Original Poster: Leto Exellius It was his turn to the table and Leto knew the demands both the Empress Orin and her Advisor Veskin. Ontop of that they had already made their claims and agreements on grounds with Kuats highest official, so Leto was just the voice. Leto was likely the most popular among the media around the Keywork for expanding tradition, bur now among the Kuati for breaking Tradition. These were dark days and things were bound to change so he could not blame people for being upset when things moved. "The Prise are comfortable, and have no real monetary needs. 100 years of Exile and despite one single civil war we have prospered quite well and made great discoveries. However are discoveries only mean anything to us, and the outside world we are nigh oblivious to. In near time many larger factions would come upon the Prise on a Crusade to pillage our empires wealth and history. Only because we in our reemergence into the galaxy wronged you all." He spoke calmly with the sound of a sympathy and sorrow for the memories brought up. "What we the Prise need is allies... not only in war, but peace in a conquest for a better world... A pursuit of knowledge. We need to mesh with the Galaxy once more, and like thousands and thousands of years before this very meeting take the Galaxy in and give to it. We are in a need of diversity and a acceptance that we fully know we must earn." His voice grew stronger and it was not a desperate voice but a passionate one. "I have watched my public... my citizens become to ego driven...s ingle minded and vanity driven. We are not exposed to others and thus we put ourselves above others, and that I believe is a change to be made here whether my Empress chooses to see it or not. I bring a new age to my people as I give my self to the most gracious Kuati to be married as a symbol and union that bonds not only Race but two Empires, two Royal Bloodlines, two Goals." Though he diverged from a desired path he had said what he felt right. "We are a peaceful people and we wish to understand your world... your cultures... your ways. The life of the Ascendancy, the Mandalorians, the Nadeshi. We truly seek knowledge and in return we give much... home, refuge, protection to our Allies. Despite our peace we shall not be pushed around like children, and nor shall we let you." His eyes were alive with an emerald fire and he directed to everyone as he picked up a datapad and slipped a small box into the end of it. The middle desk lit up a hologram of colonies, minerals, and a unique metal. "We have on our efforts to explore unknown worlds came upon some interesting colonies we would wish to share with you in a united scientific branch. These worlds are unique as our data concludes they are beyond average and gems in their own natures. Upon that we have come upon a massive deposit of a truly one of a kind metal that is special as it is the strongest metal we know to exist yet but has the visual properties of glass when cooled. We use it for decorational pieces... but we have not tried to yet to construct any ships out of it. We are still examining its full nature as it is peculiar." Slowly moving to his guard Irruli he unsheathed the side dagger that held royal ettchings and designs to show that this Captain was of considerable rank and skill. Leto stands and lays the dagger down in front of the Mandalorian delegate and nodds with a smile. The blade shimmers a myriad of prismatic colors when hit by light. "Fett I assume as to your notable lineage and your most decoarated and honored people a Mandalorian can respect a make of a blade not only by its designs and proportions, but also of its composition and strength. Test it for us if you may. We of the Prise feel you may be ALL pleased with this new metal. It is what we dub Gossanium." Leto sat down but not before he gave the Fett a respectful bow and a sign of respect with his hand to his chest to the Mando's heritage. He looked to everyone else understanding not everyone would be pleased with this. "Also as a people we are digging alot of useful knowledge from our Ancestors and their past. Though most high level knowledge we deem illegal and very dangerous, we do find things that are universally genius. We have found vast new way to Terraform... not through synthetic means but actually replicate and heal the organic worlds from their industrial decay. We learned much and adapted from old Vong technologies and some areas to update our own." With click of his data pads, outlines, blueprints, and holographic designs of ships and battle cruisers popped up displaying vast prototypes. "As you can see this is demo technology, but our Sciencetific Research groups urged me and the queen to show you this. As you can guess they are very eager to work with your own people, especially the Chiss. We have much more, but this is a delegation and I understand we do not have forever. I hope you will all be pleased with this." Sitting and shutting off the holo projector he nodded to each delegate respectfully. "For the All Mother and her snowing ash like rain... it blesses us with good fortune here today. For the Prise our banner is prosperity and peace, and we hope for you all to be able to embrace similar sentiments as we begin to embrace yours." He ended his part and he stayed quiet but curiously watching the Mandolorian and his inspection of the Blade and metal. |

