The power had called to him, reached for him. Without his connection to wolves he would never have known this place for what it was. Never have seen the dense forested area as anything more then just forest. But the power called to him, rose up his arms and made his spine tingle. His hand reached up as if caressing an invisible barrier between him and the woods. It was their power, their home, their lupanar. He would not cross it’s threshhold unless invited. But he used it’s power, it’s call now to amplify and yet narrow his call. Rather then call all of the wolves in Paris he called to those only connected with this lupanar. With this pack. He called to them with his will and his strength. The power that had lead him here alone called to them. It was not overwhelming. It was not a call meant to FORCE them to him. Merely an invitation to PLEASE come and meet with him. An alpha wolf would be able to resist the call even if they heard it. He knew however that the weaker ones would not be able to resist it. There was nothing he could do to help that. Nova began walking the perimeter of the lupanar. Judging to see how big it was as that was usually an indicator of the size of the pack. He knew it was a large group. The power of it thrumming threw him. AS he walked his fingers seemed to trail along the invisible wall. He knew it would take some time for the wolves to gather. He had time to walk and feel there power. He just hoped the wolves here were as accomodating as those back home. They had worked together to form such a great symmetry it was one of the things Nova missed most about home. Plus his ideals and morals were not as welcome amongst the vampire community, let alone the council. He was hoping he would find some allies here. It wasn’t long before he felt someone approaching through the woods. So close, and yet singular. Perhaps he had lucked out with one of the Pack spending some time within their lupanar. Back home it was more a rarity to find the lupanar completely devoid of anyone. Perhaps the same could be said for here. It was odd however that the presence approached him from behind. From outside the lupanars power. He could only assume they were on there way here when his call defered them. He turned to see a petite blonde approaching. Edited by Nova, Dec 17 2008, 10:34 AM.

Sub Wolf / Poor Joss
|
Trim was a bitch. Having to cut into the little corners of molding to paint without getting any of the shiny paint on the walls or floor. She felt like it would be easier to paint with a q-tip then the tiny paint brush she couldn’t seem to control. A pull right at the center of her. Like someone was yanking her by a cord around her gut. The paintbrush veering off course to lay a sweeping stroke upwards over the wall. “Shit.” Joss mumbled. Tossing the paint brush onto the drop cloth she rose slightly. Stumbling towards the front door as that cord continued to tug at her navel. Others someone stronger might have been easily able to ignore the pulling, but Jocelyn was not. She didn’t understand what was going on. She looked frightful looking around the house. “Matt!” She called in a frightened squeak as her feet carried her towards the front door. Before she knew what was happening her feet were carrying her out of the front door and down the porch. She was being compelled to head towards the lupanar. Was this Jason's doing? Was Matt even home or avoiding the paint fumes and off in his prefered form of wolf. She kept glancing over her shoulder then to where she was going. Suddenly her heels dug into the ground as a man appeared in the direction she was going. No one she had met before not pack. Her head lifted nostrils flaring not even wolf. No something all together different. “No…” |

