Vale.. almost couldn't believe it. Masaru had, over the phone no less, unofficially ended his relationship with her. And then he'd told her that he wanted to make her his second. At the time she hadn't known how to react at the news.. this was what she'd wanted, wasn't it? To have power? But she didn't understand how the position could possibly work. She wasn't a master. The minute Masaru left the Ossuary she could be attacked, and fairly easily beaten, much as she hated to admit it. Though she'd agreed to come back to her old home (which she'd been so rudely thrown out of), she'd had to think quite hard on the matter before actually getting up to leave. Ultimately her opinion didn't particularly matter - who was she to question her master? Because now, that was the only thing she could refer to him as. Not her lover, not anything at all besides her superior. Admittedly it was a little irritating.. though she was getting a higher position within his kiss, she felt somewhat rejected by Masaru. He'd finally come to his senses, yes, realized that he'd only wanted her for the ardeur, and that she'd been using him.. but.. it wasn't a comforting thought, the mere chance (however slim) that he might've actually gotten tired of her. That maybe, he just didn't want her anymore. The drive back to the Ossuary had felt strangely long; more quiet and boring then usual. Vale wondered if she actually wanted to go back. If somebody had asked her to return hours ago, her immediate response would have been a very blunt but to the point 'no.' But now, she wasn't entirely sure. This new backbone that Masaru seemed to have grown overnight had piqued her curiosity.. and she realized sometime along the drive that she wanted to see if it'd last. Whether he'd just revert back to shivering at her very touch, or whether it might actually develop into a proper spinal chord. The arrival at the Ossuary had been unnoticed; she'd practiced the art of slipping into buildings without causing a fuss as of late, as opposed to the grand entrances she'd preferred at one point. Making her way into the Necropolis, Vale made a bee line toward Masaru's quarters where they were supposed to be meeting. It was strange; a part of her wanted to see him, while the rest of her screamed out to turn and walk away. There was just an impending sense of doom that seemed to linger in the area.. but that might just be due to the nature of her master's powers. The Sorrow Eater; it was damn depressing, literally. "Masaru?" She called upon entering the room, if not cautiously pushing open his doorway and stepping inside. |

Masaru had taken a long time to realize his mistakes, let alone admit that he had been making them. So infatuated had he been with Vale that it had clouded all other judgements for a while – she was his obsession, and perhaps, the worst thing for him. He found her ardeur addictive, both because of the fact that he enjoyed the feeling, and because she felt so much like Sakura sometimes he could hardly bare it. Despite these feelings, he had finally realized that she was no good for him – like crystal meth straight to the vein. Unfortunately, he had Sage to thank for that particular realisation, not that he would ever admit that Sage had ever done him a favour, let alone been right. Unlike usual, he had not bothered dressing up for Vale, not really seeing the need to – it was his night off, so to speak, and he simply wore a white cotton shirt and loose black jeans. He had not even asked his servants to clean the Necropolis. Unknownst to Vale, he now had several foxes living with him, serving his needs. He had been working on expanding his power base, finally. It wasn’t as though he hadn’t tried before, however Masaru had given up on niceities, it had gotton him no where. Force seemed to be the better alternative. However, for this particular meeting, he had sent the foxes away from him, given them the night off. Masaru knew that what he was about to attempt was simply not going to be controlled, and therefore unsafe for anyone within his quarters of the Ossuary. He did not want to break what he had already so carefully formed. He had sensed Vale as she had entered the Ossuary, her metaphysical aura being something he could now feel at all times, whether or not he could read her. He walked to the door casually as she drew closer, pulling it backwards as she pushed it forwards. As she walked in, calling his name, he shut the door, pointedly locking it – he did not need anyone to overhear their conversation, potentially a fight waiting to happen. Masaru looked at her, a blank expression on his face. There was no smile upon his lips, no friendly greeting. Instead, he looked at her expectantly, waiting for her to greet him in a far more traditional sense. If they were going to stop acting like they were a couple, and start acting like master and servant, then he expected her to start acting like the latter, even if it pained him a little to do things such ways. To give her a hint, he bowed his head only very slightly towards her, showing that he had respect for, but did not answer to her. After the greetings were done, he leant against the door in a relaxed fashion. “No doubt you have questions.” He stated simply. “Becoming a second is obviously something that requires a great amount of thought, which I have already given the matter. It is a position of high power within itself, and for this, I will need to give you a metaphysical boost, so to speak.” He casually brushed a hand through his hair, before looking directly into her eyes, though it was certainly not in a sexual sense. No, the look he gave her was one that would chill the spine of even the bravest man. “Do not think for a moment that you will ever be strong enough to challenge me. I am doing this because I know you, and you would make a perfect second. Do not let the power get to your head. I do not have the patience nor time for vampires with misguided thoughts of power.” It was a warning to her, an unspoken threat. He would kill her if she betrayed him. “Needless to say, you can choose to refuse. Both of us need to agree to this decision before anything further can be done. What is about to happen requires trust. And despite our pasts, I do trust you in this matter, Vale.” He very carefully avoided talking about the fact that they were no longer together – mainly because he still had some feelings for her, it hurt, and it wasn’t wise to bring up such a thing. His body language alone should have given away his decision – he did not want her sexually anymore. |

