Alright, time to show you how to really make an Adventure. Name: Shadow Moses Island Quality Image: http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/stages/images/stage13/stage13_071002a-l.jpg Origin: Metal Gear Solid Character Used: Snake Opening Cutscene: Before this stage begins, players will be asked what their favorite Metal Gear Solid game was, with the options being "I haven't played any, I like MGS1, I like MGS2, I like MGS3, and I like MGS4". If "I haven't played any" is selected, the game will play as normal. MGS1 causes guards to act less aggressively toward opponents. MGS2, humorously, causes Snake to wear a Raiden mask instead of a scuba mask during the opening cutscene. MGS3 changes the properties of the area boss, as well as his dailogue. MGS4 causes Snake to go through the level as Old Snake. After he completes the level, he will unlock an Old Snake alternate costume that reduces his speed but increases his weight. Anyway, the game starts much like the intro to Metal Gear Solid, where Snake, outfitted in scuba gear, is swimming toward an underground elevator near Shadow Moses Island. Eventually, he gets out of the water and starts hiding behind a column. He then hears his codec ring, which he answers. Colonel Roy Campbell and Snake have the following exchange: "Good, you made it back alright. I was worried you might slow down in your old age." "Look who's talking, Colonel." "Well, you've got me there, Snake. But focus." "I know, Colonel. You wouldn't call me back to this freezing assylum otherwise." "Well Snake, a strange new type of soldier has been seen here. They appear to have technology that far surpasses anything of the current age." "Extraterrestrials, Colonel?" "Nah, I don't believe in that. You've been spending too much time with Dr. Emmerich" "Spare me, Colonel. What's the mission?" "Your mission is to eliminate the enemy from the base by any means necessary, and stop any activity they might be up to." "Activity?" "We...fear that...REX...might...." "Got it. Shut down Metal Gear." "I knew I could count on you, Snake" "It's showtime." Snake then peels off his mask and begins the level. Layout: The level begins in the underground storage area of the original Metal Gear Solid. There are three large boxes that Snake must run across. In the gaps between the boxes, there are two Primids each. Snake must take out these Primids in order to continue. However, if he is seen by one of the Primids, they will get the classic MGS "!" mark over their heads, and will summon five more Primids to help them. Therefore, it is suggested that Snake take down the Primids using Nikitas or Grenades from atop the boxes. After defeating the Primids, on the far, right side of the room, an elevator will drop. Snake can ride this elevator up to get to the next area. Snake will be taken to the heliport of Shadow Moses Island. A few Fire Primids are in front of Snake. However, these Primids do not trigger an alert if they see Snake. After going on a straightaway for a while, Snake will reach the actual helipad, where two searchlights are moving from the stage to the background. The spotlights are the size of Giga Bowser, and have a gap the size of Snake between them. Snake can get past these with proper timing. However, if he is seen by one, even for a moment, tons of Primids, Bytans, Floows, Mites, and even a few GENOME Soldiers armed with SOCOM pistols will surround him. After sneaking or fighting through the helipad, Snake will approach the front of Shadow Moses Island. He can then use a nearby ladder to climb up to the top, where a ventalation duct is. Snake can then crawl through the vent, inside the building. As soon as Snake enters the building, he will receive another Codec call. "Snake, it's Otacon." "Otacon? How did you--" "Campbell told me you might need some help, and since no one knows more about inside Shadow Moses than me--" "Yeah, nice to see you. So, what do I owe this pleasure to?" "Well, I was playing this video game called Ultra Bash Sisters. It had an accurate portrayl of you, and even me inside of it!" "Us in a video game? Yeah right..." "But really! It had similar, yet far more attractive, enemies to the ones you're facing now!" "Strange...think we could be connected?" "Anything is possible, Snake" "Alright...so, am I in trouble? Those things didn't look like too much." "Those were Primids. And no, they were pretty much the foot soldiers." "I also saw some members of the Next Generation Special Forces." "What? That's impossible! You and I both know that they were moved outta there months ago!" "I know. Something isn't right...I've just got this feeling...someone's planning this." "Be careful, Snake." "Gotcha" "If you need to contact me, just call the usual way." Snake can now activate his quick taunt codec call to contact Otacon on the enemies he'll face inside Shadow Moses. Snake must progress to a large door at the end of the building he currently entered. There are a few GENOME soldiers inside. If they see Snake, they will "!" and call in for three extra GENOMES to help. However, their eyesight is fortunately pretty short, and Snake can take them out from a distance. After he reaches the end, he will reach a corridor with five infarred sensors moving up and down at different speeds. If Snake triggers a sensor, he will cause a poison gas to leak into the building, causing him to gag and lose a stock. The gas will filter out before the next stock. Snake will enter a snowfield. He has to avoid a few more Primids and GENOME soldiers before reaching the end, where he will find a truck. A small cutscene will take place