It wasn't the screams that drew the Heretic back to the entrance of the Bollwerk. Those were to be expected after all, though possibly not to the degree that the girl was going at. Doubtless, some one had either taken it upon themselves to either help her or make her situation worse. Of course, trying to help her would cause just as much pain and anguish and doing further damage would. It had been the new wave of fear that slithered along his skin that coaxed him back, coupled with curiosity. It was a familiar fear, one he had tasted only hours ago and was still intimatly familiar with. If he didn't know better, he would think someone was starting all over again on the door ornament. Words floated to him through the stone hallways, echoing like lonely ghosts and bringing him snippets of conversation. "Rosalie..." The name slipped though his lips to slither back through the halls, ghosting outwards as it the very doors of the Bollwerk were calling to her. He stepped through the doors only moments later, still fastening the buttons on one cuff as green eyes calmly surveyed those gathered. He frowned for a moment, head canting to the side as he peered at the blond woman before recognition floated across his face and tuged a smile from his lips. "I almost didn't recognize you, poppet." Last he had seen her, broken and bleeding out, had been centuries ago. His attention slid away from her as he gave his fellow Council member a half bow, though not before he noted the man's hand resting on Rosalie's shoulder. "As for Ettore..." he said, idly wandering to peer at the wailing door 'sign', a hand reaching outwards to run knuckles along her cheek. "While the gesture is appreciated, its not quite the same, now is it?" Not that he minded too terribly much. The energy he was drawing from her was more than enough to last him for several nights, possibly even weeks. At this rate, he could likely just stick her in some corner and keep feeding off of her. But where was the fun in that? "How long is it going to last?" |
