Antony looked around. He had never been inside the lair of his comrades, of his people and he hated starting now. He felt, however, he should show up, show his face among those who called him brother. His association with vampires had been all bad up until now and he wasn't sure he wanted to begin anew with these creatures. But he was one of them so he swallowed his pride and stood in the darkness of the Ossuary, waiting for someone to approach him. He could taste the blood on the air without opening his mouth. The smell was something like a cross between dust, blood and perfume all culminating into one odor. Damn his senses, he cursed them sometimes for bringing his scents he'd rather not take part in. He shifted his shoulders, hissed aloud and stretched his fingers. Someone should be coming along shortly, right? He leaned against the wall. A spider crawled onto his shoulder. He smiled at it. He hadn't even called it to him. He paused and looked at the creature deeply. It was his friend and ally. He knew that now. He sighed and turned to the darkness. Was everyone just rising now? |

If he drank coffee a mug of steaming hot coffee would have completed Nova's look. He wasn't one for having many servants twittering about him and placating to his every need. And so he had to fetch the paper every evening himself. Going through one of the Ossuary's many hidden entrances to grab the paper from where he had it delivered. It seemed like an awful lot of trouble for just the paper. But Nova did like to keep abreast of all current events. And so it was dressed in nothing but baggy linen pants the scruffy blonde man walked through the main hall of the Ossuary reading the paper. Engrossed in the latest news of Iveriot it seemed as if he would just pass on by without even so much as a nod to the man standing against the wall. Just as he was about to pass into the hallway he spoke. "Unless you have business or an invite I suggest leaving the way you came. Those who rest here are not very welcoming to those unknown." Nova spoke. Having more then his fair share of first hand experience on that one. He paused he should just walk away go back to his own little space and not get involved. But he couldn't. With a sigh he turned back towards the man tucking his newspaper under his arm. "I suppose you wouldn't be here for no reason though." Nova stated. Still no questions. |

Antony raised an eyebrow. The man didn't look anything like a traditional vampire; scruffy and unkempt. Antony snorted and stood up straight from the wall. He gave the vampire a flash of fang as he opened his mouth to speak. He wanted to show the man that he was tough and he was a vampire, not a thing. He gave a flash of his vampire eyes. "Clearly I'm not here for no reason. Only a stupid man gets caught in the dragon's den without a valid reason." He switched his eyes over to a rather secretive position. "Or a well sharpened sword." He crossed his hands behind his back and nodded rather lazily. "I have no invitation," he said slowly and with as much dignity as he could, "I have only my desire to be connected to the blood drinkers of Paris." He slide to the vampire's side with a fluid motion. He held out his hand. "I am Antony St. Clairi. A master vampire of Ireland. I just arrived here a few weeks ago. Paris is so lovely this time of year, don't you agree?" He smiled rather cruely, flashing so much fang anyone could tell he was a vampire. "And you are?" Antony laughed rather inappropriately. "Rude is one thing but your name would be better." Antony crossed his arms across his chest and looked the vampire up and down. He was convinced that he had a lesser vampire on his hands. His spiders were still crawling about him and he thought he looked rather terrifying. "Who are you blood oathed to, my friend?" |

Nova tried not to laugh outright as this man tried to itimidate him. Did he really think flashing fangs and darkened eyes was suppose to intimidate another vampire? Was he so young to be so naive? As the man spoke Nova took note of the spiders crawling around him. He was unimpressed but felt bad for the man as he was clearly trying to impress and intimidate him. Staking out his claim. Though the man obviously was living under a rock in Ireland or even hear in Paris if he had no idea who was standing before him. Not that Nova was full of himself. On the contrary, it was kind of refreshing to not have someone either hunting him or hounding him for just being him. To be asked WHO he was was such a rarity of late he found it entirely amusing. "If you wish to take good advice as rudeness that is your perogative." Nova said with a slight bow of his head. "My name is Donovan." He introduced himself. Not with his common name but the name e had last adopted prior to it. The man might not recognize him by face, but most of the Vampire community knew at least the names of those who had taken positions upon the council. "Odd how you go from insulting me to calling me your friend. I never understand that." Nova shrugged. "Are you here to blood oath yourself Antony? To whom will you be bestowing such an honor? I'm sure they should be aware then of your arrival." Nova asked. For some reason he wondered at this man. Whether he had just walked in willy nilly and would just take the first Master who offered him the oath. Nova looked him up and down. Appraising him. No He did not seem like the type at all that Nova would entrust to call one of his. But he could make no such decisions for anyone else. Nova was deliberatly avoiding his direct questioning about who he was bloodoathed to. For multiple reasons. The least of which was that answering truthfully would give away his position. And the best way to learn about someone was to not diviluge his position or power or standing, less they clam up. RIght now he thought he was no one. And for now Nova was not about to correct him. |

Antony shrugged and stepped back. The vampire didn't seem to be phased by him. But that didn't bother him. Why hadn't he answered the question about his blood oath? Donovan was his name and he seemed nonchalant, cool, collected. Antony immediately liked him already. He wished he could be that cool under pressure. Maybe there was no pressure. Maybe the vampire felt no nerves, no feelings of fear. Antony hoped one day he would get like that but he would just have to wait. After all, he'd waited five hundred years he could wait a few more. "Are you here to blood oath yourself Antony? To whom will you be bestowing such an honor? I'm sure they should be aware then of your arrival." Was she? Antony wasn't sure. He'd hand an open hand, grasping out for him to join 'the kiss' as she called it. He was so sure she knew he was coming to join. On what date and time? No, he didn't think she knew. Shiina was her name. Normally he wouldn't have bowed down to a woman. But she scared him. She scared his spiders. And he did need protection and comfort. And a family. He'd lost his long ago. Now he needed a new place to feel safe from the light of day. Someone new to protect him. He turned his blue eyes to the vampire before him. Maybe he knew Shiina and could give him some pointers. You know? What to say and what not say. "I apologize for my rudeness if it offended you, good sir," Antony replied with his Edgar Allen Poe dialect, "Yes, I am here to blood oath myself. I am new in Paris and I was offered a hand by a council member. A certain woman, if you know of her, by the name of Shiina?" |