Ulfric // Emi's Beau
|
Angry...? A good start Livid...? Getting warmer Fuming...? Almost there Fucking Pissed off...? Perfect. To say the least, Jason was not a happy camper as the Blazer roared down the highway. The werewolf's foot had shoved the pedal nearly to the floor and driving at a much faster rate than the posted speed. Jason was really too pissed off to care by that point though. The buzz of power that he felt nudge at his very being only served to fuel the increasing anger. The day had started normally; like any other really. That was until he had received a call from a man who called himself Mr. Topehal. At first Jason had believed it to be some sort of joke or prank; but he discovered very quickly that it was anything but. The man on the other end of the line informed Jason that with Elle Iveriot taking office that it meant that things were going to change. That the Pack is very large and it meant special measures needed to be put in place to ensure full cooperation from the wolves. Whoever Mr. Topehal was, he understood Pack structure and had definitely done his homework on the werewolf's in Paris. He had known exactly who to contact, which meant that Jason's status as a lycanthrope was known and someone had access to his military records. "I'll be seeing my Pack soon." Had been the last thing Mr. Topehal had said before he hung up and left Jason practically speechless. What was he to do? The Pack had just been backed up into a corner with this official taking control of it. There was no telling what would happen. Tagging was most definitely on the agenda but still, Jason could not sit idly by either and just let it happen. From there, he had headed directly for Emily's once she was done with her shift at the hospital to vent his frustrations. He needed her support before he even dared to tell the rest of the Pack what had happened. Jason needed a game plan, some way of dealing with this problem and protecting as many people as he possibly could. As always, Emilia was there for him, just as he had always been for her. She offered whatever help she could, whether it be helping to hide their status or even somewhere else for members of the Pack to run to ensure they were not seen at the Lupanar. Admittedly, it stung. The idea of having to turn away from the Lupanar and the base of their strength and the essence of what they were. Of course the night dwelled on and Emi had decided to help in other ways. Mostly in the ways to relieve Jason of his growing stress and frustrations. In fact they had been in the middle of that stress relief when the Ulfric suddenly felt the pull. Instantly all of the fun and excitement had gone away, as if sucked into a black hole and once more frustration and anger reared. Only a few words were spoken to Emily before he got dressed and had made a straight beeline for the door, then his Blazer and the Lupanar. The bumps of taking the vehicle off road jarred Jason from his thoughts and going back over the series of events that led him to where he was right then. The Blazer's suspension groaned and squeaked as the wolf urged it deeper into the woods until the trees were too dense for him to continue on. From where he abandoned the 4x4 the Lupanar was just a short distance, which he barely remembered walking thanks to the red haze that rolled in his mind. Just the sensation of the vampire made his jaw tighten and he had to make a conscious effort to keep a hold on his beast that was just as livid at the intrusion. This vampire was close to the Lupanar. Too close. When Jason entered the Lupanar, he found the beginnings of the gathered. All of their eyes, many shining golden, looked to their Ulfric as soon as he stepped foot within the clearing before they silently turned toward the opposite end of the meeting ground. The dark haired man barely missed a beat before he continued his quiet and determined steps toward the vampire that he was beginning to make out on the edge of the Lukoi meeting area. A vampire that hardly looked like a vampire at all. Stopping a few feet from the vampire, Jason released the hold he had on his beast and allowed the Alpha energy he had been holding in to flow outward. It was an angry buzz, like fire ants crawling all over ones flesh and radiated heat to the point that it prickled Jason's own skin, "Jocelyn. Move away from him." His voice held a hard edge and was in a tone that merited little questioning. Oh he had seen Joss there, even if he had not actually acknowledged her. Instead his hazel eyes, which smoldered with anger, were set on the vampire and only the vampire. "I suggest you explain what it is you are doing here." It was difficult to keep the growl out of his voice or even stop his nose from wrinkling at the stench of undeath, "Quickly." |

Devon was worried, confused and angry. She didn't like being in the dark and didn't like the fact that someone other than Jason was going to be running this pack. How on earth did the man think he was going to run them? He wasn't a werewolf. She made her way to the Lupanar in her Jeep Wrangler. It was fairly close and she was almost there. Her delicate hands gripped the stering wheel firmly. She could very well disregard the call, she was after all an alpha dominant but she didn't dare think of what they would do to the lesser wolves. She cared about her pack and would be there. She didn't like to think about this, she was mostly worried about the new young woman, Jocelyn. Shaking her head to trying and not think about it she parked next to Jason's Blazer. Well at least he was already here. Stepping out her acute senses picked up the smell of death. Wrinkling her nose in repugent disgust she made her way towards them. She didn't really like vampires but she would deal with them if she had to. The small platinum blonde made her way closer and closer until she could hear Jason speaking. "Jocelyn. Move away from him." Well at least he was there. That was a good thing. Her flats made no sound as she made her way. She could feel her Ulfrics power. He was just as made as she was. Hers flared out in a wave infront of her eminating out of every crevase of her body. She didn't like the fact that some, dead thing was in their sanctuary. It defilled everything. Her blue shirt was loose around her slender body and hung to her thighs, she wore skinny jeans. Her platinum hair billowed behind her in large curls as she walked. She heard Jason speak again. Coming closer she stood next to him on his right, baring her neck and nodding in respect before she gave a heated glare to the man infront of her, if you could call him that. She could feel her beast just bellow the surface uncurling and streching its large white body inside her. She was able to keep it at bay but she let her power mingle with her Ulfric's. She didn't like this thing before her any more than he did. She didn't speak as she waited for him to answer her Ulfrics question. She wouldn't breach his command. He was in charge and he would ask the questions. She would merely stand by his side loyally. But that wouldn't stop her from staring at the man with cold lupine eyes. |

