Almost a month since she’d been forcibly marked; and Lilya was still having difficulties coming to terms with the whole thing. Not that it stopped her from living her life normally still – she had photo shoots to do, interviews to attend, functions and events that she needed to appear for. In fact, tha latter was what she was doing at the moment. It was a promotion event for a film that she had a leading role in which was set to complete filming soon enough, and then in six months or so, it would be released on the big screen. It was already receiving some praise from few who’d seen behind the scenes. Normally, such an event and the news about a success should have cheered her up some, allowing the tigress to mingle with other attendees and co-actors – perhaps even check out some talent to take home, or to the back of her limo. The tigress now had her bodyguards picked out specially by professionals, not particularly wanting to make the same mistake as she had before. Tonight, though, the woman felt rather despondent and not very much like herself. She was also wary, and continuously glancing about the crowded venue in case she saw a sign of the vampire who’d literally changed her life. She was still haunted by that night which had taken a very strange turn, and as much as she hated the fact that she was now his animal servant, a part of the woman almost actually hoped that he would show up, just so she wouldn’t feel so bored. Even anger and annoyance was better than nothing, right? She refused to think that she might actually miss him... she blamed the marks for her confusion. Feeling less than enthused by the clusters of people who wanted to talk and praise her, Lilya had moved herself to the bar for a moment to get herself some peace, and a strong drink. Picking up a glass of Full Moon she’d managed to quietly ask have look like any other cocktail that was being served, she took a sip before leaning her back against the bar with a sigh and watching the crowd. She considered whether to just make it an early night tonight, given her mood – it wasn’t like she had to stay really – but she’d wait it out just a little longer. |

The stench of humans turned Michael's stomach the instant he had walked into the hotel ballroom. Still he managed to keep his composure, straightening his suit and tie to make sure he looked presentable. The male tiger was not suppose to be there of course. He had no invitation nor had he actually been invited. But then no one had to know about the photographer that had been stuffed into a dumpster behind the hotel. All that mattered to the tiger was the Press Pass that he had stolen and now had tucked away in his pants pocket. Michael knew that she was here. While he had not seen her, he simply knew. It was a feeling -- a certainty. The male had been watching her when he could and collecting magazine clippings and watching the television intently for a glimpse of his porcelian beauty. News of the event for her upcoming movie had taken his attention especially and Michael had realized that it would be the opportune time for him to get closer to her. The fact that he could not touch her was almost excrutiating to the tiger who yearned for her. Michael craved Lilya Dharnen. Within ten minutes of arriving, Michael had caught her sweet scent. But he had not approached her right away. Instead he had observed her from a corner to both avoid the throng of people and to give himself the best possible vantage point. He felt antsy by simply watching. He ached to touch her. To breath in her scent. To take her. Watching as she moved to the bar and ordered a drink, Michael decided then to move in. The tall man moved through the crowd with ease, despite his disgust of the humans around him. His sights were set on Lilya and Lilya alone until he was at the bar and leaned against it casually. Facing her, there was still a 'safe' amount of space between them even if he wanted to be close her. To press her against that counter and let her feel every hard angle of his body. Clenching and unclenching his jaw, Michael banished those thoughts as the bartender looked to him expectantly, "I'll have what she's having." The male's blue-grey eyes shifted to Lilya, a smirk sliding over his features, "Not enjoying the party?" Michael had been observing her long enough that he could see that she was not enjoying herself. |

The past few weeks had been...interesting for the vampire. Admittedly, he wasn't quite sure how the taking of an animal servant would effect him; he hadn't been prepared for the sudden barrage of lost sense returning. Everything that Lilya had put into her mouth, he tasted again. It was disconcerting, tasting things he hadn't in hundreds of years. Sometimes he found himself sitting in his study, eyes closed as if resting, waiting for her to eat again so he could savor the taste. Vasilios could feel her, her emotions rolling into him as if he was angry, upset, annoyed...nervous. In some ways, it was annoying. Sometimes, it came in handy. Like tonight. Tonight, she was nervous, and there was an underlying current of longing. Longing for him. The vampire was secretly glad for that, even though he denied the fact that he missed her as well. He'd heard about this...function for her moving picture, and he'd decided to attend to help celebrate his tiger's success. Over the past month, the vampire had sent out one of the newer members of his Kiss-a young human boy that Miranda had become obsessed with- to get the movies that Lilya had stared in. And, admittedly, he'd enjoyed them. In truth, they were the only ones he'd seen, even in his hundreds of years of existence. But he still, he reasoned as he made his way through the crowd, Lilya would have made a wonderful actress in traditional theater. Vasilios made a mental note to go to the premier; he would make it happen. A slight smile slipped over his face as he caught sight of the object of his musings, leaning against the bar, looking radiant as ever. His eyebrows raised a little as he watched the other man slip in next to the woman, nostrils flaring as bit as he caught wind of the familiar scent. It was another tiger, and a rather large and imposing one at that. Vasi didn't like him instantly. As the vampire made his way to the bar, he caught the tail end of the imposing man's question. "...enoying yourself?" Stepping up next to the tigress, the vampire leaned in to kiss her cheek lightly. "She will now that I am here." he said mildly. "Hello, my dear." |

