“Oh really? Queen of the cougars; it would seem you have done very well for yourself Emilia, I have to say I’m rather impressed.” He smiled, in part because she had done so much, and it was also perhaps just a touch of brotherly pride. Having thought for most of his life that he was an only child, the days and nights he had wished he had a sibling suddenly coming true, Aidan felt he could get used to this idea rather quickly. “I can’t even boast I’m part of someone’s Pard.” His smile turned into a grin. He moved around too much to be part of any Pard he came across. He nodded as she explained that Nina was quite the go-getter too it seemed. Already ahead of her peers, he could well believe the daughter would follow in the mother’s footsteps. “I can’t wait to meet her. I just hope she likes me. And then I hope she likes the gift I got her, hope it isn’t too childish for her.” Aidan’s thoughts went to the nearly two foot stuffed bunny he had purchased for this occasion with a small grin before he followed her into the lift. Aidan laughed a little then, shaking his head back and forth for a few moments. “You’re going to think he’s some heartless bastard after I tell you this, but I can assure you that he isn’t. Most of the time at least. The military seems to make people that way after enough time though. He’s hard sometimes, but there are also times you can get along with the man just fine.” Leaning back against the lift’s wall, Aidan turned his attention to Emily. “I was cleaning out the attic looking for something; I can’t even remember what it was now. But the letter was in one of the boxes I was digging through. Being the inquisitive type, I looked at it, did some research, confronted him, and here we are.” |

REINHA :: Queen of Thugs
|
The completely unabashed pride shown by Aidan at the knowledge of his sister’s rank among those of her kind almost brought a blush to her cheeks. It wasn’t really that much of an accomplishment, at least she didn’t really think so. It was more of a case of simply declaring herself in charge of the other cougars around since someone had to keep an eye on them. Though, she wasn’t always the best influence on them she did the job and definitely went out of her way to look after her motley little group. Her eyebrows rose at the mention that he wasn’t a part of a Pard. It made sense, she supposed if he moved around... but it if he was planning on staying in Paris a while... “Well I can get you in touch with the Nimir-Raj if you are staying around for a while. It would be best if you let him know you’re here – what with all the political drama going on.” Considering the state of affairs in the country at the moment, it wasn’t going to be long before things got worse – and Emi was positive that they would definitely get worse. The blonde grinned lightly at the topic of her daughter, that part of her life was definitely something she considered an achievement, “Nina has very excellent perception, and excellent judge of character. If you pass the Nina test, then you are pretty much ‘in’. But I’m sure she will love the gift.” Emi couldn’t help but pick up on the passing thought, and simply smiled. Emilia’s eyebrows rose slightly while she leaned against the wall of the elevator as Aidan explained their father. She didn’t want to think he was a heartless prick, but it was difficult considering he hadn’t even wanted to help his own daughters. Her features became expressionless as it was explained and she simply nodded, “I see. So it was just dumb luck really.” She chuckled softly, shaking her head before the lift stopped and the doors opened. “Oh well, things happen when they are supposed to I have heard.” With a small smile she led the way into the hallway toward her office, her ears picking up the end of the conversation in there, a little relieved at the declaration of it having been a misunderstanding. “Oui, it was simply a difference in views between two people that got out of hand...” Emi smiled at the two people waiting in her office as she entered, though it became a little sheepish as she glanced at Jason, knowing he probably wasn’t happy about the involuntary nap she’d given him. Taking a breath she glanced between them and Aidan and decided it’d be best to clear the air now, “Aidan... this is Jason Young, my best friend and Ulfric of the local Pack, and Fay Josslyn, also a dear friend and a Guarda of the Stalk.” Emi gestured to the two who’d been waiting as she introduced them, before then gesturing toward the leopard who’d accompanied her, “Mes chéris, I would like you both to meet Aidan Fanel... my long lost half-brother as it appears.” |

