Thank you's were not said among the fey. Especially to one as old and as respected as Lir. Still Arden was trying to use the excuse of 'appreciation for his help' to seek him out away from the club. Perhaps it was partly some sick perversion of hers to get closer to the man who was so famed for his chastity as one of the Queen's Ravens and also the tales of the loss of his true love and wife. Arden had a thing for pain it was true. Sometimes that pain didn't have to be physical. Still the man Lir had intervened on her behalf when a young upstart thought he could get handsy with her. Ardie knew his type. Knew he was all about the power play and trying to act like big man showing off in front of his boys. She could have handled him with no problems. Her years in her chosen profession had taught her how to handle all different kinds of men. Except one kind. The kind of man she assumed this Lir to be. And t hat was what made him all the more intriguing. She had weaseled his whereabouts out of some of the other staff and heresay from Temptations and now found herself outside a warehouse like structure. The man built boats in his spare time?! Seriously what else would she expect from a former water god. She made her way to the small door that stood to the side of the larger garage like doors. Raising the edible arrangement up in her arms she wrapped gently upon the door and waited. |

There was precious little left in this world that could cause Lir to forget, if even for a moment before the guilt of it forgetting crashed in on him and made it worse, the ocean and his crafting was one of such. The smell of freshly cut timber was everywhere in the small rented warehouse that he had set up shop. Eschewing the common implements that many crafters of this time turned to there was something simple and vastly rewarding about crafting it all by hand, each stroke of the saw was unique and needed his careful attention. Each brush of sand paper was an expression of the wood and the spirit of the boat itself that was slowly starting to take form with each brace of the skeleton that he reformed into place. There would be no magic or fey glamour used on this boat it would be too easy for that and it would lose everything in the process. No it would all be done by hand in ancient teachings with practical current knowledge thrown in to make a wonderful vessel that perhaps one day he could take on the open ocean himself. Maybe. His bare torso with all but the simple leather baldric and scabbard for his sword, something that never was out of his hands reach should his other skills be required at a moment’s notice, glistened softly in the electric lights of the rented space. Even though his work consumed him into a Zen like quality with each step he was not without common practices that have kept him, and his charges, alive all these years he felt the soft curtain of power slowly push at the boundaries of the property. The subtle defenses that were in place would go largely unnoticed thought to be just a simple threshold of the property but for Lir it was an early warning. Adjusting the strap of his sword to be securely on him he started to walk towards the door before he even heard the gentle knock on it. They were alone, whoever they were so it would most likely not be a threat and the way he kept to himself while his shift at the club’s bouncer, largely ignoring all of the proposition by men, women, and fey alike that would distract him from his charge of keeping the establishment safe, meant that this was most likely not a social call. Lir did not have many friends. Opening the door with his left hand so that his right would be free to draw the weapon if he required he looked at the petite blue haired beauty bearing some sort of wonderful smelling edible items, it was at that moment that the former god realized that he had not eaten since the end of his shift when he started on his boat fourteen hours ago. He recognized the women as well as the baked goods and nodded at her, it was one of the other workers that he pulled off some young hotshot breaking the rules of the establishment, such things would not happen on his watch and the boy was promptly escorted out without a single word from him. It was his duty to do such; it went beyond a simple job. “Arden.” Both her name and a greeting, if he had been a normal man his voice would have cracked for not being used for almost twenty four hours but he was not a normal man, he was a sidhe warrior and the standards always had to be upheld. A quick scan with his eyes behind her to make sure that all was well he stepped back from the door so that she could come completely in. “I was not expecting any visitors to my workshop, so you will have to excuse the mess but you are welcome here.” |

