(Five years before the events of Light in the Dark)

There was too much blood…

The young girl was fighting to keep her Master alive, but there was much blood pouring from the wound in the woman’s chest. They had been ambushed in the skies over the ancient forest world of Ziost by a squadron of strange security droids. The smoking wreckage near them now was all that remained of their craft. The repairs were going to take weeks if not months to repair on their own…

Or rather…on -her- own.

Her Master, Tauras Vin, had been fatally wounded in the crash when they had impacted with the forest and ruins of an old Sith temple. How ironic, she thought…such a skilled Jedi…such a gifted teacher…not even dying in the heat of battle, but from not being belted in when their ship had nose dived down.

Sharp debris held the wound open and even she was trying everything her meager knowledge of first aid knew, she could feel her Master’s life force slipping.

“Adairon…” The woman finally spoke, though it garbled by her punctured lung and the blood that oozed from her lips.

“Master…?” Adairon could feel the sweat rolling down the back of her neck. There was still the battle droids to worry about. They would find the wreckage soon and realize there had been survivors…

Survivor… She corrected herself sadly.

“You can‘t die, Tauras…not yet. I need you…I don‘t know what to do here. Please…I can‘t do this without your guidance…” She could feel the uncertainty of things to come bubbling up on the back of her throat and hot tears in her eyes.

A hand gently touched the 16 year old Jedi‘s face and the tears did run then. “Don‘t…don‘t be afraid, Adairon…You will find a way…You are stronger than I ever could have hoped in a student…go…”

“But, Master Tauras--”

“Adairon, GO!” As if to punctuate her order, the ground began to explode with blaster fire around them.

Adairon cursed as she heard the whirring noise of the attack droids and suddenly they were on her, blasting apart the clearing in a ruthless scan for life forms. She was forced to fling herself to the ground to avoid the fire and she covered her head momentarily as a harder explosion rocked the ground.

The soft clang of metal in front of her brought her eyes to look up again and she found her Master’s saber laying there as if being offered to her. She didn’t need the Force to get her anymore of a hint. She scooped up the saber and mounted a rock fixture close by, throwing off her cloak to leave her in her dark robes and as the droids came in for a second volley, she was ready.

A scream filled the air like a battle cry and the blue saber came to life in her hand to slash apart the first droid that came toward her…

*************************************

Her Master was gone…

Her ship was a heap of twisted metal…

She had no provisions on her save for what was in her gear belt and a light saber on her hip that was not her own.

After she’d exhausted herself taking out droid after droid, she’d left the clearing full of sparking parts and burning grass. She found her Master’s body again and took the time to build a pyre for her as was custom and in the dark ancient forest of Zoist, she cremated the woman’s remains.

What was she to do now? She would need to find some sort of outpost, get word out to one of the other Masters or Elders of what had happened.

She didn’t know where to even start in the dark forest though to try and find the way. She was no Master…She was just barely at the cusp of becoming a Knight, but still a padawan in that respect.

“I should stay where I am…” She muttered to herself, letting the voice of reason take over as she went to find her cloak and wrap herself in it while she watched the suns setting and the forest darkened even more around her.

Zoist was an unfriendly world, old, and ancient. And Adairon had never felt so alone in her life as she did right now.

In the distance she heard the howls of some creature coming out as the moons began rising and she took a seat to watch the pyre continue burning. She didn’t know long it was, but eventually the exhaustion must have taken hold of her and she blinked awake to find herself slouching back on an old tree, her black-blue hair hanging in her violet hued eyes. The pyre was still going, but the fire was starting to die now…

Something had woke her.

She remained still as she listened carefully. There. A twig snapping, but she didn’t move. Something was in the clearing. Her hand moved to the saber under her cloak as she watched the beasts come into view. Hulking, misshapen beasts of a canine build. Their noses longer and filled with rows of teeth that dripped with saliva. They were savaging the wreckage for food. Her stomach turned at the thought, but atleast she had already burned Tauras’ body. They wouldn’t go near the fire.