Admittedly, Lilya was beginning to think that perhaps it was time to move away from Paris for a while considering everything going on. She didn’t care that people knew she was a lycanthrope, she’d outed herself purposely ages ago when she’d first started becoming something of a celebrity. Of course, back then Iveriot’s people weren’t all over the place like rodents. It wasn’t just that either, she missed some of her friends that she’d made in her travels over the years, and hadn’t really made that many more since starting in her new modelling and acting careers. Catherine had disappeared some time ago – and Mia had moved from Miami, but the tigress had no idea where to. She couldn’t stand some of the other women in the modelling business... so where did that leave her? Feeling rather lonely and she could have groaned and headdesked the bar for sounding so depressing to herself if she wasn’t in a public venue and surrounded by people. She’d consider getting to know some of the Ambush – except that she was bound to a council member now and doubted they’d want much to do with her let alone be put at risk of gaining Vasilios’ attention. Lost in her pondering, it took a moment before the undeniable scent of one of the things she’d been thinking of reached her senses and the female tensed up instinctively from years of bad memories, before her gaze cut across next to her to find a Goliath of a tiger next to her. Her eyes would have widened into a stare if not for years of performing and the ability to control her reactions, and though she relaxed a little as they were in a public place, it wasn’t complete relaxation as he spoke. "I'll have what she's having ... Not enjoying the party?" Calming herself slightly, Lil chuckled a little with a small shrug and was about to answer until she felt something else familiar and her head spun to regard Vasilios as he approached and slipped straight in next to her naturally before giving her a kiss on the cheek which earned a flashbulb from a watching photographer and a surprised stare from the tigress. "She will now that I am here ... Hello, my dear." Dear?? What the hell? Since when did he decide he was going to start calling her ‘Dear’? Lilya was still pissed off about what had gone on that night they’d met, and what had resulted from it. How dare he just walk up to her like he was some Prince Charming come to sweep her off her feet like that and... oh yeah, there was the feeling of irritation that was going to keep her from being bored for the rest of the night. A practised polite smile touched her lips, though her eyes glared daggers at him as she spoke under her breath, “What the hell are you doing here?” Huffing in annoyance, her attention then turned from the vampire, back to the tiger who’d settled beside her with probably a more genuine polite smile as she continued on to answer the question he’d asked and that Vasi has rudely intervened on, “Parties like this bore me to death to be honest., whether Prince Charming here shows up to them or not. Its just a bunch of people finding any excuse to publicise the hell out of themselves and try to make something that should be seen to be judged look good before any real critics get a chance to decide that for themselves.” She then shrugged before taking a sip of her drink. |

This close to Lilya and it took every ounce of willpower not to simply jerk the woman around, spread her legs and take her against the bar counter. It did not stop the images from rolling through his head though as his mind mused how beautiful and delicate she was. For some strange reason the voices were quieter when he was around Lilya or when he thought about her. They sometimes still murmured to him, attempting to tell him that she was vain or any of the other things he despised. Michael knew that they were wrong about her. The scent of something akin to the dead was taken in by the male just before he saw a dark haired man step beside Lilya and place a kiss on her cheek, "She will now that I am here... Hello, my dear." 'Who is this?!' His mind snarled and the voices rose. They giggled and mocked Michael's foolishness. 'See... she has another...' 'Fool... we told you...' 'She's a whore... a whore to a ... VAMPIRE' The tiger's jaw tightened and his chin lifted to peer downward at the vampire who touched his Lilya. His mate. The hand that was stuffed in his pants pocket had curled into a tight fist. Visions of removing the vampire's head danced in his mind. “What the hell are you doing here?” The tightened fist loosened a little at the tigress' response. Lilya did not appear happy to see the vampire and that alone was a comfort to the twisted man. Instead of addressing the creature further, she turned to him. Something that greatly pleased Michael and the hint of a smug smile appeared on his face at the vampire before his eyes focused on Lilya. “Parties like this bore me to death to be honest., whether Prince Charming here shows up to them or not. Its just a bunch of people finding any excuse to publicise the hell out of themselves and try to make something that should be seen to be judged look good before any real critics get a chance to decide that for themselves.” "Vampires are hardly Prince Charmings." He stated quite frankly, uncaring that the creature was there. As far as Michael was concerned, he could rip out the dead things unbeating heart and stomp it under his boot. In fact, perhaps he would do that in due time, "But if you dislike it so much... perhaps you should leave. I'm sure there is a bar around here much more hospitable." |