Nova's mop of blonde hair cocked to the side as the man seemed to contemplate. At least he didn't seem to be trying to trample him any longer from his high horse. Perhaps the man had realized with whom he was speaking. Or perhaps he just realized trying to intimidate another Vampire was just fruitless. For the most part. A bit of a surprise look moved over Nova's face as the man actually apologized to him. It was a rarity for any Vampire he knew to apologize without coaxing. Perhaps he had slightly misjudged this man. He held up his hand to try and stop the apology. "I do not offend easily. But I am perhaps the most easygoing of us you will meet. You would do well to keep yourself in check with those you meet. Especially those who dwell within these walls." Nova again offered the polite suggestions of advice. He listened as the man said he had indeed been invited and offered an oath. "Now see that wasn't so hard. You do have every right to be here if you were offered such. But there is no need to prove your prowess to me. And many here might attempt to prove there power back if you try first. Just a simple bit of advice Antony." Nova shrugged. Shiina wasn't exactly on the best of terms with him though he could say that about most of the council. He was on shaky ground with everyone. But that was just par for the course for who he was. He wasn't about to just barge into Shiina's quarters with this new arrival though. He reached out trying to sense if there was someone nearby he could send to Shiina's quarters to make her aware of the guest she had waiting for her. It made sense if the man was from Ireland that he would have perhaps come across Shiina. As her former home had been England. Close enough as far as the American Vamp was concerned. "Would you like me to try and find someone to announce your arrival?" Nova asked. He knew any other council member would have possibly just ignored the man. But he wasn't you're ordinary council member or ordinary man. |

"I do not offend easily. But I am perhaps the most easygoing of us you will meet. You would do well to keep yourself in check with those you meet. Especially those who dwell within these walls." "Us?" Antony couldn't help speaking his thoughts. Us? Other vampires or? Oh no. Had he just mouthed off to a member of the...no way. There was no way, he mused as he looked the man up and down. He didn't seem the sort to be a council member. Messy, American, Kind. He had heard the council wasn't kind at all. His eyes stayed unmoved but his thoughts were racing. Oh St. Clairi, what did you just get yourself into! He shifted silently as a spider crawled into his palm. They comforted him, made him feel less awkward. After all he was a master, the spiders at least showed that to the other vampire. Though this vampire, if not a council member, was defiantly more powerful than he was. He cowered slightly. The spiders may have made him feel less awkward but they didn't ease his fear. "Now see that wasn't so hard. You do have every right to be here if you were offered such. But there is no need to prove your prowess to me. And many here might attempt to prove there power back if you try first. Just a simple bit of advice Antony." Antony nodded, not speaking for fear of saying something stupid. He stroked the spider in his palm cautiously. Advice from this vampire seemed to be piling up. Was he that stupid? If only he hadn't spent his fledgling vampire years under his parents' wing. If only he'd been allowed to at least ask Dorthy the rules before being whisked back to Ireland! He shuddered as the vampire continued. "Would you like me to try and find someone to announce your arrival?" Antony nodded furiously, then stopped abruptly. That was rude and childish. He cleared his throat and opened his mouth. "Yes sir, I would like that very much." ooc: sorry this took so long, I couldn't think of how to respond. |

Nova gave a nod to his inquiring 'Us?' comment. He didn't clarify the statement but rather let Antony think what he wanted. It could of course be put either way because Nova was indeed an anomilie. Not just amongst the council but amongst most of the European Vamps it seemed. He did take note of the man's call to the spiders. It was certainly an 'interesting' animal form to call. Some may have even found it unnerving, or creepy, but Nova was rather taken with it. To have the ability to call such a unique species. Though he supposed there was also draw backs as he didn't think there was anything like a lycanthropic spider about. Nova said little as he let the spiders comfort the man. He could sense, as most vamps cause, the scent of fear coming from the man. He didn't think less of him for it. Many vamps, master or not, felt fear or unease when visiting the council. Nova's influence had not changed much of anything within the council and many still feared them and their laws and their swift judgements and executions of said laws. Nova smiled as the man nodded furiously like a little awestruck child. A sigh though quickly followed as he realized the man had figured him for council and was fearful that he had upset him. "Nova... no Sir's just ... Nova." Nova sighed. No use trying to make the man feel more comfortable by using his full name anymore. Might as well use the name that would be known as a council member. "Wait here a moment." Nova said holding up a finger. He turned and quickly left the antechamber following his senses where he found one of the human servants milling about collecting up laundry and the like. "Excuse me. Would you mind please going to the Lady Shiina's quarters and making her or one of hers aware that she has a visitor in the ante chamber." Nova spoke quickly before the girl could cower too much. He left without awaiting a response. He had learned quickly that trying to be overly nice to the servants was sometimes seen as manipulating or scary to them. So he was appeased to hear the girls feet swiftly carrying her towards the direction of Shiina's wing. Nova returned back to the Ante chamber with Antony. "Hopefully... with luck Shiina or at the least one of hers will be along shortly." Nova attempted a smile. |
