[>.> No this is not a direct copy-paste that is actually more suited for here than where it was orginally posted what makes you think that] [I guess this is a sort of quest/free RP-type thing depending, or just an epci topic. I dunnaknow. And also demonstrates how much I suck at making titles] Deep inside the planet's core, deep within the rubble of a destroyed fortress... Buried beneath the debris, the bodies, the ruined efforts of countless years of scientific research... Deep under all that, a large glass container sat, unscathed. For a long while, nothing happened, and any who would somehow manage to venture close would see that there had once been a large organic structure of some sort within the container, although with the motion it was going through, the bioform seemed dead. But, then, the fact that this container would be unharmed in the middle of all the destruction would have been noteworthy... For hours, nothing happened. And then, suddenly, the debris began to fix itself. Pieces of rubble vanished, only to appear back where they once were. Destroyed defensive weapons systems repaired damage that would have taken years to fix in a matter of seconds. Dead bodies dissappeared, and in their place the creatures that those bodies were were working buisily with various machines and devices as they had been long before. And in the container, life was stirring. The liquid inside began to bubble, and the microorginisms and other such creatures that had taken into it in the way only such primitive life could started to filter out, revealing, ever-so-slowly, the creature within. It was a large object that looked like a human brain, and from various points metal spikes emerged. In the front of the brain was a lump of flesh that resembeled a closed eye, although, surely, this could not be... Activating secondary power system A. The voice was a feminine one... For an alien species. The words were garbled and sounded nothing like words to those who did not know the language, although for those that did it was crystal-clear. Error detected in Primary Containment System "Mother Brain." Error minor. Correcting... The liquid began to filter at a faster rate, and the orange liquid now became much clearer in the frame of a few minutes, leaving all the details of the object inside clearly visable. Rerouting power to "Mother Brain" system in five... The object inside began to pulse slightly, although at such a level as to seem a trick of the eye. Four... Lights flickered, as they were unnessacary gadgets... The reactivation of the primary system was the main goal. Three... The object in the container wiggled fiercely for but a few microseconds... However, this time it was no illusion. Two... The steady pulsing became more rhytmatic, as if this was a heart steadily pumping... And, in some cases, it was. A heart for all the operations on the planet that were to come, had ever come, were coming... One. And with this, the eye opened, as the Mother Brain examined its home. At first, there were only the normal, casual checks. Everything was fine. The automatic turrents were aiming properly, they were not firing erraticlly... Which would mean at all in this setting, as no intruders were detected. Yes, everything was running smoothly on the most local level. And so, the Mother Brain was about to close the eye back, to examine matters on a larger scale of a planet, when suddenly, she jolted. She suddenly remembered something... She remembered the missles screaming towards her, she remembered activating the battleform, she remembered the Metroid latching onto her, draining her... So why was she functioning? ----- One thing that could be said about the pirates was that they mobilized very swiftly. Within a few hours, investigative parties had been sent out, and their finds were astounding- Worlds that had previously not existed did. Worlds generally lacking in technology when compared with the norm, but, regardless, new worlds nonetheless… And not simply new worlds, but whole solar systems, galaxies, universes… These things did not simply spring up in the course of a few minutes. And the cause as to why was currently the main focus of the pirate’s investigation… |

[Akabane and I would like to join, if you don't mind. He'll post after this.] Aion arrives in the Space Pirate base of Tourian on the planet of Zebes, in search of the power that had just reformed on the planet. He walks leisurely along the metal halls. Now that he is no longer immortal, he must be more careful. There must be something in these new worlds worth losing my power to find. The door behind him opens - a small search party of three Space Pirates, returning to Mother Brain, enter the room quietly. Aion turns as the pirates notice him and quickly unleash a stream of energy from their Power Beams. No longer impervious to all attacks, Aion is forced to dart to one side, and run towards the Space Pirates, shifting to his demon form and pulling out his sword from beneath his coat. Its black cloth wrapping unwinds and falls to the floor, revealing its ornate hild and ebony blade. ![]() He swings the sword down on the first pirate - and on through. He quickly recovers and moves on to the second before it can readjusts its aim. Before he could dispatch it, the third Space Pirate intervenes, slicing at Aion with its Power Scythe. Aion deflects the blow to one side, as the Pirate staggers past. The second pirate sends another barrage of energy towards Aion. Unprepared, he sticks his hand into a pocket to draw out two black cylindrical objects. Both pirates freeze in place, and the spheres of energy are suspended in mid-air. Aion glances at the horns in his hands before he places them back into his pockets. He had reclaimed them from the shrine before leaving his home world. It saves me time, if anything... With two quick strokes, both pirates are cut into pieces. Time returns to normal. Before he can continue, a Metroid materializes above him. The green leech-like parasite hurls itself rapidly towards Aion. Aion looks casually up at the Metroid before he disappears from sight. The Metroid crashes through the air where he stood a moment ago, and hits the ground hard. Before it rights itself, the room suddenly fills with a loud crash. A shockwave tears down the hallyway, through the room, and rips the Metroid in half, destroying some piping behind it. Aion sheaths the black blade that created the wave. What a dangerous place. Now where were they going? Aion reverts to his human form and continues his slow stroll towards Mother Brain's containment unit. |

