The sudden move to Paris had been more than just a little shock for the young woman who was used to her life in Istanbul. One day she was going to university and doing her normal thing – the next suddenly bags were packed and she was told that they were moving. Just like that. When questions came in to play about her courses and such, she’d found out that everything had already been transferred to Sorbonne in Paris, France – the city which was to be their new home. While the idea of living somewhere new was exciting, soon enough it had also become daunting to be in a place where Star had no clue where the right places to go were and where she didn’t have her old university friends to keep her company during the day. It seemed the cheetah didn’t have to say anything though, since within a couple of days of moving Marcus offered to take her for a tour around the city to check out the night spots and other attractions so that she could get her bearings and work out where she might like to spend time when she wanted to go out. Of course Star had been only thrilled to be taken out on the town by Marcus and had pounced him with hugs the moment he’d offered. Once having shown her appreciation, Star had wasted no time in getting ready, picking out a cute outfit to wear from her rather large wardrobe, before practically dragging Marcus out with her as they took off. Eventually, after seeing a couple of the night sights, they’d found themselves at Temptations, a rather high class casino from what she’d heard, which held a few hidden attractions. As they’d arrived they were about to walk in when Marcus had received a call that he needed to take, and so the cheetah had gone on ahead to have a look, knowing he’d catch her up once he was finished. To be honest, it was a little bit of a relief for a moment so that she could gather her thoughts while actually taking notice of something other than her vampire master. She enjoyed the times that she got to spend time with him by herself, but sometimes it was a little overwhelming and she had to remind herself that what she felt was likely one-sided. She wasn’t going to risk making things awkward by stepping out of place. So taking a breather to get her head together was appreciated until she asked for directions to a dance floor if there was one – wanting to see if there was a nightclub somewhere in the large building – and was directed to a door to a set of stairs that were almost hidden and led up to the next level. Certainly upon entering the room, the woman was a little surprised, but intrigued to find a burlesque parlour there. Not wanting to seem conspicuous (considering there were mostly men in there), plus also still intrigued by the current performer, Astara didn’t leave right away. Though a moment later, and she didn’t really have a choice but to stay as someone walked up to her and looked her over. ”Wow, I was told the new girl was cute, but you’re just... stunning. So you’ve done this before, right?” “I... uh...” Star stammered a moment before she blinked away the shock and then chuckled while shaking her head, a bright grin set on her features in amusement, “No, I don’t think I’m supposed to be here. I just... got um... lost.” A slight blush crept up her cheeks as she admitted that she really had no clue where she’d been going until she got there, though the other woman looked her up and down with an impressed expression, before raising an eyebrow in inquiry. “Are you sure? Damn...” The woman paused for a moment before tilting her head slightly and the younger one, “Are you looking for any part time work at all? Because you know they’re always looking for fresh faces here and you’re well, gorgeous. You have quite an... exotic look to you, from out of town, right?” Taken aback by the sudden offer, Star wasn’t sure what to say for the moment as the pink hue in her cheeks grew a little darker at the compliment, but she nodded as she was very subtly backed into a corner. |

