Stars Lemon Bars 2 cups flour, divided 1/2 cup plus 3 tbs. sugar divided 3/4 cup butter or margarine 3 cups sugar 6 eggs 1 cup plus 2 tbs. fresh lemon juice Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Combine 1 1/2 cups of the flour and 1/2 cup of the confectioners sugar in a medium mising bowl. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Press over the bottom of a 9X13 baking pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Reduce the oven temperature to 300 F. Whisk the sugar and eggs in a medium mixing bowl until blended. Stir in the remaining 1/2 cup of flour and lemon juice. Spread evenly over the baked layer. Bake for 40 minutes longer or until set. Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with the remaining 3 tbs. confctioners' sugar. Cut into 20 bars. |