Oh, that was perfect. Vasi knew that it would piss his little kitten off to no end to see their picture in a magazine. Perhaps he'd send someone out for copies and have one framed for his office, just so she would see it whenever she came in. Of course, that moment of smug happiness was wiped away when she turned away from him to speak to the mangy cat in front of them. The one who seemed to take an immediate disliking to the vampire, dismissing him as readily as Lilya had. His eyebrow rose almost imperceptibly, glancing the larger male up and down. “And mangy alley cats are Prince Charmings, surely.” He murmured. “And I’m here to help you celebrate your accomplishment, my Lilya.” he said as the tiger turned around to speak to the mangy cat in question. As the male tiger looked up at him, the vampire sensed the change in energy around him. Anger rolled off the man in waves, and his eyes glittered in a slightly homicidal way that almost made Vasi laugh. The tiger reminded him very much of Caliban. He almost laughed, then. But that would have insulted Lilya. Instead, he placed a hand on her waist lightly. “I wouldn’t spend too much time with this one, ma petite tigre. He reminds me too much of Caliban to be comfortable.” It was odd, sending the message telepathically. Vasi would not be letting her leave with him. The vampire did not care if he had to drag her by the hair away from the male; he would. Lilya would probably enjoy it, though. The fake polite smile slid back onto his face as he glanced down at the woman. “Do not sell yourself short. You are a wonderful actress.” |

Suddenly Lil was feeling just a little more uncomfortable as she felt the growing anger from both the tiger next to her and from her vampire master and it was enough to begin setting her on edge as well as her fingers squeezed around the glass she was holding. Was it really that much of a competition? Okay, so perhaps from Vasi’s point of view since she was marked to him – the tiger she didn’t really understand much unless he just really didn’t like vampires as a rule. Though she couldn’t help but feel uneasy around him still, she didn’t mind pissing the vampire off. "But if you dislike it so much... perhaps you should leave. I'm sure there is a bar around here much more hospitable." Lil raised an eyebrow, but shook her head slightly with a small chuckle, “No, I do have keep up appearances, as much as I hate it,” Not to mention the fact that she wasn’t going to just pick up and head out to any old bar. She had the strangest feeling that the tiger would want to accompany her, and something about him just rubbed her the wrong way. A moment later and she felt Vasilios’ hand slip carefully about her waist. “I wouldn’t spend too much time with this one, ma petite tigre. He reminds me too much of Caliban to be comfortable.” The tigress jumped slightly at the sound of his mental voice in her head – unused to this kind of communication, but then cast a quick glance toward Vasi before glancing down at her drink and taking another sip. The affectionate term was also distracting and got her to consider what he’d said. ’Its just a party... what’s going to happen to me here?’ The woman almost cringed as she remembered how she’d ended up in the situation with the vampire though, ’I’m not in the habit of making the same mistake twice.’ “Do not sell yourself short. You are a wonderful actress.” For a moment the female was almost surprised – where had that come from? Was the a compliment? Then again, perhaps she was more surprised at the fact that he’d possibly seen any of her movies to begin with, “Well thank you. That’s what a lot of people say; I do my best since its something that I enjoy.” Dear God, was she actually having decent conversation with Vasilios? Mentally shaking herself out of it, Lil turned a scrutinising eye toward the large tiger once more as she considered him a moment, “So are you involved with one of the production crew, or the media? I mean, its a fairly closed off party and I don’t remember seeing you around other private events before.” It was mildly suspicious, and while she could ask Vasi the same thing there was no doubt he’d probably just said something as blatant as he was her boyfriend while rolling one of the doormen or something in order to get in. |

“And mangy alley cats are Prince Charmings, surely.” Michael's eyes narrowed dangerously at the vampire. It took every ounce of strength not to sneer at being referred to as a 'mangy alley cat.' The stink of the dead creature filling his nostrils and making the inner beast coil in a bundle of defensive rage. If the beast had shape right then it would have been hissing with pupils wide and ready to lunge. Vampires no doubt tasted like shit, but Michael knew he would enjoy peeling the flesh of his this creature's face. “No, I do have keep up appearances, as much as I hate it." Michael sombered a little at Lilya's voice, eyes turning toward her as she politely declined his suggestion to go to a bar. He should have known that Lilya would be too intelligent to fall for such a simple request. How many times had the male lured unsuspecting women to a bar or back alley? Far too many. But it was an affective method for disposing of the trash and wastes of life that they were. Yes, Lilya was clever -- and that in itself made him smile inwardly at the challenge as well as the increase in attractiveness toward the petite female. “So are you involved with one of the production crew, or the media? I mean, its a fairly closed off party and I don’t remember seeing you around other private events before.” The question drew the male from his thoughts before he revealed the VIP ID that he had in his pocket, not caring that it revealed the name Anthony Brown for Feuille Jeune Magazine, "Media actually." He responded without batting an eye, "I'm a little new to the job... first time attending one of these events. So I apologize if I seem a little forward Miss Dharnen." With an even tone, he apologized whole heartedly, "But perhaps we could arrange an interview at some point?" |