But then…she was the only thing left on the menu.

Adairon swallowed on her fear and rose to her feet. They were natural predators…this was the way of things…but there was no way she was going to be killed by these things.

She skirted around the tree, hoping to slip away without being noticed too quickly, but as she did, she came face to face with the snarling mouth and yellow eyes of an even larger blood wolf.

She stood there a moment in morbid fascination with the ugly creature and it opened its mouth a roared in her face. She took the hint and ran as fast as she could in the other direction. The blood wolves were on her heels quickly and she had to push to keep ahead of them, feeling their claws reaching out and catching her back and shoulders every now and again.

They liked the chase it seemed…the hunt. She swore to herself, knowing she could not keep this up forever and she darted for a rock formation nearby. She needed a cave…something to hole up in where they couldn’t get to her. Cornering one’s self was generally not the best of tactics, but she had few other choices right now.

She climbed as fast as she could, knowing the wolves would have traction problems on the slick rock, but she was wrong. They bounded up the rocks even ahead of her and she swore as one came down toward her, ready to make the kill. She let herself slide backward and flipped just as his jaws would have went for her neck and she grabbed onto the branch of a tree. It snapped and cracked with her weight and she cursed lightly.

A dead tree…she was so screwed now. A glance downward told her the wolves were gathering below, licking their lips and awaiting her eminent fall. If she moved too much right now, she was going to fall…if she stayed where she was for long, she would fall.

Her fingers were being cut by the old bark as her grip was starting to slip. Below her were atleast 20 hungry mouths and thousands of teeth that would rip her to shreds.

She couldn't hang on much longer...

He'd seen the small craft, almost before he'd felt it's occupants. And if he'd felt them, he was certain someone else would too. Despite the fall of the Legion, and the Sith having centered their might on Korriban, Ziost was Ziost, and likely to have at least a few nasties kicking around.

So it came as no surprise, when turbolaser fire had lanced out from the very temple he'd come to investigate. He'd felt only a twinge of danger, however, implying that it was either concealed by a very potent Dark Sider, or more likely, that it was automated. Aside from Jedi Master Brythe Noel, machines were harder to detect than living things. Apparently, Noel had some form of strange connection to machines, through his mastery of the Force.

The small craft did it's best to avoid the incoming fire, but was hit by several grazing shots anyway, sending it spiraling into a crash. He'd felt the survivors. They were Jedi, and no real concern of his. In fact, this could be used as a distraction, to aid his mission, if he acted upon it.

With that in mind, he proceeded with haste, tempered with awareness, towards the ancient temple. He passed a high ridge, where he caught a glimpse of a battle between a younger Jedi, maybe not even a Knight yet, and numerous battle droids. Advanced models, something akin to what his father had fought, on those very fields, years ago. Improved though. And that was a sure sign he'd been sent here for a reason.

He stopped to rest, and catch his bearings, as night began to creep it's way in. From behind him, he could see the smoke, and the faint glow, of what he assumed to be a funeral pyre. He'd felt the older Jedi die, some time ago. The young woman was inexperienced, and grief stricken. There were other droids about, as well as the native wildlife...and something else, too. Something he really didn't want to bump into, from what he could tell.

You know what you have to do. Not only are you, yourself, too important, on the grand scale, to risk, but so is this mission you're on. She's the one who alerted them to where she is. Her ill planned strategy is the distraction you need, to gain entry. You......yeah. You gotta be you.... The inner battle had been mostly for the sake of saying he'd thought it over. He was already halfway back to the sight of the crash, when he heard the first howl.

Blood wolves.

By the time he'd almost reached the sight, he could feel both the girl, and a pack of some twenty wolves, closing on him fast. He swore profusely in Mandalorian, as he reached for a flash grenade from his belt, drawing on the Force to push him, as he lept into the canopy of trees, diving and twisting, as he moved from tree to tree.

