Boards Running A Little Wonky

I'm sure you guys have noticed that the boards seem to be a little wonky.

Basically what it's doing is not loading(or if it's loading, it's extremely slow) many of the Mods I have installed, so that is why you're seeing things like 'member number', 'member title', etc. in your forum profile, smilies aren't loading in quick reply, the board format on the main page is different, etc.

The server that houses a lot of these mods is down or not running properly, so that is the cause for it. It's basically something that is out of our control, so we're just going to have to wait it out and hope it goes back up soon.

Thanks for your patience!

hmm...I haven't noticed anything except for when I go to put a smiley in a reply sometimes I will click on one and it won't do anything.

I thought that these were my workcomputer problems because it has had other issues lately too :P But I think these are so minor things that they don't bother me. Or probably I am so used to computers that sucks. :D

Yeah, I noticed the member number thing.... and I posted something yesterday which never appeared..... but hey, it's not like it's really annoying or anything.

:) Thanks for the heads up

Thanks for the info! :) To be honest, I haven't noticed anything except for the annoying loading circle that won't go away on the Saula Heaven tab of my laptop. Everything else seems to be working well.
I believe the most difficult situation you can ever be faced with is deciding whether you should just move on, or hold on a little tighter. Move on, and maybe you'll lose a chance at the best thing that could have ever happened- or hold on, and have the possibility of one day being the biggest disaster ever created.

I have a small problem. Whenever I type something into the fast reply box, and click add reply, it takes me to the full reply screen. Am I doing something wrong? :donno:

That happens to me too when I use IE at work. At home I use Mozilla and I don't have any problems.

Is this happening to you in IE like akaha mentioned?

If so, what version of IE are you guys running?

That's always happened for me, and I'm using IE 7 at home and IE 6 at work.

I think the one I have at work is IE 6.

Ok, thanks! I was hoping it was going to be a matter of just upgrading to the latest IE.

The Fast Reply function is a built-in feature of Zetaboards, so I'm not sure what the problem is. If it were part of the mods I manually installed, there would be a good chance that the mod would be causing the conflict. But with this, I honestly have no idea. :donno:

I'll research.

It's no big deal, IMO, I can live with it. It gives me a chance to preview. :))

Yeah, it doesn't bother me either. Usually I have so many typos it's just a good thing if I have to preview. :D

I just hate for you guys to be missing out on nice features even if it's not anything that major.

I'm going to have a go at fixing this. I remembered that I had installed a Mod that added Smilies to the Fast Reply box, and I'm wondering if that's causing the conflict. I'm going to remove that and see if that works.

In FF, you can use Fast Reply and a preview, too, right from the same screen; it's not fair for IE users to miss out on that.

Can't promise I can fix it, but I'm going to try.

Although like I have said before, if you guys can use FF with this site, I highly recommend it. IE renders some of these pages and makes them look downright ugly! :silly: Everything is much better with FF.

Ok, so it wasn't that that was causing the problem. Although, I think I've figured out what it might be. :paulaclap:

Can you guys update to Internet Explorer 8? I was right originally when I was assuming/hoping that it was just a matter of upgrading your browser except I didn't realize IE8 was available. I was thinking the latest was IE7. Shows how much I keep up with IE.

While Fast Reply is a built in feature of ZB, certain Mods(that I have installed) pertain to portions of the Fast Reply box. The conflict, I believe, is occurring with the Mod that I installed that places a Preview button for the Fast Reply. To remedy the problem, people need to upgrade to IE8.

I hate to completely remove the option for everyone since there is a solution for IE users.

Hopefully upgrading will remedy the problem. But if that doesn't work for you IE guys, then I'll be back to square one in trying to solve what is causing the conflict. :drama: :))

I didn't know there was an IE 8, either. I might look into it tomorrow, although it's really not enough of a problem for me to worry too much about it. I want to see what 8 is like, first. I'm not really an early adapter. :))

I don't know if this is something that's just happening with IE on my work computer (I don't remember having the problem at home) but it seems the preview function is not working for me properly. When I click the "Preview" button, it just posts what I've written instead of previewing it.

Also, when I try to click on a smiley to add, nothing happens. I can only add a smiley if I remember the code (which I luckily do for most of the smileys I use).

I haven't noticed anything new (although I've always had problems with the Fast Reply area not working correctly and I use IE. But I'll see if I notice anything.

I had similar problems last week but otherway around: I couldn't post anything it just made a preview instead of posting (and smilies to add didn't work either).

And no problems with IE at home just at work... :P

ETA: Now it works ok (although I'm at work).

I had huge problems either Thursday or Friday.........when I clicked on a thread, it would take me all the way back to the first page, even if it was months ago. If I tried to post, I got an "error" message, and couldn't do anything....after awhile, I got that message all the time! I was so sad........I thought I had lost all of you forever! :(( I went to bed, and the next day, everything seemed to be cured. I kept waiting to see if anyone else mentioned trouble, but they didn't, so I assumed it was just me. :donno:

Did it happen to all the threads or just some? Because that happens whenever we combine two threads together.

That's weird, though. I use Firefox, and I never have any problems.