Original Poster: Ra Cul Maz cleared his throat softly, and smiled, as he keyed a holoprojector. What shimmered to life, closely resembled a streamlined, modern, and advanced looking Star Destroyer. "Ladies and Gentlemen. Allow me to introduce you to Kuat Drive Yards latest endeavor. The DawnStrike Class Star Destroyer." ![]() "We were contracted, a little over a year ago, by, believe it or not, a private firm. They asked for a single cruiser, based on the old Star Destroyer designs, but implementing some new innovations. Much of this new format, they even submitted. The prototype has just been finished, and we expect one of their agents to come, and take the vessel for a shakedown cruise within the week. As part of the contract, six months after the vessel's been tested and approved by it's buyers, KDY owns exclusive rights to build, and sell, as many as we'd like." Maz keyed up technical specs for display next. "As you can see, it's bridge is centered, rather than in the tower area. It's shielding and firepower put it in a class with the old Imperials, yet it's somewhat smaller than the older Victories. It's easily one of the fastest and most manueverable vessels in it's size class ever designed. And it needs only a crew of around five thousand, to fully staff it, though it can run with some efficiency on less than a thousand. The prototype has some peculiar modifications, making it Force user friendly, allowing it to be run with far fewer crew, potentially battle ready with under a hundred crew members. This modification roughly doubles it's sale price, however." D'Yfett let out a slow whistle. "Alright, Maz. We're impressed. Looks like you've managed to include most of the last hundred years couple advances into this thing, from the specs. What's it cost? I'm sure the Mandalore would be interested, if it's affordable." Maz grinned. "I have the authority to tell you, we can begin taking orders for the vessel, at any time, though no deliveries, until our current contract stipulations allow. Figure the first few will be ready for pick up in around seven months or so. Construction has already begun, on the frame, and certain components of several more, without the Force modifications." He tapped his console, and more design specs displayed, followed by purchasing information. "To a standard company, or government, we're setting the asking price of thirty five million credits. Ten milion more than a retro Imp class. I've been authorized to offer a twenty percent discount, to members of any official alliance, that might come of this meeting, along with preferential order and delivery options." Maz keyed the image of the ship up, once more, before shutting down the display. "We have several stations of shipyard, available for refitting, to produce Chiss or Nadeshii vessels, though we'd need design specfics, of course, to custom these drydocks." D'Yfett nodded, obviously impressed by the vessel, and the Kuati preparations. Maz and his superiors had obviously arranged all these people to be present at the same time, for this very purpose. "The Nadeshii mentioned hypercomm. It's fine, but time comsuming. Kuat to Nadeshii is a few day delay, in communications. We need a conserted effort, pooling each individual results, to wipe the virus from the holonet. To truly be an effective alliance, we can't afford long delays. Even if we invite the Hutts, their communications relay would still put the alliance at a few days, to react to hostilities to it's co-members. We need better than that." |

Original Poster: Fjett d'Elteh Gharna answered the Mandolorian efficiently, "Unless any of us have a better idea, what we have is the best we have, and until we come up with a solution to the Holonet problem, we will have to rely on that." These were brash people to whom she had made a brash statement, but it seemed befitting for the moment - particularly with the statement Captain Yer made very shortly after, consisting of, "<Don't forget, our enemies will suffer the same problems with communication as we will. A coordinated effort could be disasterous - but without the Holonet, once sent, a force could not be recalled, and potential successes the opponent percives in such a wide plan that fail in reality would cause drastic confusion in the ensuing days.>" The Operator translated monotonly, and without blinking. Although some meaning in tone was lost, obviously, the conveyance of the old man in his native tounge seemed to ascend it. ((OOC; Sorry, MAJOR writer's block...)) |

