It had been nearly a month at the least since Aidan had found the note his father had hidden in an old scrap book. Perhaps hidden wasn’t the word for it, but it had felt that way to Aidan when he found it. It had been a note from a woman his father had been with after Aidan’s own mother passed. That in itself had felt like a betrayal to the teenaged Aidan, though as the years passed, he understood his father’s loneliness and had reconciled with the old man long ago. The note had changed things considerably however. His father was not just the father of a son, but also twin daughters. It had been a changing experience for the once only child. His father had, of course, spilled the beans on everything that had happened, and though regretful for leaving the woman, he never the less had always remained committed to his decisions. He did however provide a starting place for Aidan to look. It was still amazing how much you could really find on someone with just enough patience and a good search engine. Granted, having the cash to throw at people for classified records did have its advantages. He had spent a solid month doing his research on his sisters, and the results were both gratifying and a little saddening. A death certificate was found for one of his sisters, and Aidan had spent awhile mourning in his own way the lost chance of getting to know one of his sisters. There was good news, arising from the ashes of the bad however. It appeared that Emily, the surviving sister, was extremely intelligent, a doctor no less. And to heighten the news, it appeared she also had a daughter, which Aidan hoped had helped ease his sister’s loss of essentially her other half. Aidan didn’t have personal experience with being a twin, but he had met a few who had lost their sibling, both before and after the loss, and they never really seemed the same. An address stating Emily’s place of business, oddly no home address could be found, though Aidan didn’t really think it that strange, as he himself could not be found with a place of residence either. But with address in hand, and once the decision was firmly decided, Aidan had little trouble following through on the decision to visit and finally meet the sister he had never known he had. Luck would just have it that he had already been in Paris at the time, and she was only a little ways away. Aidan’s head lifted from the scrap of paper he had written the hospital address on when it came into view. Easing into the parking lot, the growl of the Mustang’s engine echoed off of the hospital’s outer wall. Sliding the black beast of a car into an available parking spot, Aidan stepped out of the dimmed interior and out into the bright light of daytime Paris. Shutting the car door, the alarm sounding a moment later as Aidan locked the door. Then with dedicated swiftness, the wereleopard was moving towards the entrance to the hospital. |

REINHA :: Queen of Thugs
|
Emilia generally usually tried to keep things professional when she was at work. She took her job seriously and was one of the best on staff. Which was probably why she got away with a lot of the things she did when she wasn’t actually working. Like potentially turning her office into a disaster zone when she was in a ‘private meeting’ with someone. Technically, it was her lunch break, but at least by saying she was in a meeting it meant she wasn’t going to be interrupted – unless it was an emergency maybe. But other doctors could be contacted before she was necessarily required anywhere, and it was more likely she’d get a phone call than be walked in on. Not that there’d been anything really ‘bad’ as such going on during her break for anyone to walk in on; not in the beginning at least. Her visitor had called ahead to say he’d be dropping in to repay the gesture of having provided a lunch for him the day before by bringing some to her at work. Certainly not something the cougar was going to complain about since generally the cafeteria was rather ordinary some days. Besides, she’d know it would be Indian – anyone who knew the woman knew where her heart laid when it came to food. Even if the smell of it reminded her of another time no one would know about. Being in the company of her best friend who she enjoyed teasing anytime, combined with the boredom from a very quiet day of rounds then paperwork, somewhere along the way a meeting had turned into a wrestling match when she stole his keys and stuffed them in her bra. It was a match that she thought she might gain the upper hand on by using her feminine wiles to weaken the male’s defences, though it may have backfired considering she’d so far lost her lab coat, her button blouse was wide open, and her knee-length skirt was hiked up to her hips. Emi’s opponent wasn’t faring much better though with his jacket, as well as the holster she’d managed to get off him early on, tossed across the office and an accidental (totally accidental) rip in his shirt. If anyone stopped by her office door they’d have probably picked up the sounds of the odd thump and short squeal or yell, and occasional laughter. Despite being a grown adult, Emi really could be worse than a child; she couldn’t help that she was just naturally immature sometimes. It had been going on for a short while, but Emilia suddenly squealed lightly as she bumped into the corner of her desk, “Ow!” She had to try not to laugh before hooking a leg around the tall male’s and pushing back hard in an attempt to trip him, "Push off!" She didn’t particularly care enough about being quiet – her office was situated in an area few frequented, and she wasn’t expecting any other visitors that day. |