"Give them time, Devrim." If there was one thing that Marcus had not anticipated in his decision to move to Paris was that he would be constantly bothered by the new Master of the City in Istanbul. Devrim had been selected among his Kiss to be his replacement and ensure the city, along with the vampires within it, be taken care of as they had been over the past one hundred years. But it seemed the change in power was not welcomed with open arms by the preternaturals who called Istanbul home. As a result, every night since their move Marcus had received multiple calls from Devrim with concerns over unrest and whispers of being over thrown. It was times like these that Marcus wondered if he had made a correct choice -- not realizing the other man needed to be coddled like an infant. While it would have been better to have left Aisha in charge as the new Mistress of the City, he knew that she would have never agreed. Of course, Marcus also did not want to part with his one and only childe. Refraining from a sign, instead clenching his jaw, Marcus listened to the newest list of worries before he finally cleared his throat to put a stop to the constant flow of words, "Devrim. Remember what I've said before, now I'm hanging up." With that the conversation was thankfully cut off and the phone placed back in his pocket, this time on silent. This venture out was meant to be fun and a way for Astara to get to know Paris better. Speaking of which... Marcus' dark gaze moved about the immediate vicinity but was unable to see the young cheetah anywhere. Apparently she had slipped off from him from the time he had taken the phone call. While he was not overly concerned, he was still not sure of what to expect in their new surroundings. Especially with such a rare creature as a werecheetah. "Hey! Did you hear about the Burlesque Parlor here? There are some really hot chicks! I just came from there and there's this smoking babe that walked in with this black number on, had all kinds of buttons on it but whatever! C'mon! I think she's going to perform next!" The vampire turned to nearly glare at the young man that was talking excitedly with his friends. His brow furrowed a fraction at the description of the young woman, the dress sounding very familiar to the one that Star was wearing tonight. Normally he would have been more than happy to show any young man that talked about Astara so rudely the error of his ways, Marcus was more concerned about the young girl being in a Burlesque show. Straightening the jacket he wore, the vampire loosened the hold on his power to let a minute amount of it flow out while he began to move through the crowd outside and into Temptations. There was a fine mixture of creatures within though his senses were tuned into those of the bestial persuasion. While they interested him, he was focused on another. “Are you sure? Damn... Are you looking for any part time work at all? Because you know they’re always looking for fresh faces here and you’re well, gorgeous. You have quite an... exotic look to you, from out of town, right?” "She is. And she is not looking for work here." Marcus' deep voice rumbled from behind the woman who had managed to back Star into a corner. With power reigned in once more, he regarded the human with a raised brow and a none too amused look on his face. Already he held a small distaste in humans, he did not need one badgering his Astara and not for a job that she did not need to be doing. He extended a hand past the woman to Star for her to take, "If you will excuse us." |

Everyone seemed to have something new to do, when they arrived in Paris. Astara would go to a new school, Sabra would find new stores to shop at, and Marcus would settle into a new position. For her own part, nothing had changed other than the landscape. There was no new position, school, or shop that interested her, and so almost as soon as they had arrived, she began doing what she did best. Looking out for Marcus and his interests. This evening, she was playing the part of the shadow. Allowing Marcus and Astara the freedom to explore the city, while some distance away, Aisha could observe. A thousand or so years together would not fool Marcus, surely he knew she was around, watching. However, she had done it for Astara, letting her believe they were alone the entire night. She would have even done the same for Sabra, she easily understood that desire. However, it was not strong enough to persuade her to actually let them roam the city alone, fuck no. Everything had been going fine, until they stepped inside Temptations. "Hey! Did you hear about the Burlesque Parlor here? There are some really hot chicks! I just came from there and there's this smoking babe that walked in with this black number on, had all kinds of buttons on it but whatever! C'mon! I think she's going to perform next!" Aisha had waited until Marcus was out of sight before her hand came to land on the first male's shoulder and began to slowly squeeze until he squirmed and opened his mouth to cry out in pain. Her other hand was suddenly there, palm pressed against his lips to muffle any sound as she pushed his head back into the nearest wall. Letting go of his shoulder, her hand fell back to her side, holding him in place by his head long enough to smile before, yanking him close by the front of his shirt. "Show me where one might find these 'hot chicks'" Pushing him away, she watched him drag his feet a few steps, glancing back at her before turning completely around to lead her. Who said humans couldn't be taught? Reaching the right level, she had sent him running back to his friend. The entire thing disgusted her. As if someone of Astara's character even looked like she would entertain the idea of working in such a place. It was better for Marcus to handle it, play the good cop and take Astara away, so that she could enjoy the rest of her evening. There was nowhere to hide here, and while they turned to leave, she simply stood there, looking past them to the meat sack that had made the mistake to approach Astara. If Marcus got to play good cop tonight, she was going to get her fun in playing the bad cop(Not that she ever played good cop), She would wait until they were gone before making her approach. -- All she had wanted to do was talk with the stranger, to get her point across. Shit happened, and sometimes bitches got their fingers broke in doors because they were not careful walking out of the bathroom. She felt better, and didn't even have to kill anyone yet. She would have to call Devrim soon, as it was his fault entirely that this event even occured and he would be made accountable. First though, she needed to find Marcus and Astara again. |