Cara’s jaw was clenched, tight. If she had been in wolf form she would have been snarling. That pull, that damned pull on her midsection. There was no way that she could ignore it; she’d tried, but it was like trying to stop a river with a twig. Cara had been hard at work tinkering with the security system for the Pack House, making up the program as she went to detect heat, movement, and any other thing she could think of, when the pull on…her essence started. The Geri had driven as far as she could to the Lupanar, which really was to the start of the woods, since her car wouldn’t make it any further. She was still in her stained work clothes; her short blonde hair mussed from hours of shoving it back from her face. Worry and anger chased each other in circles as she walked through the woods, quicker then she’d liked. Most of the worry was for Jocelyn: she knew the new wolf had been at the Pack House painting and cleaning a lot lately, and if she was there now, she would probably be the first one at the Lupanar…and the first one to meet whatever was pulling them there. Cara cursed silently, speeding up her pace. She should have fought Jason harder, should have forced him to listen to reason when it came to the submissive woman. Even with the new security in place, she wasn’t safe. She couldn’t protect herself from whatever…thing came calling in the middle of the night. Climbing over a fallen tree, the Geri stopped at the edge of the Lupanar. She could feel the wolves inside, Jason one of them, ordering whatever the thing was to tell them what he wanted. She could almost taste the death and decay that was eminating from the figure at the other end of the Lupanar. Vampire. Swallowing her fear and disgust, Cara stepped into the sacred site. Stepping up next to Jason, the Geri put a hand on his shoulder, light, letting him know she was there. She could feel the hackles on his beast, raised and snarling. Cara’s wolf prowled around restlessly as well, as the woman swept her eyes over the rest of the wolves. They were staring, eyes glinting lupine. Joss stood closest: Cara had been right, the wolf had been the first to the scene. Jaw clenching harder, the Geri leveled her gaze at the vampire. |

“It’s alright little one. I’m not here to harm anyone.” Nova tried to ensure the petite blonde as she struggled to back away from him. So close he could practically reach out and touch her now. She stood there frozen as she clearly tried to struggle with his call. “I wish I could release the call for you but I need as many of you here. Your Ulfric especially.” Nova apologized to her. It was then he felt the buzz of power and anger coming from within the lupanar. Nova turned so his back was no longer towards the lupanar. But was at a side angle with the small blonde just on his other side. Visible to the approaching group so they would understand no harm had come to her. He watched the approaching group. Golden glowing eyes seemed to dot the woods as the darkhaired man at the center took the lead. Stopped just within the limits of the lupanar Nova was pressing against the outskirts of. He turned his head briefly to look at the blonde as the Ulfric seemed to address her with a command. He could shut down the call now, with the Ulfric there and all but he needed to see the true size of the pack and he felt like they were not all here. He hoped that the feel of her Ulfric’s power would give the wolfess enough strength to move as the Ulfric wanted. Nova turned back towards the Ulfric as he demanded to know what he wanted. A reasonable request to be sure. But Nova took a moment to look at those assembled. A small smirk on his face as he noticed the Ulfric had a thing for blonde women. Or someone did between the two that flanked him and the one called Jocelyn he had called out to. Nova turned to face the Pack assembling in the lupanar. The Ulfric’s power and anger washing over him, making what little hair he had on his body, and there was was quite a bit of his body exposed with he shirt open and flapping in the wind, stand on end with the brush of power. Nova held out his arms to his side as if to show he was unarmed. He also did a full bow at the waist as he held his arms out. “Forgive me Ulfric for intruding upon your night. I’m sure you are wrought with things to do with these changing political times. But that is part of the reason I am here tonight I suppose.” Nova spoke as he bowed. Finally he stood back up to his lanky tall self, shoveing his hands into the pocket of his jeans, sending them even further down his hips then they already were, threatening to expose perhaps a little to much of the lanky male. “My name is Nova. I’m sure some of you may have heard of me already, as such you may think you know who I am and what I am doing here. And you may be partly correct in your assumptions. But I need your help and I would like to give you mine in return. I believe we can help each other to save ourselves from the persecution of those who are too afraid to learn about what they don’t understand.” Nova riddled slightly. Trying to calm the Ulfric’s anger and let him see that Nova really meant no harm. |

