It was to be his last night at the Ossuary for a while, and in truth, Masaru did not mind one bit. he had already bought a rather large mansion, complete with a basement level that could only be locked from the inside. He had not picked out furniture or wallpaper, thinking that it might be nice for those underneath him to choose the colours and furnishings of their own wings. Even Vale would be allowed to choose her own things - something she had not done for sometime. All of this had been prompted by a decision, a realization as it were. That having those under his care tagged would be easier and safer for them - especially those who could not fight against the officials. Vale would fare well against one or two...but more than that? He was not so certain. Even she had limitations. It was with these thoughts in mind that he had decided that they would be moving out of the Ossuary (as not to compromise the Ossuary's sanctity) and into a new place. Everything was practically set in place... The only thing left to do was to tell Vale that their appointments to get the chip were for that evening - 8pm. He knew already that she would not take the news well, however she was his second and if she did not fall into line, then no one would. |

Hearing that Masaru planned to move himself and all of those under him out of the Ossuary had sounded like a long overdue decision to be made by the vampiress's master. The Ossuary was just so.. dark, and boring, frankly she'd been waiting for him to move out for quite some time now. What made the news even better was that, apparently, he wouldn't even be the one to decorate anything. It was up to everybody else to choose what their own rooms and walls and everything would look like; he hadn't even bought any furniture yet. It was such an opportunity.. Vale had gotten to planning right away. Tonight was her last night in the Ossuary - only a select amount of her things from her quarters would be transferred to the new home - so instead of sitting in a half empty room for the evening she'd decided to go and say hello to Masaru a little bit; perhaps discuss some of the ideas that she'd been having about how to work the decorations. She'd taken her time in approaching his quarters (she already knew he wasn't out anywhere.. their telepathic link was good for more then just direct communication) doubting that he'd get up and leave in the time it took her to arrive. She'd made sure to inform him of her arrival - a simple, 'Expect me sometime soon' before she'd left, so Vale only bothered to knock once on his doorway before letting herself inside. "Evening," she called out in greeting, scanning the room quickly for Masaru's whereabouts. |

"Evening." Masaru echoed in reply, his thoughts on the tagging procedure and still, on how to phrase it so that Vale would see his reasoning behind this particular logic. "I take it that you like the idea of moving out of the Ossuary then." Masaru ahd noticed how quickly Vale had packed most of her things after he'd told her about the move. He knew that Vale had a lot of items in her bedroom, and so for her to be finished packing in just a couple of nights was rather amazing. "I also noticed you went on a spending spree?" Nearly one million dollars worth of purchases had been made on the card he had given to her, though he hadn't exactly read the bill to see what she had bought - he trusted her to be financially smart and it wasn't like he didn't have the money to spare. He didn't mind that she had spent so much - in consideration of the fact that he was about to force her into being tagged. He doubted that what was about to be said would go well at all. "All pleasantries aside, Rosalie, I am glad you happened to stop by tonight. There is something I wish to discuss with you." In a manner that could be considered misleading (though he didn't intend to be), Masaru sat on his bed, patting the empty spot next to him to indicate to Vale where it was that he wanted her to sit. "I've been thinking long and hard about this Rosalie, for a very long time..." he stated, thinking carefully on how to phrase what he wanted to say. "As you know, last week, I had a rather bad run in with a government official...and since then I haven't been able to stop thinking about the what ifs..." Expecting a violent reaction from Vale to his next words, he grabbed Vales hands and held them firmly. "Everyone under my care and protection is going to be tagged. Including you. I made an appointment for tonight. Its in a couple of hours." |