Well this was the last time Jason was going to bring lunch to work for Emily. ... Not really. Of course the werewolf had not expected the visit to turn into the wrestling match that it had; especially since it was at the woman's work and inside of her office. Really, he should have known better (not that he minded that much). It had been Jason's idea to repay Emily for the previous day when she had sent a sacked lunch with Cara out to the Pack Safe House. A lunch consisting of butter chicken and the other Indian goodies that the cougar loved had been brought in foam containers from the local restaurant. Jason knew better than to bring Emily anything but; even if Indian food was not his particular cup of tea. When Jason had mentioned it was probably time for him to scoot, Emily had other plans it seemed. No sooner had his car keys been fished out of his pocket had the feline snatched them up and deposited them in cleavage. He sure hoped that the metal of the keys had been cold enough for her. It was what had initiated the wrestling match that was still going on that very moment and had taken a turn to be much more than that as Jason had lost his jacket and shoulder holster. Coincidentally... and conveniently (hmmmm) Jason's t-shirt had been ripped partially at the neck and down. Jason had lost track of time though as Emily bumped into her desk and he stumbled after her. Still trying to keep his balance, Jason had barely stepped into her before he was being shoved back again, this time with his leg held in place by hers. The werewolf could have played the part of a drunk by that point as he staggered back and partially landed in the office chair. The momentum sent both the wolf and the chair rolling back to smack into a bookshelf and jarring several of the books. A fat medical book coming rather close to smashing him in the head as it dropped to the floor with an even louder smack. "Christ, trying to kill me!" His voice was mildly hushed despite the noise that they were making in her office. He expected someone to walk in on them any minute now, though his wariness was starting to fade more and more. Not to mention he had done pretty well at trying to get his keys back (Emily's blouse hanging wide open was a testament to that). Jason pushed up and off of the chair to head back at the woman again, determined to get his keys, though the hiked up skirt put something else on his mind as well. A grin was spread over his lips as he moved toward her, his stance low as he made a grab with one hand to wrap around her hips and the backs of her legs. She would feel him try to pull her up and onto the desk, letting whatever was sitting on it go sliding off and flying to the floor. |

Things were becoming chaotic – not that Emi minded one bit, she was having a ball – as the werewolf tried for her again before she tripped him backward, sending him stumbling into the office chair. It was a sight that would have sitcom writers almost jealous as Jason rolled back and into the bookshelf, managing to almost get himself knocked out by one of Emilia’s biggest medical books sitting in there. Damn, she must have pushed him hard – oh well, sometimes a size advantage could be a disadvantage as well. Not her problem. Rather, the cougar laughed at the scene, nodding as Jason commented about her trying to kill him, “Mmhmm...” She’d stopped paying attention just long enough for the wolf to get the slip on her though as she realised he’d picked himself up quickly to launch at her once again. Emi squealed and tried to push him off her, but to no avail as he lifted her off the floor with one arm and tossed her across the desk. Boy, she was glad she didn’t have the laptop currently set up. It didn’t take much to figure out that something had changed other than his tactics though, when Emi glanced at the wolf. The positioning was just a little too convenient and despite the fact that she’d actually dressed rather conservatively today, the fact that pretty much all her lingerie – from her thigh high hose to the baby blue underwear – was fully exposed didn’t leave much room for any male to behave themselves. Still, she couldn’t stop giggling as she tried (but not very hard) to push the wolf off her or at least roll over. “On the desk, Soulja Boi? That is a little risky, non?” The blonde grinned wickedly then as she wrapped her legs around his hips so he couldn’t pull away as her hands shot forward. One went straight to one of his sides right where his secret ‘tickle spot’ was located, in order to distract him, while the other tugged easily on the zipper of his jeans. Fair was fair – if she was going to be stuck in her underwear, then she wasn’t going down alone. It might also manage to keep him distracted from trying to make another grab for the keys. In a quick move, she yanked down his pants, but before he could get his hopes up, and with a cheeky grin, her hand shot up to his other side where she put her full force into tickling the wolf. During which time, she was trying to writhe off the desk and keep him from pinning her arms. Only to find a moment later, that she’d actually run out of desk and the feline cried out as she slipped off, unsure whether the wolf would be able to hold them both up considering she’d been tormenting him. |

Not even a sorry for the book almost cracking his skull open? Looks like the gloves are off now. Though Jason hoped there was nothing too fragile on Emily's desk as several objects clattered to the ground. Papers and folders flew in various directions, fanning out on the floor around them as well. Within seconds the doctor's desk was cleared save for the woman who now decorated it. The new position giving Jason a better view of the blue underwear that peeked out from under her skirt. The flash of them stirring other ideas in Jason's mind. Emily really was bad for him. “On the desk, Soulja Boi? That is a little risky, non?” A smirk followed her question and Jason shook his head, "As if you really care." He quipped back to her before Emily proved that she probably did not by wrapping her legs about him once more. At least this time she did not move to shove him back and send him tumbling again. Instead, she did something much worse. "H-hey!" He gasped as her fingers dug into his ribs just under his arms, forcing Jason to jerk to one side involuntarily. Caught off guard there was not much he could do before he felt the front of his pants come undone and sunk around his ankles, "Damnit! Stop!" Jason could barely get the words out as he tried his best not to laugh and yet failing miserably in his attempts as he was assaulted with both hands. The werewolf's eyes were beginning to water, making it more difficult for him to find her wiggling arms especially as the the cougar started to wriggle out from under him, "Not... not so fast!" Just as he was able to grab onto her, did the desk under Emily disappear and he was pulled forward. Jason might have been able to catch her and pull her up, but his feet were tripped up in his own fallen jeans, causing him to go tumbling down onto the floor as well as on top of Emily. Luckily he caught himself before landing completely on her, but the position itself was not exactly G-rated either. At least the tickling had stopped and the tables had now taken a turn for the better (for Jason anyway), "You're not going anywhere now." He panted a little, catching his breath while he took the opportunity to make a reach for her bra. Grasping onto each side, he jerked it downward with a mischevious grin spread over his fast. "Now what are you gonna do?" |

