Adeline Scott
Name: Adeline Margaret Scott
Age: 17
Class: Second
Hometown: London, England
Destination: All over
Appearance: Adeline is of average height, standing at about 5 feet 4 inches. She rather likes her height; she isn’t too tall or too short, although some say she is short. She has a fairly small frame, but she isn’t petite or under weight.

One of Adeline’s most favorite features is her blonde hair. It has some natural curl to it that gives Addy a great look. It goes down just past her shoulders. Her mom used to keep her hair short, but now that she is out to sea with her father, she is growing it out.

Adeline tries to keep up with the current fashions. Her fashion is limited due to money, but she still tries. Usually her style is a simple version of the most current fashions. She longs to be a part of the first class so that she can have the latest clothing.

Personality: Addy is a pretty outgoing girl. Her mother used to scold her for being too loud, but she couldn’t help it. She found it hard to speak only when being spoken to. There were too many things that Addy wanted to say for that rule to really stick. Her father is much like Addy, and when they would get going on a rant they would drive Addy’s mother crazy.

Addy’s outgoing nature makes her pretty flirtatious. She isn’t afraid to introduce herself to a handsome man. Her mother always told her to never make the first move, but how would anything ever get done that way? When Addy wants something, she goes after it. People often look down upon Addy’s forwardness, but she just can’t bring herself to care.

Addy is so outgoing now because she doesn’t want to be sad. She doesn’t want to be one that sits around and mopes. Since her mother’s death, people keep telling Addy to slow down, but what good would it do? If she slowed down at all, she might fall apart. Addy also has to stay strong for her father.

Background:
Adeline grew up in the heart of London. Her father worked on cruise liners as an engineer. She only saw him about once a month. When she did see him though, they had a blast. Her and her father were very similar and always laughed at everything. Addy’s mother was very prim and proper and constantly scolded the two for not keeping a professional face at all times. Addy had no idea how the two ever got married, but they loved each other.

Since Addy’s father was always out to sea, she had to stay with her mother. Her mother’s sister also lived with them. Most of the time they left Addy to herself, so she was always coming up with crazy schemes. Addy enjoyed the time to herself because no one ever told her what to do.

Just before Addy’s 17th birthday, her mother came down with influenza. They couldn’t afford a doctor, and her mother wasn’t strong enough to fight off the illness. She ended up passing away the day before her father came home. Even though Addy hated when her mother tried to harness her activity, she dearly loved her mother. She was absolutely heartbroken.

After the funeral, Addy’s father asked her if she wanted to come aboard with him. She immediately said yes. She had dreamed of going with her father on one of his voyages, and now she got to do it. She would even get to see America! This new opportunity helped to cover the pain of just losing her mother. She couldn’t wait to see what kind of adventures the sea held for her.