It felt strangely alien - from the moment she'd stepped into the Necropolis, if not the Ossuary altogether, Vale had known that things were going to be taking some very drastic changes in the near future. As if the way Masaru's little corner of the underground building hadn't been hint enough, the very cold expression on his face the moment he came into sight confirmed it. They were over, undoubtedly and unquestionably. For a moment, she'd been stunned. Vale knew that she was being ridiculous.. she'd never wanted to be with Masaru, in the first place. But it'd happened anyway, and she'd gotten used to it in their months together. What had she honestly expected? To just continue using him in the years to come, coming and going as she pleased? She would've been naive to have thoughts such as these, but still.. She greeted him as a servant would a master; bowing appropriately and rising once more at the allowed time. Her stomach was in knots. She didn't even care about him - not enough to be feeling like this. No, it wasn't because she was going to miss him that Vale felt like running from the room. So why? Sometimes she wished she could have her own personal psychologist on hand - just to understand some of the issues that came up in everyday life. The look was enough to chill the spine of the bravest man, and chill her spine it did. Suddenly feeling like she had in her first days at the Ossuary, when she'd only just oathed herself to Masaru, Vale nodded to show her understanding. Though she didn't quite know how the 'metaphysical boost' would work. ".. I would never think to betray you, master.." She tested the new title, the very slight disdain that crept into her tone not being in the least intentional. "I'd like to hear the terms of the position, as well as the means of acquiring it before I agree, if you please." It was as if they were two completely different people. Like the past several months hadn't even happened-- despite the fact that they had. ".. I trust you, though.. and believe I'll agree despite any circumstances. Just tell me what I need to do." |

The word master sounded strange coming from her lips, and probably always would be, even if the disdain did not enter her tone of voice. He nodded as she asked about the terms of the position, as well as the means of acquiring it. He wasn’t quite sure how to explain what it was he wanted to do. In truth, it was somewhat like the blood oathing they had both gone through, but perhaps, a thousand times worse in terms of invading each other’s bodies both metaphysically and physically. He wasn’t entirely sure Vale would be pleased to know that, but he could hardly hide that sort of information from her, especially since he needed her trust throughout the entire process. “As I mentioned before, you would become my second, as in second-in-command. You would be doing council duties when I am not around, or when there are more important matters to attend to. You would be in charge of helping vampires of my line come to terms with their new life, and believe me when I say that they will need all the help that they can get. Politically, and socially, you would be my eyes and ears for when I simply cannot attend events.” He watched her face as he continued. The job was not entirely a small one, and it was extremely strenous, but the rewards were great. “You would help me punish those who did not heed my words, you would reward those who did. Essentially...you would be taking on my role.” He paused for a few moments, letting the information sink in before continuing. “I am glad you trust me Vale, because you will need to. What is about to be done will change you forever, and our metaphysical link will be extremely difficult to close up if one needed to contact the other. You would need to tell me before you went on dates, or even showering if you so desired, because otherwise you might just hear my voice in the back of your mind. This is something that requires total trust, and not much more. I am not even totally sure how far this will extend. It is a far deeper bond than simply a blood oath...” “As for the procedeure... I’m not entirely sure what will happen. We both need to open our minds completely, no shields whatsoever. We will most likely find out everything about each other, and this cannot be helped. We will be replacing the blood in our own bodies with the others, at least five times. Ten would be sufficient, but I do not want to destroy you in the process. Power is a dangerous thing, and I do not know how much your body can handle. Along with the blood...we would be drowning each other in our metaphysical auras. You would need to force all your ardeur onto me, whilst I would be forcing all my sorrow onto you, so to speak. I do not imagine this to be a pleasant experience in the slightest, for either of us. You will find out things that I have not shared with anyone in centuries.” He walked towards Vale, a dark look in his eye as he grabbed her gently by the arms. “You are not to tell anybody of my past. Not ever. Whatever I have told you...it has only been a small part. You are about to know everything. This is the only way for you to become my second, Vale.” His grip tightened slightly, though not enough to hurt her, before letting go of her completely and stepping back. He needed her to understand the importance of the act he was about to do, and he needed her to accept despite all the negatives. “If you want to leave, the door is open. However, I will not offer this again to you.” |

