Professor Marroue

Professor Marroue stood quietly at the front off the classroom waiting for his rambunctious students to quiet down. He looked surreptitiously at a few water basins situated at different points in along the two side walls of the classroom. With a quick flick of his head a dense fog like cloud began to rise out of each. Slowly they settled above the students and after another few seconds small white flakes began to fall; snow. Next he quickly rose both of his arms in unison and the flakes stopped in mid-air, creating a beautiful scene. It seemed as if thousands of tiny crystals hung suspended by invisible string. With a quick flick of each wrist the flakes twirled into whirlwinds and found their way back to the basins. It seemed as if he had most of the class' attention.

"Can we begin?" he asked rhetorically.

"I will start by asking you each to demonstrate your Art for the class. If there is any reason as to why this is not possible, tell me and I will have you see me after class. If someone does not volunteer themselves, I will start by picking at random."

Trinity Conor

Trinity had entered this class with a great worry in mind, she didn't like the idea of using her power in front of other people. What was she supposed to tell them about it, 'Hi, my name's Trinity and I might have used my powers to push my father to drive his car over the gaurd rails, killing my mother, my brother and himself, wanna see?' she had a funny feeling that would not go over well. In fact she was positive that the students would not enjoy seeing her control another student.

When the teacher made it snow Trinity noticed that most students had stopped their conversation. She reached out and catched some of the snow in her hand. Her fingers were about to brush against some of the seemingly stuck snow when the teacher called it all back. The attention was now all his, and he did exactly what she was dreading, he decided it would be a good idea to demonstrate their powers. Her only hope now was to sink lower into her seat and to hope that someone would volunter and she wouldn't be seen.

Reynnah Suttherland

Reynnah blinked. It wasn't like they were part of Alcoholics Anonymous where they stand in front of them, presenting them as freaks. Seeing everyone else in the room only confirmed the very dark thoughts in the deepest part of her mind. Maybe, it wouldn't be so strange if she just stood up, presented herself as plain Reynnah Suttherland and showed how she could manipulate nature. It wasn't like she had a choice anyway. The professor was making all of them go in front of the class. Only-she didn't want to go first. Someone had to. Why not volunteer, maybe get a chance to impress someone? Not a bad idea.
Politely she rose her hand before standing up before her introduction. Surely, the professor couldn't expect too much, right? They were all new at this. The most she could do was make a flower blossom. Luckily she had several with her, secretly Reynnah enjoyed practicing on her own. It never hurt anyone.
"I am capable of manipulating nature at my will. Currently, I can't do as much as I would like. At the moment I can probably only make this flower bloom," she stated placing the plant on the desk. It was a single rose. With her right hand over her left, she started to focus her talent, channeling her energy. A faint green glow appeared, at first nothing happening. She would not fail. She would not at all. Without looking away, she focused harder, the intensity of the light increasing-until at last the rose opened for her. Slightly, she panted, just a little tired, but relieved. Sitting down, she was honestly impressed by her action. And, she did everything the professor asked of-Reynnah stood up again, flushing a deep shade of red, deeper than the rose itself. She forgot to introduce herself. "My name's Reynnah Suttherland by the way," her voice was so soft, she wasn't sure if anyone could hear her.

Professor Marroue

Professor Marroue marveled Reynnah's Art. In all his years he had never seen anything quite so extraordinary. His mind only wandered as he thought of the amazing potential this girl had. But he was quick to regain his composure, because he was teaching a class and he had some standards that he would like to retain. "Good, good," he applauded Reynnah.

Then he thought of something that he should probably tell the class, maybe get some of the shyer ones to step up. "Please do not think I am forcing you to do something you don't want to do. I am merely requesting that you participate to make this class much easier for yourself. I have to know what I am working with, so I can teach you how to properly control your Art and use it to your advantage. This class is the one in which you will be utilizing your Art and it's good to get used to doing so in front of others, especially if you want to participate in the Arena Tournaments, a big part of this school's history. But that all together is another subject, so let's get back to topic. Who would like to go next?"

Trinity Conor

Trinity had sat up for to look closer at the other students gift, and was instantly amazed. Sure it looked like she had started with some trouble at first, but she wowed them all in the end. The rose growing was absolutely beautiful, and it was clear that professor was impressed as well. In fact the good job done by Reynnah seemed to make the professor even more excited to get more students to show their gifts. He said something about how it would only help them, and Trinity had to role her eyes. It wasn't that she disagreed, sure it might help some people, but she was not so sure it would make anything easier on her. In fact she was quite certain that the other students would think her power was as cool.

She let herself sink back down in her seat, hiding from the teachers eye sight. There were a lot of other students near the front, who could easily be chosen before her, in fact she wasn't worried about being chosen. Her only worry was that when she finally did have to go she wouldn't know what to say, and she sure wasn't ready to show of her gift to anyone else, espically not if it meant having to control someone. Besides how was the teacher going to feel about that whole situation, no one's power involved other people yet, and she wasn't sure if she could use her power on someone else on purpose. Surely someone would raise their hand and be brave now that Reynnah had gone and been the first brave soul.

'Oh please someone just raise your hand,' she begged silently, 'I can not go up there, maybe the class will end but someone just go!'

Drake Seran

Drake sat resolutely next to the girl that had just showed off her talent. The rose she had grown was marvelous and he was just a tiny but jealous. His Art compared to giving life to nature just seemed meaningless. Yes, he could move objects which made his life much more easy and gave him incredible offense and defense, but what was the point? He wasn't helping anyone by doing so. He didn't want to be shown up by anyone else at the moment so he decided he would give it a shot. What was there to lose?

Drake had been practicing recently, since he figured out he could control his power, so he was pretty confident when he raised his hand and stood up. He eyed the rose on the desk in front of the girl next to and focused on its movements. Instantly it began to float and he followed it with his eyes as he stuck it behind the girl's ear, accenting her hair beautifully. He smiled at her, and not waiting for a response, turned his attention to his knap sac, out of which he produced a large book, which he traced quietly through the air between the heads of his classmates, never letting it leave his line of sight. He finished off with a circuit around the professor's head then let it come to a rest on his desk in front of him.

"I am Drake Seran," he began. "I am able to move inanimate objects with my mind." Then he sat back down, thoughtlessly moving his chair back under him with his mind.