"Ahhh you do speak. I was beginning to wonder." Arden chirped cheerily as she entered after his invitation. She only walked a few feet in before turning back towards him. Shirtless and yet still armed he was quite a site. Yummy might be one word. She held out her offering towards him. "These are for you. Welcome to Temptations." She stated as she held out the arrangement of edible goods. One hand balanced the arrangement as the other lifted to wave away his apologies for the state of his warehouse. "It's a warehouse. I didn't expect it to be spic and span." She glanced over her shoulder to see the lumber and various shapes working together. "I see you are quite busy and I do apologize for interrupting you but since we never really did get a proper introduction at work I thought I would take the time to do so myself. It is always nice to get to know the ones who look after your back." Arden smiled. Without saying thank you directly she had, in a manner, just done that. "Now please take this before I eat any more of the ones with chocolate in them." Arden giggled. So long away from home she was more human mannered then Sidhe. She was in fact even now trying to remember everything she should or shouldn't say. "So what exactly are you working on here?" She asked as well. |

It was odd; to say the least, of having a social visit from anyone let alone a woman. Many in the sithen had grown tired of the games of trying to tempt him into giving up his sell imposed chastity and just avoided him. It was even more odd to actually be speaking to anyone that seemed to not even have an ulterior motive. Perhaps his time within the lands of farie had taken a large tole then the Sidhe Lord was willing to admit, always questioning the thoughts and motives in case they were trying to find a way to his charge but this one came to him for no other reason than to deliver some wonderful confections. Picking up the offered arrangement with his left hand still leaving his right free to draw his weapon he gave her a slight smile and a nod. “Yes. Lir. Speak Gud.” His voice was low, caveman like as he punctuated each word with a pause. “It appears to be such a lively place I am just content to keep those on the floor safe from any and everything. It is the least I can do” Lir was unaware just how much the others knew of why he was there so the amount of information that would be forthcoming would have to be small in order to not lie. He could play the word games with the best of them but found that simple truth or just silence worked better in the long run. “You are not interrupting me in the slightest; I was just working on my boat. I know what you’re thinking, Paris is not the best place to build a boat and expect to either use it or sell it but it passes the time and is something that I enjoy.” He offered a slight shrug all ready used to having to defend his hobby and passion to others. “You are quite right; we have not had a proper introduction. It seems with everything going on inside and out of the faculty that I have been remiss in my pleasantries. Everyone just calls me Lir, though I have heard whispers of my time around anyway so it must have gotten back to you.” “Its only in the beginning stages but you can all ready see the beginning of the frame starting to form it has been too long since I applied myself to such a craft and remembering has been interesting.” He gestured to both the skeleton and the plans that he had drawn on a near by desk, “If you want as form of my own penance I can give you a tour and split half of the chocolate with you, it would be the least I can do” |

Her voice was melodic as she laughed at his caveman speak. For being a Sidhe Lord she knew his speech would be most dignified. And she loved the fact that he could joke so easily with her. She hoped it meant he wouldn't be so uptight around her. A part of her hoped it meant that her disgrace and ousting from her house either had not reached his ears or had not even registered on her radar. Many a man as noble as he wouldn't even give her the time of day. That was part of the reason she was here at all. Wondering if his noble saving of her persons was merely out of habit. Or if there was a chance for friendship here. Of course she knew Abby and Viv but she worked for them so it was hard to breach that into friendship. For all the 'relations' Arden had a friend was one she couldn't often keep. Many none fey would look down upon her occupation and though Arden had no shame of it they could not pretend enough for Arden not to see their disdain of it. Arden was not completely privy to why Lir was here. She found it odd that he was, unimaginable that it was that he would be ousted from the sithen, or come out on his own. But she would not pry of it. Not yet. "It is quite a lively place. Things do happen from time to time. I am sure you will do well in upholding the rules." Ardie complemented. Arden smiled as he stated that she was not interrupting. If he said it then it must be true. "A boat?" Arden questioned turning to take in the peices once more she could finally see the shape of the frame and picture what the boat would be. She whistled appreciativly. "I wasn't thinking that at all. Just that it was impressive and a very unique hobby." Arden said turning back to him as he began the introduction. "Lir it is a pleasure to meet you. I am known here as Arden or to a special few who call me Ardie." She smirked liking the slightly masculine sound of her nickname. Just for the dicotomy of it against her person. "Yes things do travel around at Temptations. But nothing that is too secret." Ardie smiled. Arden turned back t o look at the peices of boat as he began speeking of them again. Arden went up to on of the peices, she reached out to rub a hand over it only to pull it back as she picked up a splinter on the still unsanded wood. She hissed as she brought her palm to her mouth and began sucking on the splinter to pull it out. She snorted as Lir offered to show her around and split her gift to him in penance. "CHivalrous aren't you? There is nothing to give penance for. You are the one who came to my aid and I came her to return the favor. Would you put us out of balance again? A tour I would appreciate but the foods are yours. I've consumed far to many of them myself anyway. I have to keep my girlish figure for my job." Arden laughed running her hands down her ultra thin frame in an almost seductive manner. |