As he spotted the girl, she was dangling from a branch, and that branch, was breaking. The pack was gathering below her, awaiting the inevitable. Even if she was fast, and sprung back up the moment she hit, she'd be carrying at least two or three of them up...and she wouldn't make it far enough, with the unexpected extra weight.

He launched out, as hard as he could manage, appearing suddenly in her eyesight, diving straight into her chest with his shoulder, and hooking his arm around her. They tore away from the tree instantly, arcing down towards a small break in the rocks.

The wolves were in motion instantly, not willing to lose their dinner to what they viewed as another predator. But he was one step ahead of them. As he'd launched towards her, he'd thrown the flash grenade between the wolves, and his landing target. And it went off, just as the lead wolf neared it.

He landed with a short roll, using his own body to shelter that of the girl, as they landed. He tapped her cheek softly, his eyes lit with an uncanny fiery nature, illuminating them. "Snap to it Jedi, or we're dead. On your feet, saber at the ready."

He stood, body aching, but between his adrenaline pumping, and the Force filling him, he barely noticed, as a curved hilt saber floated to meet his outstretched hand, and a gleaming red blade sprung forth from it.

She landed under him, her head thankfully protected by his hand and she was momentarily shocked by the rescue. This man had just saved her from a horrible death. At first her head was against his chest, gasping a couple breathes before he got off of her and she took a moment before rising herself at his words and her eyes searched his for a moment.

Glowing eyes…

When his red saber came to life, she reached for her Master’s and ignited the blade. He might have been concerned with the beasts for now, but they were turning away now save for a few of the braver ones and she was more focused on the greater threat before her.

“Darksider…” She damn near spat the word at him as she circled, the blue saber glowing brightly in the darkness in counter point to the red of his own.

He had saved her, yes…but that didn’t change what he seemed to be.

Was he the one that they had come here to investigate for? He had to be. He was most likely the one who had released those droids on them…he was the reason her Master was smoldering to ashes now…

Her eyes narrowed on him and she launched at him, her tired body feeling a burst of adrenaline as she swung her blade for his head, meeting with his own as he would no doubt defend himself.

“Who are you, Darksider!?”
She yelled, not really waiting for an answer before she used the Force to shove him some feet away and followed after him with another slash.

Her reaction didn't really surprise him all that much. He did tend to look the part of a Darksider, between his eyes, and the whole red saber thing. He had to wonder, briefly, how his great-grandfather had managed to portray such a stoic Jedi Master image, facing the same drawbacks. But he'd seen him, and heard him speak, even if it was only in visions, and holographic displays from the holocron. And even those ways, he'd felt the presense, that had been Hadrius Cul the second.

His saber snapped to his defense, her fury boosting her speed and strength. Bad traits, for a Jedi. He mused, preparing to parry her next blow.....only to find himself shoved back, as she struck him with the Force!

He stopped, precariusly close to a small drop, where the bloodwolves were swiftly approaching, having recovered from the flash grenade. He narrowed his eyes, sidestepping her next attack, but flashing his saber out to meet hers, to help slow her momentum, before it carried her over the edge. Then he stepped back, raising his saber in a mild defensive position.

"Listen up, Jedi girl, and listen fast. I am no Darksider. We're probably both here for the same reasons. My eyes and my saber are gifts of my heritage, my blood. And if you've studied much Jedi lore, you'll know, there have been a few of you, who carried red sabers into battle. If you still want to fight me, so be it, but it's gonna have made saving you from the wolves pointless, since they're almost to us now." He swung his saber in an arc, to point to where several of the wolves here indeed climbing, with others lining up to follow their lead.

"My name is Ra Cul, and I'm no Darksider. Stand ready, Jedi, because we're both about to be tested." He swept his saber down, in a salute, before turning his back to her, to slash at the first wolf over the top, forcing it back some. But other clawed paws grabbed hold of the ledge, and soon several more of the bloodwolves had crossed to the ledge.....

Tested, he said.

