1. Be creative, be inventive. Create your own character that is not based on a star wars character that already exists in the star wars universe. which means you cant be relatives to a star wars character or have a name of a star wars character. Main characters will be played by the administators and moderators at first to guide you. Later main characters or other could be handed out to more experienced members who can handle playing multiple characters. Main Character's also can not be killed. 2. No character has unlimited cash at his/her disposal. Be realistic when you award yourself with credit amounts. 3. You submit your character in the Character Sign-Up area, and we'll copy it to the character forum if we deem it suitable. We do not guarantee that we will... 4. You must role-play in character (IC), unless the forum is in the "Out of Character" subcategory. The exception to this is out of character (OOC) posts, which must be marked as such at the top. Try to avoid doing these very often. 5. Don't annoy people unconditionally; annoyances can quickly lead to rows and the breaking of RPs and communities. 6. Make you're RP posts creative. Make them in the paragraph format, as opposed to the *does something* style. It looks better, and results in better written posts. Plus, the staff will delete any posts which are made in the *does something* format in the actual RP. We would also like punctuation, reasonable spellings and grammar, and an adequate length. Sloppy writers need not apply. 6.5. This is a TEXT BASED RPG. This means that there are no real graphics involved. It is not a video game, it is a forum where people come to write stories and interact with others based on The Star Wars Saga. 7. You can only be at one place at a time in real life, right? Well, the same goes for these forums. No being all over the place with your character. It's too confusing, not to mention impossible. A character can only be in one thread at once, though leaving threads to join other threads is perfectly acceptable - provided that you make it clear that your character is exiting for another location. However, 8. It's fun to meet new people. Try to bring others with you on adventures. Work as a team, and things get done easier, and it makes the experience more fun. Obviously we will not force your characters into partnerships that they may not realistically want to form until they're in a good part of their story to form them, so even if nobody replies immediately then we suggest you continue posting anyway, telling the story of your character. Main characters like Mace Windu or Count Dooku could make you form a partnership for certain missions, but only if it stays realistic to your character and the game. 9. No doing things that are impossible for most people to accomplish. If you're playing a normal character, then there's no way you'll be able to defeat the whole of the Sith Order single handedly. Even ONE Womprat at first should be a frightening opponent ![]() 10. Two character per account, at first. Once you've been with us for a good length of time (Not an exact science!), then you can have another character on the same account as long as your RP so far has shown a good standard. Chances are that we'll allow you a third character if you simply ask the staff for permission, though again we reserve the right to refuse if you've been struggling in the RP so far as it is... Also note that slaves will count not as a secondary character persé, they will stick to your own the entire time and cannot leave your character's side. They also cannot have Force Abilities or anything of the kind. They are a servant, a slave and that is all. Also, members are allowed to create NPCs known as 'Extras', these characters are meant to be used every so often, and should not give your character gain, but are merely there for the purposes of your writing. YOU CANNOT HAVE AN NPC OF AN EXISTING STAR WARS CHARACTER. 11. This is STAR WARS. That means there are NO Demons, NO Angels and NO traditional vampires. This is a whole other world than fantasy worlds like Lord of the Rings, Narnia or Harry Potter. Creatures you encounter have to be in the Starwars.com database. You cannot make up your own creatures. 12. There is to be no posts under the length of 6 lines unless circumstances prevent a longer length. The only exception to this rule is if lengthening the post means Godmoding, in which case, a post below 6 lines is allowed, also in the case of your character in conversation with another character, we will let the 6 lines rule slide. However, those are the only exceptions. Moderators and Admins will be checking. Mind you, this only goes for IC (In Character) posts, so all OoC (Out of Character) ones can be of any length depending on the topic being posted in. 13. Make a point to read other character's profiles if you can, it will help you interact with everyone better. 14. Please do your best to use standard grammar and spelling. http://www.m-w.com/ 15. You must remain active on the RPG, if you are going to be absent please post it here and state for how long. Characters that have been inactive for a month or more with no explanation will be assumed dead and added to the Character Graveyard. However, 16. If your character is killed, you have the option of having him or her cloned. It is very expensive so it is not an option for everyone. Go to the Kamino Cloning Facility for more details. 17. If you are a potential Force User, you are allowed to master five Force Powers so that members who are Jedi or Sith, do not become too powerful. You can choose any Force Power which is known in either the Star Wars Saga or the Exapanded Universe stories. However, choose wisely as a Jedi, it would not be smart to choose Dark Side Powers, it could get you expelled from the Order and also weaken you in combat with a real Sith who would be better then you. The Force Abilities you hold will be placed also in levels, the lowest being Level 1 (Lv.1) and the highest being Level 3 (Lv.3). This will also guide battles as the stronger member will be likely to win. Also if a non-Force potential encounters a Sith/ Dark Jedi/ Jedi, they are unlikely to be able to deal with them. But miracles do happen! 18. Lightsaber colours are as they appear in the movies, red for Sith, blue, green and purple for Jedi. 19. Add your character details to your profile. You can do this by selecting My Controls and selecting Edit Profile. This is also where you will place your Credit balance that must be kept updated. Having your character details on the profile will help other members know more of your character when posting, and it will make things easier to follow. RULES WILL BE ADDED AND/ OR UPDATED AS PROBLEMS OCCUR IN START UP |
