The Mainer of the Random Button

Well, yesterday was my 18th birthday.

I decided to spend it at a debate/forensics tournament down at Exeter. I entered in Prose and did not make it to semi finals. However, in Improv Duet Acting (IDA), my partner and I placed 7th out of 8 in the Final Round.

The things I got for my birthday were: Diddy Kong Racing DS, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Batman, a "specialized gaming mouse", 2 mini-tables for college, and approx. 100 dollars.

Not great, but not bad either.

You can bet the money will be used for more games.

I think I'm going to do some mini-reviews now. More detailed ones perhaps when I get further along in the games.

Diddy Kong Racing DS - I never played the original so I can't compare them. This game, well, its a racing game and most racing games are virtually the same nowadays. THe only differences is that in this one you have a car, plane, and hovercraft.

Sonic Chronicles - A very different take on both Sonic and RPGs. Starting out years later after Eggman's "final defeat" a strange new enemy has arisen. You guide Sonic and 10 others around the map completing puzzles and defeating enemies. I'm having mixed feelings about thisw game as I am a huge fan of traditional RPGs with this one being a very UNtraditional RPG.

Lego Batman - Awesome. This game is great. Especially the Wii version. The opening movie shows the villains escaping from Arkham Asylum and dividing up into 3 groups headed by The Riddler, Penguin, and Joker. You start with Batman and Robin and take down the 3 groups in the 3 chapters of the game. But once you complete a chapter, that's where things get interesting. For every chapter you complete, you can take control of the villains and play through their version of the chapter. So, who will you choose, the Heroes or the Villains?

Lego Indiana Jones - Only played through one level of Chapter one, so I'll write this mini-review later.