Devinia looked over the suspected Dark sider in thought for a moment before her eyes traveled back to coming Bloodwolves in thought. Time seemed to move a bit slower as her thoughts wandered.

He was a Cul. The Fire Eyes, said that plainly. He could only have been a son of a Cul with eyes like that.

She recalled the stories she had heard of his family and not all of them were the best of tales. Garrett, Amun, Hadrius… She had learned much about the line, but not about this man…whatever he said his name was.

“Remind me to thank you if we live through this.” She told him with an edge of bitter humor to her voice before she leapt into the air, not waiting on the beasts to crest the rock face before she was plummeting down into their masses.

Her saber swinging out in a wide slashing arch and her hand outstretched to shove with the Force. Atleast five of the wolves flew downward with a sudden loss of traction and they knocked down an additional couple creatures. Her blade had brought down three of the Bloodwolves, slicing them in half before she finally had to jump to avoid another, hopping onto the head of another and driving her blade downward into the skull.

The screams of the creatures filled the air and the body she was on lurched, throwing her into the air before it fell itself.

She cursed, driving her blade against the rock to slow her rapid decent before she glanced back up to Cul to see how he was fairing. They still had a good 13 beasts remaining that were quickly coming back for more with renewed lust for blood.

Correction…12. She drove her blood up through the roof of another beast’s mouth, driving up into its head, groaning as the sharp edges of the animal snapped shut on her arm.

Hissing in pain, she used the Force pry the beasts mouth open and pulled her saber out with it. Her arm was a bit mangled, but it would heal… The sleeve of her robes was coated in blood that still was bubbling up. She cursed and ripped off her belt from her waist and as quick as she could, she synced it above the elbow for a make shift tourniquet. It meant having to dodge the beasts for now rather than attack.

Ra sighed, more at the situation, than the sarcasm in her tone. He'd revealed his identity to a Jedi, and despite the more recent members, as well as many past members, of the bloodline, his great-grand father's legacy was still paramount in people's minds, so he could have expected as much.

It was the situation he found himself in, that truly caused his sigh, as it was one he could have rather easily avoided. By now, he could have reached his destination. By now, he might be well on his way to accomplishing his mission....

He lept forward, slashing at the wolves with quick, precise, cuts, trying to kill or disable each with single strokes. Time was certainly against them. But even as the girl killed wolves, matching Ra's speed, their hunger was evident, in the fact they chose to continue their attack, despite dwindling numbers.

He closed the distance to the girl, saber spinning in a defensive arc, and still trimming the number of wolves down by another two. He grimaced, as he saw her wound, then spun around in front of her, to slash a leaping wolf to the ground, as she made her makeshift bandage.

"Hardly the time to be getting undressed, wouldn't you say?" He shot her a mischiveous grin, as he spun past her again, to slice through the open jaws of a diving wolf. "I think we're down to five of the critters. Got enough left in you to handle two of them? Or do you need some rest first?"

“Are you always this kriffing insufferable?” She barked to him as she went back into the battle. Injured or not, she wasn’t going to lay down before these damn creatures that seemed almost possessed in their lust for blood.

She swung her blade in an arch for the head of the nearest blood wolf and when the body fell, she moved to the next, having to skid under the beast as another charged her and she slammed her blade up into the belly of the one above her, barely rolling out in time to avoid the thrashing beast from trampling her.

His words about handling the wolves, she scoffed to herself and moved toward him as the last beast was coming behind him as he finished off the other two. She took it in the side with her shoulder, knocking it off balance, and though the beast was much larger than her, she caught it enough with the aid of the force to make it stumble and direct its attention off Ra, who it had been attempting to pounce.

Her blade had sunk in as her shoulder had pushed into the beast and it barely could rear on her with its jaws before it collapsed with a pained howl.

She sighed heavily as she pushed herself off the beast she had landed on and deactivated her blue blade. “I can handle things just fine, thank you.” She said to him, her voice sounding more tired and annoyed than really angry with him per se, but she needed something to direct her annoyance and he just happened to be the only thing available.

