After some careful thought, I really don't want to turn loose a bunch of beginners on this site. It's just not the right place. I am more afraid of a beginner getting into some of the modding group WIP stuff and doing something to aggravate the modders, or even fouling something up. Such as asking or even begging for something they want to be included in your mod. I realize you could implement permissions that should keep most of them out. However, That would make it more difficult for your legitimate modders to work. And as for the beginners, that would just make them want in even more thinking there was some great secret cabal in place to keep them from finding out the real answer to their problem. They would be constantly bugging the admins for the 'special' permission to look at what is being done on the WIP projects. Then go off to some other sites and blab about some minor thing they saw being discussed that might not even make it into the final cut. I know that if I was working on a new concept that might not even work like I hoped, I wouldn't want it being talked about on a non modders site where they don't know what is and isn't possible with the tools we have. I am working with Storm Raven to have a new site set up that is dedicated to support only. No mods, no off topic discussions, no polls. Just help with problems. We plan to start with Oblivion and expand into other games as we see a need. Saint Productions will be listed and have a link, but only under the advanced help section. I will stay a member, and maybe when I have time, bring in my 'House of Wax' mod that has been sitting idle for several months due to a lack of time to work on it. Ben, I understand your concern with the boards, and respect your decision to develop your own site. Here at Saint Productions, we have an affiliation program in effect. It's not much now, but we're hoping to develop it further as it grows and as ideas are thrown about. So I ask this, once your site is fully set up and rolled out, would you like to affiliate with Saint Productions? .~DW |

Did I hear my name mentioned? I believe I did. I don't think there's any question, that we would be happy to affiliate, with your site. Storm Raven B) Edited by Storm Raven, May 26 2008, 11:44 AM.

Then once the site is rolled out, get me a link and a banner (if you have one). I'll also send Ben our Banner. |
