Semiotic Tops ZBNewsNetwork's Monthly Ratings

Now, to be fair we won mainly because we didn't enter in September.
But, that doesn't mean we can't aim to top it again.
Let's go peepz. Reprezent Semi.
- Quote:
Semotic, the general discussion board took the lead this month by a mere 115 posts from the last leader of the Ratings "Outline". Unfortunately no data was collected last month from Semotic, so the results for them are a stand-alone product and have nothing to compare or go up against.

Hey everyone,
Clearly we have made some changes.
Just thought it was time to shake things up a bit and add a bit more variety to Semiotic.
We have kept the themes Nexus, and Yellow Icon Inspired, of course, if they are what you prefer and they can still be found in the theme changer. But we've also added Transcience (the new default) and The Glass Passenger.
We've also made a few changes in the forum order, added a few, deleted a few more.
And we've readded our beloved Ripple.org buttons.
Enjoy.
Nah, but seriously, thoughts and feedback?

An apology.

Hey everyone.
Just a quick note to apologise for the difficulties we had opening posts on Saturday June 13th. It did occur with all forums on Zetaboards server one.
Hopefully we don't have any similar hick ups any time soon.

Snail Mail Club

So, we'll just pretend that this is in honour of Semi turning one, and ignore the fact that I meant to do this a week or so ago
There was some interest in a snail mail club, so I shamelessly stole an idea a local school had. The general idea is to get a blank book (which I conveniently already have), and everyone that wants to participate fills in a page each, and then passes it onto the next person.
What do you fill it with, you ask? Why, whatever you want. If you're into art, draw us something. Poetry's your thing? Share some. If you're not comfortable sharing something you've done yourself, share some of your favourites. Make a page about where you live, somewhere you want to visit or somewhere you love to visit.
When it's all nice and filled up, well I'll get to that when it happens because I haven't quite decided how to do that, but rest assured it will be amazing.
If you'd like in, then send me a PM with your name and address. The book will be passed around in the order that I get your details. Only I, and the person forwarding the book on, will have your address, but if that's still one person too many, let me know and we'll work something out.
If you don't think you'll be able to follow through, let me know as soon as possible. It would kinda suck if it all got lost in the ether. Also I am a ninja master and I'm pretty sure there are few problems that can't be fixed.

Thanks for taking the time out to vote, guys. I hope you enjoyed it, and I might actually put to use some of this information, but I'll let you guys find that out on your own
You’re probably wondering what happened to all the other categories. Well, they all ended up in a tie.
Would you guys just like to see the two takers of each category? Or would you want to break the tie to make one winner in one last voting session? [Categoies: Most fun member, Funniest Member, Biggest Semi Lurker, Nicest Member, Most Likely to Fail in Life, Best Interrogator, Semi Representative]

And the Nominees Are ....
Posted by blue (Admins) at Apr 6 2009, 07:07 PM. 15 comments
Hello again Semiotic. So, a lot of you submitted your nominations for the Semiotic questions posted earlier. I put these together just now in a survey so we can get see which of these nominees opts for the most votes =) Just go to the link provided below and vote one name for each category. Also, I'm going to be saving this, and hopefully we can get more on these nominations and surveys over the next months/years, so if you have any comments/thoughts about Semiotic - anything - feel free to post it in the space provided in the survey. Then we'll be able to go back and see what our first members had to say about this place when it's hopefully been around for a while xD
On a note, please don't be offended/angry/sad if you get a vote for an unpopular category, such as "Most likely to fail in life". This is all just for fun

And since all you have such oh-so-horrible memories and are too lazy to look up anything [
] , there was only one submission for Semi's Best Quote:"Why in God's name is China so overpopulated then! " - Cobbsta, Soy Makes Men Infertile
So, let's give it up for Cobbsta and the Soy Makes Men Infertile thread! *virtual applause*
Here you go, and have fun! : Semiotic Survey Link / April 2009

Semiotic 2009 Nominations
So, here's our chance to see what titles our members hold! Welcome to the just-for-fun Semiotic nominations, where we ask questions and you tell us who fits just right for the role. Post Whore? Politically Incorrect? Wise? This should be interesting
[Some questions will ask for a topic or post. For these, please link to the topic/individual post].
In order to answer the questions, just type in the name of the member or link to the topic or post. You may have up to three answers. Please don't go beyond three. I know there are also a lot of questions as well, so if you begin the survey, feel free to skip [N/A] some of them.
After we get the results, we'll take it a step further and pair up the nominees against each other until there's only one remaining for each category.
Just go to the link provided on the top of this post to begin!

So, as Gamze has decided to step down as admin and resume her previous Moderator duties. Blue has now been promoted to being a Semiotic admin.
Thanks Gamze, for all the time you've put into being a loyal administrator on Semiotic. You've been great to work with over the last few months, and I hope being a mod is just as you remember it.
Blue, welcome aboard the Adminship.
Hope you enjoy the ride.