Sub Wolf / Poor Joss
|
Jocelyn was caught. So unnaturally close to the vampire. Memories, new and old flooded her about being too close to those she feared or could not trust. They were not good memories. She whimpered as he spoke of needing the wolves here especially her Ulfric. Her eyes went wide with fear. Not Jason No… the pack could not loose him she’d rather sacrifice herself then see Jason hurt. Jocelyn stepped closer to him giving in to the pull and no longer fighting it. If she could save Jason… It was then she felt it, the power of the pack, the wolf, her Ulfric. The angry heat ran over her body and called to her own beast. Her head went down as she took a deep breath, drawing in some resolve from Jason’s strength, the power of his wolf, the power of the pack behind him. She didn’t move closer to the vampire but when Jason emerged into her line of sight with a lot of the pack at his back, Jocelyn dropped to her knees on the ground feeling like a failure once more. At Jason’s command she leapt from the ground running to move into the power of the lupanar, she sobbed to herself as she moved to stand behind Jason and more of the Alpha’s who stood near the front. The power of Jason's beast and that of the pack itself able to pull her enough from the Vampire's call. It was Jason's strength, once again, that saved her and she had even more to make up to him. She fell back to her knees in the back of the pack trying to keep her sobbing to herself. She hated the fact that she was a weakness for the Pack. That she hadn't been able to fight the call and walk on her own. That she had needed Jason and the pack and it's power to even move on her own. It was frustrating to the human and yet somehow the wolf accepted their submissiveness. That's what the pack and the alpha's were suppose to do. Protect the weaker. Matthew had been outside of the safe house, wandering aimlessly through the woods for the last half hour. Fresh paint had one of the most deadening effects on a lycanthropes sense of smell and Matthew hadn’t liked it one bit. He still wasn’t sure about the house, but he appreciated the roof, especially on the cold nights. Despite popular belief, the Bolverk did not spend every possible moment in wolf form, and being in the safe house as a wolf all the time would be next to impossible. But even in the human aspect of himself the stench of the fresh paint was a bit overwhelming, and he had left Joss to finish up the trim while he went to catch a breath of fresh air. He felt the slight pull almost at the same time he heard the faint yell coming from the nearby safe house. He could resist the pull easy enough, though it became an annoying sensation, as if someone were constantly tugging lightly at his shirt. Quick as his human legs could take him, Matthew ran full sprint towards the safe house. Charging into the house, Matthew shouted Jocelyn’s name multiple times, though without getting any response, worry started to set in. Just where had she gone, and why did she yell for him? He paced around the living room area of the house, growing more agitated by the moment. Then like a ton of bricks smacking him upside the head, his eyes turned towards the direction of “the pull”. He knew where he had felt a pull like this before, and knew how hard it could be to resist. Kicking out of his shoes, bare feet hit the floor at a dead run in the direction he now knew Jocelyn had gone. His shirt was off next, tossed carelessly to the side. Undoing the button of his jeans, Matthew put on a quick burst of speed, leaping in mid stride. Massive paws hit the carpet of dead leaves as the Bolverk entered the forest, pants left on the outskirts of the treeline. Freedom rang as a deep bass howl pierced the night air; ’I am coming!’ Wolven form had so much more power and speed than human did, and Matthew charged headlong through the forest with little care to his surroundings. Letting the insistent pull of the vampire’s Call be his guide, the thoughts raced through his wolven mind on what the best methods were to eliminate a vampire. At the moment, rending the foul creature limb from limb seemed to top the list. Almost before he knew it, he had arrived at the Lupanar. His pace slowed then, the massive wolf barely breathing hard despite the fast paced run. Pausing for a moment, golden eyes scanning the Pack in attendance, he saw Jocelyn in the back, grateful she was apparently unharmed and safe. Then his eyes focused on the source of the call. Another deep, piercing howl split the air before Matthew started dashing across the space between him and the vampire, unaware of anything else for the moment, golden eyes narrowed at his target. |

