(This may be a dumb idea but it seemed good when I thought of it) Breaking News Reporter Voice Over: “The famous Vampire Rights Activist from America, Nova was discovered landing in Paris earlier tonight. His arrival came as unexpected, especially in these changing times with Madame President Iveriot’s new laws coming into action.” A shot of the rockstar looking Nova descending from the stairs of a private Jet onto the concourse of the airport can be seen. Flashbulbs going off illuminating the dark sunglass wearing blonde haired male. A broad smile on his face showing a hint of teeth but no fang. He pauses as the group of reporters surround him, seeming to be used to such attention. Reporter: “Nova… Nova… Why have you come to Paris?” Nova: “I thought that would be obvious in these changing times. I have come to put a good face to those Madame President Iveriot seems to fear.” Reporter: “Nova… Has the American government sent you here?” Nova: “No. I am not now nor have I ever been employeed by the United States Government or any of it’s affiliates. I am here of my own free will as a U.S. citizen only hoping to make a case for those whom do not have such rights as I do. Of course I would love to meet the Madame President or her council to discuss such matters.” Reporter: “Do you plan on complying with the new laws? Will you allow yourself to be tagged?” Nova shakes his head with his playboy smile turning directly to reporter. Nova: “I am a U.S. citizen. I am only a visitor here in this country. I will not be participating in the tagging process here if only to uphold my rights as a citizen from another country. I will obey the laws that govern this country but this law is directly against my rights as a Citizen of another country. Madame President Inveriot is welcome to contact me. I would love to have a sit down with her to discuss her fears about what I am and what I will do within her country. For they are only fears. There is no need or want for me to harm anyone here.” Reporter: “Nova how can we be assured you will not kill if you are not tagged. You could easily hide the bodies.” Nova turned on the reporter keeping the smile on his face. Nova: “You have my word. Is that not all you would need from any other. Or are you and the government so prejudiced? Shall I recount history of what happens when prejudice and bigotry come into play?” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nova paused the Tivo. No the press conference had not gone exactly as he had planned but it had been a start. At least the country believed that he had just arrived rather then the truth of the matter that he had been there as months as a member of the Vampire Council itself and was indeed speaking for a larger body then just a legal Vampire U.S. citizen. His fellow council members would probably be furious that he had put himself out into the public eye like this without clearing it threw them but he had to take a stand as the laws started to be put into place. He had to let the president know that there was another side to her fears. He was the best candidate for the job as he had no kills within the last two hundred years. Not from feeding at least. He, of course, as Master of the City, had had to take care of a few Rogue Vampires who had gotten out of hand. But he somehow didn’t think that this government would see those as murders of life. Even if Nova had. With a sigh Nova fell back onto the plush pillows of the giant day bed in his main room. Fiddling with the remote to the TV he rewound the piece to the beginning. The piece had ran shortly after he had ‘landed’ at 9 pm that night. It was now nearly midnight. He had spent hours evading the reporters and law alike. Leading them on a wild goose chase and setting up a rented townhouse in the city proper as where he was staying. After doing that it had taken him more hours to return to the Ossuary. With a sigh Nova stopped the Tivo and returned to the live TV coverage. As he thought there was a reporter standing outside the townhome he had set up as he recluse. Police barricaded a growing group that stood outside. Warring sides seemed to be yelling at each other. Signs asking Nova to walk into the Sun and explode like the star he was named after, held against signs that merely asked him to go home, warred with Signs that said Nova I love you and Peace for all Vampires signs. Without surprise the police seemed more intent on policing those who seemed to be on Nova’s side of thinking. Reporter: “It seems that the protests may go on all night. There has been no further sign of Nova or anyone within the home. Perhaps he has gone to coffin already?” Nova groaned and flipped the TV off. Had he been to sure of the people’s response to his arrival? Were there no more compassionate people? Edited by Nova, Dec 5 2008, 05:13 AM.