Stepping into the hospital, the wereleopard grimaced slightly. He had never liked hospitals, the too bright white interior like something out of a horror film rather than inviting for the patients that needed to be there. He might have thought that a hospital that catered specifically to lycanthropes only would have been a little more earthy and inviting, but so be it. Aidan glanced around, not really seeing any sign for where he needed to go, but the reception desk ought to have the information he sought. In a moment he was moving to the desk, a small smile at the receptionist. “Excuse me Miss, but could you tell me where I might find Dr. Deveraux? It’s a matter of family importance, and I’d rather not have to page her and cause a big scene out in a public forum like this.” It was partially true at least. How do people react when they find out they have a brother they never knew about? Yes, he had the documents proving it, but even so some people still didn’t believe, or want to believe. He hoped Emily would not be one of those, but he was prepared for it just in case. The receptionist took a moment to glance him over before nodding agreement, and giving him directions to the good doctor’s office. Thanking her with a smile, Aidan inclined his head slightly and went off in search of the family he hadn’t known about until a month ago. It wasn’t a very long trip, and he was glad he hadn’t run into anyone to explain himself further. Explaining always took a bit of time, and now that Aidan was this close, doubt was slowly creeping up, and he didn’t want to give himself any reason to back out before at least meeting her. Down the hall from her door Aidan’s acute hearing picked up the sound of a couple of thuds and then muted talking. He could hear the voices, one male, one female, though could not make out what they were saying. Mildly alarmed, Aidan’s step increased, taking him more swiftly towards Emily’s office. The closer he got, the worse things sounded. Larger thuds now, the woman crying out. ”Damnit! Stop!” What the fuck was going on in there? Not…not so fast! ”You’re not going anywhere now. Now what are you going to do?” The last few steps were taken at a run, Aidan’s hand on the doorknob, shoving the door open hard enough so it crashed into the wall, doorknob getting stuck in the wall. Green eyes dark with sudden anger as they took in the chaotic mess of the office in an instant. His eyes snapped then to the couple on the floor. The dark haired man atop a blonde haired woman, who could only be Emily (she looked much like her mother, even though Aidan had only met her a few times). The mess, the words, the way they were situated. This man dared to rape his sister?! Aidan’s world hazed over red in a heartbeat, the usual tight control held on his Beast released sending a burning wave of metaphysical heat throughout the office and connecting hallway. Thought had, at that moment, escaped the usual cool head of the wereleopard, replaced by red hot rage at the defiling act. Two seconds after entering the room, tearing could be heard as Aidan’s clothing ripped and shredded as the change took hold. In place of the man was a giant snow leopard, half again the size of a normal leopard. Remnants of Aidan’s clothing still clung to the leopard, though the shoulder holster holding his gun clattered noisily to the floor. Like a streak of white lightning the leopard bunched back, leaping towards the pair, though aiming high to catch just the man and not Emily. If he managed to hit the man, the leopard would try to wrap him up in a semi-bear hug, razor sharp claws extended with the massive jaws lunging towards Jason’s throat or skull. Otherwise, Aidan would spin around as he skid, keeping the man in view as he would prepare another leap. Edited by Aidan Fanel, Dec 10 2008, 04:18 PM.