To be honest the werecheetah wasn’t sure whether she should have been flattered that someone thought she was ‘gorgeous’ enough to be able to match the current performer, or whether she should be worried about the way the men in the room watched the show. Whilst there was a part of her that longed to be treated like a grown woman rather than the child she sometimes felt people thought she was, she didn’t think she would feel comfortable with other men gawking at her like that. Of course, if that kind of thing would get the right attention from... "She is. And she is not looking for work here." As though answering her thoughts, the subject of her current musings appeared behind the other woman, who spun around and almost backed into Star when she saw the unimpressed look on Marcus’ features. A glance up and down at him followed by another look toward Star and it seemed the woman had come to a conclusion and nodded, ”Ahh, you must be her...” she cut off and glance around before shrugging, ”Fair enough, though you could get a bit of money by expanding on her talent.” With that, the woman moved to leave as Marcus held his hand out for the cheetah and Star latched on to it quickly, slightly confused as to what the woman thought he was to her. Pulling herself up close beside Marcus, she held onto his arm as she glanced warily at the retreating woman, “What did she mean, ‘expanding on my talent’?” The young woman sighed, though she felt more relaxed now that Marcus was there and she was quite comfortable to be pressed close to his side in public. “This place is nice, but I think I could use a drink.” Though, suddenly her nostrils flared as she picked up another familiar scent and her gaze scanned the room quickly before she thought she saw a flash of a familiar face before it disappeared into a small crowd. Perhaps Star shouldn’t have been surprised that Aisha might be there – the woman obviously immensely devoted to Marcus – and while she was always happy to see her, a part of the cheetah was now a little depressed because it meant she didn’t really have Marcus to herself for the night. Of course, she also had a small worry for the woman who’d cornered her just before. Rather then thinking about it though, she tugged Marcus lightly toward the bar. At least the entertainment was good, she could appreciate a good performer, “Can we sit down for a little bit before moving on?” |

”Ahh, you must be her...” A brow was raised as the woman began to comment on who she thought Marcus was. Thankfully she stopped short before she finished whatever it was she was going to say. No doubt the vampire would not be at all pleased, ”Fair enough, though you could get a bit of money by expanding on her talent.” Instead of humoring the woman or bothering to explain that he had more money that she could imagine, Marcus' eyes only followed her as she departed. The presence of another had also caught his attention since entering Temptations. Marcus could sense that the one and only creature he had ever sired was not far behind. Though he made no indication that he knew or not, Marcus was more amused that Aisha felt the need to shadow him. While at the same time it came as no surprise. After a thousand years together naturally they were close and the Amazon woman that had taken his attention was still as strong-willed and wild as the night he had turned her. Incredibly devoted and protective, it really was no shock that she was following him to ensure that he and Astara had a good time exploring Paris. “What did she mean, ‘expanding on my talent’?” Marcus turned his attention to the werecheetah pressed close to his side while he wrapped an arm over her shoulders to keep her close, "Nothing that you really need to concern yourself with. Just a silly woman's ramblings." While some could say that the vampire coddled Astara like a child, he only wanted to have what was best for her. His eyes darted toward the stage to see the scantily dressed woman flaunting themselves for gawking men. Marcus knew well of those types of men, after all the vampire enjoyed a naked woman just as any other would. But Star was intelligent and bright. She did not need to resort to dancing to be successful. “Can we sit down for a little bit before moving on?” Marcus had heard her request for a drink and pulled his attention back toward Star as she tugged at him to follow her to the bar. With a smile he nodded, "Of course." Still staying close, he moved forward enough to pull out a stool for her at the bar before he took a seat next to her. A gesture to the bartender to get his attention, the vampire looked to Star, "What will you be having?" Once the drink was ordered and he waved off the bartender's question of what he would be having, Marcus returned his attention to Star, "So, what do you think of Paris so far? I know the move was sudden..." |

