Rules Concerning This Site and its Content: • The administrator has the final say on all decisions concerning the RPG. Members will be allowed to give their input and they will take into consideration that input. But the final decision, is left to the Administration team about all issues that arise, there will be no backtalk or second guessing when a decision has been made. • Members are prohibited from posting links to sites containing inappropriate content such as porn, cracks or other illegal content. Spamming is also not allowed (irrelevant or redundant posting) as well as inappropriate advertising. Links will be removed upon discovery and members will be issued a warning. Repeated offense will warrant a permanent ban. • You are responsible for anything that you place on this site (Images, graphics etc). Pornography and other inappropriate pictures and graphics are not allowed! • Sexual activity IS allowed. However we will be very strict on those who do not post a separate closed thread for this activity and place the proper [RATED: MA] in the title. Again, it must be shown in the Title. Honestly, I find a fade-out much more tasteful but if you want to play out your fantasies, well be my guest I suppose. Concerning Members • What you choose to reveal on this site is your own responsibility. It is in your best interest to refrain from divulging personal details and information. Please do not give anyone your password as this gives the person to edit or delete any of your posts. • You are responsible for what you post in this RPG. If your work is stolen and used on another site, we will assist you, but we are not responsible for the damages incurred and won't be held accountable. • That being said, if you happen to stumble across someone using your work on this site from another site and can prove the work is your's, we will take down the work and ban the member who stole the work. • Plagiarism of any kind will not be tolerated. • Most importantly, members are required to show each other respect. You may not harass or threaten other members. Disrespectful behavior, such as derogatory comments containing racism, homophobia, or foul language will not allowed. Please be respectful to all members, regardless of age or experience. Duties of an Administrator and Moderators • Just as there as responsibilities for the members to uphold, there are for the administrator and moderating team. • Enforcing the rules. • Maintaining the board and site. • Editing or deleting posts when necessary: situations include when a member has requested me to, or when I see a violation of the rules. Any edits will be marked. Registration • You must read the rules and all information pages on CotF prior to filling an Character Bio Form. • This RPG is designed for mature audiences. Please do not join if you are offended by violence, sex, strong language, or mature subjects. There is no technical age limit -- if you think you can handle it, by all means. If not, no one is forcing you to play this RPG. Gameplay • Posting should be daily. If you are to go on vacation or a leave of absences, please let the people you RP with know. • You may only control your own characters. • No godmodding. Godmodding is when you make your character practically invincible and all-powerful, which is unfair for other players, and is, well, boring. • Character Deaths are enabled, however it is not something that should done lightly. We want this to be an Roleplaying game based around a storyline, not a competition. If you engage in a duel with another member and find that there is no other way out other than to kill the member then do so, if not try to be merciful and let them leave minus a limb or with a grievous wound. Also, keep in mind that deaths are enabled and should you enter a situation that you would not plausibly walk away from, your character may die. • Cursing is allowed. • As we cannot hear your voice, make your intentions clear. • Your profile must be accepted before you start roleplaying. Any requests made by an admin to your bio will be followed; if not then your bio will not be accepted. It really is that simple. • Story’s can be solo or joined by other members. Please indicate accordingly in the first post. • You are allowed to join in more than one story thread, as long as the do not conflict or alter anything in any other story threads you are apart of.. • Label all out of character comments in story threads will "OOC." • ALL CAPS IS SHOUTING. Unless your character is going to shout all the time, then don’t post in all caps. And if you want them to shout, please, use an exclamation point (!) instead of all caps. • If you are responding in a long thread, specify to whom you are speaking when necessary. • As they reflect upon you, please be mindful of your spelling, punctuation and grammar before posting. • Do not spam the board. • Please make your IC posts at least two paragraphs in length, with at least 4 sentences in each paragraph. Obviously, out of character your posts will not be susceptible to this rule. • No one line posts. • When you post In Character, post in the third person. Character Creation • You are allowed to have more than one character, as long as you have a different account for each of them. • You are not allowed to use pre-made characters from external sources, i.e characters from books, video or games. • You must post a fresh Bio form for each new character you make after joining. • Each character must have their own profile, and account. • Your character may not be a canon character from the Star Wars movies or comics. • If your character is force sensitive, you can only use the canon powers. What are the canon powers? Click here. These are the accepted canon of the site. • Inversely, when you use a lightsaber you do not need to learn the classic forms if you don’t want to. You can make up your own lightsaber fighting style should you so choose, if you choose to stick to the formal style that’s good too. And if you wish to just use a sword, and have no need for the forms that’s cool too. • We've all been on Star Wars RP's that are filled with Jedi and Sith and the whole story seems revolve around that. In the Star Wars Universe however, force sensitives are far outnumbered by non force sensitives. Here at CotF, we'd like to keep to the spirit of Star Wars as much as possible. So you are allowed to start with two force sensitive characters, and if you want to take on another character immediately you will be allowed to do so, so long as he/she is not a force sensitive one. To take on another force sensitive character you must have 100 IC posts each with your first force sensitives. So to recap, for a non-force using character there are no post requirements to get one, to get a force using one after your initial ones 100 posts each. Combat: • While combat is one of the aspects of any Star Wars RP, let's remember that it's only one part of an RP. An RP should be about the characters, the story and having fun. When you make it entirely about combat it becomes a competition, not a game. With that in mind here are the rules to combat on this RPG. • For duels and/or small clashes between groups, there are two choices available to you: 1. The Honor System: A fight where the outcome is decided upon writing skill and your character's skill. In this system if an attack seems like it should hit you then it probably should be written as hitting you and then your reaction. 2. An Agreement: You and your opponent PM each other and decide before the battle begins whose going to win the battle and how long it will last. • For both of the preceding rules there are obvious factors that need to be taken into account. For example, if you are a Jedi Apprentice you are not going to beat a Sith Lord in one on one combat. Just the same, if you are a Sith Lord, yes you will be powerful, but you will be hard pressed to beat a group of 5 Jedi Knights or 30 Trained Soldiers. Another factor would of course be items that your opponent has, if an opponent has a Ysalamir you will be force negated and the battle would be decided by combat ability. • For the "Wars" part of Star Wars, mass battles will be on the honor system. It'll go something like this, although with more detail. "Player A moved his troops to point A." "Player B moved his troops to the ridge of point B, overlooking Point A. When Player A's troops arrived at Point A, Player B opened fired." "Player A heard the sound of blaster fire as Soldier 1 got hit by a bolt and fell to the ground, he knew he'd been ambushed. Taking cover in the dense trees, he blah blah blah" You get the picture. Oh, in your profile where it says "Have you read the rules?" Put "That's no moon!" • In any instance where the honor system devolves into bickering between players, the Administrator will step in and make a final decision that will not be disputed. Basically, I'll look at the situation and make a judgment as to who would win. If it's clear one party would win, but the other person is just being stubborn then the first party will be declared the victor. On the other hand if both parties are equal in power then it could come down to me just flipping a coin. NOTE: These rules can always be edited, and if a new rule has been entered or edited it shall be in Red coloring to indicate it being a new rule, and a response in this topic will pop up with the date of the new added rule and when it comes into effect. Conclusion I, Ramis, as the Administrator of Star Wars: Chronicles of the Force, promise to you, the members, to provide impartial decisions and a fun Galaxy to play in. Have fun out there.
