It'd been almost two months since Vale had set foot in the Ossuary, and much to her surprise, she'd actually missed the hole that had in recent months become her home. Being in Australia for so long had been.. irritating, to say the least. The sun set even later there then it did here, daylight savings being currently in effect, and although there were some nicer cities that she visited - about 90% of the country was nothing but desert land. She was glad to be finally back, just being Paris once more was a relief. She couldn't even put into words how grateful she was for the lack of flies here, having been bothered by the tiny creatures throughout her entire stay 'down under'. She hadn't been back long, but already she was on her way toward the Necropolis where she hoped Masaru was currently working or attending to some other task needing completion. She'd considered paying Viv a visit before seeing any vampires, but yet again surprising herself, Vale hadn't actually cheated on her 'partner' that much whilst overseas. She hadn't exactly been celibate.. but she hadn't been sleeping with everyone that offered, either. So as one could imagine she had certain expectations for when she came back, despite not actually giving a date for her arrival to Masaru. She'd told him it'd be two months at the most that she'd be gone, and she'd kept her word. Now it was his turn. He'd said he'd miss her when she was leaving.. and now it was time to prove it. .. Or, it would have been time, had she not gotten distracted by some voices not too far up ahead. Hearing voices was nothing unusual in the Ossuary, but when both the voices seemed vaguely familiar and were yelling, then she couldn't help but get curious. Veering to the left in order to investigate, Vale soon identified the sources of the yelling as Masaru and Sage. What could possibly so important as for them to both be shouting about? As she rounded a corner she was greeted with.. a less then pleasant sight. Not that the both the men weren't pleasant sights in themselves, but the expressions on their faces and just the general air in the room was.. a little bit less then comfortable. Without waiting for them to continue their argument? she announced her presence in the room. "What is going on here?" |

All he wanted was a moments respite, perhaps some decent conversation that would bring some closure. Sage had been doing his best to remain civil in the company of this obscene excuse for a council member but whenever this depressive little asshole brought his cross dressing entourage with him, it just set him off as they'd inevitably try to encourage their 'master' to go above and beyond his normal idiocy, especially for one whose tuned into being a whiny depressive midget from some back water clan in Japan. Twenty minutes had passed since his little emotionally dejected posse had left as they now stood alone in the hallway, mostly standing in silence as the metaphysical game of domination began to play itself out. Cold eyes watching each other for the others next move and it was then that he would break the silence. "You sure you want to go down this path?" He'd question him with a near apathetic smile, wondering where this would lead. It'd been awhile since he'd had a decent fight, a pity it'd be had with the most feminine on the current council. Sage's smile would fade from his smile into a smirk as he'd hear Vale's voice. "Oh look, a witness." |

"I'm not choosing any path right now." Masaru stated, though he already knew that they did not get along. At all. And it seemed that since Sage had taken a council seat, Masaru's dislike of Sage had dramatically increased. Masaru didn't even have a reason, he just plain didn't like the guy. There was just something off about him, but Masaru just couldn't place his finger on it. And since Sage didn't seem to listen, let alone obey to anything Masaru had to say/command anymore, Masaru had choosen to plain avoid the guy when possible. He just couldn't find anything remotely nice to say to the guy. Unfortunately, on this occasion, they had run into each other. Or rather, Masaru had needed to ask Sage a question regarding council business. Their conversation had started off civil enough, and somehow they had entered a heated argument about...well, nothing important. Still, Masaru was in a sour mood and was no longer in the mood for putting up with Sage. "Oh look, a witness." Masaru sensed her before he saw her, and he turned his head around to see Vale. He gave her a small smile - he had not seen her in two months, and though he had missed her, he was not about to reveal his feelings for her in front of Sage. "What is going on here?" "Nothing that concerns you. How was your trip?" |

"Oh look, a witness." The comment certainly put her on edge. Vale only raised a brow in Sage's direction, looking between the two. They were in an argument- again. No doubt because of some careless comment on Sage's behalf. He always had some kind of insult about her master, be it about the way he acted, his appearance, the way he controlled those beneath him or simply his emotionally based powers, there was always something. Masaru's response to her seemed rather bland at first, before she realized he currently believed Sage didn't know much about the two of them being together. Of course she'd confided in the other vampire on several occasions about hers and Masaru's relationship.. but Masaru didn't really need to know that. Especially not whilst the two seemed about ready to attack one another. "It was fine. " In all honesty she believed it did concern her. And if it didn't, it did now, because she was curious. That and their arguments might lead to certain things being mentioned that she'd rather not.. so it helped to have her supervise, so to speak. Instead of simply walking away and going to her room, like she probably should have, Vale made herself comfortable and ready to spectate. It probably would have been smarter to walk away, but well, it was entertainment. And entertainment this soon after getting back home was just too good to pass up. |