It seemed it would be a night of odd sensations. Too long had the old Ocean Lord gone without hearing the soft peals of laughter from a female let alone one that was directed at him. Though the truth be told it had been some time since he had even made a joke as well. It would seem that the time away from the Sithen and spent searching the world had been good for him in the slightest. While many fey would have balked or been outraged to be forced out and sent on what many would feel to be an impossible task knowing the wayward princess turned out to be a blessing. The queen always did work in a mysterious way was all of this planned out? He shook his head almost imperceptibly as he shook the thought and feeling away. “Yes, I have noticed it at least on the floor that I am in charge on when I am there nothing happens that the owners would not wish to.” It had become a source of quiet pride that the more notable trouble makers on the floor would abruptly stop if they even caught a glimpse of him. Some had even gotten to the point where they would not even attempt it if they heard of the security manager being anywhere near the facility, all in all it was a very good thing. Lir just nodded at her comments about his hobby, he supposed it actually had become a hobby of sorts. He still remembered the first time that he had shown the men and women of ancient Ireland just how to construct one so that they could traverse the waters unafraid. It was a simple and pleasant time, one that ended far too quickly. As the memory threatened to over take him and turning that small smile that had crept into his face into a neutral stoic one as his eyes gave away the pain that was contained in the memory. Once beautiful rings of blue and grey became fierce darkened storms but only for a moment. Pain was something Lir was used to and he could withstand much. “If holding one to their word and honor is chivalrous, then perhaps it is not dead as everyone would like to believe.” As they started to walk and she commented about her figure he did what was required and let his eyes follow her hands. It would have been an insult to not do so as she was trying to show it off and he could at least look appreciative of it. When she received a splinter from the wood after looking concernedly at her hand to make sure that there was no permanent damage he glanced over at the bowed wooden plank. There was still much sanding to be done. “Do be careful Arden, I have not finished sanding the majority fo the splints it is a rather large task since I wish to do it all by hand. It helps understand the very spirit of the boat and the more work a craftsmen puts into it the more the Name of the vessel begins to form. Many of the boat makers of the present have lost such a connection, it is a shame.” |

For a moment Arden could see the pain that crossed over his eyes. As one quite adept in experiencing and acknowledging pain she had seen and felt all kinds. She recognized the pain in his eyes. Something long gone and yet deeply missed. She remembered the stories of the man before her and had an inkling of what that brief moment of pain had been about. But she tried in earnest to not show she had noticed at all. It was not a pain she thought she could help relieve him of. At least not truly. She was a substitute of pain for many. They could transfer their own pain to her in different ways but she knew, instinctively that that release may not be something that would help Lir. "It may not be dead but it certainly has one foot in the grave." Arden commented in a joking manner as she followed him about. She smiled and gave a small nod of appreciation as he stared to admire her form. Ever the gentleman he was though she blushed that it seemed as though she had been fishing for acknowledgement from him. So much time in the human world she forgets much of how things were in the sithen. She chuckled at Lir's belated warning about the unsanded wood. "I believe I have learned my lesson in the best way." She ascertained pulling her hand back after he had checked it over and sucking on the wound a little more to help staunch the bleeding. "The name of the vessel hmm?" Arden pondered. "Yes I imagine in this 'modern' world many boats start as a tree at one end of the machinery and 20 minutes later it spits out a boat with no human ever having touched it." Arden agreed. "So you let the wood and the building shape and name the vessel. Most intringuing. To be able to mold and shape something so completely." Arden said with a complete tone of awe in her voice. She was the clay never the sculptor. She was what others wanted her to be. She didn't hate what she was but it was always interesting to learn from people who were the potters... not the pottery. |