Ulfric // Emi's Beau
|
With eyes focused solely on the vampire in front of him, Jason did not need to look around to feel the presence of others. His peripheral vision catching the blonde to his right as she came to stand beside him. Over the years in the Parisian pack he had come to know and recognize many of the members, even moreso when he had been Freki and now that he was Ulfric. He recalled her name and scent, the name Devon coming to his mind while he felt her aura begin to mingle with his own. Jason's jaw tightened a fraction at the sensation and that she was putting herself out there. The thought receeded to the background once he felt a hand on his shoulder and the scent of Cara touched his senses. The contact was reassuring, though it did little to abate his beast that metaphysically crawled and rolled over those gathered in the immediate vicinity. Patience was something that Jason was going to quickly run out of the longer he stood there and breathed in the stench of the undead creature in front of him. At the very least, Jocelyn had moved away from the vampire and had sought the safety of the Pack. There was strength in numbers and the entirety of the Pack was now at his back. “Forgive me Ulfric for intruding upon your night. I’m sure you are wrought with things to do with these changing political times. But that is part of the reason I am here tonight I suppose.” Jason's eyes were cold, narrowing when the vampire bowed before him. It was all formal BS to the wolf who wanted the creature to get straight to the point and felt the need to adjust his clothes further. Was he going to expose himself to the entire Pack? A growl threatened to rise from Jason's throat, but the urge dissipated (for the moment) when the vampire finally began to speak once more, “My name is Nova. I’m sure some of you may have heard of me already, as such you may think you know who I am and what I am doing here. And you may be partly correct in your assumptions. But I need your help and I would like to give you mine in return. I believe we can help each other to save ourselves from the persecution of those who are too afraid to learn about what they don’t understand.” Was he serious? Jason remained silent for a moment, as if to let the vampire's words sink in for both him and for the rest of the Pack. When he finally spoke, his head tilted to one side, "... 'Save Ourselves?'" Obviously the vampire was referring to the new government order, "I don't know who you are or who you may think you are, but I don't really care. We can take care of ourselves; we don't need the help of the undead." Suddenly, a howl pierced the air and caught Jason's attention enough to tear his focus from the vampire. It came from the rear of the gathered the sound of heavy paws thudding on earth signaled that whoever it originated from was was moving quickly. It did not take long for Jason to catch sight of Matthew; the Bolverk's massive form charging effortlessly toward the vampire. Instinctively, the Ulfric rounded on the large male, "MATTHEW!" Jason's voice reaching a commanding level that even he did not realize he had. The metaphysical beast lashing outward toward the Bolverk to halt his rush. Though Jason silently agreed with the sentiment of tearing this vampire to shreds, he would not let the Pack get out of hand either, "Stand down!" The words not only directed to Matthew but to all of the other wolves on edge or at the front of the gathered near Jason. If Nova would die tonight then Jason would be the one to call the Hunt. |

She felt and smelled the Geri as she made her approach to Jason. She placed a hand on his shoulder as she too stood next to him. Devon had relaxed more when Jocelyn had come to stand behind them. At least now the girl wasn't in the way. She could feel the tension in the air. Every wolf there wanted a piece of the vampire before them. Which she had to admit didn't look like many of the vamps she had seen. They all had this air about them that said they thought themselves better and, well, none looked like him either. She began to get a bit impaitent wondering what this was about and why this thing dared venture into their lupanar. She waited for what seemed like hours. She listened as the vampire finally spoke and crossed her arms over her chest. They were lukoi, they didn't need the help of anyone or anything, much less the undead. She couldn't believe the man would attempt to even ask. He'd be shot down in seconds. She breathed a sigh of relief when Jason rounded him and shouted. The tone he took was more commanding than she had ever heard. At least that would keep the bolverk from doing something stupid. Her Ulfric spoke. A smile played on her lips as he spoke. She knew that that would be his stance on this 'proposition'. She was enjoying the moment, at least until Matthew came careaning in, howl piercing the night air. The smile feel from her face as she saw him run full speed towards the vampire. It was everything she could do not to throw herself at the bolverk to keep him from running at the vampire. She breathed a sigh of relief as Jason rounded him. His tone was more commanding than she had ever heard. She felt his metaphysical beast as it reached out to hault the bolverk from doing something stupid. He spoke again telling him and the others to stand down. She new that it was directed to all of them. Granted she wanted to tear the vampire limb from limb but it would be upon Jason's word that she would do it. She would stand where she stood until he made the call. |

As the vampire spoke, Cara felt the hackles on her wolf rising more and more. A low, whining growl started deep in her throat, her chin lowering as her eyes glinted more and more lupine. Soft black down started darkening her skin as the anger of the pack and the aura of the other wolf (Her mind distantly recalled the other blonde as Devon) pushing against her. Her jaw clenched again, trenbling with the trial of controlling her anger and her beast. They could protect themselves. Cara would rather die then let any of the pack fall under the "protection" of the abomination standing before them. Only the fact that her Ulfric had not called a Hunt was keeping her from shifting fully and ripping the undead to shreds. Her head turned a little, the sound of running paws reaching her heightened senses. A newer, but still recognizable scent reached her nostrils. Matthew, the newly appointed Bolverk of the pack. She watched as the grey and white wolf bounded into the clearing, arrowing straight the vampire. Part of her wished she could shift and follow the Bolverk, help him in tearing the vampire apart for daring intrude and insinuate that Jason and the rest could not protect themselves, but the backlash from Jason's command reached her, pulling her to her senses. A whine of contrition pulled itself from her throat, the darkened tone receding from her skin. She felt the beast inside of her cower in submission, ears flattening against its skull as it bowed to the command of the Ulfric. Cara's eyes closed, and, when they opened, they had returned to her normal shade of blue. She was in charge of her beast. For now. |

