ABOUT YOU Approval: MoAD, GoAD (Double approval heck yeah >D) Name: Shelly Age: 30 YOUR CHARACTER Character Birth Name: Dorian Neville Trellicusian Character Current Name: Donovan Trendle But Prefers the Nickname: Nova Age: 506 Apparrent Age: 22 D.O.B.: Summer of 1502 Vampire, Were or Human?: Vampire Sexual Orientation and Status: Single and Omnisexual Vampire Only Master Vampire:Yes Sire: Nehënipapwis (Translation from Lenape to English: a person who goes around at night; especially in the dark hours of early morning. AKA Dark Walker) Animal to Call: The Wolf Powers: Nova has the standard vampiric powers of Strength, agility, enhanced senses etc. As a master vampire his ability to roll another with his gaze is near expert as well as his power to soothe or roll with his voice. Unique to Nova, something he has developed over the years and has found only unique to him is the power to null the powers of those around him. If within the immediate vicinity of him those with metaphysical powers will be unable to use them. A witch could not perform a spell, a lycan could not call to their group or force another to shift, a vampire could not perform there own unique powers, (those normal of a vampire, rolling, strength etc remains) It is only the powers that are not natural to the being that are nulled. If you are a vamp you basically have only what a newbie vamp can do, the same with lycans. Witch's and human who hold power will be rendered to mere humans if he nulls. The only exception to this rule is the Fae as they are naturally made of magic in general Nova's powers do not work upon them. In addition to being able to Null those in his immediate vicinty he can also Null from a distance those who have ingested some of his own blood. Blood Oathed To: No one Physical Appearance: Nova is tall and lanky and blonde. He is 6 ft 2 with piercing green eyes. His biggest facial feature is his nose of course but he's rather fond of it's unique hooked, broken look. His hair is blonde cut in a shaggy long look that hasn't changed in many decades. His stomach is flat and his hips narrows. His whole body is nearly a triangle from his broader shoulders to his narrow waist. More often then not Nova likes to show off these features, usually wearing shirts untucked and unbuttoned... or just open vests. Usually low rider jeans as well to show off the nice V cut in his abs. Nova is not vain persay but he likes to show off his body. Picture:   Name of person pictured above: Bryce Ryness Personality Description: Nova's personality has morphed over his years as a vampire. He can at times be much like a chameleon adapting to the changing times or the change in company. Overall he tends to fight for the weaker and likes to keep things on an even playing field. A product of his unlife, not his upbringing or mortal time. Nova has spent his time among a multitude of different cultures. But he now has the appearance of an easy going guy. He is the first to offer resolution not fighting, would rather talk it out then fight, would rather everyone just sit back and chill. But he tries to be fair and thinks that you are wasting breath and time with fighting. He is more of a thinker and a schemer in the sense that he will work a situation in the background to get the outcome he thinks most fair. While he outwardly appears to be all about having fun and making love not war he is constantly thinking of ways were they can live in a world where everyone can indeed do that. He wants to better things and will use what he has to try and make it so. Whether it's with his playboy charm or his behind the scene scheming. His family tried very hard to reach a status above themselves and ended up putting themselves into poverty instead. Forced at a young age to find work Dorian signed on as a deck hand and apprentice on a ship sailing for the New World. Everyone seemingly wanting to see what they could find in this new land. It was a hard journey. Between the crew getting lost at sea, many getting sick, a few dying, in fighting, returning home after getting lost, begging for more money for supplies and everything a journey that Dorian began at the age of 15 did not end until until he was near the age of 20. His years amongst his fellow sailors taught him many new things. LIke how to gut a man, how to bed a woman, how to pickpocket, how to steal from the barman, how to spit and basically how to be a proper dirty sailor. Nova's nose had been broken and never properly set during the trip while he learned how to fight, dirty. They were a rough crew that finally landed in the New World. A quarter of the ships crew dead from something or other (disintery, fight gone bad) the rest half starving as again the journey had taken longer then expected. They landed into nothingness. It seemed like there was no one nothing. Again they fought some wanting to go and explore others wanting to gather what they could for supplies and return home. The babies who wanted to immediatly return home were outvoted (or killed) and the group of raggedy sailors set about exploring the new world. They travelled for nearly a year learning that they were not alone in this New World. That savages inhabited the land. Soon it wasn't just infighting killing the dwindling crew but savages who hunted the men who took from their land without permission. Soon the fighting began again to return home this time more agreeing. And yet when they returned to where they had thought there ship was they found nothing. They searched for a year for their ship but found nothing. By the time Dorian was 22 the crew that had once numbered over 100 was now down to 15. They fought each other for every bit of food. They had basically become more savage then the ones they called savages. They didn't trust each other. And so it was one night when Nova didn't even trust them to sleep around. Having stayed up two days in fear for his life he needed sleep and so it was that he snuck off to find a cave he could hole up in and get some rest. Unfortunatly his crew was not what he had to worry about that night. A starving vampire had been hiding out in the cave. Trying to die. Ashamed of what he was and the years he spent destroying the natural way of things. Nehënipapwis named for what he was. Named for WHO he was was older then any of his people could remember and yet he still lived. Though he had left his people centuries ago ashamed of what he was. Withered to nearly nothing the vampiric instinct's kicked in as Dorian entered the cave Nehënipapwis had come to die in many years before. Nehënipapwis could not fight his insticts and the monster he was after years of denying himself. It was hard when food layed itself right before you. When he had fed from Dorian, (who had fought hard in his death throws pulling every dirty trick he could) he renewed his youth once more. Again he had changed nature and had been unable to stop himself from killing the blonde haired boy. He cried with his anguish for killing again. Unable to stop himself after denying himself for so long. Trying to correct the unbalance he had done Nehënipapwis split his own vein and tried to put back into the boy that which he had took, his lifesblood. To Nehënipapwis it was a miracle when the following night the