Tech Chasing; People are too good at it!

The Eating Implement of Smash

I've been playing Melee for a long time now, still have, and of all the pro videos I've seen I've really got to say, one small factor really seems to lead to endless strategies and always has me fascinated, and sort of envious.

Tech chasing is the act of pursuing a character to stop any amount of recovery they could gain when rolling away or toward someone. I'm not as good at it as some people are, and I'm a little annoyed I never really prioritized learning this helpful technique. It not only leads to some endless grab combos, but it's just helpful... and very evil. I haven't gotten much practice in lately, due to the fact that computers are too stupid to mix up their game... plus my brothers never play me because they get frustrated of losing... :-/

So, is there anyone here that's really gotten good at it, and could give me any tips to remember? I'm sure I have the basic idea down, but any help would be... helpful ;)

I've tried to master the skill, but it never really happened. Sorry.

Ah well.

I need better opponents in Melee.

It's funny to see people just stand there waiting for them to move in some way, and as soon as they do the other person jumps on them. lol.

I'm a Marth mainer in Melee... and I DO NOT spam counter! It's a miracle to meet a Marth player like that every once in a while.

As am I, but I disagree. Any one who mains Marth and spams counter totally sucks at the game ^_^

Yeah, that they do. I see quite a few who use counter at least eight times in a row before stopping. >.>

I hate fighting Marths who spam forward B.... how do you suck that badly that you don't even know how to spam C-stick? xD

I literally had a friend that didn't even know the C-stick was smash attacks in SSBM, and when he moved on to Brawl, I turned on "shake smash" for the wii-mote/nunchuck and he insisted that it was easier to use that way.