OOC: I'm going to perth soon, but I will reply when I get back if we don't get to finish the thread before then! Masaru had not exactly cared that Nova had made a public appearance, though he knew not all his fellow council members felt the same way. The TV show had aired just hours beforehand, and Masaru had been impressed by the vampire's media presence. However the fact that he had not spoken to his council members beforehand had not been a wise move. Masaru knew that a couple felt like they had been insulted by his actions, and so Masaru had suggested that they meet with him. Unfortunately, most of his fellow council members had been distracted by other business - both personal and political. And so, Masaru had gone to The Haven himself, to talk, and perhaps, congratulate Nova on a job well done. Entering The Haven, it wasn't long before he spotted Nova sitting on a couch, opposite the tv. "You certainly know how to make an entrance." Masaru stated, before taking a seat alongside the council member. Masaru had no misgivings about Nova, who seemed to have the right intentions at heart. "You are rather popular with the Americans...what are you going to do about the protesters? You know how humans get...you might go back to discover your house in ruins." It wouldn't be the first time such an event had happened, which was why most of them were very careful about revealing their whereabouts. It wouldn't serve well to be killed whilst they slept. He was making small talk, and he was sure that Nova was aware of that fact. Instead of skipping around the subject he had come there to discuss, he went straight to it. "You are aware that your actions have caused...a little bit of a dispute within the council, yes?" He raised his hands, as if to show he meant no offense. "It has been centuries since some of us made any sort of proper communication with the public, and I think some fear the results of such a thing - and your impulsive actions have only brought these things to light faster than normal." Masaru personally didn't feel like Nova had done anything wrong - but he knew that holding a press conference without consulting fellow council members was a strict no-no. "I hope there was a good reason for doing so, or else I fear your predicament in the next council meeting." |

Nova’s head lifted as his door opened. Giving a nod to Masaru as he entered. A smile pulling at Nova’s lips as Mas commented on the impromptu press conference. “The owners of the townhouse have been will compensated. They knew to whom they were renting and the possible consequences. The house is empty so they only people who could possibly be hurt are those that try and hurt in the first place.” Nova said in a blasé tone. Nova nodded as Masaru cut to the chase about his actions. “I am fully aware that some of them will take issue with what I’ve done. But there are numerous and layers of reasons for doing what I have done. None of which would have been solved with getting the council’s permission.” Nova sat back on the deep couch. Practically laying down upon it, his torso flat, his head propped up slightly against the back. Knees bent to plant his feet on the floor. He played with the remote of the now muted TV, flipping it and slapping it against his bare torso. “Exactly my point my friend. It has been centuries since any of you has tried to speak to the public reasonably. That is why we find ourselves in this predicament now. Because the old council, us even choose only to cloister ourselves away and sit on our high horses and act like gods. Of course the human’s fear us, because they do not know us. They know only the bad things, the things the stupid ones have let the human’s see. We need to put a spin on things. Give them something else to look at. Who better to put a happy shiny smily face on our kind then me.” Nova beamed. “I could not go to them as a council member. I went to them as me. Strictly me. I know Madame Iveriot may see me as a threat try to kill me even but I will keep on coming back at her until she learns she has nothing to fear from me as a vampire. Only my anger at being treated as something less then she is. Is it not better this way… for all of France thinks I am merely some uppity American Vamp come to stick his nose in their business. And yet I have the oppurtunity now to speak not only for Vampires in general but for the council itself. And they need never know that.” Nova spoke casually as if it were any Tuesday. (OOC: No worries you get to it when ya can) |

"How...considerate of you to tell them." Masaru stated, his eyes on the surroundings around them. Not all vampires simply told the owners - most of them mind-fucked their way through mortals, and council members were no exceptions. Though Masaru respected most mortals and their lives, that did not stop him from rolling their minds when he needed to. "It is still a shame that the house will most likely become damaged." Masaru shook his head at Nova's next words. "Despite your reasons, I do not think that acting on your own will was a wise decision. Even if you choose to disobey what the council decided upon, at least they would have known your reasonings for doing so. As it stands, most of them believe that you have insulted them, or that you are naive or disobediant. Your actions will most likely be reviewed." Masaru did feel that council meetings were slow however he believed them nessecary to keep the peace between all vampires, especially the council - a peace that Nova had broken with his rash actions. Masaru sighed at Nova's next words, running a hand through his hair as he listened. "Nova, it has been centuries since any vampire has been accepted. Only recently have the laws that have given us 'human' rights been established. I am sure you remember the days where we were shot on sight." Masaru remembered, because of Sakura if nothing else. "Humans have no right to know the affairs of vampires. Underneath it all, we are still bloodsuckers, creatures that live off their life essence. I doubt that acceptance can ever be possible in such a case. All you need to do is go to a humans first meeting to see such a thing." Nova was beaming, talking about humans being happy about vampires, and Masaru had to wonder how naive Nova was. He didn't bother shaking his head, rather, he just kept his face blank. "Regardless of whether you think you are going as a council member or yourself, you are representing the council, and they are not pleased. As for our...friend...Madame Iveriot, I doubt she will stop seeing us as a threat when she dies. There is no other way for her rather radical mind to function, but to see us as a threat." Masaru's voice was monotonic. "Now you have made a public appearance, the humans will expect you to be tagged. You will become an example for vampire kind. And once you are tagged, you will not be allowed back in the Ossuary. You cannot lead humans to our sleeping place. You risk the humans killing you on sight if you are not tagged, and if you are tagged, you risk being outcast. I do not understand your plan." Masaru finished, his eyes on the mute TV. |