REINHA :: Queen of Thugs
|
Emi was giggling like an idiot as the werewolf tried desperately not to laugh at the tickling, but everything came crashing down as she slipped off the desk. She should’ve known better than to fool around and wriggle like she was right then. She squealed as she fell, clinging to the wolf despite the fact that she just knew he’d end up falling as well. And fall he did. The cougar felt her back and head thump on the ground, winding her just slightly as a dull ache formed in the back of her skull. At least Jason had managed to keep himself from squashing her underneath him. However, he did manage to take advantage of her momentary status of recovering from the drop by bringing his hands to her chest in order to yank down her bra. The cougar heard the bra straps snap under the force – that was a damn nice bra too, one of her favourites – and her eyes flashed open to look up at the werewolf’s mischievous grin, ”Now what are you gonna do?” She really was a terrible influence on the man... Well... she had a few things on her mind at that moment, considering their precarious positioning and the fact that she was frisky as hell with all the games. Emi really doubted that Jason was going to argue one little bit with the kinds of answers she might come up with too. Answers that didn’t particularly involve her door being slammed open before she could utter a word. The cougar’s head spun to glare at the intruder, all thoughts about her modesty clearly in the background beneath the aggravation of an stranger in her private space. Before she could even tell whoever it was to get the hell out, she saw the raw rage in his eyes as he fluidly shifted into a snow leopard, and her own anger was subdued beneath the realisation that they could be in danger. Wait... no... He was glaring specifically at Jason. The woman didn’t have time to ponder on how things must have looked or why the wolf was the target of the newcomer. As the leopard shot toward them, the woman acted purely on protective instinct of her friend, pushing with one of her legs to roll them so that Jason wasn’t exposed enough to latch onto. Unfortunately it meant her own shoulder was slightly raised and she gritted her teeth with an almost feline scowl from her human lips as claws rented her own flesh slightly. Something almost made her pause about the scent of the other feline though – almost as though she should have recognised something in it. It wasn’t enough to make her sit and wait for another attack though, and free from beneath Jason, the woman quickly pushed herself behind the opposite side of the desk from the leopard, not bothering to close the now torn blouse that was absorbing some of her own blood. She needed to get to her tranquiliser gun, and fast. Edited by Emilia Deveraux, Dec 10 2008, 11:19 PM.

The wolf was curious what Emily would say or do now that he finally had her pinned on the ground and he had effectively fished his keys out of her bra. Of course Jason had accidentally ripped her undergarment in the process. Though, given the view, he was not exactly sorry for it. In fact it only reinforced the idea of taking their positions as an opportunity for a little more fun. Emily really made Jason dare to be more spontaneous that he was normally. However, those thoughts were extinguished as if they had never been when the door to Emily's office swung wide. He had wondered earlier if someone would investigate the noises that originated from their horseplay, but Jason had not anticipated the force in which the door had been flung. Not until the doorknob slammed into the wall and was embedded there. The scent of leopard was the first thing to hit Jason, that in itself an oddity considering his lack of contact with the Pard or any leopard. The second was the hot blast of lycanthropic power that rolled across his skin. Jason's eyes met the man's eyes that glared with a boiling rage. The stranger's green eyes melted away, as well as the rest of the man as he shifted suddenly. What was even more startling, and added a new level of danger, was the little to no effort involved in the shift. The action so fast that the torn clothing still clung to the lycanthrope who had taken the shape of a snow leopard. Before the werewolf could move more than a few inches, Emily thrusted upward to roll them to one side; causing Jason to miss the fact that he was the attacker's intended target. While thankfully it kept him just under the wicked claws that came at them; Emily was not so lucky as he heard her and then smelled the blood from the wound; the scent all too familiar to Jason. Combined with the initial attack from this stranger, injuring Emily was the breaking point for the werewolf. Ever since he had discovered her five years ago, the wolf had made sure to always protect the woman and her child to make sure nothing like that ever happened again. With Emily up and out of the way (hopefully to safety), Jason rolled himself all the way over onto hands and knees. Within the amount of time it took his palms to hit the ground, fur, that ranged from light gray to a darker almost black coloration, had already sprouted all over his body and Jason had lost much of his human appearance. When he sprang from his current position to leap toward the leopard, there was nothing left of his human self. The pain of the shift was minimal and within seconds of assuming his wolf form, it was non-existant; many years spent purposefully shifting and perfecting the transition to thank. Just short of being the size of a pony, the wolf soared toward the leopard. If his mark his, Jason's jaws would aim for the feline's thickly furred neck. At all costs he had to protect Emily and he would be damned if he let anyone lay a mark on her and not pay for it. Edited by Jason Young, Dec 11 2008, 10:34 AM.

Aidan landed easily with tiny thuds, instant regret for bringing his sister to any harm, but riding the wave of burning rage at the man who thought to defile her in her own office. As he spun around easily on the tile floor, a partial glance saw Emily moving behind the desk out of the way. Excellent, now she’d be safe and he could deal with her assailant. Pale green eyes locked onto the man as he shifted just as fast as Aidan himself did. Dog, he should have known that only a mutt would do the things he was doing. A hissing growl came from the snow leopard; deep, low and menacing. Watching the wolf leap at him, the growl cut off, and Aidan became a silver streak as he turned slightly, pushing off of the floor and up into the air towards the wall close to the corner. Aidan’s claws sank easily into the wall as he then used the built up momentum to push off of the wall and to the other one perpendicular to the one he was at a moment ago. Then like a springboard, the snow leopard pushed off of the wall barreling towards the side of the pony sized wolf. Another snarling growl came out with the push from the wall, just to emphasize the power behind the springing attack, like a martial artist’s kiai. |

