Pokemon... about 10 years old in America. Over the years, Pokemon has had a history. First came Pokemon Pikachu, then a bunch of other crap poured in and started a new fad, like Beanie Babies did. Well, the fad died out in a year or two... but there have been various games released: -Red/Blue/Yellow -Gold/Silver/Crystal -Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald -Diamond/Pearl Which generation was your favorite one? I personally like GSC. I haven't gotten the chance to ever play DP. |

Second, of course. The first one just didn't have a storyline that was interesting enough, but the second remedied that minimally. But by the time the GBA titles came out, Pokemon lost its shine. The gameplay was just rather... repulsive compared to the rest. The NDS versions didn't fix that, and finally, they sorta butchered it slightly when they made Mystery Dungeon. Mystery Dungeon has an interesting storyline and soundtrack, but the gameplay was monotonous. Level 44 out of level 99. Yaey. Pokemon had then finally become an uninteresting repetition that had already lost its shine. It doesn't work anymore with my interests. Only drawing them and imagining up a game that won't bore me as much would interest me nowadays. |

Tell that to the 10-year-olds in my city. I suppose part of it was fad and part of it was age. I didn't really like the first generation as much because the mechanics (Example- it took a while to do some things, like surf... at least they seemed long to me). RSE was okay, but recycled the general concept only with more Pokemon. DP... can't say much. |

I've said that to 10-year-olds in a non-ANGRY RANTish way. Little Finnish kids who live around my neighbourhood keep trading Pokemon, and I don't know why they like it that much. I guess it's them. |

My favourite generation, controversially, is the third generation. More specifically; Emerald. I enjoyed that game much more than the rest, I don't know if it was because I came back to it after not playing it for years, but I really liked it. I liked the new HMs they implemented (dive was awesome), the Braille to get the regis was a nice touch, and I generally liked the graphics, music and basically everything about the game. I loved Yellow, it was my first game, I got it with my gameboy colour. I played it for hours, I sucked at it, but I loved it. Then I got gold, which I never found quite as fun as yellow for some reason, I have no idea why. I've recently started playing gold again (after fixing the battery) and I guess I'm appreciating it a lot more this time than when I was 13, but still, Emerald remains my fave. I do hope they re-make the second generation, just like they did FR/LG. I just completed Leaf Green and it was as fun as when I first played Yellow! |

Being the sad person that I am, between me and my sis we own 90% of the main RPGs in the series. (Missing Ruby and FireRed) I'd have to say that I had the most fun with the 1st and 2nd generations, though I'd probably go with the 2nd generation because that was the first time new pokémon were announced and it was amazing upgrade from Red, Blue and Yellow. 3rd generation was really good too, but that was the age when I wondered if I was actually going to continue. However, my cousin got me to buy it so I continued on from there. Though 3rd generation added new stuff, they took away some features that annoyed me. 4th generation was probably the weakest for Pokémon. The game was fantastic, and I have completed the dex with all 490 of the non-event pokémon and spent close to 400 hours in it, however I feel that the added pokémon weren't as interesting as the previous generations. Mind you, with the 4th generation Wifi was added, and that was utterly fantastic. Pokémon + Wifi = Bread and butter. So to narrow it down, I'd say... 2nd > 1st > 3rd > 4th Having that said, those are still very close as they are all fantastic games. Edited by Jingleboy, September 7, 2008, 11:21 pm.

Like a boss.

My favorite was Gold/Silver/Crystal. Why hey nine badges and the best npcs in pokemon my opinion. I also loved how you can fight Ash and Gary in it. It also introduced some of my favorite pokemon. |