Nova sighed as the Ulfric seemed to immediatly dismiss him and his offer of mutual help. Perhaps it was not only the humans who were so skewed in their views of all Vampires. He could understand the sin of Pride. The ulfric perhaps not wanting to seem weak amongst his pack. But Nova had hoped the Ulfric would see in broader pictures then that. Nova turned his gaze to look out amongst the Pack assembled. He could feel the rising anger in them all. As their Ulfric's anger and pride grew it seemed to spread out amongst the pack. "It is a foolish man who turns down the offer of help in troubling times." Nova seemed to quote from somewhere. He was about to go on in how he could help the pack. Help those who needed to hide themselves as human because of jobs or family but before he could get another word out a peircing howl made it's way between them. Nova's green eyes narrowed as the sound of a Wolf approaching quickly reached his ears as well. Then he saw him. A large wolf, larger then any he had ever seen before came rushing from the back of the pack. All the others seemed to notice him as well, some of them, one of the blonde's seemed to be giving in to the beastly power that was rolling through them all. Nova stood his ground as the hulking beast made his way. He had offered no provocation besides his call, which he abruptly cut off at that point. His hands pulled from his pockets, held at his side ready. He stood still as the Ulfric turned and called down to the hulking beast approaching. Nova waited, poised ready to block or flee out of the way if the Ulfric could not control this beast. "This is what happens when someone comes to you to offer help? I hate to think what will happen when they send their government drone. How many of your pack will be put down for being unruly." He turned towards the blonde that had been at the ulfric's side who'd had to fight her shift. "Even your little display might be seen as a threat to those who do not understand you. They might sentence you to die because of that alone." Nova tried to reason with them. "I am not the enemy here!" Nova cried his frustration reaching it's high point. |

She knew it was Matt at the first howl. SHe also knew instinctivly somehow that the call might be meant for her. A warning or announcement that he was coming. Had she still been on the otherside of the wall of Alpha's, near the vampire, that howl would have done much to calm her. Matt had such a calming affect on her sometimes. As it was now, knowing his temper, and his position he would come running in here in his wolf form. He might do something rash. She had to stop him. She saw him coming through the lupanar. She wiped at her cheeks quickly, trying to remove the trace of tears that stained her cheeks. Somehow thinking they might set him off. He seemed to slow as he neared. And that gave her a bit of relief. She sighed, giving him a nod as he looked at her. Relief was fleeting though, as once he had seen her his gaze turned to the vampire and suddenly he was bolting off yet again. "No." Joss squeaked. Suddenly jumping to her feet as Matt pushed past her and tried to break through the line of wolves to get at the Vamp. No one seemed to have any inclination to stop him until he got nearer. Jason's call was backed up by the metaphysical feeling of his wolf. He may have been directing it to Matt but even Joss felt the power of his wolf pushing them all back. JOss fell back to her knees as the power hit her. She hadn't even paid any further attention to the vampire or anything he said. Not when her pack was struggling. She crawled on her knees towards where Matt was, hoping her scent, her physical closeness would help to calm him, as his did for her. She moved to touch him. Her hand sliding into fur gripping some of it to pull herself up to her feet. Maybe even to hold him back some. She moved to stand at his side. Wrapping her arm across the back of his neck, leaning into the large wolf's side he was taller then her even in this form and she easily buried her head in against his neck. "I'm ok... everyone's ok." She seemed to whisper to the wolf. |

”MATTHEW!” The sudden commanding voice of the Ulfric shouting at him to stop brought the Bolverk up short, skidding to a halt semi behind, semi beside the Ulfric. He would not disobey the Ulfric, regardless of what command he issued. It was his job to do as he was ordered, and Matthew would never fail to follow an order, even if it was one he particularly didn’t agree with, such as this. He had instantly assumed a slightly less dominant position when the Ulfric’s metaphysical powers hit him following the command. His attention was diverted from the vampire for a moment, scenting Jocelyn moments before her arms were around his neck. His hackles were still raised, though her words that everyone was okay calmed him from the slowly building fury. His golden eyes went from the vampire, to the group consisting of the Ulfric, Geri, and another woman he didn’t quite know yet, though he recognized the scent; and finally to the rest of the pack. Nodding his head slightly, Matthew nudged Joss lightly in acknowledgment. He wasn’t sure what the entire situation was, but Joss was safe now. He could afford to wait now, bide his time and see what was going to happen. |