Original Poster: Teslan Teslan studied the design carefully. The Dawnstrike was indeed an impressive vessel, and surely an asset to any fleet. However, Chiss technologies varied from those of most other species. Surely, changing the design drastically enough to accommodate the hardware used by his people in their hyperspace beacon system would make the new design anything but cost efficient. Besides, the new design modifications he had made to the Chiss Destroyers would make them a formidable ship themselves. Perhaps not quite on par with a Dawnstrike but to each his own. "The Dawnstrike is indeed a most innovative vessel. However," Teslan said taking his eyes of the projection long enough to glance at Maz, "I believe the Chiss will simply pay for their usual services. I have of course brought the latest designs with me. As far as our communication dilemma goes Gharna is right. We can only work with what we have and we can't afford to wait very long for a better system to arrive. Even if we all set our best in the same room to work out a solution, it could take years." ((sorry just tossed something up to get things jumpstarted hopefully?)) |

Original Poster: Leto Exellius "As far as supplies go the Prise have fully stocked and prepared our quota to meet any of your demands. I have taken liberty to put in our own Trade customs and embargo amendment to allow all passage and untaxed trade from those who share bond and immunity with in this Alliance. This will show up in the legal threads here." Leto brought up the Alliance treaty on each of the represenitives consoles. He would then proceed to the section of trade agreements. "Though my Empress would not allow this and place this in the alliance without cost... I have made a request that we wish to have 10 of each Members Research of Development to assist our own scientific crew to expand our knowledge of the universe. I feel it is an even trade since each of your citizens will receive accommodation for all their needs along with having constant communication with your governments and embassy's on our Planet States." Settling his eyes off the control council and looking up to them. "I have also made personal arrangements allowing 20 of my personal Scientific crew members to assist each of you in your own rightful persuits. The Prise with my help will be able if you allow us to fully realize our potential with cooperation.Communication should not be too much of a problem if we set up way points through our areas. Despite my Empress hesitance towards any others than the Kuati I strongly believe each of us are in a position that backstabbing one another would be purposeless and futile furthering this Galaxies chaos." His eyes sank deep as he looked at each man measuring them in his thoughts. "Each of us has the potential or are Great Leaders. We are on the precipice of a change. With admiration and vigilance I take full pride in my choice today. You need not ask me if I believe or not. My Loyalty while it rests within the heart of my men..." Leto's gaurds in the back held a composure of joy and honor in his words and he continued to speak. "My loyalty is also branching out to each of you. While the prise may not be the strongest amongst this union we hold custom as scholars and warriors to aid a fellow men. Like our ancestors before us we gift not only the Humans but the rest of the Galaxy with our treasury." With that he began to sign his signature into the agreement. "The rest of this meeting I understand it is an overview of plans, but stepping away from plans we must know eachother as men. We must say with dignity where we place the greatest faith. And it is now I hope the rest of you would follow me in signing." Leto maintained a glow and strength taking time to urge thoughs in the room finalize this agreement. There was a youthfulness to his words as he spoke. He had to be the youngest in the room of representatives. He was a next generation of this dark era's youth. In this dark time whether it was his absence from the rest of the Galaxy or his inborn preservation... Leto remained optimistic and with a smile. |