Council duties? Vampires of his line? As far as Vale was aware there were no vampires of Masaru's line, apart from himself of course. That either meant that he'd recently turned some or that he intended to in the near future.. a prospect that the vampiress didn't really want to think about, if she was the one that was going to be in charge of all the little fledglings. They'd all be unstable emotional wrecks-- that happened to be thirsty for blood. Noticing that he was watching her rather closely, Vale made sure to show as little emotion on her features as possible, her expression looking quite plain (if not bored) as he spoke. "Essentially...you would be taking on my role.” The offer was a far greater one then she might have guessed. When Masaru continued on to explain how deeply their connection would extend after the metaphysical boost, the same reluctance she'd felt just moments prior returned, triple fold. She did not want to be- to be bound to her master, in such a way. With the blood oathing she'd still had a fairly generous amount of freedom. If she went through with this, she'd have to announce more than half of daily her actions to him on.. as said, a daily basis. And considering how she was a vampire of the belle morte line, she didn't particularly want to tell him every time she was showering, or going on a date. They'd have to work out some way to make it easier for she and Masaru to communicate with one another. She figured they could just do things like telepathically telling one another to go away for a couple of hours while they did.. whatever.. Yes, that would work. Vale relaxed once more. Only to return to being reluctant once Masaru opened his mouth again. Could he not give her any positives to the position, besides power? She knew that it was better for her to take on being his second rather then someone like Haruhisa - and that once they'd both gotten used to it things would be okay.. but there was still that transition period that they had to get through, not to even mention the metaphysical boost itself. According to him they would be finding out everything about one another, something Vale wasn't too keen on really doing. If she really went through with it, there would be absolutely no secrets between she and Masaru.. none about their past, their relationship, their feelings, none at all. And she wasn't entirely comfortable with that. As he stepped toward her she felt the compulsion to rip her arms from his grasp and do something along the lines of slap him - how dare he touch her! - but knew that it was only thoughts like these that'd make this all the more difficult. She'd already made her decision.. it was only matter of relaxing enough to actually inform him of this. "I despise the very thought of having no privacy at all; whether that privacy is in the future or the past.. and the idea of having that kind of connection - something that sounds so open, I couldn't predict how either one of us might react. So I'm going to go ahead and apologise in advance for anything... bad, that I might do during this 'metaphysical boost' that you've described. Just tell me how to begin, and I'll do it." |

“I do not like the thought of it either, which is why it is so important that you understand what is going to happen. We may find a way around it, we may not. It will take some time to get used to.” He nodded at her apology-in-advance. “I too, apologize for all the pain you are about to feel. To begin...I suggest you sit down. I do not think your body will be able to support you whilst we do this.” Masaru waited until she was seated, before he walked behind her, brushing her hair out of the way of her neck. “I will be drinking from your neck, you will be drinking from my wrist – I will be taking more blood from you than you are drinking, though I will slow down if I feel you becoming weaker. Do not panic when you feel it, it is completely normal.” He knelt down, his lips touching her collar bone. “Drop your shields on my word.” He didn’t ask it as a question, she had already made it clear that she would go through with it. He hoped she didn’t have second thoughts, for it might be the end of her. Wrapping his other arm around Vale so she had access to his wrist, he whispered into her skin. “Now.” Masaru dropped his shields, and his aura (quite literally) flowed into the room, and practically filled up the entire chamber. The air was thick with sorrow, and when he finally felt Vale drop her shields, a small part of lust. “Vale, I need you to concentrate. I need you to fill my entire body with your aura.” He waited, patiently until he felt the burn of desire begin to be thrown into him. “I am going to force my aura into you now, Vale. I am going to start drinking from your jugular vein. It will increase whatever emotion you are feeling by tenfold, but I need you to stay focused. When you don’t feel like you are going to explode, when you don’t feel physical pain, then you can start drinking my blood. Understand?” The thought never crossed his mind that she might need to stop, or take a break – and honestly, he did not know what would happen if he did. It might result in her death. Masaru gripped her body tightly for support, waiting for some sort of signal before he started the next phase. |