Ulfric // Emi's Beau

Jason watched as the massive wolf that was the Bolverk put on the brakes, the amount of momentum in his charge causing him to skid for a moment before he finally came to a stop. Every muscle in Jason's body was tensed, bunched tightly as he sought to calm his own nerves and the adrenaline that had suddenly filled his body at the realization of what the Bolverk had been about to do. It seemed the command was needed though, as he noticed the beginnings of black fur that had started to sprout from Cara. The golden eyes of many of the wolves gathered also confirming how on edge every was. Jason's own hazel eyes now had a thin ring of gold running around the outer edge as he turned back to face Nova, "It is a foolish man who baits angry wolves in their den and expects them to listen." He had heard what the vampire had to say before Matthew had come charging in; the remark directed at Jason was almost enough to let the Bolverk continue. Regardless the vampire had been temporarily spared and was allowed to continue speaking, practically going into a tirade. The mention of the 'government drone' narrowed Jason's eyes. No one else in the Pack was aware of the government official that had been assigned to take charge of the werewolves. Topehal had only been in contact with Jason and it would be up him to break the news to the rest of the Pack. However, now was not one of those times. "I am not the enemy here!" "Maybe. Maybe not. But you're pretty fucking close at this point." Jason inclined his head a fraction, looking at the vampire's forehead rather than his eyes, "We all know what the new president has said she will do and the possibility of what she may do. But who are you to think you can stop them? Perhaps you should worry about your kind first and stay out of the affairs of others. I know it's a stretch for vampires." There was some venom to his words, but Jason had not been impressed and especially not with the majority of the Pack being pulled here against their will by this Nova creature. Only so many in the Pack could resist the call while the majority were weak to it. As far as Jason was concerned, it made the vampire no different from the government that would attempt to control them. |

Cara closed her eyes again as Nova’s anger was aroused, adding to the anger of the pack that was pressing down on her. The woman was overworked, stressed, and tired. She’d already worked two straight days, and had little more then four hours of sleep that week alone. Her eyes snapped open as the vampire started yelling, her eyes meeting his as he singled her out. “I don’t need you pointing that out to me.” She snarled, nostrils flaring as her eyes flashed golden again. Glancing over at Jason, the wolf’s eyes narrowed as Nova mentioned a “government drone”. What was he talking about? Surely if Jason knew something about government interference he would have told them already. At least, he would have told her already. She hoped. Sometimes Jason had that idiotic notion of being the "Lone Wolf", taking on all the responsibilities and stresses of the Pack instead of talking it out with his Geri. Well, not that he was obligated to. Sometimes Cara forgot that the Pack was not a board-run operation, rather more like a monarchy. Cara's concentration was broken as the vampire yelled. Her eyes flashed as the declared himself not the enemy, mouth open to respond to that when Jason did for her. Almost guiltily, the Geri closed her mouth, head turning towards Jason as he told the vampire to fuck off. In nicer words, of couse, then Cara herself had been about to use. |

Nova help up his hands in surrender. "Perhaps not the best method of introductions but you are not exactly in the phonebook." Nova commented. Trying to play to the Ulfric's obvious rage as he soothed his Pack. Especially the overly large beast. The tiny blonde, Jocelyn, clinging to him seemed an odd pairing. The obvious submissive trying to soothe the hulking beast. A small smile pulled at Nova's lips. Perhaps not so odd at all. He restrained himself from humming a few lines from beauty and the beast as he turned his full attention back to the Ulfric and his seething anger. He sighed as another of the blondes spoke up, not appreciating his pointing out what her little display might cost her in the future. "But I did need to lil sister. For if we could come to a mutual agreement I would be able to help with that." Nova spoke to her before turning back to the Ulfric as he went on about how he should worry about his own kind and not them. "I am worried about us all Ulfric. But I cannot force my help upon you. Nor will I demand it of you. Though I could." Nova said reminding him what his call could turn into. Not as a threat, just a reminder that he wasn't doing it, perhaps the Ulfric could appreciate that. "I have removed the call. But my offer will remain out there. If every any of you need something that I can offer I would do my best to help. The government will be trying to set up officials for each unhuman grouping. I share this news with you as a heads up only. Doubt it or believe it. If you change your mind when it happens... well it may be to late then. But if I CAN help I will." Nova stepped backwards. Hands going into the back pocket of his jeans. He pulled out a card. He tossed it towards the pack. "Call me..." With that Nova turned his back at the pack. Trusting the Ulfric to not let any of them attack him, he slowly made his way away from the lupanar. *Well that got me nothing* Nova chastised himself |

