It was only her second week as a waitress at the Coffee Prince, and already Evie was beginning to feel the strain. Although there was no doubt in her mind that given a little time to adjust, she'd be able to find that balance between being Daniel's soul provider for food and water and a casual waitress relatively easily.. at the moment, she was having quite a bit of trouble coping. Not to even mention the times when Adrian got bored and decided to call her for amusement, or whatever reason he did have to ever bother her. It was a strenuous lifestyle to be leading, for just one young girl to cope with all alone, especially after running away from all that she'd ever known. And in the past two days, the fact that she was under so much pressure was actually beginning to leak just that little bit into her work. Yesterday she'd dropped a total of two glasses, shattering one, while the other fortunately landed on a nearby customer's lap and didn't get a scratch. The customer, however, was a different story... she'd been given a warning by her trainee, Carly, but given how nice the woman was (and how the customer just so happened to have been an asshole, making it all the easier to convince dearest Carly that it hadn't been Evelyn's fault), she'd managed to just let her get off with a warning. Everybody made mistakes on their first couple of weeks, after all, and given that it was her first job ever.. Evie thought she was actually doing quite well. Today had been going relatively well; it was nearing the end of her shift, and the swan had to run to make it to the Ossuary in time before Adrian would be awake. She hadn't brought enough food with her when she'd gone this morning, so it was necessary to make two trips today.. or else Danny would be left to starve. At least for a night - but even a night could make a difference when you were being held captive God only knew where. So, it was natural to assume that the girl was trying to hurry up what little work she had left to do around the cafe before she could run out. It was also natural to assume, that since she was trying to hurry so much, that particular mistakes would be made.. and that she might not pay as much attention to her surroundings as she would otherwise. She'd closed her eyes for less then a second. A second. It didn't even make sense, how an object could suddenly appear out of thin air like that. One moment there was nothing, and the next, it was there! Evelyn didn't even know what it was that caused her to trip. She'd been walking, taking off her gloves just for the briefest of moments to give her skin a bit of air, when all of a sudden, WHAM. Her instant reaction when she'd stumbled had been to reach out.. to try and latch onto the nearest thing to regain her balance, and steady herself. That 'nearest thing', just so happened to be Keiji's wrist. She hadn't realised he was so close (was she completely oblivious to everything around her today?), but the moment their skin came into contact, she definitely knew. She suddenly knew a whole lot more then she needed, or ever wanted to know about Keiji, about Kaede, about their home, their sex lives and every little conture of one another's bodies. She knew more then enough. "Oh.. my.. gosh.." She actually had to stop herself from saying 'god'. It wasn't even so much religious beliefs that stopped her from doing so, more simple morals then anything else. "You..." Staring at Keiji with wide eyes and a face that must've resembled a tomato by now, she suddenly spun on her heel and began walking in the opposite direction. It didn't even matter where, so long as it was far, far away from him. |

He had been pretty damn surprised when Evie had grabbed onto him, given that the girl had some sort of no-touchy-anything-ever policy going on. 'Course, it looked like she was about to face plant on the floor too, so he figured that there were exceptions for everything. His more immediate concern though, was the fact that her grabbing him had jolted his balance. Which sloshed the coffee he was holding in his other hand all over the floor. And his shirt. He just got that coffee too. Oh wait...fresh coffee. "Aaaaah, hot!" The empty hand was still held by Evie and he didn't really want to yank her around, so instead the coffee mug was sacrificed to the floor, freeing up a hand to pull the fabric away from his skin in a coffee soaked tent. "Aash..." Winter colored eyes looked at the caffeinated mess on the floor with heart broken longing. "Oh.. my.. gosh.." "Na, na, don't worry about it. Carly can get it and it's not like I really wanted it anyway. Too much. Well, I mean, yeah I wanted it. Wouldn'ta grabbed it if I didn't...but hey, kept you from kissing the floor, right?" "You..." Finally he looked away from his poor lost coffee to Evie, dark brows arching upwards in confusion. His confusion only grew when she turned sharply and started walking away. Checking himself, it didn't seem like there was anything that would have done that to her. Aside from the coffee covered shirt. Was there something in his hair? On his face? Absently fingers rubbed here she had grabbed him, trying to work out the tingly feeling that had come and gone even as he followed after the new waitress. "Evie?" |

