Tales of the Backyard (Parody Movie)

Well here is a movie I made last semester with Keo, our club president and David, the one who randomly shouts out stuff during the meetings, Lolol.

*EDIT* This was shot in my backyard, and took about an hour or so to film. Just editing the film by myself took around 50 hours, leading to a case of insomnia, due to all the effects and my average speed laptop.

Feel free to leave any comments, or suggestions, etc. I'll be planning to make another video before I leave Delta after this semester, so if anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears. So yeah, Enjoy!!!

OK, where did you guys make this again? Awesome video, I must say. My favorite part may or may not have been the 300.1 damage, but I'm still debating that. The 1000000000000000000000000 damage may have won the award.

I would love to be in the next one. XD I've even got a fully functioning sword for the occasion! ... o.o

Oh yeah, forgot to mention the set. It was shot in my backyard. The movie was supposed to be more of an actually walking RPG setting, but some of my cast couldn't make the shooting date, thus all of the movie was improvisation. I had to shout out commands to people and that was that.

The one thing I found bad about our movie was that we battled too long, Lol. If we had two or more cameras having different angles, it would have made it more interesting. This was also entered in a contest, but didn't win unfortunately. T_T

But yeah just post your ideas and such and we'll come up with a new movie hopefully before I leave, Lol.

Well, I can possibly contribute a second camcorder, depending on it's availability at the time of shooting. It gets a bit of use around here, and while it may be a bit old, it could still work for a second angle...

We must discuss this more. I'll brainstorm for a while, and send ideas when I get a good number of 'em flowing o.o

Ok cool. What type of camcorder? MiniDv, DVD, or Hard drive? I'm using a digital HD 60Gb camcorder but I can only record in standard since my laptop is too slow to edit HD quality, Lol...

I'm thinking of using the school as a setting now but just need overall ideas and script.

Using the quod(sp?) after about 2:30 on Fridays would be the best time/place to film, I think. XD

I have no idea what the settings on the camcorder are, or even what type it is. All I know is that it's some kind of digital thing that we used to record my eighth grade graduation, about 6 years ago. o.o

Scripts... I can help with that. I've made a few scripts for fun before, though none as a collaboration effort (or even made public, for that matter! XD)

My computer may be able to handle HD files, one of you guys should shoot a quick clip in high def and bring it to the next meeting (or movie night XD), and we'll test it out. My computer's pretty good at handling larger, faster files. Not to mention it's HD widescreen equipped... =D

Shoot something random about... ice cream or pie or thecakeisalie or something.

I'm looking for the camcorder now, but I seem to have misplaced it somewhere... >_<