Her eyes scanned the bodies of the beasts slowly in thought before she spoke again. “I might not know a lot about these things, but something is telling me that was not normal behavior.” She noted out loud. “Got any ideas what could be causing it?”

She had a few, but none of them sounded really good at all.

Ignoring the thick drops of blood that fell from her fingers in a slow beat to the forest floor, she headed off into the trees, pausing to look back and wait to see if he was coming or not. “I‘d say starting with those sith ruins is going to be out best bet…you coming?”

Ra spun out around her, his attack almost resembling a dance, in it's lethal grace. With one aerial somersault, and three quick slashes, however, the dance reached it's singed fur, and scattered pieces, conclusion.

He paused for a moment, to catch his breath, his burning eyes on the young Jedi girl, so intent in her mission. As he stood back to full height, he let out a soft laugh. "Let me guess, in your hurry to light a beacon fire to attract all sorts of nasties to, you never thought to grab the medkit from your crashed transport, did you? Cuz, right about now, it'd come in handy, to keep you from bleeding to death, or anything else stupid like that." His words were somewhat condescending, but his tone softened as he spoke them, as did his eyes, as much as they could.

He let out a long sigh. "Let's head back. After all, whoever is waiting for us, and by now, they are waiting for us, in those ruins you mentioned, is certainly not going to expect us to double back to the wreckage first. And since they haven't exactly been gracious hosts, I feel no urge to rush right up to meet them, ya know?"

Ra reached out, taking her hand, and nodded with his head towards the still visible glow from the funeral pyre. "Besides, it'll give you time for that thanks you mentioned, and maybe even enough time to tell me your name? Oh....as for the wolves? Who knows. Blood wolves are a Dark Side manipulation, from thousands of years ago....long before the Sith were a religion...."

“I‘m hardly going to bleed to death…” She said as she blinked when he reached out and took her hand that was not dripping blood. For a moment, she simply looked at their hands then up at him before withdrawing it from his hold and walking ahead a few steps before she finally felt the blood loss go to her head. Admitting her own stubbornness was not something she enjoyed, but she bit the inside of her cheek softly, keeping her back to him as to hide the flare of color to her cheeks at his words.

She didn’t like being wrong in front of this man, not one bit. It was a flaw her Master had tried relentlessly to iron out of her…

“You mustn‘t be so hot headed, child. You leave yourself open to taint. Determination is one thing…drive…but anger is another. Why are you so angry all the time?” Master Tauras Vin had sat her down for the discussion at the age of 10 and the young apprentice had shrugged in answer, not really having one, but her Master was patient and they sat and waited for a long time until Adairon had come to one.

“I‘m…I don‘t know, Master. I just…I want to do better than what the boys can…I just…I don‘t want to be left behind…”

“And that is what will put you behind, thinking in such ways. You‘re too competitive…it‘s not healthy.” Taurus sighed to herself.

“Isn‘t some competition good?” Adairon asked pointedly and Taurus tilted her head.

“Yes, but not to the extremes you take it, my dear. It will get you hurt one day…possibly killed…”

The memory faded into the back of Adairon’s mind, but it was enough for her to rethink the lessons of that day. Drawing a breath to steady herself for what she was about to do, she held out her arm to Ra.

“Let me lean on you…it‘ll get us there quicker…and I think I might pass out by the time or before we get there…” She said honestly and almost a bit miserably.

In all truth, her arm was killing her and she knew her energy was already low to nothing from the day. She shut her eyes and leaned into Ra as they headed back toward the nearly destroyed craft. “Adairon. That‘s my name. Adairon Anavitaris…”

Without any hesitation, Ra placed her arm over his shoulder. He did it slowly, and gently, so as not to jostle her and cause any new injury, or additional injury to her other arm. He smiled, and it had both warmth, and confidence. "Adairon? Pretty name. I think it suits you. So tell me, pretty girl like you....you come here often?" His voice was comforting, if a little teasing at the same time. Mostly, it was designed to help her keep focused.

