I had these at a coffee shop today [so good I had two] and I thought I'd google a recipe and share it before I've made it. :P

I'll be making it soon, and will let you all know how it goes.

Ingredients

125g unsalted butter
3/4 cup pitted dates, chopped
1/2 cup water
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 cup self-raising flour
1 1/2 cups plain flour

Directions

1. Pre-heat the oven to 160C. Line baking trays with greaseproof paper.
2. Place butter, Sunbeam Dates, water and sugar in a saucepan.
3. Bring to boil then remove from heat. Cool for 5 minutes.
4. Stir in egg, vanilla essence and flours. Place heaped teaspoons of mixture onto prepared trays.
5. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden.
6. Makes approximately 50
