any advice of what I should say. Should I smile or be depressed with them? How do I go about life now without looking insensitive if i'm too flippant? Should I try and make my parent's feel better in some way?

It's a tough situation, bro - and my heart goes out to you, your family and everyone who knows your mother's friend. I guess being there as someone to talk to is the best gift you can give, being supportive when people need to speak of memories, or just share some things with you. :)

Don't be scared to tell people what you're feeling also.

She passed away today. At least she didn't have to suffer longer, and her family was with her.

I feel really sorry for the family. I can't imagine what they're going through right now.

it's funny how all those other daily problems seem so insignificant at the moment.

...I've been trying to think of something to say that wouldn't sound stupid or whatever... I've failed. :imstupid: stuff. I hope you're OK and your daily problems soon come back to smack you in your hind bunny parts.

Oh man. That sucks :( I have had lots of brushes with cancer, and some people who have died from it. So I know what that's like. I guess the best thing to do would just be there for them. Don't be too sorrowful, but don't be cheery either. Be comforting.
I'm so sorry :(
