The Sorrow Eater ~ Vampire Council Member
|
It was not unlike any other night for Masaru. The departure of some council members and the arrival of others had caused a shift in the political chambers, and though he had only spoken to those new members on the council once or twice in passing, he had thought the changes for the better. The weakest on the council disappeared, inevitably leading to a stronger contenders, and therefore a stronger council. He had decided to take the time that night to explain to Vale about the new council members. She of all people, needed to be kept up to date with the goings on in the council, for she was the one who took care of his business when he went on trips. Already, he had told her of Gerard's rise to the council, him being the man who had 'followed' her so frequently. He had told her of his rise in status, as far as vampires went. Lastly he had told her of the rise of a man he believed would be relatively unknown to her – a vampire by the name of Adrian. By outwards appearances, Adrian seemed nice enough. A charming manner, aristocratical-type appearance. However Masaru had heard stories about the man, and none of them had been positive. He didn't wish to scare Vale, and thus he had not told her of this yet. He intended to, however at a different time. He was actually enjoying the debate that he was having with Vale. 'There are a lot of negatives to being tagged...but you truly think the negatives outweigh the positives? Since that official attacked myself and Miss Ange, I have not been so certain. It had been a point of interest since it had happened, though very few actually knew of the event happening. There had been a rather large cover up on Iveriot's side of things, and so the actual events of that night had been changed to a 'fire wielding maniac terrorizing the city'. Which was a news story that had been extremely inaccurate, and extremely small. During the course of the night, they had walked through the course of most of the Ossuary, though they had not entered the chambers of any of the other members. It was a respect matter. However when they finally came to the entrance of Adrian's chambers, Masaru paused in his step. Hanging on the door was some pitiful excuse for a vampire, which was not what caused him to halt. No, standing near this door was a man who seemed vaguely familiar to him, but from where exactly he could not recall. Subconciously, he placed a hand on Vale's shoulder protectively. Where had he seen this man's face before? The man seemed to be causing the victim on the door more pain, though Masaru did not care to intervene. He was more perplexed at the issue of where he knew this man from. |
