`Continued from here` After short chat with the two Harpies and a long climb up the moutain path, he reached a large village of Harpies, who seems unphased by the searing heat that has crept up on Dirge. Sweat formed on his brow as he made his way through the village, looking for anyone who could point him in the right direction. After a little searching, he happened upon an older Harpy who walked slowly but surely down the path. Dirge approached the man calmly and started to walk beside him. "Sir, could you direct me to the entrance to the Hadic Temple?" he asked politly. The Harpy nodded but then shook his head. "I can't in good conscious," he began, "send a young man off to his death without knowing he has a chance. Let me see your blade," the man motioned to the sword strapped to Dirge's side. Dirge complied with the request, eager to get to the Temple so he could see if the journal entry was correct about the relic. The man gasped with horror at the sight of the blade, shaking his head the whole time. "Might I recommend getting your sword redone before attempting to survive in the Temple," he said as he continued to walk again, "maybe you should check the around here for a way to do that." |

Dirge walked away from the shop, his blade resting in his sheath and his pockets weightless. He had spent every last aggle on the repairs for his blade. He wandered through the streets looking for the Harpy, who he finally found sitting on a rock under the shade from a ledge. Dirge walked over to the old bird, who motioned for him to sit down. Dirge sat down, cross legged, beside the Harpy and slide his sword from his sheath. "How's this," Dirge muttered as he handed the blade over. The Harpy picked up the sword and flipped it over in his scaly hands before handing it back. "Very good, very good indeed," he said thoughtfully, "this sword is now fit for combat in the moutains of fire." The old bird then climbed to his feet and started to walk along the cliff wall, with Dirge following after him. They walked for about ten minutes, until they came to a cliff wall. "Now, young one, climb this wall until you come to a large ledge, then enter through the stone gates that are used to seal enemies in," he said calmly as he turned to leave. Dirge nodded once then quickly started to climb the wall, struggling until he came to the mentioned ledge with the large stone doors. The doors had no handle to pull, and he found he couldn't push them, so he slowly drew his blade, and wedged it into the crack of the door. Using leverage, he slowly pulled the door out enough to get his fingers into the groove, and pull the door open. |