Jason was certain that he would land on the leopard and at least have a better chance of clamping down on the feline. He needed a clear shot to latch on with his powerful jaws to tear through the thick fur that no doubt protected the attacker in order to get to the flesh underneath and cause serious damage. Unfortunately for the werewolf, the snow leopard had agility on his side while Jason was more brute strength, even if he was not as large as other werewolves. Suspended in mid jump, Jason felt the contact against his side and effectively knocking the wind clean out of him. The leopard had been able to move quickly enough when Jason had first launched himself and as a result the wolf had been left wide open for the side tackle. The grey wolf fell into the bookshelf that he had struck earlier, causing more books to fall forth and rain down once again. Being larger also made him more resiliant to the strikes though while he drew in heavy pants through his parted jaws. A snarl gripped his throat, partially cut off by his gasps for air, as he pushed up to rise once more. With fur bristled and golden eyes wide and wild, Jason halted his offense and instead began a circling posture with his body hunched and head low. More growls of challenge tore from his wrinkled muzzle, fangs bared in a gesture that beckoned the leopard. Let him make the first mistake... |

Had his intent not be to try and kill the werewolf attacking his newfound sister, the solid muscle that the snow leopard came into contact with would have given him something to pause and think about. That was not the case in this instance however, and as Aidan’s stocky, muscular forelimbs tried to wrap around the large wolf, they collided with the book shelf. The sudden sharp crack as a heavy volume smacked into the leopard’s head, then fell to his paw. Releasing a screeching hiss, the leopard jumped back towards the center of the room, sitting there for a moment to take the time to lick the injured paw. Doctor’s reference books, why did they have to be so damned heavy? Then the wolf snarled, though didn’t sound particularly good. That changed as the wolf started pacing, the predator hunting the prey now it would seem. Dropping his paw back to the ground, Aidan bared his fangs, crouching low and bunching into a tight compacted mass of thick fur and tensed muscles. So the wolf wasn’t going to make the first move? So be it. Aidan exploded into the air, tail flashing out towards the wolf in a quick whip-like movement while the snow leopard traveled up. Traveling in a high and tight arc, Aidan was letting gravity do his work for him. At the peak of the arc, the leopard’s body shifted so it would come down towards the wolf all fangs and claws. |

The cougar had known that the wolf wouldn’t stay calm and the moment she moved he was already beginning to shift. Not that there was much to stay calm about as she heard the thud of large bodies clashing while she made a straight line for one of her book cases. The stinging bite of her own wound was easily ignored as she sensed the careful approach of a small crowd outside her office as other members of staff began to pick up on the disturbance going on. This wasn’t simply horseplay that could easily be brushed off – two alpha fucking lycanthropes were trying to kill each other. The sound of scowling brought her attention as she quickly shoved the shelf aside, revealing a large panel that was built into the wall and wouldn’t be noticed but for the small security panel. It had been one of the first things Emily had installed when she’d claimed the office – one could never be too cautious, especially working around other shifters. She glanced at the two who were preoccupied over the other corner of the office for the time being before keying in the security number for the lock. Emi’s head spun back as the small vault clicked open, the sound of crashing followed by books raining down pulling a frown to her features as she spotted the mess. Her office was being trashed. Without wasting another moment, her hand reached in to the virtual trove of goodies she had sitting in the safe, pulling out a tranquilizer pistol and a magazine of darts which she quickly loaded. A challenging growl could be heard coming from Jason, and she decided enough was enough. Spinning back around, the blonde was just in time to see the leopard spring in the air to attack the wolf and she brought the pistol up. With years of practise behind her it took barely a moment to line up the feline midair, before she shot toward its midsection and rump with two darts. Her hand came straight down to aim at the wolf’s torso before another couple of darts were airborn. Jason might be annoyed with her later, but better safe than sorry and she didn’t want to risk the wolf taking the advantage in his current state to maul the snow leopard before she got to ask questions. Emilia’s hand remained steadily aimed at the pair of shifters though until she was sure she'd got them both. Realising the cool draft from the hall, along with the stares of a couple of nurses or interns, her free hand came up to hold the front of her blouse closed as she sighed. This was not how she'd expected her lunch break to turn out. |

The leopard had received a good smack on the head and then his paw from the books that had tumbled carelessly to the floor. Jason had lucked out in that regard and it allowed the two of them to seperate long enough to rethink their strategies. Just the sight of the leopard licking the paw that had been smacked by one of the thick medical books drew a snort from the wolf's nostrils. As if to laugh at the house cat-like antics. When the leopard bunched up, it put Jason even more on edge. Both shifted lycans looked simply wild with their fierce eyes wide and pupils that had shrank to tiny dots. His fangs glistened in the flourescent lit room in a mirror of the leopard's just before a blur of white and black entered his vision and then disappeared once more. Another snarl cracked from Jason's throat as he hunched low to prepare for the impact now that the feline was above him. His powerful jaws would be much harder to avoid now as the cat dropped. Rapid puffs of air were heard in another part of the office, though it was largely ignored by Jason until he noticed several objects that suddenly became embedded in the side of the feline. Curiously, Jason's wolven head whipped around to see the pistol in Emily's hands as she fired again, this time it was aimed at... him? The beast in him urged him to move and yet he was taken off guard by the fact that Emily had fired at him. The three darts penetrated his side easily, cutting through the thick gray fur to release the tranquiliser within. A mixture of a bark and snarl rose in his throat before his large paws began to move to carry him out from under the leopard that still loomed overhead; all of which happened in a matter of seconds. The beast wanted to escape the cougar who had shot at it and yet wanted to still continue the fight, not willing to lay down so easily. Jason had gotten only a few steps, moving out into the hallway before he dropped onto his haunches to try and kick out the darts with a rear leg. His panting already a bit more ragged. |