He made their way, slower than he'd have liked, but with her wound, he didn't want to risk her, down towards the fire, and the wreckage. He held her tight to him, probably tighter than she'd have liked, under normal circumstances, he was certain. She was too proud. A common failing, he'd learned, in younger Jedi.

He continued to talk, mainly along the lines of flirting, as it had seemed to irritate her, so if it continued to do so, it would give her something to focus on. He would leave the practical parts of the discussion for after she was recovering.

He guided her carefully around the funeral pyre, trying to avoid letting her face it, as he crossed around to behind the wreckage, leaving her no view of it. "You sit right there, my dear, and I'll be right back with just what you need." He gave her a playful wink, and lept up onto the ship's remains, and began to rummage through the cockpit, for a medkit, and supplies. Finding food, medkit, and shelter materials, he made his way back to the injured girl.

Carefully, and with some skill, he applied a medpack to her wound, cleaning it, and sealing the wound. He then gave her a hyposhot, to administer nutrients, as well as anti-bodies. "Can you walk with help, Ada? Or do you need me to carry you. I saw a cave, on my way around this place earlier. It's small, but probably pretty cozy, and should be safe for the night."

“Is there something wrong with your processor?” Adairon asked as he returned with the medkit and supplies for them and began working on her wound. Though she tried for the most part to ignore what he was doing, the sting of the medpak and the cleaning made her hiss, but she tried not to complain.

“You think they‘d make something to take the sting out--oh…” She was in the middle of speaking with the hyposhot found her neck and she blinked for a few moments at the medicine began to circulate. She felt suddenly whoozy and head leaned against the first thing it found which happened to be Ra’s shoulder and for a moment, she could do nothing but rest there until finally she worked her way up out of the cloud of the drugs and weariness and sat up quickly.

“Thanks…” She muttered to him under her breath and released the belt on her arm to reattach it around her waist, her outer robe having been opened this whole time, displaying her garments underneath and the thought made heat once more rushed her face.

Not that she really cared for her modesty…but…

“The cave sounds like the best plan. Better than sleeping in trees. Will give us some shelter for the night while we rest up and try to formulate a plan…” She told him as she slowly got up to her feet, putting her master’s saber away on her belt and softly nodded to his last words. “I‘ll be fine…May I have a moment…?”

She went around the ship carefully to the pyre, knowing she might not be back here again for a while and she bowed her head as she came to the side of it. It had mostly burnt its was down to nothing. She said a soft prayer over the remains, bowing her head for a moment.

“Forgive me, Master. I know I was not the easiest of apprentices. You have left me in a strange position…You said I‘m strong enough, but I don‘t know anymore.” Her thoughts drifted to Ra and her voice lowered somewhat as she remained speaking to her dead Master. “I don‘t know if I can trust this man or not…he‘s a Cul after all…but at the moment it is the only path I see…”

She sighed and made a small gesture to end the prayer before she made her way back to Ra’s side and nodded to him. “Shall we?” She asked, indicating he should lead the way. Of course she didn’t know if she could trust him or not. After hearing the stories of his line and what they had done. Right now though, he was her best means of surviving this world.

And he had aided her…rescued her…even tended to her wound. Perhaps he was not all bad…

He has a demon’s eyes, Adairon…don’t be foolish. He’s no hero.

But was a hero not defined by his actions? She pondered that as they walked, remaining silent for a long time almost as if meditating, though her thoughts were a bit too brooding for that. Her Master was dead, she had nearly gotten herself killed, and she was traveling with a man that she didn’t know from a cantina rat.

For now she was feeling a little better, atleast physically to where she could walk on her own. Perhaps the hyposhot had renewed her energy for the moment. She took one of the supply kits he had taken from the ship and let him lead them off towards the cave while they walked in silence.