Ulfric // Emi's Beau
|
“I could go and see what is going on if you want.” Jason realized that perhaps he was being a bit too obvious with his looks to the door and he wondered if maybe he was being a bit too overprotective. Then again, recalling the events that had led up to him being shirtless in Emily's office with a PPIT detective and stalk member while Emi was off with some strange leopard who had attacked him... yeah, he was not being overprotective. "... Five more minutes..." At the same time he needed to trust that Emilia could handle herself and that everything was under control. Given Jason's nature, as well as that of his beast, it was hard not to act or get involved. That was why he decided to give the blonde five more minutes before he would start hunting the hospital for her himself. As Jason moved to sit back down on the couch to wait out those excrutiatingly long minutes, he found that he did not need to wait long as Emi's voice piped up. No sooner had he sat down was he standing back up again. Just as he was about to walk forward toward her, the wolf stopped short at the presence of the leopard. Instantly the hackles of his beast were set on end and Jason tensed while introductions were given. “Mes chéris, I would like you both to meet Aidan Fanel... my long lost half-brother as it appears.” A look of shock washed over Jason's face while he stared at the man, "Half-brother?" The werewolf mentally went over what he knew of Emi's past and there was no mention of any brother... though he supposed that explained the long lost part. Was that why she had drawn the man's blood? To say the least, Jason was not sure what to say. |

Fay was, just perhaps, poking her nose in where it was not needed in offering to go and look for Emilia herself, well, it was not needed in the sense that whatever was going on was between them, perhaps. However, her offer had come partially from her professional involvement in this matter as well as her own concerns for her friend and leader. She nodded as he said five more minutes, if Emilia weren’t up by then, then Fay herself was likely to wonder if there had been a disruption that had not carried to her ears and no one had thought to tell her. Fay had sat back down in her chair, refraining from tapping her foot as she waited for Emilia to make an appearance. Her patience was not sorely tested as she heard two pairs of footsteps approaching the door as Fay herself had barely had a moment to sit down. She stood as the door opened, her own beast tensed just a little, not least because the hackles of an Ulfric were well and truly raised. She was less shocked at the introduction, having done some educated guesswork and other than a raised eyebrow as her guess was confirmed, did not seek to put on shock for Jason’s benefit, “Good afternoon.” Her favoured greeting was Merry Meet, but then that was reserved for people who hadn’t brought her to where she was as part of a potential crime scene. |

“I couldn’t agree more. I like to believe in fate, and we’re all just twisted little threads dancing to her tune as she weaves us to her whims.” Aidan chuckled as they approached her office, partly amused by their conversation, partly amused by the two within the office’s conversation as he heard it. So the big bad wolf was worried about Emily, was he? As if he really had anything to worry about…from her at least. He listened as his sister explained who the other two people were, though only mildly surprised to find out that the mutt was the Ulfric of the local werewolf pack. Leaders tended to stick together or tear each other apart. Human nature interfering with the beasts. “Yeah, half-brother. As in one of our parents are the same.” He was still a bit stand-offish with the wolf, with the whole prepared to fight to the death thing going on earlier. It didn’t matter than he and Emily were close. The other member of Emily’s Stalk however, received a brief smile, and an inclination of his head. “Good afternoon,” was Aidan’s return greeting to the woman, “I hope my intrusion hasn’t caused too much of a hassle. I will pay for any damages caused.” His smile faded though as he turned from the woman to the man. “And I suppose I owe you an apology for jumping the gun earlier.” |

REINHA :: Queen of Thugs
|
Whether Aidan’s discovery of Emi was fate or purely just dumb luck, there was definitely one thing that was made clear as soon as they entered her office, and that was the fact that the two alpha males were not impressed with one another in the slightest. It made Emi want to sigh a little – if not for the fact that she could be just as territorial herself on occasion. Of course, it wasn’t going to make things easier but all she could do was stand in between them and try to keep topics pleasant. She didn’t particularly want anything else in her office to be messed up or broken. Already she could see a few repairs that would require attention. With Jason’s question of the snow leopard being her half-brother, Emi nodded before Aidan answered and she silently hoped Jason wasn’t going to get his back up about him pointing out the obvious. The men weren’t going to be staying here for long if they decided to get into each other again, and Emi was still carrying the tranquilizer gun. “Oui, it seems Aidan and I share the same father,” The blonde shrugged with a half smile but slight uncertainty in her eyes at the new discovery as she glanced at the wolf, “It was quite a shock, but I had to be positive about it before doing anything else, so I checked out blood results for any DNA matches – and it appears we are legitimately related.” The cougar cast a small glance back at the leopard with another shrug, “I had to be certain – as you should understand all too well, it is not exactly something easily accepted.” Glancing around the office again as she stepped further inside, Emi released a small sigh, “There is not too much damage done, it will be easy to have the place looking good as new again.” Though with Aidan’s not-quite apology to Jason (more like an assumption that he owed him one, without actually doing it), Emi cleared her throat and spun around to face the other three people with a bright smile, “Well, perhaps we should all sit and relax a little; I have some people coming up with some food. I am sure you boys could use some.” She grinned at Fay for a moment, “There is also someone fetching hot drinks from the cafe on the corner if you need to finish any paperwork before returning to Central... not the cafeteria junk.” While the food served downstairs was rather nice, they still didn’t make a habit of serving the best coffee, tea or cocoa. |