Aidan hadn’t even realized he had been hit until he started feeling suddenly lethargic, and the sight of the three darts hitting the big wolf registered what must have happened to him as well. Had she accidentally missed the wolf on some shots? And why did a doctor have a tranquilizer gun in the first place? The sudden wandering thoughts brought Aidan’s attention back to crystal clarity. He had to be bigger now, had to make sure that Emily was safe from this monstrous mutt. As the wolf darted away from being pounced upon, Aidan shifted again, the motion flowing so easily it was like water. From full leopard to half, the impact was hard as clawed feet hit the floor where the wolf had been a moment before. He had to act quickly though, get rid of the wolf before the tranquilizer took him down. He could see the wolf slowing, and though he felt fine he knew the tranquilizers were just working their way through and it would only be moments before Aidan collapsed from them. Pushing off the ground, then man-leopard dashed after the wolf, fingers flexing to unsheathe all ten of the wickedly long and sharp talon-like claws. Using the claws more for grip than intent to rend flesh, the snow leopard picked up the wolf, snarling, and hurled him down the hall. He hardly cared at all about the sudden group of observers, so focused was he on his target. Intent to finish off the werewolf, Aidan shrunk back down to the large leopard form after two steps towards the wolf. A leaping lunge was about to follow, but the sudden weariness in his limbs brought Aidan up short, stumbling on the fourth and fifth step of the sudden charge, and causing the leopard to fall, sliding sideways partially down the hall towards Jason. Panting heavily, a pitiful mewling growl came from the big cat, forepaws scrabbling at the tile floor for purchase to stand when the world sudden went fuzzy and then winked out altogether. As easily as he had shifted that first time, his body remembered the ease, and shifted back to his human form, still in the very tattered remains of the clothing he had worn on the way in. |

Jason growled in frustration as his rear leg scratched at his side to try and kick out the darts that pricked his skin. Not that it would have done much good as the drugs were speedily moving through the werewolf's system and Jason could feel the toll it was beginning to take. The most noticeable was the deeper breaths he was now forced to take, in addition to that jelly like feel that originated from his legs. The heavy thump from Emily's office brought Jason's head up to see that the attacker had smoothly transitioned into his hybrid form. The human within the wolf recognized the benefit as it added more mass for the drug to travel as opposed to the smaller feline. However the drug was working quickly through the wolf's system and his reaction times had been weakened when he started to rise and try to distance himself from the man-leopard. A step forward and Jason staggered to one side just before he felt his paws lift off of the ground and the world spin dizzily. He snarled as the claws bit at his flesh and his legs kicked uselessly before he was flung like a rag doll. Gasps and a few screams could be heard among the 'spectators' at the fight that was happening right before their eyes, no doubt the hallways radiated with Alpha maleness. The gray wolf hit the floor and bounced once, then twice before his furred form slid on his side until hitting the far wall at the end of the hall. A whine slipped from his parted jaws as he tried to lift his head, catching a blurred glimpse of the leopard dropping down to the ground. Now was his opportunity, if only he could get up... Taloned paws scrapped at the tiled floor until he finally rolled under the drug's effects and his eyes slid shut. The sound of fur receding and bones and muscle sliding back into the place was the only thing to originate from Jason until he returned to human shape, bare to the world. |

Though she’d hit them both, the two lycanthropes were still moving, and reading the intention of the wolf as he began to move toward the door, she yelled out to the staff who’d gathered, “Get out of the way!” A flare of female alpha energy was cast out so that those out there would listen and take heed of her warning, and she kept it stable to keep them reassured everything would be okay. She barely got one button on her torn blouse done up before the wolf was out the door, followed by the now hybrid leopard. It was around that time as the adrenaline was wearing off slightly that she realised her should was a little more hurt than she thought. But it’d heal, so she wasn’t too fussed. The doctor followed the other two lycanthropes out into the hallway quickly, trying to do up a second button, just as the leopard threw Jason. She winced slightly for the wolf, but was glad to see that the tranquilizers were working when both of them couldn’t move anymore, and whined their frustration at having been drugged. She’d feel a lot more sympathetic if her office didn’t currently look like a warzone and her shoulder wasn’t burning like a bitch. Just by her foot, in the doorway she noticed the stranger’s wallet, a gun holster (complete with gun, naturally), and keys. The woman snatched up the wallet quickly and glanced inside, furrowing her brow a little. Aidan Fanel. She couldn’t say she knew him; at least she didn’t think so. Maybe Jason did? A couple of gasps from the interns told her they’d noticed her injury, but she waved off a couple of requests to let someone see to it as she stormed down the hall toward the two bodies that had now shifted back to human form, forgetting she still had the pistol in her hand for the moment. With a sigh, she assessed the two men, and glanced around the small crowd gathered. “Can someone please remove the darts from Monsieur Young and take him back to my office?” The feline waved her hand in a ‘whatever’ gesture, “Just put him on the sofa, give him a blanket and gather his pants and jacket nearby for him when he wakes." She glanced up as someone mentioned that PPIT had been called and her eyes darted between the two, “Call Lieutenant Josselyn’s extension and see if she can arrange to take over this.” At least her stalk member would keep this low key, just in case it had to be. The doctor then knelt beside the man who’d barged in and attacked them. “And what to do with you now then, Monsieur Fanel?” Again his scent strangely reminded her of something she couldn’t remember or couldn’t quite put her finger on. She sighed and removed the darts, though something caught her eye in the remains of his jacket and she searched it to find papers in the inside pocket. She raised her eyebrows as she stood and took a peek, though her breathing stopped and skin paled considerably as she skimmed over the documents. Widened eyes stared at the male again before she turned to a nurse, “Get a syringe, I want a blood sample from him...” |