"Of course I like the idea!" Vale had exclaimed, a grin overtaking her features. The Ossuary irritated her, in all honesty. Although she had considered it to be her home for quite some time now, she would've much preferred to live in some kind of mansion, like the old Horrorshow HQ. The fact that Masaru was seeing this now, pleased her quite a bit. "I'm sick of this maze.." Yes, she knew her way around just fine; but that didn't make it any less annoying. The building was just so inconveniently built.. "As for the money? You can understand that I only got the most necessary and relevant of items.." Just like those moose antlers that she'd bought for that one room.. although she'd probably never use or touch them again, it'd totally been worth the buy. She raised a skeptical brow as Masaru went and sat down on his bed; patting the seat beside him. His words made her feel even more suspicious. He was going on like... almost like he was considering discussing certain aspects of their relationship? Though reluctantly, she did sit down, making sure to watch him carefully. "...and since then I haven't been able to stop thinking about the what ifs.." He took her hands within his own, and Vale suddenly felt very- strange. "Masaru, I.." "Everyone under my care and protection is going to be tagged. ... Vale's jaw may as well have dropped to the ground. She stared at him in disbelief for several moments, staying perfectly still before suddenly jumping into action. She tried to rip her hands away from him, standing from her seated position in a fit of rage. Not only had he put all sorts of unwanted thoughts into her head with that damn misleading build-up of his, but he actually wanted her to get tagged. Tagged, as in chipped, as in like some sort of caged animal. To make things worse, it was scheduled to happen in just a few hours! "What the hell is wrong with you? I am not - I will not - be tagged by some humans who think that just because they have some species-ist new leader who doesn't like preternaturals she thinks she can order us all to be chipped like common animals! No, I won't do it, I refuse to! I can't even believe you would suggest it! And another thing-- do NOT call me Rosalie!" |

As suspected, Vale had not taken the announcement well. Masaru was glad that he had held her hands – she seemed like she wanted to hit him. Her rage was concerning – would all of those beneath him act in such a way? He hoped not. “Rosalie...” He said, ignoring her fit of rage. “These officials are not exactly your everyday weak psychic, or even necromancer. Their powers equate those of the council – I get the feeling that they are almost not normal...that something has fucked them from within to make them more powerful and maniacal. They will stop at nothing to hurt, or even kill our kind. Tagging is the best temporary solution right now to ensure everyones safety. I do not want anyone destroyed, lest of all you.” Masaru stood up in turn, wrapping his arms softly around her before chastely kissing her on the forehead, hoping to calm her down a little. “We do not want to be fighting all of Paris, Vale. Times are only going to get harder. Please...sit.” He broke contact with her, gesturing to the bed once more though he had no intention of sitting down. “After the tagging procedure, we will be going to the Golden Galileo...surely you know of the hospital.” It was well known in the supernatural community that that particular hospital catered specifically for lycanthorpes, fae and the occasional vampire. “There have been rumours that there is a procedure that will enable the tags to be removable. I wish to also endeavor to see if this process works.” He was pacing now, thinking about the possibilities and risks of the tag, and whether they measured up to the risks of not having them at all. Masaru had not heard much about the removable tag procedure, aside from the fact that it was done by one Miss Emilia Deveraux. So far all he knew about the woman was that she was experienced in the medical profession and that she was most definitely a cougar. Strangely, there had not been much recorded information about her in the governments system files, though it was hardly a surprise if she was performing such procedures. If they knew too much then she would have been caught long before now. Looking at Vale once more, he shrugged. “What do you say, Rose? Will you do this for me?” |

The use of her given name only furthered Vale's fury; he was so.. inconsiderate? That wasn't the word. He was considering her safety, she could acknowledge this much, but this was just as well as his own. She turned her head away as he spoke, refusing to allow the reason to break her barrier of annoyance. The tagging was a barbaric as well as idiotic procedure.. what did the humans honestly expect to achieve with it? Oh, you're tagged, therfor we have power over you. Now please, don't eat us..? Please. If this was how the government dealt with their 'problems' (in her eyes preternaturals and the like had absolutely nothing wrong with them and deserved to be treated just like everybody else) now, then she didn't even want to know where Paris would be going in the future. Elle Iveriot deserved the very most painful kind of death, for tarnishing France's good name as she was.. Rolling her eyes at his attempts at flattery - why was it that he only seemed to warm up to her that little bit when he wanted something? - Vale stared at him through narrowed eyes. She didn't sit immediately when he gestured for her to do so.. but at the mention of the Golden Galileo decided she may as well. She didn't want to go kicking him, or something of the sort, if he ended up dropping even more bad news on her unexpectedly; sitting down the chances of this happening were slightly less likely. Apparently the tags could be removable... that was already beginning to sound a bit more "For you? No.. however, if you're absolutely 100 per cent sure that I can get this tag to be removable.. I suppose I could undergo the procedure." |

