Now then, for the dreaded rules. I apologise if any of them sound a little strict, just don't worry because I'm not and this site won't be really. Just make sure you read and follow the rules and all will be fine.
General Rules
- I know that several things about this site are not factual, do not complain about anything as I have not at any point claimed this is a realistic roleplay.
- Be respectful of other members and do not cause or take part in arguments. This includes the staff as well, if they inform you that you're doing something wrong don't argue, if you don't understand what you're actually doing wrong then ask them.
- If you need help, then contact a member of staff staff or ask for help in the help section. The staff will get back to you as quickly as possibly though you are more likely to get a quick response if you ask for anyone to answer in the help board.
- Please remain active and inform preferably a member of staff if you cannot be for any reason.
- Please don't swear at anyone. This is part of the whole respecting others part, but I thought I should make it clear.
- You are only allowed one account.
- You may post an Out Of Character message alongside your roleplay post, so long as you make it clear with either ((double brackets around it)) or OOC: before the message then BIC: When you're roleplaying again.
- Optional, but it does help keep track of things really, if you set out your signature similar to mine, listing your characters and the clans they belong too.
- Avatars can be 150x150px or smaller. Signature Images can be a maximum of 500x300px
Creating A Character
- No character is allowed to have wings(with the exception of birds) or any powers.
- Your character's coat must be an ordinary colours and markings for that animal. However, the eyes can be odd colours. Whilst on the topic of coat colours; Black foxes are allowed, but no more of them can be made at the moment - they're supposed to be a rare occurrence and yet now we have three of them in Dolosus!
- You may have more than one character, though as long as you can handle the number you have. If you are struggling to manage, a member of staff will ask you to decrease the number of characters you have.
- Each character must have its own description thread.
- Characters must be accepted before you start roleplaying with them.
- A character must be made using the template code. Also you will need to read the example thread for further details.
- Wolves, Foxes and Rabbits can live up to 10 years whilst Deer and Birds can live to 15. I know these aren't correct ages and as I've said with everything else, please don't complain.
- This one comes up in various other areas too, you can roleplay Grey Wolves, Red Foxes, Red Deer, European Rabbits.
- Birds can only be roleplayed with permission or through buying one with points.
- Newborn characters can have an optional personality, but that must be added after a month at which point they will be officially accepted (moved & closed). Any changes to personality/appearance as they get older must then be sent through PM to a member of staff.
Roleplaying Rules
- No Poweplaying or godmoding. This means that you cannot control other characters or make your character invincible.
- Each character can only be in one roleplay thread at a time; we can't be in two places at once. However, under certain circumstances (such as inactive members), you may be given permission to roleplay your character in another thread.
- Each roleplay post must be at least 100 words. There is an automatic word and character count which counts as you type. It is show beside the preview button. Once the bar is full, you've reached the 100 words mark.
- Please do not change the colour of your posts or the size of the font.
- Make sure you use proper punctuation; "" is a must for speech. And don't have a whole paragraph as one sentence. Full stops and commas are there for a reason.
- Some people use bold speech and italic thoughts. That is fine as it helps make things clear, though it is not a must. Still use punctuation though.
- Please don't write mature posts, mostly with breeding and birthing scenes.
- The animals can all understand each other.
The Clans
- Opportunities will be given to others to make new clans as the members of the site grow. This process will happen through auditions.
- You may only request to make a clan if there is a spot open and a member of staff has asked for auditions to take place.
- The auditions will simply be putting forwards both your ideas for the clan and your clan leader.
- New clans can only be made after the current ones have a certain number in them, this can be seen in the information section.
- The only exception is if you have won this as prize in a contest.
Breeding & Birthing Rules
- Animals can only mate with an animal of the same species, this means wolves with wolves, deer with deer. You get the idea.
- Wolves may only have one mate for life, and the same with the foxes. Rabbits will usually have one mate at a time but their mate might change at any time. Deer stags can mate with several hinds at a time depending on how well they do in the rut and their position in the herd.
- If they are not the alpha, then a wolf or fox pair will need permission to mate first. That is up to the alphas of your pack. PM the roleplayers of those characters first to sort things out, some characters may mate without permission to create a plot but like I said, PM first.
- If your character has mated, the roleplayer of the female will need to PM a member of staff on that day.
- If your characters have mated then the female must be pregnant for at least three weeks. I know this isn't realistic time, so do not complain. If you don't like it then you're welcome to have them pregnant for longer.
- I've said it before, but I'll say it again. No mature posts, this includes breeding or birthing.
- PM a member of staff when the young are born.
- Don't age your young too fast, keep that at a realistic time even if the actual pregnancies aren't.
- Please remember the young aren't like fully grown animals, their senses are less accurate and their speed, stamina ect. are lower too.
- Not all young will survive, keep that in mind. You might have stillborns, young that get ill and die. You can plan it out.
- You may not want to roleplay your characters offspring, simply post someone before the birth, or even PM if you have someone in mind. I'm sure someone will be willing to roleplay an extra character. You can then decide between you on names, gender and appearance.
Warnings & Bans
- You will be given warnings if you do not follow the site rules.
- Once you have your warning bar filled then you will be banned for a certain amount of time.
- If the warning bar is filled a second time, you will banned completely.
- You can gain warnings and also lose them.