Sub Wolf / Poor Joss
|
Joss could feel the tension in Matt with her arms around him. She kept her face buried against the ruff of fur at his neck. Finding comfort there, as well as trying to soothe him. It wouldn't do any good to jump into this situation fully cocked. Of course she was always the first to back down from a fight. Unless there was a direct threat to those she cared about. She nodded against Matt's neck as he nudged her. She wasn't about to let go though. She needed him to hold onto. Still shaking from the pull of the call. Even as she felt the need to go near the Vampire recede, she didn't trust herself to let go and test it. She barely heard Jason's beratement of the Vampire. To focused on herself and Matt. She trusted her Ulfric to take care of the situation. She trusted in her pack. The vampire was an idiot to put the call out to all of them. As a group they were many, and many held power of their own. If he had been malicious perhaps he would have just made the call to the weaker ones like her. Maybe he hadn't meant harm. But that was moot now. She could hear him talking but it was just like buzzing in her ears. She didn't hear anymore fighting, or any fighting breaking out. She turned her head just enough to peak out. Seeing the Vampire walking away. She relaxed even further against Matt's beastial form. Leaning into his side. |

He did take extreme comfort in Jocelyn being there, despite at the same time not wanting her to be there. She was in danger here, next to him. Not because of him, but because of where he was, right up front next to where the action would take place if anything happened. He didn’t want her in jeopardy should anything happen, but he was still human enough to selfishly enjoy her presence there in spite of his knowledge she wasn’t entirely safe. A low growl rumbled the big wolf’s chest as the leech mentioned something about government officials messing with the non-human groups. The Holocaust was the first thing the more feral wolf thought about, and his growl deepened into something much darker and more menacing, though it wasn’t directed at the vampire, just a voice of his opinion on the government. He knew something vaguely about the new woman president, but nothing specific. Human politics didn’t hold much interest to Matthew; Pack politics were deeply ingrained, and made more sense to the lycanthrope that was more wolf than man at times. Slowly, as he noticed the vampire turning and moving away, the big wolf sat back on his haunches. Big golden eyes looked towards the Ulfric, his head tilted questioningly to one side. What did the leech mean exactly about a government official? Is everything not as alright as it seems? Matthew couldn’t voice the questions, but he hoped the Ulfric would understand the inquisitive look. He could still feel Joss pressed up against him, and the Bolverk pressed back up against her to let her know everything was alright and he was still there. |

There was a reason why Jason was not listed in the phonebook, but he opted to hold the comment and allow the vampire to continue to say his peace. The answer to whatever Nova offered had already been determined, but he would at least allow the undead creature to have it's say. The snarled out words from Cara would ignored, no admonishment given to the Geri since Nova had addressed her. She had the right to defend herself after all. "I am worried about us all Ulfric. But I cannot force my help upon you. Nor will I demand it of you. Though I could." Jason's eyes darkened at what could be taken as a threat. The possible hold that the vampire could use on them to force them to come to him or bend to whatever he desired. It made his teeth clench just to consider, though the look in his eyes should have served as enough of his own warning to the vampire. At least for now the call was removed, though Jason could not guarantee he would be so accepting the next time Nova chose to use it. The mention of government officials once more served to pull more worry from the Ulfric (who was essentially no longer such). It only served to remind him the burden ahead and the news that he would need to deliver to the rest of the Pack. But for now it seemed that Nova was taking his leave, not before stating he would help if at all possible and tossing the card at Jason's feet. He barely batted an eye at the card while he watched the vampire's back move off away from the Lupanar. A small relief. "Cara." Jason did not look to her, his eyes not parting from the exit Nova was taking, "Would you gather the Pack at the safe house for me please? I will be along shortly." The man would stand where he was and wait until all of the wolves had departed for the safe house before Jason would finally bend down to take the card and tuck it into his pocket. From there he would meet awaiting wolves. |