"If they believe I have insulted them let them come to me and tell me so and I will clear the air between us. Is that why you've come here Mas? Because I have insulted you on some level. Because I thought for myself? Or because I don't hide in the darkness?" Nova asked getting a little upset at how touchy the council seemed to be. This was exactly why he had done what he had done. Put a more human face on Vampires rather then the sticks in the mud this place seemed to hold dear. Nova shook his head as Mas went on about remembering the days when they had been shot at. Maybe he had... but unless you were openly feeding or openly showing your fangs Nova had not encountered such problems in his days. "Evolution my friend. Things change and that is what you and the rest of the council needs to understand. Rather then getting stuck in your own head, your own time you need to evolve and move with the times brother." Nova shook his head. Mas surely was an embodiement of his title. Nothing but a downer. Nova sat up to look at Masaru. "I agree that human's have no right to govern us or know our affairs. Nor do we need special laws because of WHAT we are. I try to adhere to the human laws as much as possible. Everyone bends them a little, it is human nature. But what you are saying Mas, that we ARE different, that we are parahia that live off them. THAT is exactly why they are doing this. YOU are exactly the reason that they fear us." Nova sighed standing up to his full height he tossed the remote behind them. "I think you missed the point of my little speech there." Nova said a hand flashing to indicate the TV. "I will not be tagged as it is against my rights as a citizen of the United States. I am seen as equal to a human there. Having no rights or priveledges in difference against them. If I kill I will die just as any of them would die if they killed." Nova spoke spouting of his beliefs yet again. "DO you think Madame Iveriot would back any of those who attempted to kill me? Do you REALLy think she wants to start an international Incident with the United States and their self appointed goodwill ambassador?" Nova asked with a grin. "I risked only myself Mas. I will only be in public as myself when I need to get another message across. Otherwise no one will know I am here. Your precious Ossuary is safe." Nova shook his head. Thinking Masaru's views so small and petty. Did he not understand that you had to change in order to evolve. This COUNCIL had to change. And soon. "Everyone can change Mas. Perhaps even Madame Iveriot. With some coaching. I can be rather charming when I want to be." Nova teased with a waggle of his eyebrows. He sighed turning his back on Masaru to grab the remote. Holding it over his shoulder he shut the TV off. "If they others have issue with what I've done tell them to either come to me or call a meeting. If it is you yourself that have the issue say so and stop hiding behind the others. OPen your mind Masaru. See the new millenium. Human's may still shot at you but that's your own doing. Not theres." |

