The only plausable options are Dixie, K. Rool, Funky, and Cranky. Funky's got muscle and the largest potential for a movepool. In addition, he's the first non-playable Kong to appear in a Mario spin-off, and did so before Kiddy, Lanky, Chunky, or Tiny. He even got into Mario Kart before Dixie, which is quite an impressive show.

However, he is built very much like DK, and has no impressive qualities other than his rage with the machine. I'd put him in as possibly an alternate costume for Donkey Kong or an assist trophy, but a playable character he shaln't be.

Then we come to Dixie, Cranky, and K. Rool. I'll have to put Dixie on the chopping block now. Other than the hair helicopter spinny-thingy, she has no abilities that Diddy himself doesn't have. However, a little code of her WAS found in Brawl's data, and though it was only a few bytes, it still shows that she MAY have been in the planning for Brawl, along with Mewtwo and Roy. However, her lack of appearances in Mario Kart, not to mention diminishing popularity, makes me really "iffy" on her. I have to put her below Cranky and K. Rool.

The only reason Cranky's lasted this long in my elimination process was because of who he was. Back in the day, he WAS Donkey Kong, THE boss, the FINAL boss and the first boss, and THAT GODDAMN MONKEY WHO WON'T STOP THROWING THOSE EFFING BARRELS AT ME! Since then, his character has evolved so far. Really, he could easily be used as a retro WTF throwback with a Donkey Kong Arcade-based Final Smash. However, while I find this to be a move that the Smash Bros team would most likely pull, I just think that Cranky fits better as an Assist Trophy.

Then we get to King K. Rool, big boss, big villan, big beer belly. How people can see him as a clone of Bowser, I have absolutely no idea (seriously, HTF does K. Rool breathe fire?). His potential for a moveset is large, his character is excellent, he fits in the heavyweight category where a select few stand, and he works perfectly as an additional villan. He easily trumps the likes of Giovanni, Captain Syrup, Vaati, Black Shadow, Kamek, Revolver Ocelot, Dr. Eggman, and whatever other villan you want to throw out of Nintendo's grab bag of 'em. Truly, could there be a better third representative of the Donkey Kong series? I think not.

Amen, bruddah.

And now, I have the urge to play Donkey Kong 64. But I'll ignore it and instead look at old game reviews...

I hear it was a great game. Never got the chance to play it, just the original DKC trilogy (in which I though DKC3 was actually... Meh)

Never played DK64?! GASP!

Anyway, yea King K. Rool would be the best but I'd LOVE to see Eggman ^^

Meh, DK64 was too collection-based to really get huge enjoyment out of it. It felt like a middleground between the first two Banjo-Kazooie games, and really, it just wasn't as good as either. Good, but not THAT good.

Though DKC2 was an awesome, awesome game. DKC1 was great, and DKC3...playable...pretty fun, though not the best...

Not to revert the subject back a few posts but, I don't think Eggman would really make it in Smash as a playable character... ever. Though he would be cool in his Egg Copter as a boss.

BTW, sounds like DKC and DKC2 rule the Donkey Kong world, even today. I love those games. :D

Multiplayer, huh? Sort of the reason I play Star Fox Assault a lot. Its multiplayer is awesome, even though its Story Mode is lacking. (I beat it within a total of a few weeks, only to have my gameplay written over by accident)
