"Very cunning, Ridley was it? What a very interesting plan, putting all of our weaknesses in a single database. Rather than making you go through the trouble of stealing the information and initiating a mutiny, why don't we simply lay our necks, in turn, on the chopping block, and give you the axe?" Octavius spoke up once more, deciding to voice his opinion on this latest subject. "Your plan assumes a level of trust that only a truly monumental simpleton would hold with anyone in this room. Let's not mince words, gentlemen. We're conquerors, killers, greedy and self-centered. We work together out of necessity, not the kindness of our hearts." His tentacles clanged against the floor as they carried him into the center of the room, that he might address all present. "If, by some unfathomable stroke of asininity, it is decided that we will store records of our vulnerabilities for others to review, then I, for one, will withdraw from this alliance without a second thought, in the interests of self-preservation, and the preservation of my goals." His point made, he returned to his previous position, out of the center of the room. "As for this 'scrimmage' I've heard talk of, I approve of a contest to determine the election of a general, or 'war master'. However, I do not believe that the outcome of the election should be determined solely by the victor, but that each battle be observed by an audience of Legionnaires, and a vote be held. There are many factors to victory, after all. Any fool could defeat a superior warrior by sheer fluke, as the universe is not ruled by skill alone. We should instead focus on how the battle is fought, not only how it is won, and judge the skill of a prospective general by the way they perform in the heat of battle." "Oh, and regardless of how this plays out, should any such contest take place, I will state now that I won't participate. I'm a man of science, not a warrior." Dr. Octavius again fell silent, his speech concluded. |

Legato remained still at his seat, resting his head in the palm of his hand due to the complete perversion of his idea into one that even he would reject. He began correcting, "I believe that what I wanted with the computer idea was not to put your weaknesses into it, but rather your strengths, accomplishments, and anything to the like. That way the computer could make a list of who's most qualified to be a spy, a general, an on field captain, a starship admiral, and any other position we may need. It could find all those with a suitable aptitude for each task, and we could then select those we want to from the lists. These files could be stored on an encrypted disk, and erased from the main computer, so that in the case of a hacking attempt, the files would be gone in the first place." Lifting his head, he continued, "Any more questions of qualms with this plan? Or will I have to carry it out on my own?" Immediately after finishing his words, his eyes widened for a brief moment, as the heads of all those who weren't looking at him turned to face him against their own will. Legato's lids gently shut, giving control back to the persons in the room, and also removing the uneasy feeling that had spread across it. He sat, waving his hand to signal for a piece of cake to be placed in front of him. |

Legato's head didn't turn to meet Jack's mask. Instead he sat facing his empty plate, his mouth giving no indication of pleasure at Jack's intrigue. Instead of regurgitating the same explanation that he had given moments ago, he simply stated, "Because... the strong need not know a mans weakness to defeat him. He only needs conceal his own." As he finished his statement, the cake he had ordered arrived in front of him. Gesturing his gratitude, he took a bite. Slowly chewing it, absorbed in the delicate mix of flavors, he ignored everyone around him. Upon finishing, he looked up, this time to face Jack. With the same lack of expression, he reiterated, "You failed to hear what I said not one minute ago. The computer will do a better job of finding those apt for roles than any amount of bickering or squabbling will do now. All the computer need know is your skills and experiences. Weaknesses are irrelevant, and as far as I care, can be told at one's own discretion. This isn't difficult, so why must you insist on complicating things." Having nothing more that he wanted to say, his face directed itself toward his dessert. He resumed eating, but faster, not taking time to enjoy each bite as he had. |

Jack could see Legato was plan something, unless he was just doing the age old make someone crazy trick Jack decided to play the game as well. Jack: "I was just asking out of curiosity, and I heard what said so, you don't need to personal... not unless their another reason, not to mention everyone seems to want to know weakness of others, but this can go on forever and ever to no end. I'll give it what I will, as would any one else know getting back to I don't know find our stagiest. I would have nominative the Brain Mistress, seeing how see a talking brain, it would be perfect, however see would rather fight for Master of War so this maybe a little tough, I could do both spy and plot, however we need a lead strangest, A Wise one if that sounds better." (Fixed thanks Saya and don't worry I been told by others as well.) |

Gnarl looks over to the two named Jack and Legato, and decided to state his opinion " if you two magpies would please shut your traps, we could proceed to more pressing business that your squabbles!" The Overlord had a slight ping of fear run down his back. to piss off allies with a single sentence, although a great ability that was often practiced by minion, was never a good idea, let alone two powerful ones. The Overlord knew that if the two insulted men turned hostile, he would have to fight them in order to protect Gnarl. however, fighting was to be reserved for later, meaning that he would have to move the attention to himself. "I believe," spoke the Overlord "that it would be a poor idea to trust one with our weaknesses. even if given to utmost security and in the most trusted hands, the information could be used against us. and, in contrast to what Legato said, i believe that the best way to see who the best for the job is not with some machine, but in a real life situation. and for the scrimmage , I was thinking more like 50 troops, but 25, i guess, would be easier to manage. In addition, in the name of fairness, no member of the Divine Legion should hold more than one kingdom, and are given full responsibility of it, as well as all that is in it. only you, Ganon, the Master of War, or the Great Strategist. will be given the ability to alter another's kingdom in any ways, shape, or form, and only in order to uphold and better the status of the legion. now that we have that out of the way, i believe we still need to figure who the Great Strategist and the Avatar to the Public should be." |

Over the entire meeting, everyone could swear they heard a soft buzzing sound off in the distance of Venom. Soon, they saw dust being kicked up in the distance, and then what looked like a small....hovercraft. Nothing like any of them had seen before... When it got closer, Bowser (and Ganondorf- remember, SSBB tourny, meaning that ganon would know Wario) could easily recognize who was the pilot of the small craft. Wario. Not in his wario-ware outfit, but in his traditional yellow and purple overalls, and his W hat. On the back of this hovercraft, a rather odd looking weapon was on it...It looked like some sort of gun, but in truth, it was much more. The hovercraft slowed to a stop, and then landed with a soft plop. Wario hopped out of the cockpit, and proceeded to enter the meeting. "Wahahahwah! You guys must be some evil alliance or something, especially with Bowser on your side." Wario stated, studying the rather large group of people with slight curiosity- more wondering what loot they were carrying than anything else... |

Jack: "Tring to make me look bad and steal my Idea eh?..." This was a joke to the Overlord, a small chukle fallowed. Jack: "If you where listioning I said everyone seems to want to know weakness, I wouldn't want anyone to contorl me agenst my will. Beside I just said let's find the Wiseone, whicth sounds better, but is the same thing as the Main stragest, and I like the Avatar of the people." Jack truned his atention to Wario. Jack: "Now who would you be, mister Yellow Cap. (Not again, Sorry. This won't be a habbit.) Edited by Vegeta, Jan 31 2008, 09:20 PM.