“You wouldn't do it for me, Vale?” Masaru said coldly, dropping her former name and calling her by the one she preferred. He found Rosalie to be a far more...personal name, and thus he simply liked it better. However she only seemed to be further angered by his using it. He watched as she unhappily took the seat next to him. Perhaps they were not as close as they had been in the past – if they had been close at all, however he still believed that she would do as he asked simply because of their relationship. Perhaps a working relationship alone simply was not working. It was an exasperating thought. Masaru did not want to play the manipulation game, however it seemed to be the only game with rules that Vale would play by. He could do it. He would do it. No better time than the present, no? Shrugging, Masaru sighed. “Never-the-less, thank you...” Suddenly, before she had a chance to react, Masaru moved so that he was standing over her before pushing her down onto the bed forcefully and locking lips with hers. In one swift movement, he locked her hands above her head with his hands. His lips moved at first against, but then with hers so that their kiss was deep, made only deeper when he purposely cut his tongue on her teeth so that his blood gently split down her throat. However as sudden as he had started, he stopped, letting go of her and getting up nonchalantly, standing up and regaining his composure easily as if none of it had ever happened. He offered no explanation to his actions, nor would he if she bothered to ask. He was playing a game with her emotions, and though he was going to throughly enjoy every moment, he doubted that she would understand his reasons for doing so, much less agree to do anything should she figure it out. “We will be late if we don't leave now, Vale.” Masaru said, his voice once again cold. |

Had she actually insulted him? For whatever reason Vale doubted it. She rolled her eyes at his suddenly cold tone.. he'd get over it, either way. Or maybe not. She had no time to even think-- all of a sudden he was moving. Her initial instinct had been to try and get him away from her, expecting to be slapped for her insolence, or something of the sort - but instead he did something more.. surprising. Trapping her arms above her head, he pushed her back down onto the bed, pressing his lips to hers without leaving any room for protest. Confused - and still furious all the while, she fought him at first, before eventually just giving in. The kiss was far more deep; more passionate then she might have expected.. Not that she expected him to kiss her at all. The blood trickling down her throat only furthered this passion, but soon enough he was pulling away - and acting as if the whole incident never happened. "Masaru- what the fucking hell!?" Refusing to even acknowledge that she might've been the slightest bit disappointed when the kiss was cut short, she stood from her position on the bed, giving him an extremely questioning look. What the hell was he trying to accomplish? What happened to her being a manipulative bitch..? Maybe not in those exact words, but when they'd broken up that had basically been the implication. And they hadn't exactly been on the best terms, as of late.. It took her several moments, but she soon brushed off his action as a temporary lapse in judgement, or sanity. That, and he was probably just trying to.. calm her down, make her more willing to go through with the tagging procedure. Either way, the two were soon making their way into the limo and toward the nearest hospital. The tagging process itself didn't take too long, and soon enough the two were at the Golden Galileo, in search of a doctor by the name of Emilia Deveraux. The front desk had called the woman to the lobby, to meet the two of them, and now it was just a matter of awaiting her arrival. |

