![]() Ettore ·· 1072 ·· Master of Florence ·· Sourdre de Sang An evening spent in Paris was absolutely nothing when placed in comparison to but a mere hour in Florence. However beautiful the night lights of the City of Lovers illuminating the sky might've been, they lacked that general feeling of home Ettore was simply filled with in his own city. He would admit, though, that France was an exciting and new (less on the exciting) place for the vampire to see after spending so much time away; his last visit had been almost a full three hundred years ago. Up until now, he'd had no reason to return. There was nothing spectacular about the city; in all honesty he believed it was rather overrated. However, recent events had forced him to leave his so very humble abode and venture out into the world - the first of which, was the new members of council that'd recently been seated. He still hadn't come to meet any of the new council, despite the fact that they had been in position for the past several months now. The last time that he'd even set foot in the Ossuary had been back in the old council's reign, before their sudden disappearance. And, looking around the interior now... he had to say; he was quite disappointed. One would think that one of the first things the newer council would do after coming into power would be some redecorating; but the entrance still looked basically the same! It was positively disgusting, how they could neglect their duties in such a way. If that didn't say anything about the current council, he didn't know what would. The second reason he was in Paris, was to investigate the death of one particular fledgling of his. Although it was true that since her creation, she hadn't seen her master even once - he had still made sure to keep tabs on her over the years. Recently he'd received information on her death, and as little as he'd seen Eden in her years as a vampire, the fact that one of his own had actually been killed had irritated him somewhat. So, he was coming to see what had happened. After probing the minds of some servants that'd passed him by a little (as if he'd actually ask; what a waste of energy that would be), Ettore had managed to gather enough information about the Ossuary and it's occupants to make a decision on where to begin. According to one particular servant's knowledge, the newest member of council (apparently there was much shifting going on between the available seats; disappearances and the like taking place quite a bit.. how pitiful that those who were supposed to be in charge of the vampire world couldn't even hold down their positions without getting themselves killed) had the potential, to be somebody that he already knew. A particular vampire who'd first passed through Florence not long after being turned, when he'd still been with his master. Hadrian had proven to be quite the prodigy, still a young vampire at the time, but undoubtedly one that would go far in the near future. The Heretic, as he went by now, had become council. Not exactly what Ettore had had in mind upon their meeting; it felt almost insulting that somebody so young could be considered powerful enough to hold a seat, but it was still impressive accomplishment he would admit. It wasn't long before he was finding out exactly why Hadrian was considered worthy of such a position - just that pleasant little greeting at the doors of what was apparently called, 'The Bollwerk', was enough to demonstrate as much. The fact that the oh so attractive young female hanging partially blocking the entrance of the doorway was still alive was quite the discovery; why.. it was pure artistry. Hadrian definitely would have made a fine torturer in another life. It was quite apparent that his skills (or creativity) hadn't at all dulled over the years. It did seem a bit of a waste, though... they could've been put to such better use. Something a little more productive. He'd almost walked right into the swan on the ground before paying her any mind - the vampire at the door had far more potential for amusement, as opposed to somebody not even conscious. The urge to kick her pretty little face in for daring to get in his way was practically overwhelming, but he decided to tend to her next - the woman by the door was practically calling to him, begging for his attention. For good reason, too. Her features were barely recognisable; the only reason he'd even known she was female was due to taking a brief look within her mind. Both to find out exactly what had been done to her, and what gender she was. Removing from his coat pocket a black leather glove (tailored for his hands only; nothing less than designer could even so much as touch his skin), he placed it over his hand before reaching up and taking what was once her chin between his thumb and forefinger. A soft smile crossed his features as a cry of pain escaped her fragile, tortured form.. "How beautiful you look," he complimented. The words were quiet; more imitate then they probably should have been given the situation. "A wonderful welcome to what will surely be an eventful visit.. but not quite.. lively, enough. You're rather dull, if I do say so myself." Delving somewhat deeper into her mind this time, he called upon the memories of her very recent torture - something that he found to have only taken place only a few hours earlier. This just made it all easier to force the experience back into her conscious mind... and essentially, make her relive the entire ordeal again, completed even by recalling her feelings at the time. That way, she wasn't only seeing what had happened, but she got to feel it, too! It just wouldn't have been right to deny her the full experience. Completing his task, he made sure to clear her mind just that extra little bit after finishing; so that she could fully experience what she was seeing without encountering any silly issues such as trying to actually suppress the memory. He would've taken such an act to be the worst kind of insult, and would've been greatly offended if she did somehow manage to do it. Her pained, terrified screams as she relived every second of pain - and would continue to do, until he decided otherwise or somebody finally put her out of her misery - brought a grin to his lips. "There... isn't that just so much better?" |