Original Poster: Ra Cul D'Fyett nodded slowly. "All of this is fine and good. But any alliance we make must have some solid goals, attainable goals, for the immediete future, and the long term future as well. Improved communications should rank as our highest priority. What the Nadeshii delegates missed, it it won't take a conserted effort, nor a coordinated one, to assault a single member of this alliance, merely good timing. Their attack could be over and done with, days before any other alliance member even knows the attack took place. And there is one other group of people we should consider how we will deal with, either as allies, or as a potential threat." Maz arched an eyebrow. He'd known this part of the discussion would be coming, and so he took the floor. "You refer to the Jedi, I believe? Yes, the Jedi have continued to survive all their enemies attempts to make it otherwise. Though small in number, they are widespread, and it would be foolish to assume that even now, they were unaware of this very meeting. How we treat this ancient order will affect much of what we do. On the one hand, courting an alliance with the Jedi grants us much towards legitimacy. It grants us those who, as a group, have ever struggled towards balance and peace. But on the other hand, over the countless centuries they have existed, the Jedi have marred their reputation many times, and much of the trust they once had is lost, maybe forever. I know I need not remind anyone, that the Black General was once a Master among their Order." D'Fyett snorted. "The Kuati were once strong supporters of the Empire, as were the Chiss. The Prise are little known, and by the few who do know them, they are known to both be Force users, and supporters of the Jedi. The history of the Mandalorians, both the people, and it's mercenary guild, are well documented with war. The Nadeshii are isolationists, who once almost left the galaxy to burn, rather than be involved in it. Offhand, I'd say the Jedi Order would fit in well with this little alliance." |

Original Poster: Tiesa Asheni Tiesa wandered through the ship, back and froth outside the door to the meeting area where the Kuati Chief Admiral was representing them in a meeting of alliances and peace. She scoffed at the thought of pacifism that she knew would be a central theme within the meeting, she'd become a fighter after her father's death, to her fighting was a better solution to anything than calm words and peace. Sighing as she leaned up against the wall she was still plotting of how to get out of her arranged marriage to one of the representatives in that room. It wasn't that she resented her mother for choosing to risk everything to try and bring more prosperity and peace to Kuati people, no it was the fact that that man was a pacifist, a trait Tiesa had come to hate more than any other quality. For months since she had heard the announcement she had tried to think of ways to get out of it, finally coming to the conclusion if she could fake her death then it would be the perfect oppurtunity to worm her way out of this. Now all she had to do figure out a way to make it look convincing and then high tail it off of Kuat if nessesary, which of course she knew it would be. "Think Tiesa, think...." She muttered to herself over and over again. "How can you do this?" |

Original Poster: Fjett d'Elteh Ten researchers? What areas? What fields? Certainly, there were altogether too many areas to be picked from - the programmers, the people working on cracking the damn virus or developing the algorithm to counter the white noise it blares out; the biologists, constantly working on immunizations from the billions of diseases for each population that happens to inhabit the Nadeshi Republic; the economists, keeping and projecting Nadeshi's decenteraised economic stability, a keypoint in their free-market system; the chemists/physicists, working on better materials; not-to-mention the entire Artificial Intelligence and Cybernetic Integration Institute, advancing its own name (figuratively)... Well, isolation proved quality in product and scientific pursuit. Speaking of economy, the Prise treasury - the Nadeshi Republic would have to wait and see about the treasury-deal - it had a very high potential to destabilise their economy. The generation that could remember the chaos "unbounded debt: could have during the banking collapse. Foreign loans had been banned, as well as a private bank's proportion of liquidity had to be equal to its operations in Nadeshi space, or risk inspection - And there certainly were regulators. Yes, normally in a free-market economy, regulations bred stagnation - but the Nadeshi Republic's market was free only in nonessential areas. The lesson was learned. Her thoughts on the Jedi were that they would, in the NR's eyes, at least could bring an additional air of culpability of a newfound alliance. The Jedi's training rang a similar tone as the martial tone of the Nadeshii, who were still the population's majority. In fact, intel still kept tabs on a few - certainly for this sort of situation. Inara Gharna winced at the fact that the Nadeshii had left the galaxy to burn. But it certainly was the truth - The Galactic Civil War, the Nadeshi Northern Union had no intention of waging war in such a new time setting - it would most certainly have been fatal. During the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, the Nadeshii had imposed self-quarantine, done also during the crisis that ended the last Age. She was taught taught it was in the best interests of survival, but... one could only wonder what they could have done. "It is certainly in the Nadeshi Republic's own interest to join this alliance. We certainly have the bread to feed the peoples here, all we ask in return is replenishment of our soils." Which was the truth. Although some may find it revolting, fodder provided Nadeshi's already fertile soil with the sustinance to grow and to maintain; a better alternative then the fertilisers and methods that ruined Ubios III a grainworld now desert after it could no longer export its crops to Courscant. "And for this alliance to cement, we certainly would like to extend an arm of faith, as given by our Prime Minister," she continued, going off to the full extent of what she thought she could prove worth. "The Nadeshii can not only lower tariffs to members, but also can provide whatever communication lines we decide upon's security. I can guarantee you that our services are impeccable - if you wish to understand, we'll create some transmissions for you to attempt to decrypt." She held her breath momentarily. "We also have dossiers on several worlds that span important areas of space. Yag D'hul, Thyferra, Courscant, Eriadu, Sluis Van, Fondor, Borleias, and Abregado-Rae, to name a few. At most six-months updated. Enough information to, say, create a good idea of what we're dealing with. At least mainly in areas of space surrounding us. We have less of an idea the farther away we get, but I'm sure, with co-operation of members, we can assemble a massive database of information." |

