The automaton answered the man with a single noise. "No."

Then she propped herself up, because despite not agreeing with him, she was given a clear order. She made a series of beeps like an old DSL modem and shut down for manual maintenance mode. </endtask>

Sam went back to work on the robot. He fished through Lucille's hardware, careful not to remove anything. Suddenly, he found what he recognized as a sort of internal command module. It was more of a USB-type port, but it linked to Lucille's hard drive. Sam had a small kind of computer with him. It was similar to, say, a Palm pilot, only it was strapped to the inside of his left forearm. He used a connector cable to link up with the port in Lucille's hardware and went to work. First off, he bypassed the actual OS in Lucille's AI and went straight for the base software. He accessed her files and searched through, making a note of all system files and such on her hard drive. As she was an AI, the files were complex and numerous, but he managed to keep them straight.

When this more simple approach provided insufficient access, Sam disconnected and re-linked, entering Lucille's root terminal, which is basically a way to do whatever you want with anything you want. Sam did not know Lucille's root password, but a simple hacking method was enough to get through. Most of the necessary system files were there, but some were misplaced or corrupted. This probably explained why she was so awkward an AI. He sifted through, rearranging files as necessary, but put off the corrupted files for later.

Having replaced Lucille's files in the correct locations and configurations, as far as computers are concerned, he began working on manually reading through the coding of the corrupted files, taking note of the purpose of each file, then recoding them himself to replicate each function.

Hours later, he was done. Lucille would not be completely fixed from this, but she would be somewhat more autonomous and much more able to function on her own, without need of constant command from an outside administrator. He reactivated the gynoid and waited to see what she would do.

The gynoid booted up. A high pitched fanfare played as her little bits and pieces came back together. In some older models, this process would take probably twenty minutes. In her case it took two. A picture of a muffin flashed onto her face. With all the bugs worked out of a certain application, she was immediately prepared to work.

The command console however, did not respond. She twitched a little, looked around, and became severely confused. She cried out in an ear-splitting mechanical voice. "What ever will I do without <task>!"

It seemed that her main function applications required her to perform a task, but without proper guidance from the start-up files linked to the command console, no possible tasks could be entered for her to perform. She was now stuck in an endless loop of looking for a proper task, but not receiving any clues or ideas. Without a task of course, she went into sleep mode and fell motionless. A cute little animated sleeping emoticon displayed on her face.

Sam reopened Lucille and reconnected to her root terminal, resorting through the system files and organizing the command files, setting tasks both preexisting and new tasks. The only new tasks he added were relevant to her purpose as a maid bot. He finished in only about a half hour, as most of the command files were present, but only in need to linking to the hard drive.

After her system reset, Lucille stood back up. A "v_v" emoticon displayed on her face. She finally spoke up. "May I shine your shoes sir. You must wash your face tonight sir."

She was working spectacularly. She appeared eager to do something for Sam right away.

[[From: Here]]

SIN was walking across the field, on her way to the pass to enter Durlai. While she was walking, she noticed two figures in the field. One was a human male, wearing what looked like advanced gear, probably made in Lylean City, since that was where most technology is born. The other one was an Android, and SIN knew that the robot would be from Lylean City, since that's the only known place where robots are built.

Walking nearby, SIN noticed the robot was of the female programming and form, and seemed to have facial emoticon interface instead of human resembalance interface like herself, so she approached. Perhaps these two had seen this man she was after, if he had been in the region.

"What are you two doing out here in the fields?" she asked in a monotone voice.

Sam turned to the android before him and looked her over.

"We're off to Lylean City. Do you need something or what?"

SIN was looked at the human with indifference, and looked away. "Well, if that is all you have to say, then I will be off." She started to walk away from the group, ignoring the fact she could have slit the man's throat before leaving, but decided to just be on her way. "Good luck ma'am," she said offhandedly, refering to the robotic maid.

Sam watched the android walk away. He was puzzled for a moment, then called out.

"Hey! You clearly needed something! What was it!?" He though for a moment, then continued. "You're a robot? Are you from Lylean City!?"

"Perhaps we shouldn't agitate the <unknown model> unit, master. The unit appears hostile, and it is warned to approach the unit with caution." Lucille warned Sam with a smile. "^v^"

"I'm sure it will. Now... that android was a peculiar individual. We should follow her..."

Without actually waiting for consent from Lucille, who he figured was going to follow him from now on, returned and left in the direction that SIN departed. He was determined, for some reason, to find out what the robot wanted.

Rika just kind of watched everything happen, and they just stood there for some reason. Amy had kind of run off a little ways chasing a rabbit, and Lucy was following her. Of course, Lucy was trying to stab the rabbit with an arrow. ". . .What the hell just happened?" They were standing there for several minutes. They didn't even have any idea where they were going. Rika sat down and sighed, laying back in the grass. After holding Lucy back long enough to let the bunny run away, Amy walked over.

"So!" She said cheerfully, sitting down in the grass beside Rika. "Where are we headed?" She asked with a smile on her face, giving an innocent face at Rika. He kind of blushed a little, nervous at the fact that she was kind of staring at him. "Well. . .I don't know. I'm your bodyguard, it's up to you where we go." Amy seemed to consider a little. She wasn't really sure of the landscape. Lucy sat beside Amy. She wasn't really sure either.

Rika just sighed. He started considering where they could go first.

"...?" Abadon's throat made a quizzical sound as he walked through the field- he had just spied something... odd, to say the least. He watched a few figured walk off into the distance, leaving three elves behind, who seemed completely and utterly lost. "Weird elves are weird..." He muttered to himself, shaking his head. "Then again..." He replied to himself dryly, looking at himself. What he saw was a very mangy, very dirty, and very raggedy-ass elf- definitely a weird elf. He shrugged his shoulders and kept walking, deciding it might be best to ignore the party of three, though by now he was walking right in the middle of them.

As Rika was laying back, he smelled something. . . horrible. He quickly jumped up, holding his nose. "OH GOD WHAT IS THAT HORRIBLE SMELL!" He shouted. Lucy quickly jumped up. "I SWEAR IT WASN'T ME." Amy looked over and saw Abadon kind of walking away, although he was pretty close still. "Oh! Hello, I'm Amy!" She said to him, waving. She tried a lot not to respond to the smell, trying to ignore it.

I suppose I should take a bath. It's been at least a few months since the last... Abadon thought, his thoughts wandering. He came to a halt as he thought this over, completely oblivious to Amy talking to him. He only realized that she was speaking to him once she had gotten much closer. Turning his body around fluidly, he cocked his head to the left. It had been awhile since he had seen another elf, let alone several. Hell, it had been a long time since he had seen anyone- the last person he had seen was an adventurer near the Karlain Temple, who had quickly met a grizzly end. Once again shrugging his shoulders, Abadon sat down without replying to the group. Instead, he pulled out a bottle from his pack.

Once he was on the ground, he began to strip off his clothes, showing tan, corded muscles- evidence of his long time in the forest. Forgetting completely that there were other people around, Abadon began to splash water on himself from the bottle, rubbing off the caked on dirt with a small cloth. He began to removed his undergarments- and then he realized where exactly he was. He looked up at the people around him. "Oops." was all he could say.