She didn't want to accept his apology; no apology would make up for the sorrow he would soon be forcing upon her. But she nodded anyway and sat down on the floor, shutting her eyes for a brief moment to make an attempt at relaxation. It failed. But Vale was intent on doing this, and was confident that she would be able to. Once he'd taken enough blood from her she knew the instinct to take some of that blood back would kick in, and she'd reach for his wrist... Hopefully. Either that, or she'd completely be lost to the sorrow and wouldn't be able to do anything at all... No. He said he'd slow down if she began to feel weak; she had to trust him. She struggled not to panic like he instructed. Once Masaru released his aura it was even more difficult; the sorrow was just so overwhelming. She couldn't even try and block it out; her shields had been entirely dropped, and and soon her own aura was meshing with his. It took her several moments to realize that she'd begun to shake, and she spared a few seconds to force herself to stop. It was an extremely strange feeling, the mixing of their auras... Midway between lust and depression, but holding a very unwelcome sense of unbalance all the while. The lust was comforting in it's own familiar way, while the sorrow was something that on any normal basis Vale would try to will away. Unfortunately, she didn't have that option right now. The ardeur came out slowly, barely there at first, but became more prominent as the seconds ticked by. Soon, although she felt horrible, the desire that was her power filled both her and the room, and she felt slightly better.. Slightly. She managed a very small nod - his sign to begin - and braced herself for the pain of the bite, one hand already holding his wrist in a death grip. ".. Go ahead." |

It was after she had spoken that he bit into her, his bite reaching for the vein he said he would. As vale's blood poured into his mouth, he filled her with his aura, so to speak, to keep her energy going. As it were, he was essentially draining all the blood out of her, and with her shields let down, he could wind up killing her if he was not careful. It was only when his aura began to 'replace' her blood when he began to relive her memories, from her past to her most recent. Masaru had already known of some of her past, but not the entire thing. During her oathing, she had blocked memories from him, shielded so hard he felt almost wrong to probe them. He could if he had wanted to, but he had not. And so it was only now that he found out about Rosalie, and her marriage to a man who never showed up. Her family, her vampire sire...it was all new information to him. It came as a small surprise to learn that once, some four hundred years ago, she had been as innocent as the rest. Though it was to be expected - none of them were the same as when they had been human. He was rolling Vale, quite thoroughly, though he was sure it would stop the physical pains, it certainly wouldn't stop the mental ones. It was when he began to find out her thoughts about him, that he felt her bite into his wrist - he had nearly drained her to the point where mortals died, and so it could be assume she was nearing a state of extreme fragility. Her bite induced the flare of the ardeur in him, and it was with this feeling that he saw himself, through her eyes. Her feelings towards him. And after that, came Sage. The fact they had slept together...or rather, that he had forced himself on her, and she had enjoyed it. Though he saw the experience, he knew what she had felt, and knew his own jealousy, he did not break his grip from her, nor did he turn away - it was no longer his problem, and if she wanted to associate with him, she could. He needed political leverage, and Vale seemed to have some with Sage. So be it. Her memories continued, some of them more fragmented than others, not that he minded. Masaru stopped drinking her blood, though his lips did not move off her neck - they were not done just yet. The process had to be repeated, at least four more times. He simply could not hold much more of her blood, and so he waited, feeling his own 'being', so to speak, enter Vales. In what he imagined would be extremely painful for her, he gathered his metaphysical aura and placed it within his own blood stream, so that with every drop, she was taking in more power...his power. Her body would have to convert it, and if she could not, he wasn't sure what would happen. The most likely possibility was that she would turn insane. Masaru hoped it would not come to that. He did not want to have to destroy her. As he felt his own body begin to weaken, he began to drink from her once more, once again feeling the sensation of the Ardeur, and her memories came flooding back once again. If there were anything she wished to keep secret from him, it was not a possibility on this night. Edited by Masaru, Jan 6 2009, 01:31 AM.