Finally, she did break it however as she glanced to him. “So…tell me about yourself. I‘ve heard only bad stories about the Cul line thus far…” She offered a small smirk to him, the first twitch of a smile he had seen on her face. "Care to defend your good name and dispell the rumors?"

Ra shrugged at her comment about his processor. Her thoughts about his sanity, or lack there of, really didn't concern him much. To be honest, he wasn't really sure why her safety and health did. She was a distraction that he really didn't need.

He smiled as she mentioned something to take the sting out of it, then simply finished bandaging her wound, as she rested her head on his shoulder. He could feel the warmth of her body, and he tried his best to put it out of his mind. Best not to think of such things.

He'd barely noticed her open robes, and the small view it had offered to what she wore under them, until she remembered some bit of modesty and refasted her belt, closing the robes. At that, Ra couldn't resist. Best to keep her mind as aware as possible anyway. "Shame, I was starting to enjoy the view. Thought you were off to set a new fashion trend for Jedi women everywhere.....certainly give you an edge up against male opponents, I'd think." He grinned, deftly moving away from any possible relaliatory blow that she might attempt.

He moved away, giving her the time she needed to say her farewells, and waited, if somewhat impatiently, until she rejoined him. And so, they set off in silence, each likely paying attention to not just their senses, but the Force as well, for what warnings might be yielded on the Dark world.

When she did break the silence, it was to ask him about his heritage, his bloodline. "Defend them? I think it'll take a few more generations of heroism, to wash away the evil done by Hadrius, when he shattered the galaxy. Despite his son's efforts at peace, and his son, my father's, efforts to erradicate a great evil, what the Black General did, no matter what he thought he was accomplishing, was beyond forgiving. But the bloodline goes back for more than four thousand years, and many decent Jedi populate that lineage. Sadly, with the birth of Hadrius, the line was mingled with the blood of darkness as well. So here I am, trying to make amends for things done a hundred years ago....saving beautiful Jedi girls included, of course." He grinned, as they reached the small cave. "What's your story?"

He lead them inside, and it was small, past it's opening, too short for either of them to stand, and too narrow for them to not be close by each other, as he spread a bedroll he'd taken from the ship's wreckage out, best he could, in the limited space.

As soon as she'd entered, he reached out through the Force, and pulled some brush towards it's mouth, to conceal the entranceway...

He had almost been smacked at his mention of her undergarments, her face definitely taking on a red that would have put his sabers crimson to shame. Her had had come up for a split second, but her nails quickly set into her own hand as her fist was balled up. “You‘re lucky you saved me from the wolves or I might have just left a palm print on your face that would linger for a week.” She muttered and she couldn’t help but smirk to herself at the idea of hitting him.

Yes, the idea of violence wasn’t so horrible to her, but when had she moved into getting her jollies from smacking someone. Maybe it was just him? Her head spun with the thoughts, but they were quickly pushed aside as they walked and finally came to the cave.

“Perhaps it is not the way things are meant to be? You can not be expected to right the wrongs of Hadrius Cul by yourself…they were far too great to be redeemed by one man or his offspring...” She almost laughed to herself again after she spoke. Was she starting to sound like Tauras? Perhaps she had breathed in too much smoke at the funeral pyre…

Shaking it off, she slipped into the small cave and it was indeed small. Small and cramped. She already didn’t like it. Sighing, she followed him in and looked back when she heard the vegetation move around the entrance, effectively cocooning them in. “Well, this is cozy…” She commented as she took a seat on the bedroll that covered the floor space of the cave and opened one of the packs to get out some rations for the both of them before she rested her back against the wall and chewed on a piece of dried bantha meat.