The old maxim seemed to always remain true in Kat’s professional life-if you wanted things done right you had to do it yourself. Which was probably why she was making the most of the severe insomnia she suffered by spending at least fifteen hours daily at the hospital working to get the Golden Cockerel’s morgue up to her standards. So far the only staff member Kat felt could be trusted without her immediate supervision was the young wolf Cara-the others? Positively useless. They had also learned that just because Kat was small that didn’t make her a push over and several egos had been deflated since her arrival. She liked a clean, organized and reliable morgue-that was the only way to provide good pathology and forensics and these sloppy fools weren’t going to tarnish the reputation the jaguar had spent years building for herself. That didn’t mean though that Kat didn’t take some well-deserved breaks and a craving for a chai latte had dragged her out of the basement and for a short walk to the cafeteria and around the hospital. She was starting to feel a bit tired enough to want to wrap up her reports and head home. At least then she could sleep until Leti came home from school in a few hours before making dinner for them both and heading back to the hospital again. Sipping from her take out cup Kat’s sensitive ears alerted her to a commotion going on near Doctor Devereaux’s office. On the alert the jaguar sped up her pace changing her focus toward the cougar’s space. She could feel the roil of lycanthropic energy the closer she got-as well as the panic of the staff nearby both human and other. Always one to take charge Kat started calling down her own aura as she hurried along-letting it roll out like a warm comforting blanket to soothe the frazzled nerves. Quickly the No’oh began to assess things beginning with the wolf and leopard slowly bleeding back into their human forms. Kat recognized the wolf as Mr. Young but she couldn’t place the leopard to save her life-the scent of blood widened Kat’s eyes as she took in Doctor Devereaux’s state of undress. The small jaguar clapped her hands together, “Alright now…there’s patients to see every one this is all under control. Get back to work everyone!” Kat was at Emi’s side and stripping off her own lab coat and handing it over to the younger woman with a maternal click of the tongue, “You’re going to need a few dissolving stitches here. Do you know the leopard at all?” |

Though there were a few people still stunned by the fight that had begun, most around knew to listen to the young doctor’s orders when she had the serious look that was currently set on her features. Quickly enough, a couple of nurses saw to Jason as per Emilia’s request and she glanced toward a young woman who looked as though she’d been scalded already as she spotted the man in the tattered suit. ”I-I’m sorry Doctor. I gave him the directions to your office, he said it was to do with family business. I should have called and told you there was someone here...” “It is alright, chere.” Emi spoke absently as she continued to flick through the documents, her brow furrowed in a confused frown. The possibility had always been there, she knew, but she’d never thought much on the idea of having other family. Of course, it probably didn’t help the girl’s much that Emi was still holding the tranq gun like it was a normal day to day thing. The brush of another’s aura could be felt, and Emi had to restrain the urge of her beast which was already spread around the area from being too territorial about another one attempting to take charge or soothe her. She knew Kat meant well, it was more the highly matriarchal leadership of her beast that didn’t like another encroaching on her turf so blatantly while she was already handling the situation. She consciously assured her other half that it wasn’t meant as a challenge. Considering there’d already been one pissing contest today which she had nipped in the bud, the Reinha really didn’t want to give into the animal side. Instead she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, clutching on to the papers which stated that Mister Fanel was closer to her than she’d have ever guessed. The clicking of Kat’s tongue was met with a serious glance when Emi opened her eyes again as the lab coat was placed over her shoulders, "Merci." She held her tongue from mentioning anything about her beast's reaction, and took another breath as she gestured for some of the people under her who'd remained and were looking to her for the order to go back to work to do so. Emi screwed her nose up a little at the thought of stitches and shrugged, “Fay will be here soon and would probably kick me in the behind... or pout sorrowfully... if I choose stitches over letting her heal me.” She chuckled lightly before it died out as she glanced at the papers at the reminder about the leopard. “Apparently I should know him...” ”I’ve got the blood Doctor,” The voice of one of the interns pulled her attention and Emi held her hand out to take the tube. “I suppose I will find out if what he was carrying is really accurate...” Emi spoke absently, though didn’t go into explaining what she meant just yet, “But we need to put him somewhere safe, for the time being.” |