The bite came all too quickly, and she realized subconsciously that she'd never quite be ready or prepared for this kind of experience. It was too uncomfortable; too unpleasurable for any human body to accept, and although her body wasn't entirely human, the basis for her being was still there. If there had been physical pain in the bite, the natural reaction her body would have had would have been to try and tear away, to stop the pain. But there wasn't, and everything was mental. In many ways this was far, far worse.. at least with physical pain, there were two solid ways to make it go away. One was for the wound, or whatever was causing the pain, to heal. The other was to die and ultimately end any suffering that you may be experiencing. With mental pain there was no specific way to 'heal', and she wasn't exactly up for dying. Vale had to force herself not to bite him back immediately, reminding herself silently that he had to take some of her blood, first. She was only vaguely aware of whatever memories he might have been experiencing, too caught up in the effects his aura and bite were having on her. He felt too close, the thought suddenly popped into her mind that she wanted him much further away. She did what she could to struggle, to wave him away, but to no avail. She simply did not have the energy to push him off, so anger kicked in. It was almost like being drunk, the pain of the situation causing her mind to revert to it's most simple state. Raw emotion. The anger, mixed in with the sorrow, was what made her suddenly bring his wrist up to her lips and bite it. She, unlike him, did not bother with any attempts at rolling him, instead forcing all of her power into the bite. Why did drinking his blood feel so painful? She hadn't even realized he'd pulled away from her own neck by this point, the sorrow she'd felt before not having subsided in the least. The blood that she drank felt like it was on fire, but she couldn't force herself to stop. And then, the memories began. She learned of 'Toshiro Akutagawa' (and suddenly understood the relevance of Masaru's funeral parlor's name), about his human life, and then how he met Hairul.. If she didn't already feel so depressed (though even calling it depression was a major understatement; she'd never felt worse in her life) and wasn't in so much pain, she might've paid close attention to the memories. She was quite likely, the first person to ever know about Masaru's past experiences, and the things that he'd gone through were quite amazing. Through his eyes she saw him coming back to Japan, meeting the Master of the City... and then, she saw Sakura. Sakura, who Masaru had loved - and possibly still did love - passionately, and Sakura who'd started Masaru's addiction to the ardeur. Masaru's addiction eventually led him to be locked away, Vale wasn't sure for how long a time, and this led to the development of his current powers. The Ardeur played a great role in his past, from the day that he'd met Sakura to.. well, now, but it was soon that the memories began to become far more recent. She saw how much she reminded Masaru of his old love, and that he believed she was the reincarnation of the woman. At this point it took Vale several seconds to remove herself from her master's wrist, as she refused to allow any more of his memories to flood her mind. Unfortunately, they were far from finished. He began to drink from her again, and it felt even worse then it had the first time. Now there was physical pain as well as mental, and.. she wasn't quite sure if she could handle it much longer. She'd hadn't yet comprehended that tears had begun to pour from her eyes, too preoccupied with everything else to even notice. |

Some hours later, after the task had been finished. Masaru felt exhausted, and he was sure that Vale felt the same. Instead of swapping blood four, or five times, they had done it fifteen times, by his count. He now knew everything about Vale, and truthfully, it was more than he had wanted to know, but he was hardly about to discuss it. He did not want to discuss his own thoughts, which would come around if he began to question hers. And truth be told, he was too damnned exhausted to deal with that sort of crap. He was still worried that Vale's physical body might not be able to adjust to such a sudden intake of power. Her body was near limp in his arms, and he wasn't sure whether it had all been too much for her body to handle. “Valencia?” Masaru questioned, barely feeling the energy of her aura. She needed rest, and very badly. He knew his blood was more than enough to keep her well fed, it was now just a matter of waiting for her to recover. It was with that thought that he placed her into her coffin, before he collapsed into his. -Three nights later- Masaru had spent the past three nights checking on Vale constantly, but it seemed that she had been resting the entire time. It had been a huge concern to him, and her aura had been week. He was worried that she would go insane from the power, and he would have to kill her. It had only been on this night that he had felt her energy levels peak – the whole chamber had. Somehow, his servants had become overcome with lust, and so his chambers had turned into somewhat of an orgy. However, Masaru did not care at that point – it meant Vale had woken up, and was either in a panic, unable to control her powers, or testing them out. He hoped she could control her powers...he prayed she could. It was hurriedly that he went to her coffin, opening it with ease, and ignoring the taste of the ardeur on his tongue, he went to lift Vale out of her coffin... His hand recoiled in shock. The instant he had touched her, an overwhelming sense of the Ardeur had exploded through him, unlike anything Sakura had ever done to him. “Shit...” He murmured, before reaching down and grabbing her once more, though this time he shoved his sorrow through her frame, hoping it would not be too much for her. “Remember your place, Vale! Do you know where you are?” He asked, trying to figure out whether she was insane or not. Normally, he would have simply rolled her to find out such information, but he was blocking extremely hard to stop himself being affected by the Ardeur. He did not want to become addicted to it again, however Vale was making it extremely difficult. “Say something before I am forced to kill you!” He whispered furiously, pinning her down by the shoulders where she lay. |