It wasn’t really an uncommon occurrence these days to be requested personally by people, though the young doctor really didn’t like not knowing why she’d been requested - by vampires, no less, as the receptionist let the doctor know that there were a couple of them requesting to see her. Right away it sent alarm bells going on in her head, but she wasn’t one to make assumptions straight away so she wrapped up the little paperwork that she’d been doing before calling security just to let them know to keep an eye out for a moment. The blonde wasn’t going to take any chances, not after an encounter a couple of months ago and especially not now that she was carrying. There were too many questions as to why on earth a vampire would want to see the cougar specifically, and she didn’t think it was Nathan. The woman was rather certain if he wanted to see her then he’d just appear whenever he felt like it rather than wasting time with staff who would make the woman only more paranoid than she already was half the time. If it was Sage, then she’d only have to give the signal for security to be all over him. And anyone else; well, she’d just be interested in knowing what they wanted. The doctor had made her way swiftly down to the lobby floor, walking quickly through the corridors from the lift and her eyes darted between the two vampires as she approached, slowing down slightly while she neared them. It took a great deal of effort not to react to the sight and scent of the female as she did – the memory all too fresh of what had occurred involving a couple of wolves; one of them Emi’s own boyfriend – but she managed to keep her expression neutral like she'd never met either of them (not hard, since she hadn't technically anyway) as she regarded the couple. As much as the urge was there deep inside to either rip the undead woman’s stomach open and play ‘Chopsticks’ on her ribs or simply flat out refuse them anything and send them packing with an escort of security, Emilia kept it buried beneath professional pleasantry for now until she could find out just why they were here to see her. “I am Doctor Deveraux,” The blonde’s gaze moved between the couple again and after a moment she determined that the male was the one who was the one likely in charge, simply by the way he held himself. The power that the empath could feel in the air around him suggested it was possible he held a strong position in the city too, “And I get the feeling that this would be better discussed somewhere not quite so public. Come with me then.” With a single gesture from the woman, a security guard approached from where he’d been watching around a corner to follow the woman as she began to lead the way down a corridor and to a private consulting room. The rather large leopard stood just inside the doorway and when they were all in, closed it for them as Emilia turned toward the arrivals once more, gesturing them to take a seat on the chairs, “Take a seat. The guard stays; I am sure you will understand, I have had enough less than pleasant encounters before.” There would be a couple more guards stationed outside the room by now as well. Preferring to remain standing herself, Emi leaned back against a desk, “So what can I do for you?” |

Masaru hadn't bothered to explain to Vale his actions, even during the car ride which was filled with a sharp silence. He had not cared to explain, and it was not long before they were in the Golden Galileo, and that crsip harsh silence was broken. He had requested a Dr Deveraux for a consultation about their tags, hearing long ago of the rumours that she was one of the few that could make the tags removable. How to approach the subject was a different matter entirely, as he was not sure if the entire hospital was working underneath her or not. The woman before him was very distinctly cougar, and though he did not show it on his face, he was more than a little disgusted by her. Lycanthorpes were nothing more than ghastly animals who needed to be put down, and fast. However considering their circumstances, he did not feel the need to express this opinion at that moment in time. He simply nodded when she stated that it would be better discussed elsewhere, which was a true enough fact. He wondered how much she knew about him, though he was not about to ask. It was not long before they entered into a room, a leopard standing nearby the doctor, arms crossed as though he was a bodyguard. The situation seemed humorous to Masaru. If he truly wished to harm her then he would have chosen a far more effective, simple and quick method than walking into a consultation room with her. However he respected her need to feel secure and thus said nothing about the guard, though he made it adamantly clear that he did not like the fact that the guard was there with one simple look. “I have heard rumours...” Masaru started, voicing his thoughts carefully, “that you are able to make tags removable.” He shrugged, a smile on his face as though it sounded like a crazy idea. If she truly did not know what he was talking about then he could simply play it off as something else. If the leopard creature did not know, it was not his problem. If worst came to worst he could always kill them. |

Already, the moment she’d introduced herself she knew that there was little love between these vampires and lycanthropes – call it a feeling but she would bet the only reason there would be any polite exchange today was because they needed something from her. That was fine by her, because if someone needed something from her, then they needed to be willing to do something for her as well. In the room she noticed the look from him that managed to convey his unhappiness at having someone listen in, but she kept a neutral expression. Whether he liked it or not – the leopard would be staying. She doubted the problem was with the vampires feeling threatened... they seemed rather arrogant to her. “I have heard rumours... that you are able to make tags removable.” This statement, however, brought a small frown to the doctor’s features as she studied the pair silently for a moment before she spoke, “That is certainly some rumour; I do not suppose you would be willing to tell me where you might have heard that one?” In fact, Emi made sure that the knowledge was kept on the down low in case any government types heard about it. The last thing she needed was to be investigated. She doubted vampires would be working for Iveriot though - the only explanation she could think of was that they were tagged and wanted the procedure done on them. The guard on duty knew what the doctor did, but didn’t make any move to suggest so, and the cougar considered for another moment before continuing, crossing her arms lightly as she leaned against the wall, “Who are you, and why are you asking?” Emi eyed the pair with slight scrutiny – if she was going to do anything for anyone then they would work with her. |