She just couldn't wrap her head around it. Couldn't believe it at all - that two people, two brothers nevertheless, as different as Kaede and Keiji could have such an.. intimate, relationship. A shiver ran down her spine at the very thought. They were not only brothers, but lovers. How had that even happened? Honestly? Kaede was so.. cold; and Keiji wasn't. She understood that twins tended to share a particular connection that most other siblings didn't - this particular connection being a little different to most.. but she could never, ever imagine doing such things with her own brother. He was family. You did not kiss family in such ways, you did not love them in such ways. These were the values that had been programmed into her mind in her upbringing, and yet, even so.. the very thought of the two fae together.. Shaking her head, she continued to walk away from Keiji, picking up her pace. She had to be wrong. It didn't matter, that her 'abilities' had never failed her before - she had to be wrong just this once. She desperately hurried to cover her naked hands with gloves once more, knowing that she couldn't risk touching anything else. The usual images came and went as her skin came into contact with the cloth, but as she had with practice, she managed to push them to the back of her mind. She didn't care what the company that'd made the gloves looked like, or the inside of the box that they'd been packaged in.. at the moment, there were far more pressing issues going through her mind. "Evie?" "S-sorry for spilling coffee on you Keiji, really, but I gotta go do.. something.. over there.." She couldn't even look at him as she spoke. His very name brought her back to what she'd seen, the sweet caressing whisper that it was when breathed from Kaede's lips... dear god, what was wrong with her? She had to stop thinking about it; had to stop acting so amazingly suspicious. With every intention to apologize for suddenly running away, possibly with the excuse that she'd thought she left a kettle on... she turned around her heel, hands now full gloved. |

"S-sorry for spilling coffee on you Keiji, really, but I gotta go do.. something.. over there.." It didn't take a genius to figure out that something was a little off with the new waitress. Well alright, there was more than one off thing about her, but Keiji had tossed those things off as her just being...whoever she was. This though was a whole different animal all together. When she had grabbed onto him there had been a shift in her, a piece of herself shifting into a different spot. It happened all the time. People, humans especially, were always changing. That was something that had just turned into white noise for the fae, like humans not paying attention to planes passing over anymore. But this one, this 'click' had pushed against him as well. A larger change that had something to do with him, all because she almost fell? That was just friggin weird. Height made up for his delayed start, letting him catch up to her fairly quickly, though it did have the unforeseen side effect of walking him right into her when she turned around suddenly. Reflexively hands wrapped around her shoulders to keep her from falling, holding her upright and, he belatedly realized, against him. But at least she didn't hit the floor, right? He leaned back to peer down at her, wondering if maybe she had suddenly felt ill. It would explain her hasty retreat and the red flush. Osh, maybe she had to throw up. He really, really hoped she didn't throw up on him. Stormy eyes narrowed for a moment before he leaned in, temple resting against her forehead. "You feel warm." Pulling away, he crouched down until he was able to look her in the eye. "Are you sick? That...well, i mean...it would explain why you're all red. Not the falling thing though." |