Sage would close his eyes for the briefest moment, concentrating and doing what he could to quell the urge to leap forward and rend that wretched head from its owners shoulders. An all to human reaction left him as his chest rose and fell to release a breath that his lungs never truly needed, the sound came forth as a slow death rattle as Cerulean eyes watched their intended target with a passive aggressiveness that begged for a far better physical altercation then a simple stare down. "Oh I believe it could very well concern Vale." Sage would say as pale lips curled into a signature smile that meant something else was about to be said, but as the silence set in he'd give a knowing nod to Vale. Who knew what he truly meant by that gesture, but if their past engagement was to be brought up at an inopportune time who knew what Masaru would do. . . "Though I do hope your vacation was enjoyable and seriously, for someone that you care for. You certainly don't treat her like someone whose important to you." He'd begin to lay it onto him, prying some weakness from the subtle facade of his easily readable features. "Like the time when you placed her in a box because she was being herself, what the hell was that about?" Actions such as that often traveled around quickly and while Sage had his moments on characteristic anarchy that resulted in the deaths and maimings of untold dozens he'd never stoop so low as to put someone in a coffin for months on end. "That's a great way to show your concern and dedication to someone Masaru." Sage would raise his voice into a high falsetto, a sarcastic mockery of Masaru's voice. "Hi Vale, I've missed you, lets hug, now get in the fuckin' box until you're as emotionally damaged like me, but don't you worry I'll sit right on top of you and read you bedtime stories. . ." A slow calculated and clearly amused grin would begin to appear. |

"Watch your tongue." Masaru said coldly at Sage, unimpressed by Sage's amusement. "How, and what I do with those oathed to me is none of your concern." His facial expression and body language were carefully blank, which perhaps revealed more than it should have. Masaru was not about to stoop to Sage's petty level, but was pissed off. He half wasn't sure if Sage was bluffing about knowing, or if he was serious. Masaru assumed the latter - Sage liked to get a rise out of him. "And I do not believe that you know anything about the matters of concern or dedication, Sage." He brushed a strand of hair out of his eyes. "Last time I checked, you were killing those you were 'concerned' about." He smirked, remembering one of the many times Sage had been covered in the blood after a massacre. Masaru's eyes flickered to where Vale stood, and he sighed, shaking his head. "You should know better than to try and anger me, Sage. We are council, we cannot fight under vampire laws, especially in these times. But if you wish to continue this conversation, we can do so when my associate is not here." He gestured loosely to Vale. |

For such old vampires, they were acting pretty damn immaturely. Or at least, Sage was. Vale struggled to resist the urge to glare at his words, to say something in return, but.. it'd give her away. She doubted that hearing about how Sage had raped her would get a very positive reaction out of Masaru, especially with so much tension in the air. If she'd been in a fight with him at the time, she was sure the impression of Masaru would have seemed pretty accurate, but at the moment all it was, was a petty rouse to anger her master. And it was working. Masaru's reply sounded like he was beginning to get very irritated - teeth grittingly irritated. She couldn't entirely blame him, but then again, just by being there he was encouraging the argument/disagreement/dispute.. whatever you wanted to call it. "But if you wish to continue this conversation, we can do so when my associate is not here." ... Associate? That was all the recognition she got - being an associate of his? Head snapping in his direction, Vale narrowed her gaze, visibly showing her annoyance. What was the point of all the pretense? It wasn't as if Sage hadn't expressed his knowledge of their relationship already.. Whilst in Australia Vale had barely bothered to block Masaru from entering her mind, but now her metaphysical shields were up and at full strength. He was not allowed to know what she was thinking right now - he wasn't allowed to even get close. Associate. Please. Maybe watching this fight wasn't in her best interests. If things continued to elevate she might be forced to leave.. if for no other reason, then to just escape the crossfire. |

Sage couldn't deny a thing when Masaru noted his rather eccentric and sadistic spree which often resulted in the maiming and potential deaths of those who were close to him, though such things were quite common considering his heritage and upbringing. Life was cheap back then and over the years such thoughts have evolved to remain within acceptable means for this society, but it didn't mean he wouldn't indulge the side of him that reveled in perpetual strife, pain and death. Yet as it stood Sage noted that he had gotten through to him, his blank stare and calm features a clear indication to the turmoil that dwelled within Masaru. He had to stiffle back a laugh when he flippantly gestured to Vale and called her his 'associate' , yeah he knew someone who wasn't going to get anything tonight. "Associate? Oh real nice Masaru, thats a guaranteed way to scorn her." Sage would make a polite nod in her direction, a mischievous smile edging the line of his lips before fading away to muted amusement. "Though as for us being council, such formalities will have to be observed. . ." Voice trailing as a certain discernible condescending tone would filter through, "Even if such things are a regrettable." A charming smile would engulf him then as he diverted his attentions from the lonesome and rather depressive Masaru to Vale, a woman whose tastes for mayhem mimicked his to a certain extent. Though while she played upon emotions, he simply went about maiming people for the sheer joy of it. "Vale, a pleasure to see that you've returned from your trip, hopefully it was comfortable and I must apologize for this peculiar encounter and for that I'd like to extend to you a brief visit to my quarters." He'd fight the urge to look over to Masaru, to watch his reaction before he continued. "Perhaps catch up on a few things." |