Aisha did not have to look long or particularly hard to find them again. Having found themselves a spot at the bar, they appeared just another couple hugging the watering trough. As normal as beautiful people normally did in a sea of ordinary. Slipping back through the crowd, it wasn't long before she had completely closed the distance between them. Stepping up to the bar, her muscular frame slid easily between the barstool Marcus was sitting on and one currently occupied by a man. Like a feline, her head butted against the familiar shoulder of Marcus, rubbing the side of her face against the back of his neck. Fighting the urge to send her tongue along that familiar flesh, she turned around to press her back against the bar. Long legs crossed at her ankles, as elbows rested on the bar's top. Pools of heated copper fixed on the 'show', she was probably the only one that didn't understand the attraction. The man on her other side, turned on his stool to smile at her, which she ignored. When it was obvious his occasional smiles were not enough to make her respond, he leaned in a little closer, and opened his mouth. Before he was even able to say anything, she quickly shot him down with a, "No." She hadn't even spared him a look, still watching the stage since she arrived at the bar. "Let me buy you a drink. Hey, that's one hell of an outfit. I'm.." "No." She offered flatly, her gaze swung around to the stranger's direction, glancing down at the hand he was offering. Slowly her eyes drifted to his face, fixing him with a stare. When he dropped his hand, and turned back around to nurse his bruised ego over his drink, she pushed herself away from the bar. Taking one of Marcus' hands in both of hers, she lifted it to her face, and rubbed her cheek against his bigger knuckles, lips brushing against them gently. "Forgive me Marcus, for appearing." she spoke softly, letting go of his hand. While she offered her apology to Marcus, it was just as much for Astara as it was for her Sire. |

A comfortable warmth spread through Star when Marcus wrapped his arm around her, as she fought down the heated flush that threatened. As long as she could act like everything was the same as it had ever been then she didn’t have to worry about being cast out. Along with the feeling of comfort at being so close, her aura began to vibrate just softly around her subconsciously almost in a purr – a natural reaction to any time she felt content and unthreatened. While it was obvious she was still being sheltered in part, the cheetah didn’t mind for those extra moments where she was able to be close to her master on her own. The young woman nodded when he said it wasn’t anything she had to worry about – she had some idea what the woman had possibly been talking about and decided she’d not push the subject. Instead, they made their way toward the bar where Star smiled brightly as Marcus pulled a stool out for her to sit on carefully (making sure her dress didn’t lift any further than it already was when she sat). As Marcus sat beside her, she continued to press just lightly against him, the contact keeping her soothed for the moment. “Uhm, I think I will have a Midouri with pineapple juice,” A sweet drink, but one that she liked nonetheless. Star had heard of Full Moon, but not particularly wanted to taste it – especially considering she didn’t even handle the taste of scotch or whiskey very well. Once the waiter turned away to get her drink the cheetah’s attention returned straight to the vampire accompanying her. "So, what do you think of Paris so far? I know the move was sudden..." “It is alright... new. The University is huge,” Star smiled brightly as she spoke – she honestly hadn’t minded the move so much except she didn’t have all her friend around anymore. At the same time, she was hoping for a few changes now they were in a whole different setting. It was perhaps a fooling hope, but one that she didn’t mind having. “There are so many things to see, but I am sure after a few weeks or so I’ll have probably done it all...” Star trailed off as she caught the scent of Aisha before she approached and moved to the other side of Marcus. The expression on the cheetah’s features didn’t change in the slightest, she was always happy to see the other woman even if she’d been hoping to have Marcus to herself that night. Though, a feeling of self-doubt and depreciation seeded its way through the younger woman as she watched the Amazon greet their master before asking his forgiveness. Many things about the two women who also had Marcus’ time and had been around a lot longer than her made the cheetah feel inferior in the past few years or so since she’d developed into a young woman, and she simply supposed it just meant it was because she was. But that was all pushed back as she flashed the familiar warm loving smile toward Aisha, “Good evening Aisha. If I’d know you were around I would have said to simply join us.” It was the truth, Star was really just too warm hearted to ever really be selfish, “Have you enjoyed the sights as well?” |

