HUMANS
Animators:
- An animator is better known as a 'zombie raiser' - they have the ability to raise the dead.
- Animators need to raise the dead frequently to avoid raising the dead unknowingly.
- A ritual of some sort is needed to perform a zombie raising. In most cases, this includes a blood sacrifice & death of some sort.
- The longer someone is dead, the more it takes to resurrect them - For the average animator, a 400 year old corpse would require a human sacrifice so that it could be raised. Alternatively, if the animator is powerful, they might not need a big sacrifice.
- Most animators can sense the nearby dead, but CANNOT tell if someone is dying, unless its painfully obvious.
- For most animators, it is easier to raise the dead at night.
Necromancers:
- Necromancers are able to control all the dead - including vampires. This is often why vampires kill them on sight.
- Currently, Necromancers and animators are 'in the good' with churches (etc) because it is believe that they got rid of the vampire council.
- Necromancers are rare -
There is currently one spot available. There are NO spots left available.
Human Servants:
- Master vampires are able to create human servants.
- When a vampire and human servant are close to each other, their abilities are increased - their powers are stronger.
- It takes four marks to turn a human into a permanent human servant.
The Marks: - First mark: the vampire shares energy with the servant. The first mark grants the human servant greater resistance to injury and to vampire mental powers, and an almost complete immunity to their own vampire's mental powers.
- Second mark: Anita experiences this mark as a pair of floating points of flame in the color of the vampire's eyes that merged with her own. The second mark allows the vampire to draw power from the human servant, to experience food and drink consumed by the servant, and to enter the servant's dreams.
- Third mark: The third mark is made by the vampire drinking the servant's blood. It conveys increased healing, immunity to poison, and allows the vampire and servant to communicate mentally even when awake.
- Fourth mark: The fourth mark is made when the servant drinks the vampire's blood. It conveys immortality (from age) to the servant, almost complete mental communication, and allows the servant to draw on the vampire's strength.
- Most or all master vampires appear to be able to create a "human servant."
- A vampire can only have one human servant at one time, and cannot remove a mark once given - though death will seperate the two, if they survive.
- All vampires have almost complete control over their human servants - each vampire has a different way of ensuring that their servant obeys them. The methods go from mind control, to physical abuse, to blackmail, to love (etc)
- The death of either the servant or the vampire may injure or kill the other member of the relationship.
Witches:
- Witches (or Warlocks) are humans with magical talents.
- Most of the time, their magics are pre-prepared through rituals and then cast at a later time.
- Witches have the same rights as vampires - commit a crime and death is the punishment.
- A familiar (an object of some sort) increases their powers when they are near.
- Powerful witches can curse others.
- If you are going to be a witch, you are expected to research upon your witches abilities and state them in your profile.
Psychics, Clairvoyants and Other
- Psychics are humans who have 'psychic' powers, Clairvoyants are people who experience 'visions' on touch. The powers in question are up to you - they are undefined.
Vampire Executioners:
- Licensed executioners are authorized to kill vampires with a warrant.
- Due to the overwhelming levels of illegal vampire activity, we will allow 5 executioners on the board at this time.
- There is currently ONE position for executioners left.
Parisian Preternatural Investigative Taskforce:
- Supernatual crimes in Paris fall under the jurisdiction of the Parisian Preternatural Investigative Taskforce (PPIT)
- PPIT is a new branch of police work to Paris, spawned from the idea of the American equivalent - RPIT.
- Dangerous and low status work, and the division is therefore staffed largely with police officers who have offended their superiors.
- Formerly called FSSU, it has been restructured by the appearance of Stanley Allisar who has taken over as Commandant.
- Lycanthropes have recently begun to be allowed into a ranking position and not just a consultant. Prejudices still exist among disgruntled employees
Humans Against Vampires:
- Several anti-vampire groups have appeared since the laws went into place ten years ago. The first was Humans Against Vampires, which aims to restrict vampire rights by legal means. They often have peaceful protests, hand out flyers (etc). They are not a violent or illegal-doing group...at least not in most cases.
Humans First:
- Like humans against vampires - but considerably 'active'. They take the law into their own hands, trying to get rid of vampires in any way possible. Only problem is, they aren't equipped for the job.