Vale was beyond exhausted. She felt amazingly overworked, and did she have the energy to actually think about anything she might have taken note of the fact that her body had exceeded many of it's limitations quite severely. Her eyes had already been drifting shut midway through the 'metaphysical boost', and by the end she'd been out cold.. so to speak. She wasn't anywhere near awake enough to notice Masaru picking her up or placing her into her coffin - where she stayed for the next several nights, very slowly working her way up to a recovery. If it could even be considered that. She began to drift in and out of consciousness, never quite being able to register just where she was or what had happened. The memories she'd experienced came and went, but everything felt a blur. She couldn't concentrate on any one thing for too long - trying to wake up included - or she'd just drift back to 'sleep'. She just didn't have the energy for anything.. She spent an entire night drifting like this, the first night having been busy resting. The third night she was already making some progress, having been able to half open her eyes. She knew that.. something was wrong - seriously wrong - but that was as far as she was capable of thinking. After almost two hours of merely trying to figure out what was wrong, it clicked somewhere in the back of her mind that Vale wanted company. She didn't want to be alone at the moment, and perhaps the company of somebody else - she knew who - might even help her to heal a bit faster.. What was she healing from? Eyes snapping open the second somebody - he - touched her, she was aware of a power flaring from within her. He wasn't allowed to touch her just yet.. it was rude to wake somebody when they were asleep. Her eyes fell shut almost immediately after he let go, the power having been enough to waken her before but.. not now. "... kill you!" Kill her? Why? A slight groan escaped her lips - the most noise she'd made in days - and her eyes fluttered open as if waking from a long slumber. Her vision was still slightly blurred, but it soon cleared, and she saw Masaru standing before her. Without warning she was moving, one hand wrapping around his waist while the other around his neck, both acting to pull the two of them closer together. She rested almost her entire weight atop him, deciding that Masaru made a much better bed then the coffin. Vale mumbled incomprehensible words for several seconds, before suddenly pulling away and narrowing her eyes at him icily. "I am not her." Was all she said, and not even giving him a millisecond to react, she was then pressing her lips tightly to his own. |

Masaru swore loudly when she didn't answer any of his questions. It wasn't long before she had wrapped her arms around him, and she pulled them closer together – he had underestimated her strength, and stupidly, he hadn't thought her insanity was a truly real possibility. And he had not invoked the help of any of those oathed to him for this process, had not thought that he would need it. His arms clutched hers, though he was trying to gently make her let go instead of draw himself closer. He was afraid of breaking her accidentally, he now knew she was in an extremely fragile state, and he wasn't sure how to deal with it. Suddenly, she pulled away, and he was perplexed. Her eyes narrowed coldly at him, and he got ready for her to attack him. He would kill her if it came to it...but she did not attack. Rather, she babbled more words that didn't make much sense to him - “I am not her.” Whatever she had meant, he was not sure of. However when she pressed her lips to his, tidal waves of the ardeur flowed through his body. The lust practically swallowed him, and though he enjoyed it, he could not allow himself to succumb to such a weakness...but with every second, he found himself doing things he did not want to do. When he deepened the kiss that he realized he was in trouble. He could not force his sorrow onto Vale without doing almost permanent damage, he could not pull away for fear of physically breaking her. But if things continued the way they were, he was positive that he would be putting himself, and everyone allied to him in danger. He could feel her ardeur stretching out to those who had oathed themselves to him, to those he had turned, and his animal to call, the fox. Though he knew he was in trouble, he was impressed. If Vale could do this to him, then surely she had reached a master level... It was when his hands were underneath her clothes that he finally did something he had not done before – he called Yukie for help. His call was so strong that he was sure there was no way for her to resist. And even though she was blocking him, she had felt it. In truth, he was glad she had been blocking him, for if she had not, she would have already fallen to the ardeur, and would be entirely useless to him. “Vale, you must get control of yourself. You must stop this!” Masaru said, his body protesting the words. The ardeur felt so good, he was drowning in it. It was with much mental strength that he finally figured out a solution, and used his sorrow on himself. Despite this, he still felt the flame of the ardeur within him, and through his tears, he could feel his hands taking off her clothes, caressing her bare flesh. This was around the time that Yukie walked in, to see a sobbing Masaru caressing a nearly naked Vale, with the overwhelming feeling of lust in the air. |