Shiina | The Undead One
|
When it came to vampire terms, Shiina always thought herself to be a pacifist. In human terms, she may be described as an intelligent predator. She always saw human law as a bit of a nuisance and no matter how hard they tried to adapt it to the very public vampire community, she would never feel as just the everyday Jane Citizen. No vampire ever could. Mostly due to the fact that she was the humans' supernatural predator. The fact that vampires killed humans to survive did kind of did put a damper on peace plans a bit. Not that she actually tried making peace with them much... She didn't even welcome humans to her bar. If they tried to enter and couldn't defend themselves, they were food. Simple. So when this new so called 'Peacekeeper' came about, Shiina felt she needed to see him for herself. She had to make sure he was what his preceeding reputation suggested he was. So when she'd heard he was at home in his part of the Ossuary, approripately named 'The Haven', she decided to pay him a visit. She had only just returned to the Ossuary that day herself so she was curioius. She'd heard that he was a rather young one for a council vampire, so she could easily disguise her presence around him. Which she did as she walked down the halls, her mary-jane heels clicking on the hard floor and her dress trailing behind her due to her speed. Tonight's outfit consisted of her usual satin corset, long, flowing skirt and gravity defying hair. This time the color scheme was black with silver lining. Intricately designed makeup and a silver and diamond encrusted hairpiece completed the mature porcelain doll look. She wasn't sure what sort of look a vampire diplomat such as The Peacekeeper sported. So on her first meeting, she wanted to simply make an impression based on appearance. She'd work her way up from there if needed. It was quite easy to sense out the most powerful presence in The Haven and follow it. It came from two separate entities. She followed the direction they were in until she found herself at a door that was creaked slightly open. Inside some passionate voices argued. Or rather, lectured. "...We need to put a spin on things. Give them something else to look at. Who better to put a happy shiny smily face on our kind then me.” Shiina paused at the door and listened to the odd words as they were exchanged by the two men in the other room. She quietly opened the door she listened intently to the conversation in disbelief between the two men. She was pretty sure she was hearing what was beind discussed correctly. But she wasn't so sure if she was actually processing it correctly and if there was something she was missing. Were those two for real? Figuring it was time to make her presence known to the distracted vampires, she opted for a very simple entrance. She stood there in the shadowy entrance, perfectly poised, one gloved hand resting on her hip while the other held a folded lace fan in front of her chest. "Well you, you're quite something." She said, her eyes fixed on 'The Peacekeeper'. "A one vampire revolution. How noble of you. If only you weren't a bloodsucking monster like the rest of us. Actually, the bloodsucking monster. Not a monster." She grinned and with a flick of her wrist, unfolded the fan. |

Masaru didn’t answer Nova’s questions out loud. Had he insulted him on a personal level? No. Had he insulted the council in general? Yes, Nova had. The council had always been meant to be seen, not heard, and it seemed that Nova was trying to change something that had never been meant to change – at least in Masaru’s opinion. Despite Nova’s talk, Masaru doubted that any sort of prey would accept the predator in their society, and Nova seemed to think the exact opposite to him. It was an interesting viewpoint, but one that Masaru certainly didn’t agree with. The separation was what made things easier, in some ways. “In the end, they are your actions, and the consequences of which will be revealed at a later date.” He shrugged nonchalantly, his attention diverted to the clicking of shoes in the halls outside. The shoes sounded familiar, as did the amount of distance between steps. Masaru’s eyes narrowed. He had thought that Shiina had taken a long leave from council to look after her bar or something of the sort…but apparently not. He frowned very visibly as the door opened, and the glorious vampiress entered into the room, speaking in that same condescending tone she always did. "One could say the exact same about you, Shiina." Masaru said, not bothering to keep the distaste out of his tone. "You're a bigger monster than most of us. In fact, I'd even go as far as to say that you are a psychotic bloodsucking bitch." Masaru had still not quite forgiven her for killing his workers at Akutagawa Funeral Parlour. He still had no leads that it was her behind it, but he had his suspicions, and her presence that day had been more than a little co-incidence. "You have no business here, Shiina. Eavesdropping is not fitting of you." |

"I look forward to this talk of conseuences. Any oppurtunity to voice my opinions on the need for change." Nova said non chalantly. That was the problem with the council and most of the european Vamps he encountered. They still saw themselves as predators. As killers. When now with the knowledge of their existence there were lines of those offering their blood, a rather lengthy buffet in some cases where one need not extinguish their meal in order to be satisfied. Only years of having to starve before getting a meal had impressioned those to drink until they killed. That was what needed to change as well as the close minded. Those of his kind had to change their habits as well and that was probably the harder of the tasks. Immortals could be so bullheaded. It seemed he and Masaru were in sync with at lease one thing as they both turned to the door at the sound of the approaching heels. Nova went to sit onthe edge of his overly large sofa as Shiina entered spouting about him being a bloodsucking monster just like the rest of them. "Monster... that seems to be a relative term to you I suppose. I defy you to find anyone of my meals who would call me such a thing. And I assure you that every meal I've taken in the last 300 years has left me living. When they came to their end it was not my doing. So I do not see myself as THE or A monster anything..." Nova smiled. He shook his head as Masaru spouted off on Shiina for being exactly what she accused him off being. He held up his hand as Masaru tried to dismiss the woman. "Now now... my door is always open. I am always for hearing criticism. I may not take it or agree with it, but it may be a decent character builder." He turned back to Shiina. "You are welcome to join this conversation. Though if you've come just to spot off names at me I do find that rather useless to growing and amending. But if you care to share some more insight I am all ears." Nova said lounging back in his sofa. "Or if the two of you would care to spar I'd ask you leave my quarters to do so. I hate having to bother the servants with repairs and clean up. Especially when I try so hard not to cause any myself." Nova said sounding rather unamused. |