As the call to Fay’s own extension came through, she was already on her way to the hospital. She had sent one of the newer team members to get some coffee from a cafe that sold real coffee, or at least coffee tastier than what PPIT’s budget laughably called nutritious. Because she was considerate in that she had used her rank to have someone run around for her, she‘d paid for the young woman to get a coffee of her own. As the troop came back, Fay heard a call from the desk next to hers stating that a fight had broken out in Doctor Deveraux’s office, it was lucky that the office used speaker phones when dealing with internal calls because she stood pretty quickly, saying that she’d take it. Smiling apologetically at the girl bringing her coffee, Fay took the cardboard tray with both cups, sliding across another note, “The Doctor needs coffee, and something better than what the hospital can provide. Here, get yourself another and keep the change.” She had a private chuckle as she reached her SUV that faded as she worried just a little about the call that she was taking, shifter fights could be ugly and while she knew that Emi could look after herself, she would always naturally worry. She was lucky that this had been called in since she was able to put her flashing light on the top of her SUV and get the sirens going, it grated on her extra sensitive hearing, especially as white noise was involved, but it was worth it to be getting there quicker. She knew the route by heart, having had to talk to several witnesses or victims at the hospital and she was quickly pulling in. She frowned as she felt the aura of another shifter, her own beast not liking it all too much. She took a deep breath and kept it from becoming an issue, she was here on PPIT business, most people here would sense her beast but there would be less chance of keeping anything quiet if she were to shift now, and that might well be necessary. Having told her beast in no uncertain terms that she was dealing with it, she followed the scent of blood towards Emilia. She frowned as she heard the comment about her likely pouting if she didn’t get to heal her, “For that, I should drink both coffees I purloined from my colleague after her coffee run.” There was a certain sparkle in her eye as she laid the cups down and nodded to Kat, “But I guess we’re not going to find out which.” Her eyes found the pistol and she frowned once more, “Just where do you keep that thing?” Having patched up Emilia a couple of times before, Fay gathered the partially innate gift that allowed her to cast white magic and started to draw the power that she needed to knit her wounds, it was a practised routine, she had been a de facto community healer before she was ever bitten. She felt a little of her energy drain as the spell took its price for the healing. She took up one of the cups of coffee and took a sip before flashing her identification card and introducing herself for the benefit of anyone there who did not know her, “I am Lieutenant Josselyn of the Parisian Preternatural Investigation Team, we had a call regarding a disturbance upon these premises.” She looked towards Emilia, “Would you mind filling me in on what happened?” She had had her little bit of banter and she had healed her friend, but she was still here on a job and this was Emilia’s chance to tell her how she wanted this played in regards to what made it to the office. |

As the workers began to return to either their regular jobs or what they had been asked to help with Kat reigned in on her aura making sure to leave her signature feeling of calm. Years as Atan in New Mexico had the medical examiner used to using her power for these smaller subtle things-without her keeping Charles calm he would have attacked Alejandro long before he was ready. Not to mention the way she had been forced to bury her own emotions in regard to the situation. Though in truth even before becoming a jaguar Kat had been a calming presence playing peacemaker amongst her brothers or even sometimes their parents. Love each other though Kat knew they did that didn’t mean her mother and father didn’t fight like cats and dogs sometimes. An unexpected wince of homesickness for her family struck Kat just as she felt a bit of a roil in Dr. Devereaux’s beast. Perhaps it was a good thing that she had pulled back on her power since the jaguar had forgotten how tetchy female alpha cougars were about others ‘interfering’ with things they had in hand. Or at least they had been back in New Mexico. It was something that was hard to understand for the more communal spirited jaguars-the alphas did their best to work together and pool power to achieve things. They were more like leopards in that way. None of it really mattered as action began to take place again snapping the doctor back into reality as the younger woman accepted the lab coat while examining a sheaf of papers that had apparently come from the leopard. Kat shrugged at the insistence about letting someone heal her instead of stitching the wounds, “To each their own. What’s accurate? Blood?” Kat’s eyes skimmed the paper quickly not wanting to invade Dr. Devereaux’s privacy-her brown eyes were quickly moved away as she grasped the situation. Looking over at the unconscious stranger Kat offered a smile as another female cougar approached them and the ME assumed this was ‘Fay’. The sooner they could tidy this all up the better though and Kat put herself forth to help, “I think I can help on both. The new vampire room should hold him and I’ve got the equipment to test the other quickly and quietly. Should only take a couple hours. And it is a bit more-private-down in the morgue.” |