[Terribly sorry for the wait, school and other stuff keeps me busy, regardless.....] Where, Aion had been just a few minutes ago, a hole in space tore open and a black-clad figure fell out. Once standing at full height, he was very slender and tall, dressed in a shirt and tie, with a long black overcoat and wide-brimmed fedora. The person touched his gloved right hand to the brim of his hat, contemplating where on earth he could possibly be. The last thing he could remember was fighting the 99 year-old witch Maria Noches at her home in Shinjuku. "Hmm, it seems Ms. Noches must have used some sort of teleportation magic in order to send me here, but where exactly IS here?" Mused the man, standing in the middle of the wrecked hallway. He looked around to find the corpse of some unknown creature corpse split in two, along with unrecognisable bits of flesh which he had guessed to be more of the same. The most intruiging thing he found though, was the direct line of destruction that lead past another halved creature and a series of broken pipes. "It must have taken quite a force to cause THAT amount of destruction, I simply MUST meet the person who did this, maybe they could tell me where I am, or even provide me with some.......entertainment." As he said this, scalpels shot out of his hands, which he held in between his fingers. He licked them with anticipation, ready to tear anything in his way to shreds. "Well, nothing to do but move forward, I'll get nothing accomplished standing here." The man walked down the hall, unable to keep himself from hurrying, as he was so excited at the posibility of being able to use his abilities. |

<Intruders detected in Tourian area. Confirmed hostile. Defensive systems online.> The words were gibberish, uncomprehensible, meaningless... To the men who walked through the heart of the Zebes base. Something about them seemed unsettling, regardless, perhaps prodding them on at a faster pace... <Activating "Rinka"-class turrent systems. Disengaging biostasis on battle-class Metroid containment units.> Several square-shaped systems embedded in the walls, floors, ceilings... They all activated at once. Each had a shallow circular depression within. None of them were aimed in any particular direction. Meanwhile, in the vauge distance, a slight hissing sound could be heard... Or maybe it was just a trick of the mind... And then things happened. The Rinka systems charged energy at various paces, and the small shapes within filled with a red light... And then the rooms were filled with red circles of energy. Each moved slowly, but steadily towards whichever intruder happened to be in its room. The rings floated through all obstructions in their paths- Walls, platforms, ceilings. They continued on towards their targets... |

Aion halts in his path, noticing the activity. Across the ceiling, four round circles of red light appear and grow in intensity. Each, in turn, detaches itself from the ceiling and floats slowly, eerily towards him, as if guided. He waits as one comes within range, and slices at one experimentally with his sword. It disappears as quickly as it came. How anticlimactic... Too easy. He deftly destroys the other three, but as he finishes off the last one, the turrets begin to charge more energy. Never mind, now it's just a bother. This time, he speeds his pace down the hallway, making sure to stay one step ahead. He enters the next room, and the Rinkas behind him vanish from sight. To his dismay, he was greeted by a room filled entirely with lava, with only platforms allowing passage through, and even more Rinka turrets. No turning back now. Now why do I have to do all my own dirty work... He laments for his deficit of followers to do his bidding as he steps on the first platform, picking off a Rinka as he moves along. Aion then hears a hissing sound, like air escaping from opening containers... Whatever is coming, I may not be able to handle both it and these pesky rings at once. He then hears another sound, this one behind him. He glances back, keeping his eye on the turrets. He hears footsteps steadily growing louder. That doesn't sound like those creatures from before. It's human. Is it also seeking what is guarded in this place? Or is it here to repel me from this place by itself...? |