A smile formed upon Marcus' lips at the knowledge that Astara felt comfortable. While she might be the only werecheetah that he had ever encountered in all of his years, the Beastmaster had picked up on her mannerisms. Most specifically the tendency that her aura had to vibrate when she felt at peace and was content. His own power sensitive to the subtle changes in Astara and just like the purring of a normal house cat soothed its owner, Star's had the same affect on him. “It is alright... new. The University is huge." Marcus nodded while giving the cheetah his undivided attention. It had been unfortunate that since the move they had not had a chance to really sit down and talk. That was also another reason for the venture out to explore Paris. The vampire was curious to know what she thought of her new surroundings and to make sure that she was not upset by the change. Marcus would have had to have been dense or fresh from the coffin to not consider the fact that Star had left behind her friends. “There are so many things to see, but I am sure after a few weeks or so I’ll have probably done it all...” "You'll have plenty of time to discover it all. But I want to make sure you are happy." He said simply while placing a handle gently on her knee, "I would have given more time to let you know about the move... but even I was not sure when we were leaving. I had to wait for when the time was right." The ascension to Council was tricky to say the least and he had to bide his time until just the right moment -- even if that meant uprooting those closest to him. Aisha's presence lingered in the back of his mind until he felt the woman bump her head against him in a near animalistic greeting while also rubbing the side of her face along his bare neck. His eyes cut to the side, as if to look back to her, "Hello Aisha." The hand lingered on Star's knee a moment longer before it was withdrawn back to his lap. A hint of amusement lingered on his lips when Aisha had to fend off another man's advances. Marcus did not bother to go to great lengths to defend Aisha from other men. The Amazon could do that all on her own. Not to mention Marcus always held a hidden amusement at watching the woman make weak men turn to mush... figuratively or literally. "Forgive me Marcus, for appearing." "It's alright, Aisha. Star and I were enjoying some of the sights of Paris. Though you could have joined us sooner instead of clinging to shadows." Despite verbally proving that she had been 'caught,' there was still a bemused tone to his voice. When the bartender returned with Star's drink, Marcus diverted his attention from the two ladies on either side of him to pay for the drink before looking back to them, "So is there anything in particular that you ladies would like to do tonight? In addition to exploring, of course." A sideways glance was cast in either direction, a brow slightly raised. |

She crossed her arms over her chest, when finally withdrawing from Marcus enough to stand near them. Naturally imposing already, she easily radiated the guard dog vibe. Her head turned to the stare off in another direction, the perpetual sentinel. There was nothing that escaped her notice, even the subtle movement of Marcus' hand moving from the knee of Astara back to his own lap. It did not matter if she disliked it, it was not her place to demand or expect anything from Marcus. “Good evening Aisha. If I’d known you were around I would have said to simply join us. Have you enjoyed the sights as well?” Aisha continued to eye the crowd for a time before her eyes drifted to Astara. "I did not want you to know I was around Astara. It defeats the purpose of my being out, if I were to join you. I am here to watch over Marcus and yourself, not the sights." Her attention fixed on a couple walking near, before returning to Astara again and continued,"Beside that little one, what I really want to see, can only be seen during the day. They don't keep the Musée de l'Armée open in the evening. Imagine all those weapons..." Of course, the entire museum was dedicated to the French Army, it went without saying really that Aisha wanted to see it. She also wanted to take a 'ride' on one of the larger cannons said to be displayed there, but those were the sort of details she could spare Astara from. "It's alright, Aisha. Star and I were enjoying some of the sights of Paris. Though you could have joined us sooner instead of clinging to shadows. So is there anything in particular that you ladies would like to do tonight? In addition to exploring, of course." It was far from 'alright' in her eyes, but Marcus probably knew how she felt already, there seemed no reason to waste words. There was always a smile that seemed reserved for Marcus alone (and the occasional machine gun). It was what she was wearing now, though her eyes never met him, still keeping a careful watch on the crowd. "As much as I would enjoy that, it's not my evening. I will return to the shadows as you like to call them." Leaning forward, her lips brushed against Marcus' cheek, before fingers stroked the side of Astara's face, lovingly. |