boy rose, and the miracle turned to anger at himself once more as he saw the boy's thirst awake. Unable to kill the boy he had created Nehënipapwis instead taught the boy to feed the way he had taught himself. They took down sleeping buffalo that night and though they could not communicate Nehënipapwis understood that though Dorian's thirst was slaked he was not satisfied. The next night Nehënipapwis awoke to find the boy gone. Amazed Nehënipapwis could feel Dorian... and follow him to where he found the boy killing one of his crew members that had tried to kill him. Two body's already laying in heaps by the boy. Nehënipapwis could not stop him when he was in his bloodlust but when Dorian was done he prayed to his gods to show him the way to teach the blonde haired man that it was against nature to kill. That they could live without killing. If they could just fight their own basic needs. Nehënipapwis never let Dorian out of his sight for the next few decades. Together they learned , each other languages, each others likes as well as learned that they could survive on animal blood and fight their thirsts for human blood, especially when there were no humans around. Nehënipapwis taught Dorian the way of his people and respecting the land and replenishing what they took from it. Dorian struggled with these ideals as he had grown up believing he had to take what he needed and fight for what he wanted. A century passed and Nehënipapwis started rubbing off on Dorian. As more and more whites came and started trying to settle in the new land the unlikely pair watched as things were destroyed. Nehënipapwis watched his people fight for their land, their culture and their beliefs. And Dorian watched his people take what they needed and fight for what they wanted without a care to the people there before them or the land they stole from. Nehënipapwis took Dorian to his people. Dorian watched amazed as he was accepted as if known to this tribe though they had not been there before, not in their century together and Dorian new that they were not like Nehënipapwis they were human. And yet they knew his name and were unsurprised to see him. It took them a while for them to accept Dorian with his light hair and eyes but Nehënipapwis convinced them that he was not the white devil that had been raping and pillaging their land and people. Being amongst the humans proved hard at first for Dorian though he tried to stick to Nehënipapwis teachings going away from the camp to hunt. It was a shock on the third night at the camp, after sitting with the tribe elders as they discussed going to other tribes in the area to bond together, to try and form a committe to learn more about their intruders, that Dorian was truly surprised. The elders brought two women to their circle sending one to Nehënipapwis and one to Dorian himself. Then the elders left. Nehënipapwis warned Dorian not to kill the girl though they asked for the mark of the god Nehënipapwis the god of Darkness. Nehënipapwis taught Dorian that night how to feed without killing. The girls were thankful and considered blessed by the goods for as long as they bore the mark of Nehënipapwis. It was an eye opening night for Dorian. Years wore on again and Dorian started mingling more amongst those coming to settle in the new land. Testing to see if he could stay among them without killing. Unfortunatly Nehënipapwis could not join him on these outings but Dorian always returned to share his good news. It wasn't until the 1860s that Dorian and Darkwalker (the translated name Dorian had given Nehënipapwis) seperated. Dorian had come across another of their kind. Surprisingly having made her way across from Europe in the cargo of a ship. A female that had caught his eye and he did not wish to leave her and she did not wish to go into the wild with him and Darkwalker. Darkwalker could not join them hiding in the human world as it was the human 'white' world. He pushed Nova to experience no things but made plans to meet once a year to share with each other their new findings. Over the years Dorian discovered his innate ability to turn off the powers of others. Discovering that Starla (his female companion) had been using an unnatural lust to lure him to do what she wanted at times. As she was a descendant of Belle Morte's line. There relationship changed to love hate as Nova discovered this and discovered his powers. His yearly meetings with Darkwalker also helped him to develop those powers. During the next century Starla left him and came back fickle with their relationship. Dorian still met with Darkwalker every year and still practiced his teachings much to Starla's dismay. It was part of her problem with Dorian that he refused to finish a meal. Instead rolling them into not remembering what had happened. She argued that he would live an unsatisfied life. But much to her dismay Nova grew stronger with each advancing year. And grew further away from Starla. Soon he started spending more time with Darkwalker then a yearly visit. Soon they were travelling together once again. Nova's power and strength expanding as they entered the 1900s. His connection to the earth and nature even more saturated as he learned to call the wolf to him. His animal to call and truly one that connected with his spirit. More European vamps were making their way to the new world now and with it the rules of their council whom neither Darkwalker or Dorian had any knowledge of. Together they learned and adapted and claimed a territory as their own. To the council Dorian was the Master of the City of Raleigh. Darkwalker, a being that seemed to confuse them because of his orgin, was Dorian's appointed second. They ruled together though. Binding those vamps who came to them to follow their rules. No unneccessary kills. Replenish what you take. Give back. It was probably because of the teachings of these two that Vampires were eventually given legal citizen status. The pair travelling to congress to make their case. Dorian had become well known not only in the vampire world but in the human as world as well. During the 1960s he was a well spoken advocate against the war, his name (changed, shortened from Donovan which he had taken as his name in the 1950s, to Nova) was spoken along with many of the more figure heads of the time. Lenny Bruce, Martin Luther King his voice was heard long before Vampires were legal citizens. Things changed and even they, the vampires, had to change with them. When the name Nova was resurfaced as Congress was taking into consideration the legalization of vampires many stood up to listen to a name they had thought dead. Nova has made himself an almost figure head in the United States for Vampire equality as well as an example of how Vampires are not evil. It is on this leg that he finally stepped down from his Seat as Master of the City of Raleigh (voted safest place to live in the US for the last three years thank you) and gone to help the new council step into modern times. Especially with the way things seemed to be going in Europe, Nova believes he of all people would be one of the best dignitaries to ruling classes their to help promote Vampire and human relations and see if Europe as well as the Council can be brought into modern times.
