In addition to the automatic successes Epic Dexterity grants, it also increases the distance one can cover in a single action. Associated With: Artemis, Bastet, Hachiman, Hermes, Raiden, Tezcatlipoca EPIC DEXTERITY KNACKS Between the Folds Bullets have unique damage dealing properties compared to other weapons. First is there velocity, the move at such blinding speed that the target cannot easily react to their movement speed. Second is their small size, which allows them to enter very small areas effectively. Scions with this knack are able to intuitively fire single shots into the subtle folds of armor and muscle allowing them to strike more vital targets. This is not compatable with rapid fire shots as the target area of the target is in constant motion and a sting of bullets would not properly strike the same spot at the same exact angle. Cat’s Grace This Knack imbues a Scion with the uncanny ability to remain on his feet despite treacherous terrain or an enemy’s best attempts to knock him down. The player need not even roll. The character still suffers the damage, but he remains on his feet. Furthermore, a character with this Knack ignores all difficulty penalties based on unstable footing and treacherous terrain. He still suffers speed penalties for moving through ankle- to knee deep water or mud. Lightning Sprinter The Scion is a lightning bolt on two legs, zooming past in a blur, trailing leaves or grit or loose debris from the ground he’s already covered. This Knack doubles the amount of distance he can cover in a Dash action, after calculating the new Dash distance based on his Epic Dexterity. What’s more, it negates the movement penalties a character should accrue for dashing through water or mud that is from between ankle- to shoulder height in depth as long as A.) the character began his Dash action on terrain with no such penalty, and B.) the character continues to perform consecutive Dash actions. As long as he keeps dashing, his feet skim the surface of the water or muck like a skipping stone. If he should slow down or stop, however, he sinks into the sucking terrain to suffer the normal penalties. Lightning Strike If the Scion makes a full dash for prior to an immediate attack using a momentum based weapon, which includes most melee, brawl, and large thrown objects like spears, he transfers his momentum into that attack deal extra damage. This cannot be done with thrown knives (too light), or bows, crossbows, or firearms (Their already high velocity makes this useless) Monkey Climber As long as she has sufficient hand- and footholds, the Scion scuttles up vertical surfaces with cavalier ease. Where a normal climber can cover only half the distance she could cover in a normal Move action, a Scion with this Knack suffers no such restriction. Furthermore, as long as the Scion has at least one hand (or both of her feet) on the surface she’s climbing, she can take a second action at the same time while still moving along the climbing surface. The Scion cannot “Dash” while climbing, but the bonus to her movement granted by her Epic Dexterity still applies. Monkey's Foot Hands are not the only way to achieve the goals of the crafty. Scions have sometimes learned to manipulate both hands and feet with smooth grace. Through use of this knack, a Scion can use fingers and toes with equal ease, performing everything from drawing to performing surgery. The user is still confined by anatomy, anything requiring a thumb such as using firearms is still not possible. Trick Shooter With his Knack, the Scion is able to fire while moving with incredible ease. Aiming is not an issue - its almost like he has auto lock on enabled. Untouchable Opponent The Scion might as well be a ghost for all her enemies can lay a hand or a weapon on her. This Knack’s bonus doesn’t apply if the character is merely hiding behind cover or tucked in behind a scutum like a lowly turtle. Only if the character is physically dodging the attacks that are coming her way does this Knack help her out. Without a Trace Light as a feather with a grace of a butterfly, some Scions are gifted with preternatural fluidity. The user of this Knack is both weightless in her movements and able to move across snow, sand without leaving a trace. The user can walk, leap and jump onto objects that have no chance of being able to supporting their weight. The Scion can stand or sit on the most fragile of surfaces without worrying about it not supporting their mass. Any solid material will not break crack or get otherwise displaced by their presence. The most fragile of perches will support their weight. They will leave no footprints when walking and no fingerprints when grabbing at surfaces. The Scion only takes half damage from falling. Note, however, balance is in no way effected (icy is still slippery, a tree branch is still slender). Effects of this Knack are permanent unless consciously deactivated. |