The truth of the matter was that it was certainly not a rumour, Masaru had done a damned lot of 'aggressive researching' to get even a hint to get a name. That name had been Goldilocks, whatever the heck that meant. No one had known the woman's name, and it had taken him a long time to place the little bits of information (that separate individuals that had given him) together and realize that very few people in Paris fit the criteria. Truly, he doubted that anyone could have found her unless they knew exactly what they were looking for. The small frown on her face, to him, was a revelation that she at the very least knew something about it. “The information was not easy to come by.” He stated, eyes locked onto hers, though he had no intention of rolling her. Rather, it was to reassure though the meaning might've been lost with the unreadable mask still covering his face. “I am Logan, and this is my associate Suzie. I'm the manager of Akutagawa Funeral Parlour, and Suzie is the receptionist.” The names and jobs came easily to him – they were identities they had both taken up to conduct human business. However, they were also identities that were well known in the supernatural community. Very few matched 'Logan' with 'Sorrow Eater', however those who did were rather swiftly dealt with. Especially those who had connections with the government. Though as far as keeping his council identity hidden from the human world was concerned, he was fairly safe in that regard. “I am simply asking because we have been tagged this night. It is a hassle for both of us to be tracked all the time, however it is a danger not to have them with us.” He shrugged, before finally looking away from the Cougar and leaning back in his chair. |

“The information was not easy to come by.” Emilia didn’t look away as his eyes moved to meet hers, perhaps confidence as well as the fact that if he wanted anything from her then he would know that attempting to roll her wouldn’t exactly work very well in his favour. “I am Logan, and this is my associate Suzie. I'm the manager of Akutagawa Funeral Parlour, and Suzie is the receptionist.” At the mention of both the name of the funeral parlour and the alias used for the manager there Emilia didn’t externally react, but her mind did run at a million miles an hour to pinpoint exactly who this man really was. Just as he had sources that must have led him to her, she had her own that kept their ears open for interesting news, and the truth was despite not wanting anything to do with the Vampire Council, she did like to know who they were. Imagine the Sorrow Eater coming to her in order to have tags made removable. She somehow doubted he’d been forced into being tagged, which meant the whole thing was simply to look good to the authorities... much the same as herself. “I am simply asking because we have been tagged this night. It is a hassle for both of us to be tracked all the time, however it is a danger not to have them with us.” “I have no doubt about that; anyone who has parts of their life they would prefer remain anonymous would find it bothersome,” Emilia shrugged before tilting her head slightly though as she glanced between the pair, “However, not being honest with me about your identities leaves me little reason to decide why I should even remove them for you.” Emi raised her eyebrows as she continued to study the couple, before she shrugged, “What I do, I do for those in the community who actually assist and protect one another and others who cannot defend themselves so well... however, Sorrow Eater, as far as I have noticed during my time in the shadows of Paris, you have done no such thing – so what reason is there for me to feel inclined to offer this service to your or yours?” She pouted slightly as though in thought for a moment and shrugging again, “Personally I see no benefit for myself or anyone else who is worth my time in this... unless you can think of anything?” She certainly saw no reason to de-tag the vamped up trailer trash that was with him. |