He tasted far better then she did, and Vale much preferred the feeling of his lips pressed to hers then nothing at all. How she could actually taste anything was beyond her; perhaps she was merely imagining it. Whatever the case she was enjoying herself, and did not want Masaru to stop. Fortunately he complied - seemingly reading her mind as she willed him to go even further with his actions - both deepening the kiss and slipping his hands underneath her clothing. She smiled lightly into the kiss, pulling away only to trail her lips down his neck. She didn't feel hungry, just.. she wanted him. The smell of his blood made her stomach turn for some reason, but nonetheless, she laid her kisses by his veins, too. "I don't want to stop.." she murmured, before gasping. Eyes wide, she traced her hand around from his neck to his cheek, wiping away some of the tears. Why was he sad? She felt the power in him, but didn't just realize that he was using his sorrow on himself. Was she making him sad? Surely she couldn't be - her powers were supposed to make people feel good! She increased the amount of ardeur she was using on him, reaching up and wiping some of the tears, before kissing away the rest. "Don't cry.." She cooed, like a mother nursing her injured son. A very.. incestuous mother. Right. Suddenly a distraction walked into the room; a pretty fox woman who looked about ready to rip off her clothes and come join in the fun Vale and Masaru were having. Or lack thereof, taking into consideration his tears. The fox ran over to the two, but instead of joining them as she'd guessed, she tried to rip them apart! Vale's jaw dropped in disbelief, and she merely hugged Masaru to her all the tighter. The fox was making him cry.. glaring at the woman, the vampiress allowed her newly gained power to leak out further into the room, making it harder to breathe. She smiled at the fox suddenly struggling, the woman's words being lost to her. She only concentrated on her master, on trying to make him feel better. "Shh.. relax, don't cry.." But the fox would not give up. She wanted to be close to Masaru, too, and seemed quite willing to dispose of Vale to make that happen. Or at least, this was what Vale decided was happening. She glared at the fox, moving away from her crying master to deal with the woman, herself. "You're making him cry; get out." She commanded, only earning her a strange look from the woman. So, she wouldn't listen? Fine; she'd be removed from the premises whether she like it or not! |

“You must gain control of these damnned powers!” Masaru said through gritted teeth, forcing the sorrow further through his own body as she increased the force of the ardeur on him. It was becoming increasingly difficult to concentrate, and so when he sensed Yukie finally enter the room, it was a huge relief. And when she tried to pry them apart, her hands touched him – and the marks flared open. Almost immediately, he felt stronger, though it seemed that Yukie was being affected by the ardeur, and Masaru's eyes flickered to Vale, before pulling Vale's arms off him. He wasn't sure if she was misbehaving, unable to control herself or insane, and he wasn't entirely sure how exactly to check such a thing if she truly was in a fragile state. Would entering her mind break her or save her? He stepped away from Vale, gathering a now shaking Yukie in his arms and holding her to his chest tightly – not so much intimate as protective. The marks flaring between them blocked out any ardeur that Vale was trying to impose on them. 'What the fuck is going on?' Yukie remarked metaphysically, her body now shaking from anger. Masaru shook his head. at her. 'Not the time Yukie, not the right time.' He could still feel the edges of Vale's power surrounding them, but it seemed that with a close proximity to Yukie, they were damned near ineffective. And that, he was greatful for. In fact, with Yukie so close, the marks between them effectively open, he was functioning a lot better than he had been since he'd marked her. Had the marks being closed been weakening him? It was entirely a possibility. Masaru had not been able to ask anyone about such a think - it would be perceived as a weakness, and the council could not afford to appear weak. His eyes went back to Vale once more, his arms still wrapped around his furious animal servant. The contact was doing wonders for him metaphysically...and it was then that he decided on his actions. Without a moments hesitation, he opened the connection between himself and Vale once more, moving towards her once more before warning Yukie. 'For both our sake...do not fight what is about to happen.' He let go of Yukie, holding her hand instead of hugging her frame. “Come back, Vale.” It was with that, that Masaru grabbed Vale by the arm and metaphysically entered her frame, not giving or stopping her power, but searching to try see if her state of mind was still intact. Once more he shifted through her memories, emotions...projecting those images he was seeing into her own mind. Masaru felt Yukie stiffen beside him, and realized that she too was seeing Vale's memories. He wasn't entirely sure if he could shut Yukie off from the memories and retain the control that he had... And with that thought, he finally managed to find a part of Vale that he recognized, her 'being' without the power. And it was that he focused on, shutting out all her other powers until he could no longer feel the ardeur lingering on his skin. It was then he dropped all his shields against her, before attempting something he had not tried before...pulling the part of 'her' up past her metaphysical power. It was when he felt her power metaphysically 'seal' in her own body that he withdrew himself, letting go of Vale's hand. It was then that Yukie struggled to let go of his. “You fucked that whore? YOU FUCKED HER?” She yelled, unable to break his grip on her hand. “I'm not going to be a fucking part of that shit. You hear me? I have a daughter to worry about! And I do not want any part of your sick fucking games. Let me the fuck GO, you self deprived emo shit!” |

