Alright, who the hell plugged in the Overlord?

She was telling Eric to stop, maybe trying to slow him down to get a better shot, maybe actually interested in a peaceful resolution. He couldn't gamble on her intentions. He'd take the gun out of play, then deal with the talking. It would be simple. She'd probably never even fired a pistol before.

Maybe it was beginner's luck, but the shot flew straight, smashing through Eric's temple. For a few short seconds, his world was not words, but was rather a flashing of colors, sounds, and impressions. The fall seemed to take forever. He wasn't even conscious, not really, not in any normal way.

Certainly, all spark of thought had faded before his fingers went limp and the knife fell to the grass, ten seconds after Madelyn pulled the trigger.

Completely oblivious to what just occurred, Timothy Walker lay there on the ground unconscious. If he knew what had just transpired, there would no doubt be a smirk of glee on his face. Things played out wonderfully, or at least that's what he hoped was going on, out there.

Honestly, all he knew was that he was having trouble within himself figuring out who he was. Had he fully embraced the killer? Was there any shred of his old self left? Why did he keep coming back to different and sometimes conflicting scenarios for what was going on his mind?

Nothing in his head made any sense any more. Maybe it would be better to be killed while like this. Maybe that way, something might actually make sense with him for once in all his time here.

He twitched once, at the sound of the gunshot, though really it was more of a residual reflex from getting struck in the face. Still, it looked almost as if he knew what had just happened. Almost like he was aware of what was going on.

Almost.

So she did it. Ferric lay dead, by Madelyn's finger. This wasn't what she wanted, or thought it would be like. She felt, still. As if her senses were muted and heightened at the same time. Light, yet rooted to the ground.

It was time to go.

Turning around Madelyn walked away from the body, and the rest saying,

"C'mon." Hollowly, the word entered the word. The invite was only to Mikaela, and if Tim decided to take it there was a bullet for him as well. Keeping an eye on him while she walked away. The gun did have a hair trigger.

Mikaela looked from Madelyn, staring at what she'd done, to Tim, lying sprawled out on the ground to Eric, a halo of blood splattered around his head.

How had that happened? How had she let that happen?

Madelyn had just... she'd... how... had she meant to do that!?

Feverish eyes darted back and forth. She couldn't stay with a murderer, yet she did not want to be alone on this island. Tim didn't count. He was clearly off his head.

Mikaela bit her lip and all but unconsciously took a little shuffle away. One by one, their group had disintegrated. Marion had got herself killed, Jake had discarded two people he cared about with barely a backwards glance, and now Madelyn had killed someone.

Was there anybody she could trust here?

"Madelyn I... I'm sorry but I can't. I can't do that. I need..." Mikaela faltered. "I need some time to myself, at the very least. I'll..." she couldn't even bring herself to honey it, let alone line. "I might see you again. Maybe."

She turned and hurried away before Madelyn could object - with voice or bullet.

They were gone. Everyone was gone from the area. He wasn't sure when he woke up, what had happened. All he knew was that he had no reason to stay there anymore.

He had woken up to the scent of drying blood and now-decaying flesh. His head had still hurt like crazy. At the time, he hadn't thought much about possible brain damage. All he had done was assess the situation. He had determined that his weapons had been stolen, the boy with the knife had been killed, and the two girls ran like a bunch of scared children.

At least that was what he was convinced had happened. He had picked up the knife, wiped the blood off, and got moving.

It was better than not having a weapon at all.

Timothy Walker slowly made his way back to the one place he could think of to be right now. With the first person he had met in this nightmarish place.

He walked right up to the bench and plopped himself down right next to the dead girl's body. He tried not to let the stench of death overpower him.

"Sorry. I guess I'm useless after all. I'm sorry."

He sat there for a moment, looking just as dreadfully dead-like as the body next to him. He let out a sigh.

"I gotta get back my hat." He said that to no one in particular. Not to the body, not to the cameras watching him, not even to himself.

A few moments later, he got up and started his way back to the Ski Resort.
