Zebesian Space Pirates had a track record among the various sub-races of the Space Pirates as being the most brutal. They were far more adaptable than their brothers elsewhere- The pirates could walk underwater, in lava, and acid, all without much in the way of equipment. They often had powerful blaster rifles on each arm, rifles that resembled a crab's claws somewhat, making them double as potent melee weapons. The hard exoframe lended the Zebesian pirates to a more insectoid appearence than pirates stationed elsewhere, as did their abilities to crawl along like a spider upon the surfaces of walls and other things. The Zebesian pirates in all were perhaps some of the most underarmed of all Space Pirates, but their raw combat capabilities and numbers made up for it... As did their ferocity, their power, survivablility. The Zebes pirates were stationed almost exclusively on the planet who's name they borrowed, perhaps a main factor of all their raw talent. After all, they often were charged with the defense of some of the most powerful Space Pirate leaders of all. The Pirate subspecies on Aether was decidedly more humanoid, on the other hand. They still had a slight insectoid appearence, but they moved as the humans did, and oftentimes fought like them as well. These pirates were fully equipped with armor and weaponry, constantly enhanced as research progressed. One of their mortal flaws was that no piece of these pirate's armor had yet to protect the vulurable heart, which was exposed to the open due to some flaw in that species's genetic code, although for a good reason- Those pirates had yet to find a way to cover the heart that was not detrimental to the health, and more importantly, combat prowness of the pirates. The Commando units this race employed were some of the best in their field, capable of succesfully taking on around three Galatic Federation Troopers at once in many cases, feats other pirates dared not to attempt to match. It was very rare for two subspecies of pirates to ever work together- No, the general way of things was that each took care of buisness on their assigned planets, utilized their own technologies, and stayed out of the way of others. And yet, the four pirate ATCs that slipped their way through Couruscant's defenses and into the city were carrying both Aether and Zebes pirates. There was reason- The pirates had come to make their way into a Jedi temple, by any means they could. They had recieved orders to take one of the warriors alive, and then to bring them back to a Legion planet for further analysis. None of the pirates had refused the mission, as it had been assigned to them personally and directly by the Mother Brain, who had handpicked the pirates personally for this mission. All of them felt high honor for having been chosen for the task, and all sixteen of them, scattered about the four craft, could not wait to begin. Each ATC held one Pirate Grenadier, some of the more accurate of their number. These units were to stay near the back of the squad, to lob energy grenades over to the enemy if nessacary. One Aether trooper and one Zebes trooper also resided in each craft, and in the three ATCs that formed the rear of the squadron, Jet Troopers sat ready for action, although they sat uncomfortable, as their bulky jetpacks and equipment made it difficult to fit in the ships. The lead ATC held as its fourth unit a Pirate Commando who was to lead the whole operation, who had a direct comlink to the Mother Brain. He sat quietly, and merely listened to his squadmates in his own craft chatter about everything to the joys of past meals to personal, hushed opinions of the methods of the higher-ranked pirates. He also quietly listened through his comlink the conversations of the ATC pilots- Comments about the heavy air traffic of the city, astonishment that nobody cared that four armed ships were flying so close together, about the apparent general ignorence of the Space Pirate's existence. Comments as to the excat location of their goal- <Drop altitude hear and turn starboard, right?> with a reply of <No, that'll lead us to the slums, we want the temple.>, followed by general bickering as to the excat identification of a building just passed, weather or not that was the temple, and then remarks as to the state of the craft- Slight drop in the rear, an odd twitch in the armor, alarm that a gun at one point aimed at a civilian ship. The commando was amused by this, and just sat back quietly, as he waited until they finally reached their location... [Quest-type thingymadoodle to capture a Jedi of some sort] |