Original Poster: Teslan As the treaty appeared on the console, the voices of the other delegates became distant. Teslan already knew what most would say. Each would make a show of adding their name to the agreement and at the same time make promises of what they will contribute, promises he doubted would hold. Over the years many alliances were forged in this manner and none withstood the test of time. Still, Teslan set aside his inherent distrust of others and quietly signed the treaty, adding nothing to the agreement. With his government now committed, Teslan brought his attention back to the discussions in time to hear the other delegates' views on the Jedi. "And what makes you think the Jedi would be willing to join this alliance D'Fyett? What would they have to gain by associating themselves with us? True, we seek a common goal but from what I have heard today, unless the methods the Jedi employ have changed drastically since last I checked I do not think they will agree with our ideology," he snorted, "Besides, the Jedi are no longer to be trusted. I think for the time being we should consider ourselves fortunate that any alliance at all is possible. Let us first solve the Holonet issue, perhaps find a way to make our communication channels immune while leaving those of our adversaries infected. Then, once we have gained solid footing and our governments are stabilized, we can look into bringing others into the fold." Teslan turned his attention back to his console and began studying the treaty he had just entered into. So far as he could tell, the jedi had nothing to offer them save for a level of respectability with those who still followed the old ways, a respectability they did not need. |

Original Poster: Leto Exellius "Jedi... Yes, they may be of great use. However even though my cultures great heroes have been Jedi we have taken distance to them. So do not be shocked when my people and myself stand a middle line. Custom is to respect a Jedi, but keep distance at all times." Leto spoke with a hesitance. It was an unpredictable partnership which could bring a great prejudice against there cause. As much as the galaxy has prospered from the Jedi's cause it has paid almost equally for supporting it. There are always those who oppose the Jedi, and sometimes they hold seats of importance. Leto would steal himself for a few seconds pondering, "It is not just the Jedi we should call for. There must be some larger society of Force Users or renegade group who has not taken a particular stance. If we contact Force Users in a general then we may have a solid pact. Jedi are too strong of a name and carry too much history. Thus I must caution how we would use that history." A sigh escaped from his lips as he gentley sunk back into his seat. It would come off as a bias from a Force Neutral nation such as the prise. The prise did not prohibit exploration in neither knowledge of the common poles of the Force Spectrum as long as the practitioner was not disrupting society. This is where an alliance wth the Jedi would garner mixed reviews from his people. On the other end he did not trust the Jedi finding some political flaw in their views, this would be the same for the SIth. To him they could not hold a political circuit without coming off blinded by faith or grinding against their own code for favor. Leto kept himself still as this was not a choice he could make. This was a choice where would majority would have to take his vote. |

