After a few moments of waiting, Mabel was met with only silence. She had to move quick to get the drop on Aidan, not sure as to how long the man would wait for her to emerge from the dining room. Perhaps just long enough for her to slip up from behind and plant a bullet in the back of his head. Or maybe his back just for the sheer irony of it. There was a certain satisfaction that she felt at the knowledge that she would finally kill the man who had betrayed her. Still crouched, she moved over to the door and pulled it open gently before she peered around the corner. The gun was back in Mabel's hands as it led the way past the doorframe and was directed down the hall. Still silence. The wereleopard rose and began to move down the hallway. Both hands gripped the gun and she held it in front of herself with the barrel pointed down as she started to move. Practically on tip toes her feet barely made any sound at all. Briefly she paused at the first door she came to, peering inside to verify Aidan was not there -- though she did not the game area and theater. The woman had to resist snorting, wondering how many people the man had stabbed in the back to afford this place. At the end of the hall and where it broke off into a Y she stopped to lean against the wall and peer around the corner. A smirk had spread over her face in this time but now, as she looked to the landing and staircase, the satisfied look faltered. Aidan was gone and all that left was his clothes... "What the..." |