What had she done, to anger Lady Luck in such a way? Apparently she'd been a very bad girl indeed, because the moment Evelyn turned around she came face to face with a big wide wall of chest. She went to step back, an automatic reaction to literally walking into someone, but his hands came upon her shoulders at lightning speed (at least this was what it felt like), preventing her from doing so. She was immediately thankful for the t-shirt that she'd chose to wear to work today, that it covered both her shoulders well enough so that their skin didn't make contact again. Naturally, Keiji took right care of that. The images were far more clear now, and she squeezed her eyes tightly shut, doing her best to push it all away. She didn't want to see any of it; she didn't want to know a single thing more about the twins' personal lives. That was what they should have stayed - personal. She didn't need to experience it all, as Keiji had - see it through his eyes. Hell, she'd never come close to experiencing anything like that herself. Sure, she'd seen it plenty of times.. but that just didn't even compare to the real thing. With Keiji so close and those particular memories and images being relived in her mind, she couldn't help but panic. Pushing away from him with more force then intended (but, in the greater scheme of things still not very forcefully), she backed away, already knowing that a headache was sure result from the situation. "Stop it!" Wiithout even realising what she was doing, she actually ordered him to stop. It took the swan a moment to realise exactly what she'd done, before she shook her head. "I'm sorry - yes, I'm sick, I have.. a headache... need to go throw up." What a godsend. Sickness, that excuse hadn't even crossed her poor troubled mind. "I'll get you a new shirt or something, okay?" Turning, she tried yet again to make an escape - this time setting a course for the ladies room. |

"Stop it!" Sighing heavily, stormy eyes were reluctantly pulled from the sea of text before him. He had made in an error in judgement believing he could tune out the ever increasing volume of noise around him. In fact, he spent a great deal of his time within the coffee house, snuffing out the chatter around him. Perhaps it was the urgency in her voice,(though unlikely) that made him close the book and slide of the balcony's edge. Or, perhaps it was simply that shrill edge to her voice(More than likely) that shredded his solitude. Either way, there was no hope to ignore it now, it needed to be dealt with; silenced. "Keiji, what are you doing?" It was not difficult to find them both, they were making enough noise for five men. He was simply there now in the hallway, cutting off her escape. If she bumped into him, unlike his brother, there would have been no such sentiment made to prevent her fall. Nor was there any to acknowledge her immediatly, he only had eyes for his brother. Fingers fell to the buttons of his shirt, undoing each one carefully. The very subtle sound of fabric against flesh followed, as he shrugged it off entirely, and offered it over to Keiji. There was no instruction given, or word spoken between the two, it was simply a silent suggestion in Keiji's best interest to take the clean shirt. The fact that he was now bare from the waist up did not go unnoticed by him, it was just not a main concern at the moment for him. "Could you not be so careless in the future?" He asked, though it came more like a command, turning his attention away from his brother to fix on Evelyn. Winter eyes only managed to glance over her briefly before his hands slid into the pockets of his leather pants, and he stepped to one side, and continued down the hallway, leaving them both there. |

He swayed back with her shove, moving more out of courtesy than any real force she was able to put out. And really, she was batting at him about as hard as a kitten. "Stop it!" The compulsion shot through him like an arrow, burying itself in his chest with more ease than it ever should have. His guard had been down for so long that there hadn't been anything in place to stop the compulsion. And so, for a moment, everything stopped. It was only half a second before his own inherent magic brushed hers aside, but it hadn't kept him from not breathing, or blinking. Sucking in a deep breath he released her, fingers rubbing over his heart as if he could massage away the feeling of it stopping against its will. "Keiji, what are you doing?" Wrenching his gaze away from the new waitress he straitened to face his brother, fingers still tracing over his own heart. The irony wasn't lost on him, though he resisted the urge to laugh at the symbolism that would be lost on everyone else. "She was-" "Could you not be so careless in the future?" Necessity and years of practice kept him from watching his brother remove his shirt with anything more than just detached interest. Guilt briefly flooded him as his attention shied away from the scar he was too familiar with, pulling the blue from his eyes until they seemed more thunderhead than summer storm. It was covered as he pulled his own shirt over his head, awkwardly trying to keep the wet swath from dragging across any more of his skin while trying to keep Kaede's shirt dry in his other hand. A shirt in each hand, he shook his head to move the hair that had scattered into his eyes before giving up and just trying to blow it back. Tossing the now coffee stained shirt over a nearby chair, there was a soft whisper as he pulled on the one that smelled heavily of blossoms. Instead of moving to button it he snaked a hand out to curl around Eveie's arm, taking her with him as he followed after his other half. "Kaede. Something happened." French was dropped in favor of his native tongue. He wasn't worried about Evie knowing what he was saying. But he wanted his brother to catch that he thought it was something important. |
