I suppose it is just the whole different feeling of the game. Brawl lost the Smash Bros. magic x3

Okay, here we go:

...and then watch this one:

Different people, but all godly Smash pros.

Now, which one seems more interesting to watch and play? In which one do the pros seem beyond everyone else?

Why I am annoyed at Sakurai for nearly tearing down the competitive edge to Brawl, he DID make it a great party game, and it is fun, even if everyone playing is great at the game, when you do FFAs or Team matches... Melee is more for one on ones... and 2 on one team combos xDD

If I'm going to play a free-for-all, I would actually rather play Smash 64.

Brawl is like Solidus Snake: pretty cool-looking, but not nearly as good as his older brothers.

Melee was the fighter. It was a purebred fighter, meant to fight competitively with all the Nintendo spit and polish.

64 was the party. It was a disorganized slopfest, but it was THE disorganized slopfest. And it was awesome like that.

64 can be pretty competitive as well, Kamek. Although, because the competitive scene hadn't been founded at the time, it isn't big now.

Go to Zantetsu's homepage to see similar videos.

edit: oh, and the two questions at the end of the first post were meant to be answered. ;)

I honestly thought Melee was a steaming pile of ****.

Yeah, I said it.

It looked terrible, it had a boring roster and the stages were all either too huge or too... dumb. I dunno.

Sure, the gameplay was faster, but it just didn't feel like a good game. I'd much rather enjoy myself than have a better competition.

Finally, someone tells it how it is. Agreed. I have never went back to Melee since Brawl, except for a quick Adventure Mode bout or two.

Holy shit, are you guys kidding?

Everything about Melee is just more... epic. How can you not enjoy yourself? And if people didn't enjoy themselves while playing it, why the hell would they play it so much?

And what about it looked terrible? Seriously, the detail was exquisite if you look at it that way, definitely top-par for a gamecube game. And as far as it "didn't feel like a good game", I'd really like to know... cuz I've been playing Melee for years now and have never, never truly gotten bored of the game.

Unless, of course, you were beaten every time you played it ;) One of my bros is like that. He likes Brawl better cuz he has a better chance of winning. lol.

EDIT: I do, however, agree with you on the stages. Almost EVERY stage in the game was shit, and I only played on about 10% of what was there. The roster could've been a LITTLE better, but the game was already jam-packed with all the trophies, 1-player modes (events were new at this time), and good soundtracks/graphics. They also doubled the items you can have in-game. I seriously don't know how you can say Melee was bad unless you were either really bad at it or just never got to play it until after you'd gotten Brawl.
