Standard Special Shell Shot: Coach pulls a randomly-colored shell out from behind his back. Swiftly, he tosses the shell forward. The color shells that Coach could toss would be Green, Red, or Gold. The Green and Red shells follow the same path, and have the same characteristics, as their item counterparts. However, these shells have slightly less knockback and deal about 5-8% damage. The Golden Shells, however, are very unique. When thrown, they float, not touching the ground. These Golden Shells also bounce back and forth between the sides of the screen rather than the stage, making them quite a hazard. Gold Shells move at the speed of a regular shell, and deal 10-17% damage with great knockback. Coach CAN be harmed by his own shells. Coach takes two seconds to throw each shell. Coach's Red Shells last for 5 seconds, while his Gold Shells last for 25 seconds. Green Shells are most likely to be thrown, followed by red and, finally, the very rare Gold.
Side Special Slippery Slide: Coach begins twisting his body. He continues to twist the longer the special move button is held. If the special move button is released, or if the special move button is held for 4 seconds, Coach will fall on his belly and slide forward, spinning. The speed at which Coach spins, as well as the power and knockback of the attack, are determined by how long the Special Move Button was held. At minimum power, Coach moves very slowly and actually stops spinning midway, dealing a megar 2-6% damage. However, at maximum power, Coach will spin like a drill, dealing 9-15% damage with very high knockback. Coach will stop at the end of a platform that he's spinning on, stopping his rotation immediately. However, if Coach is fully-powered, he will spin for 6 seconds, reguardless of whether he reaches the end of the platform or not. If he does reach the end, Coach will simply spin at the edge until he is finally finished.
Up Special Ray Raise: Coach calls for one of his surfing rays to help him ascend. One swiftly comes from under Coach and starts sending the large penguin up. Anyone hit by Ray will take 3-7% damage, while Coach will deal no damage and simply serves as a large obstacle. Ray moves diagonally upward, going in the direction Coach was facing when he called for his surfing buddy. There is no way to change the direction Ray surfs in. After moving about the distance between the bottom and top of Final Destination's platform, Coach will begin shaking, followed by a wipe-out on his Ray. After Coach falls off him, Ray will fall into the background and off of the stage. After falling off of Ray, Coach will fall helplessly toward the ground at twice the speed he's normally fall at. If Coach reaches a ledge while surfing on Ray, he will grab on and let Ray fall.
Down Special Filet Fling: Coach takes out a frozen fish from under his wing. After a second of winding it up, he hurls it forward, hoping to make a hit with his frozen feast. The fish moves at the speed of Link's Gale Boomerang, but without the returning effect. Anyone hit by the fish will take 3-8% damage. There is also a small chance that the fish will freeze the opponent or cause their movements to slow for a short period of time. Coach can angle the direction he wishes to throw his fish by tilting the Control Stick in said direction while he prepares to throw the fish. The fish cannot be deflected back at Coach. If an attack like Mario's Cape hits the fish, or the fish makes contact with a solid platform, the frozen fish will shatter.
Final Smash The Galaxy's Greatest Wave: Coach spreads his wings nice and wide as he activates his Final Smash. Suddenly, from out of nowhere, a HUGE stream of water appears, making random twists and turns throughout the stage, background and foreground included. Freezing time for a second, Coach gets on Ray and starts to ride the stream of water. If anyone touches the water that is on the stage, they will be instantly repeled. However, Coach will be taking to the course at an extrodinary speed on Ray. If he hits anyone, he will rip right through them as they take 30-38% damage from his ride. After seven laps, Coach will call it a day, and the water will evaporate. The layout of the water track is different for each stage, but it normally maximizes the opportunities that Coach has to hit opponents. For example, the course, though twisting and turning through the background, would get close to every platform in New Pork City. Coach is invincible while using this attack.
Brief Info Coach is a tall black penguin similar to Penguru from the Sea Slide Galaxy. He is a swim instructor from the Beach Bowl Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy, who gives advice as to the location of one of the Power Stars in that area. He can be found teaching the other penguins how to use a shell to improve their swimming. Coach is also the Ray Surfing instructor of the Loopdeloop and Loopdeswoop Galaxy.