The man continued to follow the path of destruction laid out before him by whatever fortunate soul had caused it. He found himself to be surrounded by several red rings. "Hmm, mere toys, nothing with life in them. Rather dissapointing really, seeing as how they can't feel fear." A smirk played across Akabane's lips as he stood there, the rings closing in on him. Just as the discs were about to close in for the kill, Akabane threw the scalpels in his hand at the four immediately in front of him. "A person might have been able to see that coming, but these machinations are useless." Akabane then sped forward out of the circle they had trapped him in, turning around to pick the rest of them off with more scalpels. "Why do I get the feeling that the person who I am following isn't the one sending these things after me? There must be a third party here, keeping watch over both of us. Well, best keep moving, I'm tired of these appetizers, I'm ready for the main course." Akabane proceeded with more haste so as to reduce his chances of encountering more pitiful drones. A short while later he came upon a room filled with lava. He spotted a man who appeared to wear white off in the distance, though it was hard to make out much with the heat-waves rising up, obstructing his views. Akabane approached the figure until he could at least make out his features, it looked as if he had almost been expecting Akabane to arrive. "Well well, you must have heard me coming, no matter." If I'm to even converse with this person, I want to at least see If he can provide me with any entertainment first. The same demonic smile returned to his face. "Let's see if you're even worth speaking to shall we? I might even get some fun out of you." New scalpels flew from Akabane's hands at blinding speed straight towards the man in the white coat. |

A tiny camera, invisable and undetected, noted the hostile reaction of the man with the tiny blades towards the one with the sword. In the heat of the moment, the soft sound of the shielding that covered the door behind faded away, as the segments of the mechanism were locked securely in place by a round structure, with several struts jutting out to further seal it tight. Far at the other end of the room, much the same was occuring, as small doors slid open on the room's floor. The small amount of acid which coated the floor still was a very miniscule amount, barely enough even to eat away through a thin piece of paper. However, as the tiny doors opened, more acid flooded in, and filled every nook and crany it could get to. By the time the flow halted, the floor was covered by the acid- Either man could have walked into it, and would have been covered from head to toe by the dangerous liquid. Orange and bubbly, as well as slightly transparent, the acid could indeed easily have been mistaken for lava, although such was a fatal error. Lava could rip through heavily armored suits in an hour or two, this acid could do the same in a matter of minutes. Neither man had the armor to survive a dip in the acid, and the only safe havens in the room were a few platforms of metal jutting out of the brine. At battle's end, it would be easy for the victor to jump across the platforms... Or so he might think, as this room was filled with the Rinka turrents, all hidden very well within the walls and ceiling, all near invisable. None were yet active, none were firing. They simply waited... And the larger walls in the room, those to the far sides. They were at such a distance impossible to reach and designed in such a way that no one could see the mechanisms on the bottom, that nobody could hear the eager shrieks from somewhere behind... [Damnit Mother Brain RPs through her enviroment, her people... The reactions to the rinkas were fine and just and stuff but I kindly request that you two stop saying "He walked into a room and he saw [blank and blank]" and so forth. Plz] |

Sword that Smites Evil

{MB, do you mind if I RP with you three here?} Although the defences were active, nothing would prepare this place for the appearence of another person. Floating in midair, about half a foot off the ground, was Pram, an Oracle that couldn't care less about what happened within 9 feet around her at the moment. "This place looks like it could use a repair job." Pram said, noticing the menchi of what looked like killed dead space pirates, and a choped clean in half Metroid, she moved past the chaos that was before her, intent on learning more information about this place, while a thin coat of ice began covering the floor. Upon reaching the door, Pram would be unable to enter from the opposite end. And upon realizing this, turned into a tiny ball of mana, and passed through the door, only to turn back to her normal form and see a few people do battle. "Looks like hell came to pay a visit." Pram said in a voice that seemed to echo throughout the entire room. |

[Thanks for that MB, and on behalf of Aion and I (we discussed this), I'd like to apologize, we understand your position and shall refrain from continuing said displeasing actions.] |