Vale had, for lack of better terms, almost completely zoned out during the conversation between Masaru and the good doctor Deveraux. Personally, she couldn't care less whether the woman trusted them or not.. all she really wanted was to get that fucking piece of machinery out of her, and if it didn't happen soon then she'd surely be digging underneath her own skin to remove it. In her mind, the woman was little more then an accessory.. a tool, even, to be used for her's and Masaru's own gain and that would be the end of it. They would never have to see Miss Deveraux again, and good riddance - the woman's voice was much like a cheese grater being run through Vale's ears, over and over... perhaps it was merely her boredom that made her feel this way. Tied with her irritation at being tagged in the first place, and it was already a reasonable explanation to the blonde's grater-voice. She was merely too tired, in a way, to hear it as it may have sounded to others. She did catch a word here and there, though. Their conversation consisted of little more then mindless drabble, both Masaru and the woman playing games. Both of them wanted information from the other, and they had to slip past one another's defenses to get it.. without actually revealing themselves in the process. Tiresom politics that she was much happier without. Of course, Vale could and would deal with such issues on her own terms also - but in such a case where she was not required to put on her politician's hat, she did what she could not to. The most important thing for the majority of the discussion had been to merely look like she was listening, and give off the image of a good little servant. One who bowed to her master's every command and desire... right. That was how it was. It was only when Miss Deveraux finally admitted knowledge of Masaru's title, that she forced her mind back to the task at hand. Although it was possible to merely force the cougar to perform the procedure, there was no guarantee that she wouldn't purposely sabotage it and make an attempt on either Vale's or Masaru's lives in the meanwhile. There was no guarantee that she wouldn't do it anyway, but the chances of her attempting murder decreased significantly if she was operating of her own free will. When Emilia asked of them why she should perform the procedure, the vampiress did admit she felt a twinge of annoyance. More then just a twinge - she was down right angry. Who did she think she was, insulting the head of the council like this? It was a privelige for a lowly, unimportant feline such as herself to even be in the same room as either of them, and she had the nerve to go asking why she ought to consider them worthy of her time? The anger didn't subdue when Masaru looked to her expectantly, either. He wanted her to answer the woman's questions. Joyous of joys, she was flattered that he'd chosen a time like now, to test her. Honestly. "Ms Deveraux," speaking for the first time since actually entering the room, the woman's name tasted terrible in Vale's mouth. Nevermind that she couldn't actually taste anything - in her mind, she was convinced that a word was little more then filth. "I'm sure you can understand the need for falsity within introductions. As my associate has stated.. we had only heard rumors, of whether or not you were able to make tags removable. Imagine if you hadn't been able to do so, and we'd come inside, given you our real identities for you do to with as you please? Names hold power, Miss Deveraux, as you ought to know.. in your line of work." Pausing, she glanced briefly in Masaru's direction before making a quick decision on exactly how to handle the situation. "Despite whatever connections you may have in Paris's underground, you ought to already know that there will always be certain things and people that you will not have extensive knowledge about. So, you have learned the Sorrow Eater's title. But what else do you know? If your sources are as good as you let on, you will have already learned that you're currently standing in the presence of a council member. Being such, there are, naturally, vampires, lycanthropes, humans and other creatures under him and within his kiss. They are a part of Paris's community just as much as you or any other person in this room, Miss Deveraux - unless you would go so far as to deny them that right. They, along with anyone else who it may or may not have been offered to, are currently under both the Sorrow Eater's and my own protection. They are.. defended, if they cannot themselves, as you put it." This really was tiring. She honestly didn't even care if it was working to convince the cat - so long as she proved her wrong. That was it. The convincing didn't even matter, yet. "It would be unfair of you or anyone else for that matter, to imply that simply because we are currently part of this community, that one particular kiss of vampires should be responsible for helping all of those around us. There are people you don't extend your welcome to either, as I imagine. Just take this incident, for example. In a way, we cannot help ourselves from being tagged. Keeping our privacy is a severe issue and the tags make that almost impossible. You, having the power to remove them but refusing... well." Shrugging a shoulder, she forced a smile to her lips - of course, looking completely natural to any who might've been watching. She ought to honestly go up for some kind of debating group. Ranting on, and on about this crap was so easy, the words merely flowed out of her mouth. "If that's still not enough for you to even consider extending to us your services, there are methods of payment that may interest you..." Waving a dismal hand (for whatever reason she didn't believe Good Doctor Emily would go taking their dirty, dirty money), she fought the urge to roll her eyes. This was more effort then she'd come in for. "Along with the knowledge that a member of the vampire council, would be in your debt." Perhaps, if she was lucky, once their tags were removed Masaru would allow Vale to kill the irritating kitty. Or at the very least, play with her.. If she was lucky. ooc: Lul, sorry for rant/wall of text guys. But hey, it made up for skipping like 4 posts? Edited by Vale, Apr 16 2009, 01:39 AM.