“I…well, I guess there‘s not that much to tell really…My parents were jedi…not really very accomplished or anything…they went into a pseudo retirement when I born and when it was found I was Force sensitive, they sent me off to the group that they trained with. I was eventually taken by Master Tauras Vin, the woman that was on the pyre and she has been my mentor sense I was 6...” She hesitated a moment as she looked down to the saber on her hip, feeling the heaviness of it there. “My training isn‘t even finished yet…but with her death…I suppose the trials aren‘t exactly the same for all of us. I just wish she wasn‘t dead…there‘s still so much she had to teach me…” Her voice trailed off then and if he could feel emotion at all like he should have been able to, he would feel a great sadness, a grief quietly under the surface, festering under an invisible would. It felt as if she had lost an aunt today, a sister…a best friend.

She forced the feelings down into herself as soon as she registered them and looked to him with deep violet eyes a moment in thought. She wouldn’t let this build up and make a fool of herself. She was a jedi, and she needed to remember that…needed to heed Tauras’ warnings of centering emotions and mastering them.

“Perhaps we should get some rest…things might be clearer in the morning.” And hopefully her emotions would not be so scattered as well. She needed to overcome, needed to make Taurus proud…

She was about to speak again after she had finished with cleaning up from the ratios about taking the first watch if they were going to stay on alert, but the words seemingly escaped her as her eyes shut for a moment, opened slowly and them fluttered shut again for a final time before her breathing evened. Her head tilted down as she drifted off. The exhaustion of the day combined with the shock of injury and death to her system finally did her in and she drifted off into sleep near him.

Ra listened as she spoke, and broke out rations for them to eat, setting up a small sensor unit near the mouth of the cave, before returning to take a seat, awkwardly close to her, where he ate in silence, still listening, as she spoke.

She wasn't really much for words, and long stories, it seemed, however, and weariness soon overtook her, as she drifted off to sleep, prior to asking the obvious, about watches, and such. Not that Ra was all that worried. Two Force users, and the sensor, should alert them in plenty of time, if trouble came. And anything that none of the three failsafes detected, was likely going to be more than they could handle anyway.

He unrolled a small blanket, knowing full well, without a fire, night on the ashen forest planet would be cold indeed. Laying down near her, he carefully spread the blanket across them both, and placed a pack near their heads, as a makeshift pillow.

He was sore, and tired. And the small amounts of rations they'd consumed would do little, if he didn't rest, to aid them. "Night, Ada, try not to dream, tonight, I think you'd be better not to." He whispered quietly, before curling up next to her.

It didn't take long, before Ra himself drifted off to sleep, and forgot to take his own advice, his dreams visited by the younger Jedi sleeping next to him. And, at some point in the night, whether it was for comfort, or warmth, or both, he'd never know, he placed his arms tightly, and comfortingly, around the sleeping Jedi.....

Adairon's dreams were quiet that night and despite the night being cold around them, she felt strangely warm and comfortable while she sleep. Normally her dreams were atleast filled with strange spectors. Ghosts either in the Force or in the future, but tonight all was calm.

She sleep until the first touches of sunrise in the foggy forest and when she did finally blink awake, she went very still.

Her head was snuggled up against a very warm chest, tucked under his chin like a sleeping child. His arms were around her and, to her surprise, she found her own arms locked gently around him.

No wonder the night chill hadn’t been so bad…

She was faced with a dilemma here though…either move and risk waking him from what seemed to be a deep, restful sleep, or just go back to sleep in his embrace.

A very tough decision, she realized as she stared up at his relaxed face. He looked so peaceful…it would be a shame to wake him… He looked so handsome as he slept, she thought as she studied his features for several long minutes from the slope of his nose to the lashes laying on his cheeks to the line and the curve of his mouth.

His lips looked so soft…she wondered what they might taste like…

What the heck was wrong with her?

Slowly, she made a noise as if she were just waking up and moved a bit against him, ensuring he would be woken too before she slid away from him.

“Mmm. Morning.” She muttered almost grumpily and ran a hand up into her hair before shrugging off the blanket that had held her against him and reached for the their bag for a breakfast of rations before she finally did look to him again. “So…what‘s that plan?” She asked, making no real comment on how they had woken this morning. Though if one looked close, they my see the faint trace of color in her cheeks.