Shiina | The Undead One
|
Shiina smiled a very sweet, ladylike smile at Masaru's very welcoming remark to her. "Hello to you too Masaru. Long time no see." She moved from the doorway and approached the two men, standing very uncomfortably close to Masaru as he and Nova spoke. "I'll take your remark as a compliment as I don't deny it. And quite to the contrary my dearest, I am here to meet the Peacekeeper. One council member to another. Not to eavesdrop on anything. It's mere coincidence that you're here too." Every word she said was patient and with only her best manners in place. She was rarely this nice to anyone. Just Masaru. But only because it really got to him. He was a fun one to have his buttons pushed. He always reacted so well... She then, still standing close to Masaru turned to face the Peacekeeper with the same friendly smile on her face. From what she'd overheard from the conversation in place, the Peackeeper was obviously a naiive schmuk. She was curious to see how far it would get him before something bigger and badder that didn't agree with his points decided to come along and bite his head off with it's big monster teeth while he was giving one of his vampire goodwill speeches. "I thank you for the warmest welcome. And do forgive me for my crudeness. I was rather... taken back by your point of view on our kind." She said, friendly and apologetic. Still smiling lightly. "You must see it from my point of view. Monster is a relative term. And it's a rather appropriate one for a species that eats that which they once were to survive and have the ability to turn into a crazed revenant if denied that particular nutritional supplement." She paused a moment to allow what she said to sink in and then continued again. "You see, the simplest way may be do describe it may be with a human and chicken analogy. Let's say the humans were the chickens and vampires were the humans in this case. Chickens fear humans and humans are well aware of their superiority over chickenkind. They only see chickens as foods. Of course, there is the occasional animal lover that may only eat chicken eggs or and not the entire bird, but the vast majority of the human race will still enjoy their roast chook for dinner. And no matter how the chickens may adapt their laws to suit the humans’ presence, fact will always be, the chicken is the food and the human is the predator. Or in our case, human is the food, vampire is the predator. Does that make sense to you?" She didn't even bother looking at Masaru whom she didn't even have go guess was not happy by their physical closeness. "And don't worry about us. I can be quite agreeable. Him too. It just takes him a few Predator's cocktails and a bit less clothing to do so." |

OOC: Short, but okay. XP Masaru frowned when Nova mentioned that his door was always open. “You may wish to reconsider that offer.” He murmured, saying nothing more beyond that. He shook his head at the mention of sparring – it was barbaric, and there were already council rules preventing such a thing. He would not put himself up for death sentence simply because Shiina’s precense offended him so. “If there is to be any fighting between myself and anyone else in this room right now, it will certainly not be physical. This I can assure you of.” Shiina smiled sweetly, and he stiffened as she approached him. He smiled pleasantly to her, though they both knew it was purely for show. “Of course you are. He has made quite the entrance.” He remarked, his tone light and airy as if he did not have a care in the world. “And now that you have met him, I assume you want to stay? I think I have important business to attend to,ones that do not involve your help.” He remarked pleasently. He stayed to listen to Shiina’s chicken theory, and despite agreeing with parts of it, he did not wish to say so. Her stance so close to him annoyed him, but he didn’t give her any ground either – he was not going to move out of pure stubbornness. “You make everything sound so crude, Shiina. It is quite the talent, you have there.” Her last remark made him want to punch her in the face. He stood icy still, like a statue, refusing to react to what he saw as an insult. |