where Snake enters the back of the truck, covered by his cardboard box. A guard then crawls into the back, and is about to check the contents. However, he suddenly exclaims, "Oooohhh...my stomach...not again!" and runs off. Another guard just lazily hops in the truck and drives off as the sound of toilet flushes haunts the background. Snake will then roll out of his box in another snowfield. He then walks out into a Blast Furnace. Several Fire Primids, Jyx, and other flaming enemies appear here, along with the GENOMEs. Snake can just fight his way through here. After this point, Snake will access an elevator nearby. This leads him to an ominous hallway (if he calls Otacon, he'll suggest saving the game, but Snake reminds him that Mei Ling isn't here at the moment). Snake will then enter the holding area for Metal Gear REX. Boss: Snake will suddenly hear hands clapping behind him. He'll turn behind him, before a voice tells him to "look up". Snake will then see, on the top of Metal Gear REX, his old nemesis, Revolver Ocelot. Snake quickly uses a Cypher camera to ascend to the top of the Metal Gear. Ocelot will then begin taunting Snake. However, if the player, at the start of the mission, chose "I like MGS3!", then Ocelot will appear in his younger, Major Ocelot incarnation, leading to two different dialogues. Older Ocelot: "OCELOT!" "So, Snake, you finally made it. I was getting worried that you would get here too late." "Too late for what?" "For the greatest takeover ever to grace the world." "WHAT?!" "Snake, have you ever heard of the Dark Cannon?" "And if I have?" "It's a revolutionary new weapon. It can turn any being, item, area - anything it can touch - into a statue-like form." "A petrification cannon? That's the best you can do? Playing Medusa?" "No...while in trophy form, all of the brain's natural resistance - beliefs, habits, reflexes - is taken away. With a bit of tampering, anyone can be changed into the perfect soldier in a matter of minutes." "No!" "Yes...Big Boss's dream will finally be realized. Using the nuclear bombs here combined with the Dark Cannon technology and REX's revolutionary railgun cannon, I'll be able to send the world into war. Then I'll make my own nation of perfect soldiers - of mercenaries. I'll create the perfect world for all warriors everywhere..." "There's just one major flaw to that plan of yours, Ocelot." "Oh...?" "You'll have to get through me...and you can't beat me." "Heh...I've been looking forward to this showdown..." "Let's finish this." "DRAW!" Young Ocelot: "Nice to see you, John. It's time for a little rematch." "What? Who are you?!" "C'mon...Big Boss." "I am NOT that monster!" "...no, you're not. Your stance, your gun...they're all so...pathetic!" "Listen kid, I've had enough of your attitude!" "Fine...you'll just get the honor of getting finished off by the legendary Major Ocelot." "OCELOT?!" "Ah, so you have heard of me." "How....but Ocelot is..." "A legend? Yes, I know. But just wait, there's more!" "Huh?" "I know you haven't heard of the Dark Cannon. It's a revolutionary new-age piece of technology that can turn any being, item, area - anything it can touch - into a statue-like form." "A petrification cannon? That's the best you can do? Playing Medusa?" "No..as trophies, every single person is dumbed down. At that point, they're extremely impressionable...with the right technique, anyone can be made into the next Big Boss." "No!" "Yes...I was planning on showing Big Boss my amazing project in person...but, I suppose you'll have to do. With the Dark Cannon and this massive 'Metal Gear' at our disposal, Boss and I will create an ideal world for the warrior - one of endless warfare, where we can make our own military nation and overwhelm all opponents." "Huh...for such a cocky kid, that's not a half-bad plan. There's just one major flaw." "Oh?" "I'm in your way, and you can't kill me." "Not for long...DRAW!" After either conversation, Snake and Ocelot will fight on top of Metal Gear REX. REX is about the size of Yoshi's Island. No items will fall during this battle, it's a one-on-one fight to the finish. If Young Ocelot is faught, a Young Ocelot alternate costume will be avaliable when Ocelot is unlocked. Major Ocelot is faster than Revolver, but he is less powerful. Ending Cutscene: After finishing off Ocelot, the famous marksman will laugh and comment, "You're pretty good". In anger, Snake will kick Ocelot in the face and knock him off Metal Gear REX. However, Ocelot will safely land on his flying platform. He'll then pull out a remote control that will detonate some C4 on top of the ceiling. Ocelot will fly out of the hole in the ceiling, where the Halberd can be seen flying in the sky. Snake grunts, but Campbell calls him before long, saying that "The Metal Gear Crisis has been adverted. Your new mission is to follow Ocelot and stop the new, Dark Cannon threat. Unfortunately, this goes beyond my control, so you and Dr. Emmerich will have to do things on your own now. Good luck Snake, we're counting on you." On that note, Cambell signs off. Snake then jumps off of REX and sees a garage. He then jumps into a jeep and runs away from Shadow Moses again. He's last seen taking off into the horizion, chasing the Halberd as the level ends. Unlockables: Snake joins the Adventure Mode Team. Snake is unlocked for all modes of play

Ugh...on a brighter day, I'd probably remember...but I just can't think of the blasted reference. Thank you very much, though. I was hoping that with this to start off, Mercurious can start piecing together our own, perfectly fine-tuned version of the Subspace Emissary. |