Masaru felt the coldness from Vale – she had shut down their connection, and he wasn’t happy about it. He met her gaze, the edges anger on his face. She was not allowed to block him out, however he didn’t want to reveal her disobedience in front of Sage. His eyes narrowed as Sage spoke, and the desire to punch him in the face increased. It was apparent that Sage knew more about Vale than Masaru did, and it infuriated him. Even more infuriating was the fact that Sage seemed to know about the both of them – and Masaru knew that he had not said anything to anyone aside from Haruhisa. He turned his head to Vale, and there was nothing nice in his gaze. "Vale, a pleasure to see that you've returned from your trip, hopefully it was comfortable and I must apologize for this peculiar encounter and for that I'd like to extend to you a brief visit to my quarters...Perhaps catch up on a few things" Sage was looking at him, that infuriating smirk on his face. What was that supposed to mean? Had Vale been with Sage? Masaru would like to think otherwise, though he knew that she was certainly not monogamous, and had never truly been so despite his wishes. But being with Sage was almost an insult to him. In fact, Vale should have known better. Much better. As for Sage...Sage was dangerously close to having his genitals ripped out. As Masaru’s anger raised, the power emanating from his body began to increase. Instead of assuming things, he decided to be blunt. “Vale, have you slept with Sage?” He asked the question with clenched teeth, and it almost came out as a hiss. His eyes narrowed at Sage – Masaru knew that Sage said such things to piss him off. However, if this was true...then there would be dire consequences. He clenched his fist threateningly, though he knew he couldn’t physically punch Sage without breaking council conduct codes. Vale on the other hand, was oathed to him. And if she had disobeyed him to such a degree...there would be dire consequences. |

Sage actually understood her, more then could be said for Masaru. He knew that Vale wasn't going to change or suddenly become monogamous just for her master, or anybody else for that matter, and that she actually enjoyed taking part in violent and cruel acts. She couldn't be 'fixed' by being thrown into a box for a week, a month or even a year. The chaotic impulse would always be there, whether Masaru liked it or not. Sage noticed her anger, as she'd half expected that he would, and simply had to comment on it. Anything to patronize Masaru, who looked ready to kill. She managed a polite smile as Sage extended his offer, though knew that it was more to spite Masaru than anything.. What might master dearest do if she agreed? Attack her- attack Sage? With their forces combined he wouldn't exactly be able to do much. So enrapt within her thoughts, Masaru's question had caught Vale off guard. Eyes widening a fraction, she looked back to him and thought for a brief moment. The silence wasn't amazingly suspicious - if she had or hadn't slept with him (which she had.. sort of) not replying would have made sense, given the situation. After several moments, she finally gave a response. "No, I have not slept with Sage, Masaru. I'm extremely flattered that you'd even think to ask." If Sage said anything right now, she was going to rip out his genitals. It'd taken her a brief moment to think of a way to get out of replying to Masaru, and now that she finally had, she did not want him fucking things up by contradicting her. Because she hadn't lied. They hadn't ever 'slept' together-- it was rape. Just because she'd thanked him for it afterward, that didn't change the fact that it was un-consensual sex. |

Sage fought back the urge to laugh, not even a smirk would spread upon his lips as he watched Masaru's anger come forth. The barest hint showing upon his features and yet he knew it was there. "My my. . ." He'd say softly, the urge to say more tingled upon his tongue but he had to play the rest of this encounter right. While perceived fighting between council members was mandated taboo by their laws, it didn't mean they couldn't drive the others to the brink of madness and mayhem. Those of which naturally drove him forward and fed his preternatural thirst. "It may be time for me to take my leave and situate some other council business." He'd say slowly, thinking it through as a part of him wanted to watch the unfolding drama between the two of them. Though he'd figure Vale would eventually take the upper hand and walk away. |

OCC: Since I won't be able to post for a while, we can make it that Masaru kicks Vale out, or Vale storms out if you want to continue the plotting without my interference. XD From the way they were acting, Masaru was more inclined to believe that the two were hiding something from him, and that infuriated him more. What had been going on behind his back? He glared at them both, before shaking his head. Vale's silence made him wonder what she was hiding - Masaru knew that Sage's reaction was going to be one to provoke him, regardless of whether he gave an actual answer or one created to annoy Masaru. Sage didn't boast, however the smirk on his face made it seem like Sage had won an unspoken battle. "If you're going to leave, then leave. I have personal matters to deal with, and you certainly do not need to be present." His eyes fell angrily on Vale, and there was no doubt in his mind that he would be interrogating her that night. |