"You may eat... complete or turn at will. We do not need to extinguish to survive. Not anymore." Nova reiterated as the woman Shiina tried to argue her way that it was their nature to feed upon and kill humans. It was their nature to survive upon blood yes. But it was not vampire nature to kill... that was an indivualist point of view and one he choose not to see himself. Nova flopped his fingers and shrugged slightly as Masaru assured him there would be no physical voilence between him and anyone else. "I would hope neither of you would do anything metaphysical either. I would have to protect the safety of my Haven and I would hate to have to force my powers upon you both." Nova warned slightly. But as Masaru decided it better to leave Nova could only nod in agreeance. It seemed that the council had much infighting. He hated to be a part of it but neither was he a rug to be walked upon. He had to make his stance and motives known and understood. Perhaps if he could get a few to his side of thinking they could make changes to the whole of Vampire kind. Make them accepted globaly. Not just in small patches of the world. He sat back in his sofa still listening to Shiina try and explain her analogy of the human and the chicken. He sighed. "It makes sense but that is a very human analogy. And exactly why these human's are trying to put laws into place to make the consumption of," He put air quotes around the next word, "chicken outlawed. You forget that the Human was never a chicken. Whereas we were once human. It changes the whole analogy completely." Nova spewed aloud. Nova sighed as Masaru had to make a comment as well and Shiina had to back it up with a blatant statement about something that Masaru would have rather left unknown. Nova choose simply to ignore it. "If you wanted to argue that humans evolved from the ape that would be one thing. But I think you will find fewer human's that actually eat an ape. So your analogy is actually pandering to the very humans who want to set these laws upon our head. If we showed them something different, something other then what they already believed wouldn't they be forced to rethink t heir choices. That is why I am doing what I am doing dear Shiina. We must get them to see things in a different light before we are once again forced to hide what we are, and hunted on the street. Then we will once again be the things they feared, and it will be there doing. If we can remain in the light, so to speak, things will be better for everyone all around. We will not have to hunt for food and worry where our next meal will come from and so we over drink." Nova shook his head. "Perhaps I should have started internally though. I see I have alot of work ahead of me." Nova sighed. And he was only one person. |

The Kinslayer, Council Member
|
Vasilious had been no help, he had simply brushed the issue aside and once the meeting had ended she headed back to 'The Playground' only to find out from her spy of the meeting of 3 other Council members within 'The Haven' and that had set her off again. If anything Vasilious had succeeded in calming the child vampire down but that had only been a momentary accomplishment. It was then she desided she would invite herself too this conferance, she feared what her colleuges and rivals were discussing and still the actions of 'The Peacekeeper' had not been discussed. Making her way into The Haven Isadora glared any challenges as to her business into submission sensing her way to the presense of The Peacekeepers company. As she approached she found them to be Masaru and Shiina, an odd match for allies in any situation her angry if anythng was fueled by this discovery. She scowled as she heard fragments of conversation involving chickens and eating monkeys, for a second her resolve weakened perhaps she had been mistaken and instead her counterparts were simply insane. "I would hate to have to force my powers upon you both." Her fury reawakened she made her presense known to the councillers assembled, not that she had made any real effort to cloak her powers from them from the start. She entered the room a furious look projected by her childish features, her eyes blazing. "It would not do you well to threaten any one of us Peacekeeper especially after your actions," she hissed, interupting whatever conversation that was happening before her arrival. "And I assure you If I were to sense your powers being used against myself or another in my presence nothing would hinder me from seperating your heart from your chest." Isadoras' furious look subsided as she nodded greetings to both Masaru and Shiina, she was curious as to why they were here but she gathered from what she had heard of the conversation as she approached that it was similiar to the reason she had desided to come. Perhaps she would find the two of them more useful and more appropriately outraged then Vasilious had been. "Despite your foolish idealism and Philosphies who are you to disrespect and violate the tradion, role and custom of The Vampire Council?" Isadora all but shouted at The Peacekeeper as she turned to face him again, she had spent the most of the 20th century secluded and had missed the era of the hippies, her understanding of their culture was limited as was the same with the American Indians she cared very little for the American continents. "For all your preaching about good will and respect you seem to have forgotten it when and were it is required most! How dare you wrisk all of our safety as you indulge your own arrogence and self importance!" Isadora pauced her attack ended for the moment as she awaited the response of the Peacekeeper or any commit from the others assembled she eyed them all, almost challenging them to disagree with her. A twisted smile played upon her lips as she waited almost expectantly for the Peacekeeprs reply, she had delt with his kind before and knew very well nothing she said would make a difference but the deeper he dug his hole in the face of witnesses the easier it would be to depose of this nuisance when the time came. |