As if she wasn’t already rather disconcerted with the fact that one of the Vampire Council was here in the hospital with a vamp-tramp who Emilia would have loved nothing more than to simply feed holy water to – but the moment she noticed him look at the other woman, Emilia had to refrain from screwing up her nose. Ew, he was going to have the subordinate speak for him? How... well... utterly predictable for someone in power... but boring nonetheless, and what little interest Emi might have had in finding out more about this Masaru had quickly diminished. Especially since he was going to make her listen to someone who didn’t even know how to refer to a person by their title. A clearly blank look overcame Emilia’s features as her gaze drifted to Vale slowly while the vampire began to speak. Something about those under the Sorrow eater... yadda-yadda vampire politics and attempts to make Emi look like an idiot because she was obviously below them and whatever else they wanted to think about someone who they were supposed to be attempting to convince to help them out. Emi’s thoughts drifted off to whether she should bother telling Jason about this visit after she finished work – she somehow doubted it would be appropriate dinner time talk. Thinking about dinner, she remembered she needed to thaw some mince out and mentally reminded herself that she’d have to call Elena after this and see if she could get it out of the freezer for her and check the cupboards for all the ingredients for her home-made burgers. She’d have to remember to pick up that new dvd that the teen wanted to see as well and mentally listed that down. She’d definitely picked a good night for burgers though, since she doubted this news would go down well with the werewolf and would need to sweeten him up first – this subject for pillow talk was definitely out of the question... "If that's still not enough for you to even consider extending to us your services, there are methods of payment that may interest you... Along with the knowledge that a member of the vampire council, would be in your debt." The cougar didn’t even respond to the female vampire – to be honest whilst she’d been wrapped up in her own thoughts it was almost as if the other woman hadn’t even said a word. Instead, Emi glanced at Masaru again and raised her eyebrows and continued where she'd left off before motormouth had started reeeling of a long-winded nothing, “So anyway, how would you be willing to make it worth my time? I know you have subordinates to watch over, but in the end that is only to serve your own interest, is it not? Personally, I would like to see you stretch out that generosity a little wider, to those who do not serve directly beneath you.” She tilted her head slightly with a small smile, “How does that sound?” |

If ever there was a time to be impressed with Vale, he would have been then. Very rarely did she actually play politics. In truth, when he had given her the look, he had half expected her to make some sort of rude dramatic exit. But no, he was impressed with what she had said. The only downside being that instead of negotiating a sugar-coated deal, she had been very blunt, suggesting things that Masaru wasn't happy to do at all. Unfortunately Emi had picked up on it in a second. A council member in debt to an animal? It was something that caused him to give a sharp look at Vale. He didn't bother with subtleties – it was not something any of them were going to ignore. “You are suggesting that I watch over who, exactly?” Masaru said, a smirk on his face. “I can do little more then offer protection to those who want it. I do not have the time to watch over anyone.” Not to mention the fact that he did not want to do either. However Vale had already let the cat out of the bag, and it could not simply be brushed over. He had the feeling that Emi was a damnned stubborn creature. The very least he could do was negotiate his way out so that the debt was not so great. “Those I watch over personally, are those who have metaphysical connections to me. Would you truly want that, Goldilocks?” Though he still was not sure if it was truly her or not, the name could have simply passed off as condescending or an insult to her. His eyes remained on Emi, though his thoughts were on Vale and what exactly he should do for a suitable lesson. It couldn't be punishment, Vale had done a too good a job to warrant punishment. However the fact that she had suggested the deal for him without asking was something he was not in the slightest bit happy with. |