Masaru suddenly went and wrapped his arms around the woman. Confused, Vale tilted her head to one side, wondering what he was doing. Maybe she wasn't making him cry.. but then.. eyes suddenly widening, the thought occurred that she might've been at fault. That was impossible! She hadn't done anything wrong, had she...? His (although metaphysical) invasion came as quite the blow. She was almost knocked right off her feet, the sudden feeling of having him.. with her. It wasn't like normal, where you could literally feel somebody with you - it was more then that. She could really feel him, everything about him, from the finest strand of hair to the very emotions he was experiencing; she was aware of it all. When he spoke, it was.. loud. Very clear, and strangely close - he may as well have said it from within her mind. She fell to her knees, unable to do much of anything. Her own memories came flooding back to her, Masaru's presence seeming to take a step back from her immediate notice. Everything was surprisingly alien, almost like she was viewing somebody else's life pass through her mind-- And then, something clicked. Snapped might've been a better term to describe it, but either way, it'd happened. It wasn't painful, but just.. sudden. One moment she was lost, and the next she immediately knew what was going on, what had happened, and how she'd just been acting. Like she'd been insane. Involuntarily releasing a quiet whimper, Vale could comprehend just how tired she was still feeling. The fox woman's yelling only irritated her, gave her a headache in a way, and she reached up to her forehead to try and steady her thoughts. "Masaru.." She began, eyes squeezing shut. "I apologize for my behavior. Thank you for that, but I'm begging you.. please, make her shut the fuck up." It was a lot like recovering from an irritating illness (such as a bad cold).. or a hangover. Everything around her suddenly had annoyance in it - mostly the little bitch that wouldn't stop shrieking and swearing. She slowly rose to her feet, not being able to stop herself from swaying. It'd been a while since she'd experienced this kind of thing, and frankly she would've done quite well without it. It was only since she'd snapped back into place, so to speak, that she really registered all the power she'd been emanating... and focused what was left of her energies on bringing it all back in. It was no easy task - truthfully this was far more power then she really knew what to do with, and controlling it took a lot of effort. She contained what she could, but the air of lust still hadn't entirely withdrawn from the room. At least the rest of the Necropolis wouldn't be affected now.. Completely ignoring the fox and anything else she might've said, she just barely managed to turn her head to face Masaru. "I.. need more rest, please, help me back to the coffin." |

A huge wave of relief washed through him as Vale actually sounded like herself once more. He shot a warning glare at his fox, before stating, “She is still not safe. I suggest you do not over excite her, lest you be the victim of her next power leak.” It was with that, that Yukie silenced herself – at least temporarily. “You are feeling more like yourself now?” He questioned, supporting her shoulders to help her stand. She felt extremely cold, and had not fed off blood in three nights – even though her powers and his blood could sustain her, she needed to feed. But she claimed not to even have the energy for that. Masaru realized that she would probably need a hot bath to warm her body so that it could sustain a feeding session. “Yukie, go run a bath in the giant tub. Hot water only.” Yukie seemed more than happy to leave the room. “Vale, I think you need to ensure your state...You will need to feed tonight to prevent the power from overwhelming you again whilst you sleep.” He could feel that she was exhausted beyond belief, but he knew that he needed the seal on her powers to stay put. Masaru picked up her frail form with ease, before walking into the bathroom where a tub of steaming water welcomed them. “Can I leave now?” Yukie asked – Masaru shook his head. He needed someone to ensure that nothing bad would happen. “Wait outside the door. If you feel something go wrong...then enter.” As soon as Yukie left the room, Masaru placed Vale in the bathtub, not even bothering to remove what every little remained of her clothes. He got in soon after her, more as a safety measure as anything else. If she caused injury to herself, who knew what could happen – he didn't want to think about it. “Once you start feeling better, you can feed and hopefully we will not have to do this again tomorrow night. I was worried, Vale.” Masaru said with a sigh, pulling her into an embrace both because he wanted to, and because he was worried she was going to fall asleep and hurt herself again. Masaru wondered whether Yukie would let Vale feed from her. He doubted that she'd like it, but she would have little choice in the matter if he had any say in it. |