It was easy to tell the fey that had been too long in the presence of human’s except for some of the oldest ones. Their habits were easy to pick up all ready Lir could feel some of them pressing in on him but he had spent too many years amongst his people to let the simple habits break so easily. There was a brief flicker of realization across of Arden and some of his inner pain must have shown on his face for her to react so. None the less, as was proper, they both ignored it unless Lir decided to bring it up and speak of it. “Tis a shame that many of my gender have forgotten or have chosen to forget the basics of how to treat a lady properly. It is a sad state of affairs but I will endeavor to bring the near dead art of chivalry and gentleman conduct back into this realm of the living and become breathing once. You will notice, Arden, that some of the repeat offenders have been treating all of the ladies there with higher amounts of respect, it is making a comeback after all.” When she gave a slight chuckle he just smiled a bit with a shrug, “So it would seem, experience is the best teacher after all. It is not just a name, it’s a Name.” the emphasis of the capital was apparent in his voice, “Yes the Name of the boat and the spirit of it, so to speak, come out the more you work with it and commune with material. If thought is power, and power is magic the more you think and put into the effort of the building the stronger the boat’s spirit becomes and the more it can assert its name in subtle whispers. By the time I am finished I should have a name for her maiden voyage.” He let his gaze slip over the boat, “that will be in some time though at the rate I am going.” He gave a very slight chuckle. “If you are interested in learning I can show you how to shape it, the majority of building a boat is the manual labor you have to put into it.” |

Arden smiled up at Lir as he spoke of how his influence was generating through the club. Leaving men acting a little better. “Best becareful your chivalrousness does not go to deep within some of those men. I would loose a good deal of business for the club if suddenly some of my regulars decided that it wasn’t chivalrous to continue seeing me.” Arden spoke. She was serious in what she said but there was a tone of playfulness. If anything Lir’s influence made the men all the more eager to release their darker sides within the playrooms. Arden’s view of herself and the need of respect from men was also skewed but that hadn’t been the human’s that had done that but her own family. When they had kicked her out for being ‘weak’ she had believed what they had said and saw herself as nothing more then a toy or instrument. “Ohhhh.” Arden crooned as Lir went on to define the ‘Name’ of the boat. He was so passionate about it and explaining it to her Arden was easily mesmerized and taken in by that passion. Even though it was for building and creating it was passion none the less and something Arden could understand. She smiled as he joked about his progress on the boat. “Time does seem slower outside of the Sithen. Within the sithen walls we seemed to have forever to complete something and it was done in no time. Out here… you could have a goal and see those around you grow old and die before you complete it. So very different…” Arden commented almost nostalgically. “I do enjoy learning no things. It’s very important to have a plethora of knowledge, or at least understanding at your fingertips. So If you are willing to teach I am willing to learn.” Arden agreed with a smile holding her hands out to her sides as if to show she would need guidance for everything as she didn’t even know where to begin. Boat building was honestly not something she thought she would ever learn. But when a client was into something she would study up on it and would be able to talk to them about it if need be. This was no different. Yes Lir wasn’t a client… but it would be nice to know something about one of his passions. “Where do we start?” Arden asked. |

It was easy to pretend that he had no knowledge of what happened on the other floors, so easy that it had become almost second nature all ready. “I do not think that my minor lessons will alter your consorts activities Arden, if anything they will only be more respectful of you should you choose to spend time with them.” Even if she was a bit playful in speaking it there was the kernel of something more to her words perhaps it was a fear but he did not dwell on such thoughts long, it was highly improper to try and dissect another Sidhe on first meetings. Though as their conversation progressed, he could see just how enraptured she was of the concept of the boat itself. Lir had always been one to create with his hands while he could do much with Magic in terms of water and ice there was something very satisfying with creating something permanent with ones own hands and hard work. “Aye, the Sithen, it can be strange when it wishes too.” It was all he said not wanting to remember the ones that had came and gone from either bloodshed or old age. Friends, family, children either put to the blade of the sword or the blade of time it did not truly matter as all eventually turned to dust, but not the fey. They were as eternal as they wished to be. When she spoke of wanting to learn and the enjoyment of such he offered her a smile. “Very well the first thing is sanding the support beams to provide not only the proper strength but smoothness so that it becomes easier to work with. If you look at some of the ones all ready done not even silk would catch on it. That is the goal, to accomplish such we just need to sand it down.” He walked over the workbench and picked up one of the sanding blocks. “First, you need to get a feel of the wood.” He gestured for her to come closer into the circle of his arms so he can demonstrate with her hands on the block. When she was close he whispered softly into her ear, “Now, close your eyes and when you are ready start to move your hand apply just as much force as you feel is necessary, let the wood speak to you with each stroke.” He let her stay there for just a bit then he started to move applying constant pressure to her hand and moving the sandpaper in nice slow strokes over the curved frame. |

