Donald walked across the bridge heading toward the mainland. Before he'd gotten on the bridge, Donald had decided to stop by the Pokemon center and see if there were any pokemon who had been abandoned or needed homes. He really loved pokemon and hated to see any of them that felt lonely or sad. As he walked across the bridge, he had three pokemon with him. Well, two pokemon and an egg. The two pokemon he had were his Scyther and an Oddish he had adopted just this morning. As it turned out, an Oddish had hatched at the Pokemon Center and had needed a trainer. Donald had gladly adopted it on the spot, Oddish was so cute! When Oddish got older, Donald wanted to buy a Sun Stone and have Oddish eventually evolve into Bellossum. As he walked across the bridge, he kept Scyther and Oddish in the two pokeballs in his belt. In his pocket, he had the other Pokeballs he had purchased just this morning. He had bought as many of them as he could carry. He could hear his footsteps echoing around him. This was definitely a new beginning for him. In his arms he carried the Pokemon Egg he had also bought from the Pokemon Center. Nurse Joy had told him it was either the egg of an Aipom or Chinchou. She hadn't been sure, but Donald really hoped it was an Aipom. The bridge he was on certainly looked like a long one, but he knew he'd get to the other side eventually. At any rate, the day was Sunny and the breeze off the ocean was calm and cool.

Donald could hear many Wingull squawking out over the ocean somewhere, more than likely hunting for some food or something else. He just hoped that the Wingull wouldn't attack him or anything. If there was one pokemon Donald found annoying, it was Wingull. True, he would do his best to capture one, but only because he'd need it to complete his Pokedex later on. For now though, he was just happy to have his Scyther and Oddish with him. He didn't give them any special names yet, but he figured he would later. As he continued to walk, he spoke to the Pokemon Egg he carried in his arms. "It's okay Mango, I won't let those Wingull hurt you, I promise." Smiling softly, he continued to walk and relished the feel of the soft ocean breeze against his skin. This was certainly heaven when compared to what he was used too. He could see the mainland coming closer and closer. He figured it would be at least another ten minutes before he got there though. Mainly because he was walking at a leisurely pace. Suddenly, he heard a sound in the distance. Could that be thunder? Blinking, he looked into the distance over the ocean to his left. The clouds heading his way definitely looked ominous and dark. Quickly, he began to run across the bridge as fast as he could while still hugging the Pokemon Egg to himself. If there was a storm coming, he certainly didn't want to get caught in it!

When he got onto the mainland, Donald found himself in some high grass. This was definitely a meadow or field of some kind. Going over a short distance from the bridge, he sat down his backpack and pulled out his tent. Setting it on the ground, he began to set up camp for the night. It would be nice to have somewhere to sleep tonight, even if it was just in a tent. After setting up the tent, he did his best to collect firewood and build a fire. He hadn't heard any Thunder in quite a while, had he only been imagining things? Looking around at his now fully established campsite, he wonderd what adventures he'd have on this new journey.

The thunder was indeed from a storm but it was not passing over his side of the island, but a chill was. In the late afternoon a cold breeze blew. Spring had just begun but winter had a little left to offer. In the warm sun of the afternoon the breeze blue the grass southwards as pokemon frolicked in the feild and trees. A signpost near where you had set up came read "Azure Brid Watcher Troop members watch over this land, any illegal activities will be acted upon on sight". Underneath it had three activities that had big no signs over them. No picking wild flowers and berries, no littering and no vehicles.

Thunder sounded but it was so distant it was almost unhearable, and you tried to light a fire you found that the wind was making it very difficult. You struck match after match, rubbed stick against stick and tried many other things all to no avail. You heard footsteps, the small bridge was easily crossed in thirty minutes and coming closer to you was a red haired girl, she was dressed in all black, t-shirt, jacket, pants, boots and gloves. "Hello there, need a little help?" she asked, her eyes were kind enough, with that she took out a pokeball and released a Vulpix onto the ground in front of you, your journey had begun.

Donald looked up at the girl, blinking a few times. He had indeed heard footsteps, and had barely registered who it was before a Vulpix appeared on the other side of the firepit he had built. Looking up at the girl, he nodded, holding a broken match in his hand. Damn if he wasn't having the worst luck trying to light a match today. "Thank you, that would be great. I do need a fire so I can keep my camp warm tonight, and it would also allow me too cook. Guess me and the matched don't mix." Smiling softly at her, he held the broken match up so she could see it. "They just keep breaking, guess I bought the wrong brand." Shrugging, he tossed the box of unused matches on top of the wood placed in the firepit. "Cute Vulpix by the way. Does it have a name?"

Turning to look at the Vulpix, Donald stared at it intently. The Vulpix was definitely cute, Donald would freely admit that. What he was wondering, however, was how strong the Vulpix was. Or even more precisely, what level of training it had reached. Smiling softly at the Vulpix, he nodded before turning his eyes to the red haired girl again. "Are you just starting out on a new journey too?" Donald was curious about all the new trainers who would be starting their journeys over the next week, and he was eager to meet them all.
