Vancouver; Winter Olympics

Jeremey was someone who always liked to be where things were happening. And as of late, Vancouver Canada happened to be the centrepoint of a heck of a lot of action. The Winter Olympics were being hosted there, and things were reaching an all new level of hype. Of course, Jeremey had been offered a place on the US Men's Hockey Team, but had turned it down...resolving to wait until he was older and strong enough to hold his own against veteran NHL players. Even though the IIHL bylaws made him elegible, he wasn't yet big enough to play against older NHL pros without getting killed. So instead, he had decided to go to Vancouver just as a spectator; he wanted to take it all in seeing as by the time of the Sochi Russia Games in 2014 he would not be watching the Games...but playing in them.

Nick's mom and dad had been called onto duty by the Ministry as "police officers," in order to make sure that there would not be some sort of crazy magician causing an uproar. So, like usual, Nick and his older brother, Gabriel, were brought along, not that they were complaining. Nick was stopped by a couple of people just saying hello and occasionally asking him a question. One such person walked up to ask if he knew where the nearest wc was, in French. "Um... Je pense... sur le coin de Rue de Marseille et Boulevard Saint Therese." The Francophone quickly said a quick thank you and took off. Smiling at the person, Nick noticed Jeremey. "Jeremey," shouted Nick, over the top of the crowd, "Jeremey Gretzky! BONJOUR! Comment ca vas? Pourquoi tu est ici?"

Sean thought he heard a familiar voice shouting in French and thought "What the heck? We're not in Quebec...in fact we're almost as far away as we could get from Quebec." Suddenly he realized that he saw some fellows from school. Smiling, he walked over to where Nick was shouting in French and said "so is that your stategy to pick up girls or what?" Sean then added "Je suis lucky since my pere brought me ici avoir him" (Probably murdered that ......... I am lucky since my dad brought me here with him) Et Vous?

OOC- That is EXACTLY what I was thinking!!!

Jeremey turned around when he heard someone yelling at him in French...what he had no idea, Jeremey spoke many languages (among them English, Spanish, Mermish, Russian, German, and Italian) but French was not one of them. Actuallly, come to think about it, given the line of work Jeremey was considering going into that seemed to be a rather big flaw in his education. Rather than react with excitement at seeing his friend, Jeremey greeted him with a friendly punch on the arm saying "We're not in Quebec Nicholai! They don't speak French here!" Laughing he said "Great to see you though, what are you doing here?" Then Sean arrived and Jeremey laughed and said "Please, I already have dates every night for the next week. Just tell these Canadian girls that you're a professional-hockey player, and they literally throw themselves at you!" Jeremey said, still enjoying the memory of the last girl...who had literally demanded that he marry her on the spot. Naturally, Jeremey had very politely excused himself and then bolted. Looking at Sean he said "We could maybe pass you off for a smaller sniper. If I told them that you were a prospect for the London Knights they might believe me."

"Welll, maybe the Windsor Spitfires, not London...I don't look enough like a farm boy, Sean added jokingly. "I'm used to the big cities. But anyway, you aren't playing in the games are you? He asked Jeremey, not sure what the answer would be. It seemed like people could play for whatever team they wanted to almost...if they were good enough. "or maybe the Plymouth Whalers" he added, thinking about hockey again.

Nick was shocked to see Sean come up behind him... "Oh.. No, I am not trying to get a girlfriend. I find significant others to be full of too much drama." Frowning slightly at the punch from Jeremey, "French is one of the national languages of Canada, and is the language in which you will be hearing a lot of." Quickly switching from English to Japanese, "Baka." Nick let the two hockey fans talk about hockey for a few seconds until he heard his ticket number being called, "Mille quatre cent soixante sept! 1467!" Waving at the guy Nick quickly said, "C'est moi! Un moment si vous plais! J'ai un question pour mon amis!." The guy made an okay sign before starting to call off his brother's ticket number. "Sorry... Our parents got us tickets near the box. Where are you guys sitting?"

"Fair enough," Jeremey said, "Why don't we tell them that you play for the Quebec Remparts with me. They'd probably be more likely to believe that...especially because you speak French." Laughing when Nick said he wasn't interested in a relationship...and that French was a national language of Canada Jeremey said "First, they only speak French in Quebec really, and secondly, they're Canadian girls and I mean really really hot Canadian girls!!" Nick then mentioned tickets and Jeremey laughed saying "Tickets, oh please you're cute. Go collect your brother, we've got rinkside seats...or a luxury box depending on which you prefer, and access to the locker rooms between periods." Glancing back at Sean he added "I may have refused their offer to play for team USA...this year, but that doesn't mean I wasn't very happy to accept the other perks they offered me."

The Olympics were awesome. James always enjoyed watching them even on the television but he couldn't miss out while they were in Vancouver and he had the time to see them so took the chance to watch, using the ever useful magic, escpecially the Confundus spell, to get around and such. He was having enough fun hanging around with a few acquaintances he'd made during the day, but took a double-take when he was sure he saw some properly familiar faces. Jeremey, Nick and Sean - of course, there they were. James pushed his way through the throng of people, peering easily over the crowd to reach his friends from school with an exclamation of, "Hey!!!" He grinned and waved."Hope I'm not crashing or anything..." James added as he came to a halt and straightened up. "But how could I not come to the Olympics?"

"Now it's a party." Jeremey muttered when James showed up, four of them now...and none of them had planned to meet up there? Even for an event as big as the Olympics it was a rather interesting coincidence...the type of coincidences that seemed to happen to Jeremey with unusual frequency...and by that he meant just about every time he left the house. In fact, he was still half expecting to run into someone from school every time he walked to the store...he just had that kind of strange luck.

Nick only looked at Jeremey like he was mad. Why did he have to go get his brother when he was standing right beside him. Gabriel had a similar look on his face, "Oi, Jeremey. I'm righ' here," said Gabriel. Ignoring his brother, "Sure, I'll get him after we get set down." Before he had even muttered the whole phrase, Gabe's fist had landed on Nick's shoulder. Nick was going to return the favor when James walked up. "The more the merrier actually. I can't find my brother so I know there is at least one open space," said Nick, side-stepping yet another punch. "Who in the heck are the Quebec Remparts?... And what makes you think they would think I am a hockey player?" He asked, pointing at a group of girls staring at the group of guys.

OOC: Did you guys notice that all of the guys currently on this site are in this thread now?