Admittedly Arden believed she would have little use for knowledge in building a boat outside of conversing and having something to talk to Lir about. But that was enough motivation for her to want to learn. There was something about Lir himself that was very compelling. Yes he was a fine peice of Sidhe lord. He was powerful and attractive. But that wasn't the only pull Lir had on Arden. Friendship... friendship was something perhaps they both needed, if Arden was reading him right. And friends could have benefits... if they were both agreeable. Arden's eyebrow cocked upwards as Lir guesstured for her to come within the confines of his arms. Perhaps those benefits might start early?! Quickly Ardie stepped within the circle of Lir's strong arms. Arden was tall by human standards, average by sidhe ones but Lir was large enough to encapsulate her within her arms. And that was a feeling that stirred Arden. Sure she had been bound and trapped by many of her clients but there was something inherintly different about being within Lir's arms. When he whipsered into her ear she closed her eyes obediantly feeling his hands close over hers upon the smaller sanding block upon the wooden beam before them. Instinctivly Arden leaned back to mold her body against his. Feeling the muscles of his arms cord against her own arms. The scent of the ocean seeming to cling to his skin as if he had just stepped out of it. She breathed deep as she felt his muscles tighten just before he began moving their arms to sand the peice of wood beneath them. There was something supremely sensual about the movements and Arden was quickly lost within that notion. Focusing not on the wood or the feel of it but on the presence and power of the man that surrounded her working t he wood. Holding her there and working it with her/ for her. Arden's heart raced slightly her mouth opening into a small O as she took deeper breaths. Her body moved with his but also moved to be against his. To feel the friction of his body against hers. "Now this is certainly a different kind of stroking then I'm used to." Arden teased, her eyes still closed. |

It was easier to show someone a trade skill by directly influencing their movements and actions instead of just letting them witness how it is done. People, human and sidhe alike learn better with doing then just seeing or hearing and that is what Lir was doing with the other fey. She quickly, a bit too fast if the Sidhe Lord had stopped to think about obliged his request and brought herself within his arms. His eyes were focused solely on the boat and the sanding block as he started to show her how much pressure to use letting his hand guide hers gently. When she pushed back against his body he could only pause in the lesson. Immediately the curves of her body practically molded to his became apparent, the scent of leather and something more filled his nostrils and he could only close his eyes. It had been so long since he was even touched by another female since his self proclaimed vow that his body tried to overwhelm his mind with the desire and need for the flesh but he was ready for it. Guilt and pain soon followed in the tracks of desire even as a more earthy scent under the leather surfaced true scent of the small woman that he had willingly invited into the circle of his arms. He could feel her breathing change from the contact as his desire screamed against the guilt and the pain of the memories, eventually the fight was too much and he took a minor step back removing the line of their bodies before she could grind against his for too much. “Yes, you will find that each type of wood has a different grain to it a different personality. Even within the tree families the personality can change slightly” he walked over to grab himself a sanding block and continued to work on another of the beams leaving her to her own and letting the desire and the guilt subside. |