Original Poster: Tiesa Asheni Teisa closed her eyes as she sank down against the wall thinking, always thinking. She growled, she thought too much, too much for her own good at times, then again at others not enough. She cursed her uncle for teaching her that little habit. She lay her head in her hands as she sat there listening to the low din of the voices in the other room. Red eyes, like fire, like blood stared at her, through her. They seemed to burn in the darkness that surrouned them. Instinctually she tried to reach out to see what was around those eyes but saw nothing, just the eyes wrapped in darkness. As she tried again it shifted pulling back almost to show the person behind the eyes. It was a vague image at best but still a person, a man not doubt. The image changing between both the man and a Star Destroyer for a few moments before dissipating all together and leaving Teisa in the darkness of her closed eyes agian. Shivering as she opened them suddenly she looked around though she only saw the hall that she had been in the whole time. Wrapping her arms around herself she bite her lip wondering what had just happened. It shook her more than a little, she hadn't had that happen to her in a long time and the last time it had something terrible had happened, as it was the day her father had died. |

"Jedi, or no Jedi, is a discussion we can continue to have along the way. We can also open a diplomatic channel to the Jedi Order, and begin a negotiation period, if we'd prefer, keeping things on our own time table that way." He stood, straightening his uniform. "I would suggest we retire for the moment, and take some time to go over the specifications of this treaty. Meanwhile, I have been informed that the buyer for the DawnStrike prototype is on his way here. His expected arrival time is only a few hours away. And that he is anxious to take his vessel for it's shakedown cruise. You will all get to see the launch of a new age of starship technology, firsthand." They, certainly, would probably be supportive of our move." Gharna paused, adding, "We see, as time goes on." She thought that, to say so in front of so many dignitaries, it would be rude to start talking about financing the destroyer. In the meantime, to at least cover the anticipation of the event, Gharna said, "I think all of us would be pleased to have a demonstration - would you be so kind as to introduce us to the ship's owner?" Gharna knew that they probably wouldn't get to meet the persona - It was all up to him/her anyway. It wouldn't be a bad idea, to be at a forum of the galaxy's new-most-powerful organisation - but it might be a bad idea 'if things headed south'. Probably not a good idea on a sheerly conservative standpoint. But all speculation. She could ask and get an answer, or not have an answer to her mental excersize. |

Original Poster: Ra Cul Maz smiled, the very smile of the cat that had caught it's bird. "Why, the only reason I asked, is because news of his impending arrival also came with a request to ask any foreign dignitaries who might be present, the oppurtunity to see the capabilities of the modern age warship. Apparently, he means to put on a demonstration, for your benefit." Maz thought nothing of the odd additional request. Kuat always had foreign dignitaries. And the deal on the DawnStrike prototype had been lucrative for both parties. In fact, it had been the buyers, who had financed the building of production lines to fit the Chiss and Nadeshii specifications. The fact those production lines had already begun construction on flagship models for each force that was somehow assembled here, did raise a moments notice, however. The fact each of these models had had their downpayment paid by the buyer, had drastically reduced their sale prise....but how had the buyer known? |

It's bad enough you drew us all in for a meeting without allowing us to prepare and now this? Any other surprises in store?" The longer he stayed here, the more he didn't like what he was hearing. At first he didn't think twice about how strange it was to have so many delegates at the same place since there was a clear benefit to his agenda. Now though, there was talk of Jedi and mysterious individuals with the power and credits to purchase a custom built elite war cruiser. Best of all was that this person knew they would all be there. "As much as I appreciate what has happened here, I do not like being manipulated Commander," he snarled, "Still...are we talking a first hand demonstration or are we to watch from the sidelines of an observation lounge here on the station?" |