Ulfric // Emi's Beau

“Yeah, half-brother. As in one of our parents are the same.” Jason's eyes narrowed at the remark from the wereleopard. As if he was some idiot who needed to be informed of what half-brother meant. For a moment he considered taking back what he said about not pressing charges. Petty perhaps, but it would have been satisfying to both the man and the wolf within. If anything it would earn the man a night's stay behind bars. Thankfully Emi spoke up before the werewolf decided to 'politely' inform Aidan that he was not a moron. Though given the tone in the room it probably would have only ended in a heated argument that would have turned physical once more. Not that Jason cared all that much right then, “Oui, it seems Aidan and I share the same father,” Jason tore his gaze away to look at Emi, for a moment wondering if he saw the uncertain look that he thought was there. Was she not sure? “It was quite a shock, but I had to be positive about it before doing anything else, so I checked out blood results for any DNA matches – and it appears we are legitimately related. “I had to be certain – as you should understand all too well, it is not exactly something easily accepted.” Jason reigned in the urge to further question whether or not the tests were correct. It would have been an insult to Emi to do so, after all she was the doctor. Instead he remained silent while Emi moved inside and Aidan mentioned apologizing for the damages and even going so far as to offer to pay for anything. What? Was he loaded or something? Jason's gaze remained darkened, especially at the suggestion that Aidan gave that he should apologize. Yet obviously it never came. The only reaction the leopard earned from the wolf was a grunt. “Well, perhaps we should all sit and relax a little; I have some people coming up with some food. I am sure you boys could use some.” "I'll stand thanks." Jason's gaze remained set on the leopard while folding his arms over his chest, "So, Aidan, why don't you tell us a bit about yourself?" |

Fay sat down as the introductions were made, straightening the papers that she had brought with her and slipping them into a folder to place into her bag. She and Aidan would have to have words at some point, the whole paper trail thing, but if there was no threat, then she did not need to be tensed, and it was perhaps wise to allow those who needed to to talk first given that they were already slightly out of procedure anyway. It was quite possibly lucky that her boss was not a shifter who would be able to scent a lie if it came to it. She frowned at the way that he explained half-brother to Jason, she could see quite easily how that was likely to raise someone's hackles. A slight growl that came purely from her beast passed her lips, whatever else she was, Guarda, PPIT Lieutenant, she was Emilia's friend and she was not going to have her watch her half brother and one of her closer friends tear strips from each other if she could help it, she was unapologetic over the tone of that growl and any message that might be inferred from it. She nodded, though, and gave a brief smile as Aidan said that he would pay for any damages, “That would certainly help, in terms of anyone with questions about the whole incident seeing that it closed pretty neatly.” She smiled and nodded as Emilia suggested staying for coffee and food before heading back to base, pulling a face over the thought of the hospital food, “They say it's not killed anyone...yet. I think that last word is the key one. But sure, I think I was due a break some time ago.” She shrugged as if to say but y'know...I didn't take it, or at least Emilia would take it as that, being as she rarely did. She was as interested as Jason in hearing a little about Aidan, she still hadn't quite made her mind up about him at the moment, her dual relationship with Emilia being what it was, she was always wary about anyone who just suddenly popped up into her life. |