Shiina | The Undead One
|
Nova amused Shiina. He was ignorant and delusional. Especially delusional. She was sure of it, since he didn't seem at all to amused by her chicken analogy or by the fact that she had Masaru fuming behind her. She couldn't exactly see Masaru at that moment. But she knew him. That last comment would have pissed him off and possibly putting him on the verge of lashing out and killing her with his bare hands. If only he could... If only... "I would hate to have to force my powers upon you both." Now, Nova said a lot of things. He did like to hear himself talk. But that sentence was the one that really got to her. Shiina wasn't one that was known for her great patience or forgiveness. She was a proud one that did not like to be insulted or threatened in such a condescending way. How dare that insignificant twerp so much as think about even trying to overpower her. Did he actually believe that he could use any of his pathetic powers on her? Why, she and Masaru could each kill him where he stood with a thought before he even processed the fact that he couldn't touch them. The nerve he had! Her rage showed in her expression which turned from a friendly smile to a murderous glare directed at the so called Peacekeeper. Her power gathered within her, ready to make him regret what he said. But before she could do anything, the door swung open and in stormed more trouble. Isadora, in all her glory and anger to rival Shiina's own barged in yelling at the Peacekeeper, voicing exactly what the rest of them were thinking. Well, sort of. When she was about half way through her speech, Shiina rolled her eyes, crossed her arms and although addressing The Kinslayer, spoke to nobody in particular. "Trust her to make a scene." She then looked at Isadora and spoke to her directly. "How nice of you to join the conversation Isadora. Are you done now?" |

The Sorrow Eater ~ Vampire Council Member
|
“If you end up using your powers, I doubt that any of us will be playing civil anymore.” Masaru stated simply, thinking of Shiina in particular. She was certainly psychotic, and he never seemed to have the patience for her, or Sage. There was just something...infuriating in the way that they acted. However for the sake of the council, and his own sanity, he simply put up with them both. He was amused by Nova’s point of view – it was certainly an original one, even if Nova had gone about the wrong way to try and push his views across to the council. It was not long afterwards that Isadora burst into the chambers, in a fit of rage which was most unusual. A raised eyebrow was all Masaru gave to Isadora’s initial ‘introduction’, which was certainly not fitting of a council member...at least, not in this situation. Perhaps at the next council meeting, it may have been more appropriate. That, and her metaphysical aura was spilling out over them all, and it was irritating to block it. “Calm yourself, Isadora. His actions do not warrant such a Neanderthal-like response.” Masaru’s reaction became amused as Shiina became enraged. So, the woman had a sore spot after all. She didn’t like being talked down to, nor did she liked being threatened under powers. That much was obvious by the expression on her face – Masaru nearly applauded Nova for revealing such a thing. He decided, then, that he liked the peacekeeper after all. At least, something that Shiina disliked. How...precious. Once everyone’s tempers had seemingly calmed down, Masaru finally greeted the Kinslayer – he finally had a good excuse to get away from Shiina, and so he did. He bowed deeply to her, knowing that she liked to think of herself as better than everyone else. He did not mind the small humiliation, as it came with great advantages. The more council members who he could ally himself with, the better. “It seems that everyone feels like making a scene over this small slight. However, I feel I am over it now. There are greater matters at hand, and perhaps Nova’s actions did some good for vampire kind.” He stated, his eyes neutral. |

NOva sighed deeply. An unnecessary thing for a vampire but an act he thought should adequately make his point of being completely over all the insults and threats. "I am not the one threatening to do harm here dear Kinslayer. I am the one threatening to keep us all safe and sane. It is you has jumped right into harming where my skill lays in calming those about to keep the peace. You have threatened bodily harm if I try and calm the council around me from doing something foolish." Nova tutted and shook his head. He could feel the power of of those assembled growing in their frustration. POwer and anger rolling to fill the sanctity of his room. With a thought he had his own power at the ready. Unlike any of the others whose power seemed to float with their anger Nova's power was that of calmness, of neutrality. No one would feel his power coming. How could one feel ... nothingness? But with a thought his vale of nulling could fall upon everyone in this room. He would like to see the kinslayer try to rip his heart out then. When she was unable to use her piddly powers to overpower him and his body. "I have risked no one's safety but my own and have disrespected the council in no way. I do take blame for not informing you all of my actions prior to doing it but I have in no way done anything to harm this council. I have not even mentioned it if you had seen the interview at all you would know that. If anything I have created a media storm for the government to actually keep their eyes away from finding any vampire council." Nova said his tone still even and patient. "I expected some words for not informing everyone but I also expected the wise council to see how this could benefit us not harm us." NOva said slightly upset to see his plan had not worked out at all according to plan. Nova actually gave a salute to Masaru as he too commented that it had been a small slight. "Thank you." He said simply his attention turning back to the two hot tempered women in his room. "What's done is done ladies. You may disagree with my methods but at least I am doing something to try and fight against this ridiculousness the humans want to do to us." Nova said his power at the ready. Waiting, he wasn't sure these two could see reason. Edited by Nova, Jan 4 2009, 07:25 AM.