"You'll have plenty of time to discover it all. But I want to make sure you are happy." A small thrill ran from Star’s leg and up her spine to her heart which she was certain had skipped a beat when Marcus placed a hand on her knee, but she didn’t react. Touch was natural between them after all, though it was usually more like cuddling or wrapping an arm around her, "I would have given more time to let you know about the move... but even I was not sure when we were leaving. I had to wait for when the time was right." Star nodded with her unwavering smile and shrugged lightly, “Trust me, I only would have been unhappy if I had been left behind rather than brought here as well,” It was the truth and she knew that as much as she missed her friends, she would rather stay near Marcus and Aisha and even Sabra. Though it was mostly the loss of her master whom she never wanted to leave that would have left the biggest gap inside her. Though, a part of her was still confused about why she was whisked away with them all. She was not Marcus childe and second in command like Aisha, nor was she his Animal Servant like Sabra. Star was... well, Star. She didn’t contribute to his powerbase (at least not that she could see), and she wasn’t even a pomme de sang – no one had ever been allowed to feed from her in fact. The cheetah was unaware that she’d lost herself in her musings; the smile having dulled into an almost contemplative pout and she was about to open her mouth to ask the question that lingered on her mind but Aisha had begun speaking and then Marcus as he removed his hand from Star’s knee. Clamping her mouth shut, her features returned to their natural sunny look as she considered what the woman had mentioned she’d wanted to see. The cheetah memorised it and decided that tomorrow she would go and see this Museum while the vampires were retired for the day and make sure to take lots of photos and video footage – as well as however many souvenirs she could probably carry. It wouldn’t be the same as Aisha being there, but the young woman thought it might cheer her up just a little at least. "As much as I would enjoy that, it's not my evening. I will return to the shadows as you like to call them." The cheetah felt a little guilty, though she picked up her drink to have a sip before she spoke again, “’Returning to the shadows’ sounds so cold. I honestly do not mind whether you wish to join us or not, but do not feel like you must watch from a distance,” Even the notion of them all being in the same place brought her thoughts to Sabra and she hoped the tiger wasn’t feeling lonely wherever she was at the moment. Star might have strong feelings for Marcus, but she would never dream of taking from the other two women what time they wanted with him. The cheetah smiled with a small sigh as Aisha stroked her cheek, before raising an eyebrow, “Are you sure?” She glanced at Marcus as she considered what else she might like to do, “Perhaps see some more of the sights, or even just go for a walk. Though I may have another drink first. This place is nice – despite people who think I work here.” She chuckled lightly before taking another sip of her drink. |

In silence Marcus regarded the women on either side of him with a small knowing smile on his face. The vampire was mildly amused by Aisha when she admitted her desire to see the Musée de l'Armée despite the fact that it was closed at dusk. Her love of weapons and that underlying fighting spirit always served to remind Marcus why he had turned her -- despite the risk to himself in order to do so. In the end he had earned a childe, a second-in-command and a companion. Even if their relationship was not exactly defineable. "As much as I would enjoy that, it's not my evening. I will return to the shadows as you like to call them." The vampire regarded the other even as she leaned in to him, his own head tilting slightly to return the same gesture though not as openly. Marcus preferred to respect Astara's presence instead of returning the chaste kiss or even taking it a step further toward the primal nature of the Beast Master bloodline. However, before he could comment Star beat him to the punch by stating that she did not mind if Aisha stayed with them or not. It was true after all and while Marcus could sense her lurking from afar earlier, he would have preferred she either join them or simply go off and explore the city on her own. In fact, he stated such when Astara fell silent for the moment. "Yes, Aisha. You are free to join us. But if you prefer not, then perhaps you should explore the city?" He inclined his head a little, a hint of a sly look appearing on his face that was directed to her, "This city is filled with interesting 'game' after all. Much more populated than Istanbul." Even within Temptations he could sense the lycanthropes around them, particularly the ones that performed on stage. The vampire would have taken more note of them and even watched their skilled performances if not for the fact that he was already preoccupied with two lovely ladies. "Perhaps see some more of the sights, or even just go for a walk. Though I may have another drink first. This place is nice – despite people who think I work here.” With a nod, it was the only gesture he needed to let her know that they would do exactly that, "A walk would be perfect. Perhaps you could tell me more of your studies at Sorbonne." Of course he was genuinely curious of her work and her progress toward earning a degree, "And don't worry... no one will be making that mistake again." His eyes flickered to Aisha, knowing that she had done more than just lurking. |

"Yes, Aisha. You are free to join us. But if you prefer not, then perhaps you should explore the city? This city is filled with interesting 'game' after all. Much more populated than Istanbul." There wasn't anything as of yet that had interested her within the city's limits. Not surprising, there was rarely anything outside of Marcus that had been able to keep her interest in the many years of her unlife. Granted, they had a special relationship, she had only ever had two servants, and had denied them the benefits of living longer. It might be time again to look for something that would serve her better than those in the past had.