The passion he had for the boats was undeniable. But when she felt him step away from her she knew that passion was not transferable. Not to the more carnal needs it seemed. She had thought for a moment perhaps all those tales and gossip she had heard about him so many years ago were untrue. Or that with his escape from the sithen his self imposed vow had been forgotten. It seemed her assumptions had been wrong. Though their paths had never crossed in her hand ful of decades in the sithen it was well known who he was. And as Arden had fallen from favor and become something less more and more had talked openly about her as if she were a servant. So she had heard much and her memory was long. She was further surprised as he moved further away from her all together. She stood straighter grasping the sanding block to her chest as she turned to watch him walk to another beam. He went on to speak of woods personality and trees and Ardie was no longer listening. She was suddenly worried about Lir. If all that talk was true he had had no release in centuries. She turned looking at the beams to be sanded. She hardly considered this formidable release for the pleasures of the flesh. Especially between one of your own kind. Years of servicing humans had left a need in her as well. A need for sidhe flesh... more specifically ... male sidhe. Determined Ardie set the sanding block down upon the beam and strode over to where Lir had taken himself. "I know it is not because you do not find me attractive. You would not have let your eyes lingered upon my form if you did not think it attractive. That would have been to close to a lie. So then it must be this... this rumor I remember of you... that you would never take another lover after you lost your wife." Arden spoke candidly. He could tell her to stop talking at any point. "Do you not think you have suffered long enough for your sins?" Arden asked. Being what and who she was she could not fathom going so long without the touch of another. But in that same guise... because of what and who she was she thought she was incapable of true love. So she perhaps didn't understand what it felt like to loose such a thing. |

The talk of trees and wood was a distraction to himself more than anything. It helped the Storm Lord to arrange his thoughts again by using his craft to give him some breathing space that the younger sidhe sought to overwhelm by desire, accidently or intentional he did not know just yet. If she had purposefully attempted to cloud his judgment even for a moment then she would be dealt with swiftly but if it was accidently then it was another story. It was the one thing that could be thought of as a weakness for the older fey, his long standing vow of imposed chastity meant that his own bodied fought against him when the proposition was there. Still his mind was the master of his body and not the other way around he would not be brought down so easily and would need to redouble his efforts to make sure it stayed that way when he was alone once more. When she spoke to him, so candidly and without any form of tact he was almost affronted by it. Then she brought up his late wife and the muscles from his shoulder down to his hands all tensed and became ready to move at a moment’s notice. This child, for in his eyes at this moment, that was what she was; was attempting to lecture him about sin and the joys of the flesh. “My Sins? Do you know anything, child, about my sins? I have walked this earth before you were even a thought or an action with on your mother and father’s eyes. Do not think to lecture me about my sins for they are mine to hold and my burden not yours. If you came here expecting to have someone to give a pity fuck to then just leave. I do not want any part of it.” He turned away from her and started sanding the boat once more he was off balance now and even though he did not yell at her or even give into anger it still had an effect on his center. |

Adept in reading body language over the years. KNowing a persons intent before they spoke or move she watched his muscles tense with her words. Saw the pain their and she in turn felt like a fool for being so brash towards him. But this suffering was something she did not, or could not understand. But it had never been her intent to hurt him. It hadn't been her intent to come here and seduce him either. Not her main intent no, maybe somewhere in the back of her mind she had been thinking about her attraction to him but she hadn't come here with intent to seduce. Arden's hands flew up in a sign of I'm sorry and I'm innocent as soon as he began speaking. She felt the slap of his words as if she were some cheap whore who would just give away her gift in pity. She did not pity him though. He was strong and powerful. Pity was not the word. She wanted to soothe his paine was all. She was one accustom to taking the pain away from others and onto herself. It just hurt her to see him in struggle and pain. "I did not come here with any intent to fuck you pity or otherwise." Arden said softly and calmly. She shook her head. "That was not my intent when I cam here no... but then yes... I thought maybe... two lost souls were meant to share together. You are strong Lir... but if you deny your body for to long... I fear it will turn on you... I only hope that there is someone as discreet and understanding as I around when it does." Arden spoke softly and calmly. She had felt his body ready to betray him. She feared what would happen when and if it did and what he might do to himself or others around him when he betrayed himself. "I am sorry Lir. My only intent was to come here and perhaps make a friend outside of work. But I am who and what I am... and it has been many, many moons since I have seen the glow of another against my skin...
